I love the blurb.
It tells me of great things to come.
I am determined to give it a fair chance so I will overlook the editing hiccups in the prologue.
I will not judge this book by its first page.

“My name is Dr. Turner. I am the neurosurgeon on call tonight. Mr. Moretti is in critical condition. He has a nondisplaced skull fracture and a subdural hematoma. The surgery to fix the brain bleed went well. We will need to do a CT scan in the morning to check his progress. He has a CSF leak and we may need to go in and repair that. The next twenty-four hours are critical. He will likely need a few more surgery. His left arm is shattered and he has some broken ribs. We can’t do anything about his other injuries until he is stable. “

This is the story of Caleb Allen another part of the Moretti Clan and Dr. Jena's story. A little backstory of theirs is when Mark got hurt and was in the hospital, Jena was his nurse. Even when Mark went home, the Moretti's was grateful that she helped saved his life and they made her part of the family. Jena and Caleb's relationship kind of grew from there with instant sparks but didn't act on anything.
Now on to Taming the Boy Next Door. The story soon picks up after book 2 left off and Caleb is actually dating his high school crush but soon breaks it off because the feelings just aren't there. Caleb is know for his wild and playboy ways but has a heart of gold that will melt your heart. In the first story which was Mark's, I found Caleb rather annoying because he was "in love" with Sofie and it made a lot of conflict between the men. Then in book two, you still find him rather annoying but you start to see a different side to him when it came to his family. Now, I absolutely fell in love with Caleb. He has such a huge heart, sexy and holy crap, wait to you see his bedroom side which I totally wasn't expecting but it made the book that much more.
Jena has been through hell and back and has a hard time opening up but Caleb brings a side out in her that she really wants to try. She has secrets that she has kept from him because she just wants it all to go away but when an incident occurs, it all comes back to haunt her. It really broke my heart to see this but it just makes everything in the end sweeter and MJ totally captures everything with perfection.
You'll also get to meet Caleb's sister Andrea who I freakin adore. I love her spunky, sassiness attitude and just wait to you put her and Kevin which his book is next (eeepp can't wait). Their banter is totally hilarious, it's obvious they have it bad for each other. And of course you'll see all the gang back in this story as well. Freakin love this series and love MJ's face! :

Very surprised as how much I liked this one. We met Caleb from the first book in the series.
Caleb has always been the guy with the whole “boy next door” looks and personality. He is loyal and devoted to his friends and family. However, Caleb is a completely different guy in the bedroom. He is not all wholesome and sweet. It is something is he is not sure whether every woman can handle. He hopes that Jena, the woman he is slowly falling in love with can love and accept all of him. Caleb doesn’t know that Jena herself has secret.
I liked Jena and Caleb. My only problem was that Jena knew that Caleb was seeing someone. Even though Caleb was not serious about the other girl, Mac, the first time that Jena and Caleb kissed, I thought that Jena would ask Caleb whether it was over.
I liked this one. I thought the writing was completely different than the first book in the series.
With every series the story and development of the characters got better. I was going to give up on this series, but so glad I did not. The writing did not feel as forced.

A great read
Caleb and Jena are too cute! They have a pull towards each other the moment their eyes meet. But when the past tears it's ugly head, will their instant love be strong enough to beat out all the worry and fear for these characters?

Warning if you have not read any of the other Moretti Novels this review may contain spoilers. Taming the Boy Next Door is the third novel in the Moretti Novels by MJ Carnal. I would not recommend this to be read as a standalone. The stories intertwine and it would be too hard to keep up.
I fell in love with Caleb and my heart broke for him in Taming the Bachelor, the first book in the series. He was so sweet and I have been looking forward to this book so that he could get his happily ever after. In the first book he is in love with Sophie and she doesn’t reciprocate his feelings. He is the sweet guy but the feelings were just not there for her. After a bunch of drama goes down and a few scary situations take place Caleb is put in a position that makes him want to become the loyal and devoted friend he was known as in the past. I really love him, he is one of those guys that wears his heart on his sleeve. He isn’t scared to admit his feelings. So when he meets Dr. Jena Turner he knows exactly what he wants from her and he isn’t shy about it. He may be a sweet guy but once the bedroom doors closes he likes to be in charge.
Dr. Jena Turner was brought into this group after a tragedy but the Moretti clan has claimed her as one of their own. She has gotten close to all of them over the last few months especially Caleb. The moment the two met sparks flew and Caleb is determined to win her over. The problem is Jena is shy and focused on work. Jena’s past has left her sheltered. She has never really recovered from something that happened to her when she was in high school. Instead of dealing with the issue she focuses on work, so when things heat up between her and Caleb she isn’t sure how to deal with it. I really liked her character because she didn’t come across as one of those needy women like in so many other books. Although she has been through a lot in her past and hasn’t really dealt with the issue she is still strong but she just doesn’t realize it. I felt sorry for her and hoped she could move on.
The chemistry between Jena and Caleb is hot! The sex scenes are scorching! I think where the book fell flat for me was the introduction to the next book. I wanted more Caleb and Jena but I felt like at times the book was more about Caleb’s sister Andi and Kevin. I love Kevin because he is an ass and I loved the interaction between him and Andi but I wanted less of it or at least for it to not feel like it took over the book. Overall, I enjoyed the book but it wasn’t my favorite in the series. I will definitely pick up the next book because I love all the characters and I look forward to seeing what happens to them in the future.

I am delighted to discover this author. Ms Carnal has a writing style that I am in love with. Though I have recently read all 4 of the Moretti series, I am going to start with this book being my favorite to review.
While I didn't think the storyline was as compelling as Book #2 in the series, I thought that Caleb was the best written hero of the series so far. The challenge with writing about a hero that was in a previous book and in love with the heroine in that book is that the heroine he is paired with in his book can sometimes come off as second best. In many books I have read it has been anywhere to mildly well done to a real epic fail. Not here. MJ writes Caleb's love for Jena beautifully in this book and I never once thought that she was a consolation prize for Sophie. His thoughts, his words, his actions are nothing more than all loving all the time to Jena.
I love that Jena is a doctor and a strong woman to be admired. Even through her tragic event, she handles herself with grace. She has got to be one of my all time favorite heroines.
I love that Caleb was the one that had to fight for her - but then at the end it was Jena that made the grand gesture. This is another aspect of MJ Carnal's writing that I love. Her H/h's have this equal kind of love. Caleb and Jena realize the connection at the same time from the beginning, they realize their love at the same time, and they show their love equally. Yes, Jena takes a little longer to say the words but we as the reader know how she feels. And actually, how refreshing it was to have the hero express their love first. And it was so needed in this book from Caleb in my opinion, to help me as the reader understand that his love for Jena was true and he wasn't secretly pining for Sophie.
And WHAT! with that proposal! One of the best I have ever read!
The last thing I love about this book are the secondary characters. I love that we get to be invested in the next couple's book while still in the same book. Andi and Kevin are a riot - opposites attract in every way. I could not wait to read thier book.

So I picked this up because it was free and I realize that I took a chance since it's the 3rd book in the series, which is like getting to a party late where everyone else knows each other and you know no one.
So this is the story about Caleb and Jena who first meet when his friend Mark is in a motorcycle accident and she's the attending Neurosurgeon on Mark's case. It's insta-attraction, but he's got a girlfriend. Fast forward 6 months and she's now part of the Mark Moretti clan and Caleb is finding his attraction to Jena growing and he finally grows a pair and breaks up with the girlfriend so that he can pursue Jena. Drama ensues because Caleb learns that you can't really enter into a sexual relationship with anyone that includes bondage without knowing someone really well and Jena's got a past that he doesn't know about.
The author does a pretty good job of filling in some of the history on the other characters Mark and Ryan (on which the first two books are based) and the connection to Jena and Caleb. While I still feel like I'm missing something, I don't think it's the back stories of Mark and Ryan, but what exactly makes these two characters a good couple besides the sex and B/D, which turns out to be their issue when it sets off a trigger to Jena's past. I'm still not sure what makes them compatible except for this attraction. Did we learn more about them in the previous books and it got glossed over in this one? Not sure. But I felt like I was missing the depth in the characters that might make me understand why they "need each other to breathe" and why they "can't sleep without each other."
I will give the author credit for not giving Caleb a past where's he was abused in some way and therefore needs to turn to bondage to get his rocks off. He's just a normal guy who also happens to like control in the bedroom.

Let me start by saying I LOVE M.J. Carnal!! I've waited for what seems like forever for Caleb's story. If you haven't read the first 2 books in this series I highly recommend you do because it will give you an in-depth look at some really AWESOME characters such as Rich and Molly, Mark and Sophie, and my favorite all time book boyfriend Ryan and Layla.
I made a comment in my last review that Caleb needed to get what was coming to him and OMG M.J. Carnal let him have it in this book! I was happy, but oh so sad at the same time...what goes around comes around???
Caleb is a HOT, dominating, protective, hunk of a dude with a giant heart who falls in love with Dr. Jena Turner the minute he lays eyes on her.
Dr. Jena Turner is first introduced to us when she is the attending doctor when Mark gets hurt in the first book and she is welcomed into this great group of friends who are more like family.
Things are going smoothly for Caleb and Jena until he accidentally triggers some of Jena's unresolved personal issues and she runs away leaving Caleb shattered and heartbroken. Not really what I had in mind when I asked that Caleb got what was coming to him!
This book has some very down right HOT sex, off the charts chemistry, amazing fall in love with forever characters, moments that touched my heart and made me cry buckets of tears, some laugh out loud moments, a little intrigue, and some very frustrating moments when you just want to scream REALLY guys???
waiting for Andi and Kevin's story is going to be absolute torture for me because I have NO patience, but you can bet I will be hitting the preorder button as soon as its available.

First off if you have for some reason NOT read Taming the Bachelor or Taming the Playboy you should because you are missing out. Ok Taming The Boy Next Door was a wonderful story. Caleb Allen is sweet, caring person will do anything for his Family and his closest Friends are his Family too. These guys have a bond that is pretty hard to break they have each others back. So after falling for Mark's Love Sophie only being onesided. Caleb gets a chance with his childhood crush after all these years but he finds out the chase was more fun then the catch. When Mark had his bad accident that's when Caleb meets Dr. Jena, she saved Mark's Life, but from the frist brush of their arms they each felt th electrical shock but did nothing as Mark's health was more important. Over the Next 6 months or so Caleb and Jena see each other at gatherings as Jena has become part of the friend circle something Jena never had. Caleb can no longer ignore what he feels when he is in the same room and at his b'day party he has Jena where he wants her and is surprised Jena is willing. This is where their story takes off. Jena never having a relationship before is willing to look at it as having fun. Caleb has a Kinky side we never knew, he likes total control in the bedroom and Jena is on board with it to experiencs and wants to know how it will be like being with a guy that is pierced ( pleasure department ) LOL. So Jena is keeping a secret about her past and it comes back to haunt her and her relationship Caleb. This is a great story and you really need to read it to see what hqppens. I am very happy that Caleb and Jena get there HEA but you have to go through Heart Break and loss to see what you had is worth fighting for. Well done MJ Carnal on another amazing book. Next book can't wait this series is Hot, Steamy, Sizzling and well worth the wait.

MJ Carnal knows how to write a story with great characters & that is hot & steamy as well as a storyline that grabs you from the beginning pages. I have enjoyed the books so far in this series. I loved Caleb & Jena, as well as the characters from the first two books in this series making appearances. I do not give star ratings for books I do not finish. Ok, I decided I have had enough of this series. The biggest issue I have is with all the finger pumping into the female characters. None of it sounds appealing, intimate, arousing or comfortable. The way it is described sounds like some teenager exploring things down there rather than men in their late 20s who are experienced. Not to mention it sounds like a forceful thing at times, the way it is written.

Then, in this book, Caleb's book, we are expected to believe he is dominant in the bedroom?! Huh?! This is the same guy who was too much of a pussy to tell Sophie he loved her in the first book? This is the same guy who acted like a silly teenager and jumped to conclusions when he saw Mark w a brunette and almost ruined things for Sophie and Mark? This is the same guy who is so caring and....sweet that he took care of both Mark and Ryan when they were down? I do not buy it. Just...no.

Hot, hot hot!!!!
This is the 3 book in the Taming Series. It continues the story of the Moretti brothers. Caleb Allen is finally getting his shot at love. Much to the pleasure of his friends. See since they were all young they swore they would all be bachelors for life. That is until one by one a special woman has caught there eye and brought them love and true happiness. What I love so much about this series is they truly make you believe in soul mates. That one person that is meant for you and fits you like a glove.
Caleb is a bit lost after having loved Sofie but not having his feelings returned. Caleb can sometimes be a hothead and because of that, there are repercussions that occur. One of these times leads him to meet Dr. Jena. There is a little secret about Caleb that blew me away and I didn't see it coming. (I don't want to give it away). His personality and what I've learned about him in the other books just didn't prepare me for this juicy tidbit. MJ Carnal is an amazing writer. I can't wait for the next book Taming the Casanova.

One Hot Caleb!
After reading Taming the Bachelor and Taming the Playboy I have to say that Caleb was really a pain in the ass. Not so in this book, Taming the Boy Next Door which is Caleb story. I was amazed how hot and sexy he was in this story with Dr. Jena. He really surprised me! I read alot of BDSM books and I have to say that Caleb has a little kinky side to him that nobody knew in the other two books. Plus he came to terms with what happened to his best friends Mark and Ryan and was able to move on about his guilt. Glad we are passed that!
I really am starting to love this series along with MJ's writing. This was a great book and I really enjoyed it. It had everything and more that you are looking if you are one that like to read romance with a touch of erotica.
This series just keeps getting better and better with each new book, they are like potato chips you can't just read one! Looking forward to Kevin's story next.

This isn't fav. So far.. I was so ready for Caleb's story especially after he didn't get shopie in the first book... This is also dr Jane's story to you meet her in book 2 Ryan's story..
Caleb is the perfect boy next door,sweet caring and,lovable.. He cares for all his "brothers". Perfect gentleman until you enter his do ain the bedroom..then he becomes Mr dominant with prince Albert. He is in complete control in the bedroom.
Then there's Jane ..smart sweet Dr Jane. She saves Marks life and becomes part of the clan. But there's a secret in her past that threatens her happiness. In book two you could feel the fireworks between her and Caleb.
They start off hot and steamy.Caleb even let's her take a little control in the bedroom.but something happens that brings the past to the forefront....can their new relationship survive this? Can Jane come clean with this secret and let it go?can Caleb wait on Jane to realize he is her HEA?

I love this book. The concept of the story and the characters are great.
From the start up to the last, it holds my interest.
The flow is good and it’s easy to understand.
The characters, they are great. I love their personalities especially Jena.
She’s sweet and strong. Caleb on the other hand, even though he’s
a bit of a player on the start he’s a loyal friend and a very caring brother to Andii.
I also love the way he treated the person he loves.
Also the other characters (Kevin, Andii, Lily, and the previous characters of the series) are great.
I really love how they were made/written..
The story, I love the story.. Gah, from the start up to the last it stayed really good.
Everything turned out great, the drama/issues and all..

Holy HOTNESS...boy next door?....yeah not exactly.
He may be just "the boy next door" to everyone but close those bedroom doors and things heat up and Mr. Caleb Allen turns into a sexy domineering beast. I've read Mark and Ryan's stories....and absolutely loved them both but I have to say that I think Caleb has them beat. He is your everyday best friend, big brother to everyone. Always care of everyone...putting everyone before himself. Well in this book we get introduced to the other side of Caleb Allen. The sexy controlling beast off a man. Who would have thunk it? It certainly was a great sexy surprise. I love how we get an insight into the lives of everyone in the group. I was finally happy to see Mark and Sophie tie the knot. Can't wait for more Zuckerman/Moretti books. Kevin and Andi are bound to have a sexy and probably pretty funny book. Their relationship sure is interesting.

It is Caleb's turn in this installment. He has held the group together after the almost tragic events of 'Playboy'. Dr Jena Turner was instrumental in those events and has quickly become part of the family. They grew closer together but neither came close to admitting that they felt more than friendship, even though it is obvious to those around them. Caleb has very dominant characteristics both inside and outside the bedroom. Jena has a secret that could mean that they can never be together given his traits. While she is confident on a professional level, personally she is wreck and has never really come to terms and accepted what happened to her. Until that happens they can never have a future together. I love watching the dominant Caleb soften around Jena and become really protective towards her, while Jenna comes to a number of realisations. This is an emotional read again and will have you in tears again.

You always smell like the beach." Her fingers wrapped through his belt loops and pulled him as close as she could." They have so much chemistry between them, that when they're together they're in their own little world, "holy s***. I vote for pull over." His pants became impossibly tight and he had to readjust himself." Sometimes Caleb has to tell Jena how much she means to him for her to get the gist of what his feelings are, "I'd kill for you, J. I'd lay down my life for you. You are everything to me. Don't you dare forget that." He's also a bossypants in the bedroom, "next time you come, baby. It will be on my face do you understand me? I hope Kevin's story is next.

Fabulous read I could not get enough I finished this within a few hours, Once I stared Dr Jenna and Caleb's story there was no looking back.
Caleb, we met him in book one and things did not really work out for him. He is one of the good guys who wears his heart on his sleeve.
He meets Dr Jenna at the end of book two after a near fatality within the Moretti family. She catches his eyes right away and he his not the type of guy to shy away from what he wants. He knows exactly what he wants from her and he isn’t shy about it.
This is one Hot steamy read that will pull you right in.
In my opinion this series only gets better with each book and so does MJ Carnal's writing. She has definitely come into her own in this book her writing has taken leaps and bounds.

5 stars of gorgeous man. This series is about some gorgeous, sweet and loving men that each find love in a different way!! Taming the boy Next Door is the story of Caleb's shot at love. It tells about Caleb and Jena and how there love story unfolds. Caleb meets Jena when his friend is injured and placed in the hospital. Caleb feels this pull towards Jena and will not let it go. Caleb and Jena go through there ups and downs in this story but there love is stronger then it all. I loved everyone of these books and everyone of these men. Taming the boy next door had me praying to find my happily ever after. Cant wait to see what MJ has in store for us in book 4. ~Raquel~

I absolutely LOVE the Morreti crew, but I'm not going to lie, I initially hated Caleb because of his actions in book 1. He redeemed himself in book 2 and by the end of book 3 I had fallen hard for him. It's always the quite ones that catch you off guard. Jena's backstory broke my heart. I'm so happy that she was finally able to heal and move on with her life. And oh, what a life it will be...surrounded by this amazing group of people who love their friends unconditionally! I'm so looking forward to Kevin & Andi's story now!!!

Caleb is everyone's safe go to guy, the girls love him and in this group of friends and family find him to be the most comforting. He meets Dr Jena Turner and is drawn to her but he has a bit of a dark side behind bedroom doors. Jena is hiding something terrible from her past that she needs to overcome. Caleb is a great guy and has been in this group of close friends since grade school. Their stories are fun and wonderful. I love Caleb and J together with this group of friends and family and how their lives intertwine. Love it

This story touches on the subject of rape with Jenna's past but doesn't go into detail, Jenna has always run from the closeness of a relationship throwing herself into work but with the support & help of the Moretti group of friends she finally gets the courage to run into Calebs arms instead of running away.
Another great story about a playboy who falls fast & hard.

I thought I loved Mark, and I thought I loved Ryan, then Caleb comes along and steals my heart. In General, I feel like the guy has been though a lot..... Then he meets Jena .... shes amazing ... I love the girl even when she rips his heart out unintentionally.
This was just an amazing book.... I'm leaving it at that, i dont want to end up giving too much away.

Loved it. Could not stop reading till I finished it and then I was upset because it was done.
I moved along at a really great pace from the very first word on the first page till the very last word on the last page. It has characters hat you fall in love with and want to see them happy no matter what and an amazing story, that does not let you down.

I never thought that Caleb would finally meet his match but Jena is perfect for him! I love how she consumes his whole existence and he doesn't want it any other way. Jena has a secret that she isn't ready to tell. She's willing to try to his lifestyle, even if it scares her.
I love all the characters in this series. They are such great friends and such a support for each other! I can't wait to see what happens next!! 4 out of 5!

Just when I think foresure..I know who my favorite is..a new book comes out and I change my mind.Allll I want is a Caleb for myself.My lord is he swoon worthy.Mj told there story beautifuly.Loved every page.Jenna and Caleb have a deep love and I really enjoyed reading all of it.Catching up with the other guys is another highlight.The way he asked Jenna to marry him was beautiful.Cant wait for more!!

Caleb redeems himself in this book. Still not my favorite of the Moretti clan, that belongs to Ryan. I think Dr. Jenna makes him happy. What I really like about this series is we get to see all the characters througout. Their weddings, babies and future relationships..Kevin and Andi. Dr. Jenna doesn't make things easy on Caleb, karma catches up to him after Sophie and with Mark's accident (which really wasnt' his fault)Im looking forward to Andie and Kevin.
