★★★★! Surrender My Love (stand-alone). A fast-paced, suspenseful & sexy read following Dr. Markson & nurse Chloe in their quest for the truth & love!

“She was beautiful. Beautiful and so… sweet. The thought added a dollop of guilt to the mixture of salacious images stirring in his brain.”

This is a stand-alone, but I recommend this reading order:
Book 1: Steal My Heart
Book 2: Surrender My Love

Surrender My Love opens up with Code Blue at Manhattan’s Washington Memorial Hospital. Nurse Chloe Bennett has been tending to one of her patients who was acting peculiar then went into cardiac arrest. Cardiac surgeon, Dr. Brad Markson is called in and Chloe and he have a heated exchange. They soon make amends realizing they were both distraught over their patient and later have wild sex against a wall.

But when more patients die under suspicious circumstance they find themselves teaming up to solve a mystery. Follow them on a fast-paced race in and out of the bed while trying to decipher who and what is behind it all… Surrender My Love offers a mixture of mystery, suspense, danger, romance and sizzling sex.

Dr. Brad Markson has the women pining and swooning, but I might have wished he did not have such insta-like or rather insta-protect of Chloe. Seven words to describe Brad: Commanding, demanding, compassionate, smart, sexy, non-committal and driven.

“This man was overwhelming. He had everything in excess and it wreaked havoc on her senses.”

photo kk11bysb_zps145c2ee2.gif
photo EugeneSurrendermyloveHeroinebySueBee_zps25e7418a.jpg

I instantly connected with innocent and nurturing Chloe Bennett only to feel a bit of a disconnect when she became a vixen and seductress. She also made some irrational decisions towards end, but on the other hand that kept the suspense going… Seven words to describe Chloe: Sweet, caring, smart, selfless, timid, feisty and loyal.

“The provocative sight of her hands on her body had made him so hard he was ready to pound nails.”

Surrender My Love has a wonderful conclusion. Aside from the insta-like/insta-protect I overall enjoyed their fast-paced sexy romance and suspenseful mystery!

“Brad! Be reasonable!” His chuckle was decidedly wicked.
“Oh, I intend to be anything but.”

4 Mysterious/ Twisting /McDreamy-McSteamy Doctor/Trustworthy Stars
* * * *
Some of the books I have read have made me think of award winning chefs designing new dishes for their restaurants. They have the idea of what it should be; appetizer, salad, main course or dessert. Then depending on what they choose, they must put all of the ingredients together to make the dish they envisioned.

It is a daunting task because there are only so many things one can do with the ingredients to make it new, fresh and different from all of the other dishes made with the same components.

When reading, I have found sometimes the characters connect but the plots are weak; or the plot and story really work but the steam factor doesn’t ever feel right. Or there is the book that is like a soufflé; all pretty on the outside, has all of the elements but once you really dig in… poof it just goes flat.

So when I started Surrender My Love, I knew what type of “dish” I was getting as the blurb described it as medical mystery with romance.

But What a Surprise! It had a plot with twists and turns that keep you thinking and trying to figure out where it was going. It had a male lead that would cause anyone to increase the amount of laundry available as he was a panty dropping, hard core, melting your briefs dream.

But I am getting ahead of myself……

The set up is Chloe Bennett, overworked and underappreciated by all...
The head nurse has a grudge against her because she is well liked
Her family situation is beyond tragic

With the loss of her father at 8 years old, leaving her to be the now-parent to her younger brother since her mother could not cope with the death. A critical ingredient in this mix was her mother then has a car accident causing severe brain trauma and the need for round the clock care.
Now all of these factors would create an interesting dynamic; however, there is more.

Chloe has a conflicted self image; yes, she has overcome great obstacles and seems to have “risen to the occasion” in handling all of them. She thought her happy ever after was near when she was about to be married … this was going to be it for her…. Yet that dream was destroyed when the man she had been engaged to called off the wedding one hour before the ceremony, leaving her to clean up the mess.

She was told she was nothing by the fiancé…

She was told she was repulsive by her brother...

She was told by the supervising nurse she was useless.

Chloe wanted to be more …
She cared for her patients; she was supportive of her coworkers; she put up with the crap her brother put her through knowing deep down there should be more.

More came in the presence of world renowned cardiac surgeon, Dr. Brad Markson. The handsome playboy whose reputation was demanding, controlling, respected and feared. He used his power and acclaim to make subordinates obey him and women crave him. He was strong, powerful and unobtainable for he had his own demons to contend with. Brilliant parents, noted as geniuses in the field of medicine, causing Brad to never rest..

He was driven to be the best …. Always.

The both of these characters collide when a long time patient of Dr. Brad’s codes. Chloe had been his nurse during the overnight shift and had become very attached to him. He suffered from Alzheimer’s and at 85 still had a little get up and go and was scheduled for release. Brad steamrolls in and demands to understand who was attending and how this happened. Chloe refuses to leave and attends to her patient’s end care, causing a ripple of shock as no one talks back to this man.

This is how these two meet. He is disturbed by what has taken place, yet at the same time he is taken by all the controlled fight and defiance of this woman. She is not a ravishing beauty by regular standards, yet her curtain of long dark hair and big eyes and slim build calls to him and he is surprised.

There are a few exchanges between them over this patient’s death and they start having of concerns of other similar deaths.

Early in this relationship, there is an event in Dr. Brad’s office that had me talking out loud ... I could not believe it was happening….

I. Am. Talking. Hot.

And it wasn’t even all that much… but the way it was written and the way it was so out of the blue, it was shocking …. in a great steamy way…..I was captivated by the characters and how they were attracted to each other. I also need to share… the way the two of them would be together…
Oh, My.

The story takes off from their suspicion of these multiple patients’ deaths and once this happens, everything moves and keeps you interested. I was intrigued and kept trying to figure out why these patients were dying. I felt like I was on a race track and need to stay the course because I wanted to know what was happening at all times. There were bad guys, ugly situations and multiple suspects.

I will say many of the added delights were the supporting characters. Bea, Dr. Brad’s amazing assistant, was perfect. She is sassy, smart, talks back to him and is his ying to his yang. His best friend from medical school is crazy in love with her and just doesn’t know how to deal. The interludes with these characters gave a humor and pathos that was real and sweet. There is potential for their story and the groundwork was laid in this one.

Was this book perfect; no. There were times I questioned if this or that would really take place. I also would get a little annoyed by Chloe’s actions with her brother.

Yet over all, I really felt the author created an enjoyable dish, giving me something I hadn’t had before; and most importantly, I will definitely be back to see what other recipes Ms. Lisa Eugene has up her sleeve.

Patients are dying and nurse Chloe finds herself caught up in the mess. Her knight in shining armour in the form of Dr Brad Markson is there to help. But.....
What. Will. Happen.
Who can Chloe trust with her life, her family and her heart???

Surrender My Love felt like a traditional, modern romance.... A no commitment kind of guy, successful and rich, is captivated by a lovely girl, who may not have any money or be sexually worldly, she may be vulnerable and feel unworthy but she's also brave, feisty, sassy and intelligent. It's not a new recipe but it's one that I love and swoon over and this author has executed it deliciously with her characters and super hot sizzling, magnetic scenes. I had lots of romantic heart flutters and a dose of eroticism..... Lovely. Let me tell you all about why???

The Hero...
Dr Brad Markson is a renowned, skilled, and influential cardiac surgeon with an ego to match. He's finding his sexual dalliances of late completely unsatisfying, if you know what I mean.... He's not quite finishing as he would like....

The Heroine
Chloe takes his eye.... But could they ever have anything more than a dalliance?

"Beautiful. She was a beautiful girl."

In her eyes, Chloe is plain and unworthy.... She's struggling with emotions from her past. Important men in her life have abandoned her, in death, and just because they changed their mind. She doesn't believe a man like Brad could ever be interested in her.... Is she right???

♥ The lovely feelings
There's intrigue and suspense in this story but, for me, their relationship is the starring factor and it was a real pleasure to read.... Their connection and sexual chemistry is off the charts..... To be honest I could have taken less of the intrigue and more angst within their relationship....

He says incredibly sexy, beautiful things to her. The author writes quite poetically in places; I often found a dreamy, swooning quality to it. ♥

Kissing... When they kiss it's sensually beautiful and downright hot!!!
I love a good book kiss description, it ticks a lot of boxes for me...
Romantic, heart fluttering, sexy, and erotic....

There's pure book chemistry going on... Chemistry of the body, heart, and soul. The sizzle factor with the warm fuzzies was dynamite.

♥ What's he referring to??? Well I'll leave it to your imagination but it was deliciously lovely!!!

So where is my missing star? Well it was the intrigue element... I can't quite put my finger on it, maybe it was slightly drawn out? Maybe it was some of the H/h's decisions? They didn't always seem completely true to form

I absolutely adore the dynamic of their relationship.I had a good feeling about this story and where it would lead me and I was right to trust that good feeling. Surrender My Love took me an a delightfully intriguing, romantic and very, very sexy journey.
Suspend reality... Relax and enjoy...

It wasn’t horrible.
It wasn’t great.
It wasn’t bad.
And it wasn’t good.

Basically.

The really great news is that a *lot* of people really liked this book (so who knows? You might LOVE it). The bad news is…

I just wasn’t one of them.

The Three Things That I Hated

Number One:

---> *Insta-Love* <---

This is how I feel about Insta-Love:

photo 4541809.gif

Okay, when there’s insta-love in a story… to *me*, that says that the author was just too lazy to build the relationship. There, I said it.

For example: In this book…

Page: 53
Third meeting between heroine and alpha male:

photo tumblr_inline_mvn5n4lNva1s294hr.gif

And I’m like:

*Somewhere, Linda Lovelace is rolling in her grave at the chance to star in “Surrender Your Love”, the movie. Prrrretty much.*

Bottom Line: The first intimate/sexual/romantic scene in a romance novel is a pretty big fuggin’ deal. Don’t waste my time by making into a bunch of bullshit.

Number Two:

---> *Exclamation Marks* <---

I think exclamation marks are over-rated. Especially in dialogue.

photo download-42.jpg

Damn! He was stressed! He vaguely wondered if he should increase the dose of his medication.
Pulling his cell phone from his pocket, he settled for a different option and dialed the familiar number to his current stress reliever.

“One hour. Be naked when I get there!” He snapped his phone shut and headed through the door.

photo download1-29.jpg

“Sorry? Sorry!” Dr. Markson’s voice boomed and Chloe shrunk back along with the rest of his swarm. The air crackled with his anger. “He’s scheduled for cardiac testing in a few hours that will now have to be postponed! And that’s because you could not ensure that my orders were carried out! Next time, I caution you to be more vigilant in your duties, nurse, or perhaps it may be to your benefit to repeat nursing school!”

Sadly, there’s probably not enough letters in the alphabet for me to exhibit all of the examples but gist of it is… 9/10 times, the pretty little “!” symbol doesn’t add bonus effect to a character’s emotions. Instead, it just makes them look unstable and makes anyone’s writing look cheesy.

But again, that’s just my opinion. :)

Last, But Not Least

The third thing that I couldn’t stand in this book was Dr. Markson.

At the beginning, he’s this angry/tough/sexy guy. Then he meets what’s-her-name (totally forgot the heroine’s name) and he’s just becomes a pile of mush. I mean, before they even sit down to have an actual conversation… he’s already coming home early from important business trips because he hears that what’s-her-name is upset about something.

LAAAAAAAAAME!

Bleh.

The Three Things That I Liked *cough* Kind Of

The cover. It’s pretty.

What’s-her-name because she actually had some sort of emotional depth to her. I mean, the girl should probably invest in some Kleenex stock, because she cries a lot but… she has reasons to cry, I guess.

The suspense. The suspense factor in this book probably saved it from my giving it only two stars because it’s what kept me interested. I thought the mystery of it was very well plotted.
____________________________________________

Do I recommend this book? Unfortunately, I don’t. I’d rather hate a book than forget about it. Sadly, this book is a bit too anemic and entirely too forgettable for my tastes.

4 stars for Dr. Brad Hottie Markson

OH.MY.GOD....He is beautiful.

photo DrBrad7_zps0409a8c6.jpg

This is the story of Nurse Chloe and Dr. Brad....and here it goes...
Everyone misjudged him. His reputation was one of a TOUGH, EGOTISTICAL, OVERACHIEVER, but she saw another side to him. He had a great deal of responsibility, people counting on HIM to literally save their lives. No one had EVER so passionately held a mirror before her or forced her to SEE beyond her preconceptions. For a moment, she had seen herself through HIS eyes. And whether she believed the image or not, she was moved that HE cared enough to reveal it.

photo DrBrad6_zpsa9381aa8.jpg

This woman made him crazy. The way his body responded to her was a mystery.....

"I don't think I can ever eat whipped cream again without thinking of you."

photo DrBrad2_zps1c3aeea4.jpg

His large hand shot out to grab her and she jolted as his touch burned her skin.

photo DrBrad3_zps5ada18f5.jpg

“The provocative sight of her hands on her body had made him so hard he was ready to pound nails.”

photo DrBrad5_zps23d13fb6.jpg

She was heaven. He knew, because he'd been to hell."

It was a war, because his lips and tongue wanted to remain right where they were, content to sup the tasty dew from her flesh and feel her hips humping wildly against his face

photo DrBrad_zps13d6dbdf.jpg

He captured her lips, slid the material aside, and delved two fingers into her moist heat, causing her to arch back.

"Ahhh.....just wondering how you'd fit."
Wondering how you'd fit....on the BED...Chloe clarified.
"I know for a fact i'll fit just fine."

photo DrBrad4_zps63f9d38e.jpg

DOCTOR photo: doctor doctor_1.jpg

The man touched her deeply. She never knew what to expect from him. There was a simmering intensity beneath every emotion.

4.5 who-done-it, I-wanna-do-him stars!

What you do get when you take an arrogant yet hot cardio-thoracic surgeon, add a feisty yet compassionate nurse, and mix in a little unexplained deaths within their hospital? A great mystery/suspense novel! Add their chemistry to the mix and it's combustible!

Photobucket Pictures, Images and Photos

Dr. Brad Markson is a world renowned heart surgeon. He's virtually untouchable...staff fear him and his harsh words, perfectionism, yet his patients worship him. But when a patient of his dies suddenly for no apparent reason, he's out for blood. Unfortunately the young brunette nurse caring for the patient at the time of his death gets the bulk of his wrath. He wants answers NOW. But she stands up to his tirade...he's not used to a backbone. But he still wants answers.

Nurse Chloe Nelson has had the night from hell. Her confused patient just spontaneously codes and dies before her eyes. It's makes no semse ...and then the arrogant SOB Dr. Markson comes in with his entourage of residents wielding the blame wherever it sticks! Calgon, take me away. As if life isn't stressful enough. Her mother is in advanced stages of Alzheimer's and her brother is basically useless in his drug addicted state. She's keeping everything afloat on a nurse's salary and she's ready to crumble under pressure.

I REALLY enjoyed this book. I approached it tentatively as I myself am a nurse and was afraid of the frequent faus pas of medical wrongness in books..if it doesn't happen in real life medicine, I will not enjoy it. This was NOT the case. It was very realistic (except I hope there isn't many killers in any hospital lurking on unsuspecting elderly people). Brad Markson is the typical heart surgeon with the God complex but under the scrubs lies a person barely holding it together under all the pressure. Chloe was the epitome of strength, trying to work the graveyard shift, support herself and her mother (not to mention enabling her brother).

The book is a suspense novel based on unexplained deaths within the hospital. When everything points to Chloe, Brad rallies with her to prove someone is framing her. Their relationship starts out on a very cold note but quickly heats up! I love the combination of mystery and suspense along with romance and heat! She keeps the pages turning as you fall for the couple but also want answers to who is behind the deaths. She kept us on the edge of our seats until the very end.

But can this feisty nurse that will fight to the end for her patients, but deep-down feels she's boring and unworthy...bring this tough renowned surgeon to his knees? He doesn't do relationships...doesn't NEED to, but can he resist Chloe?

**As a side note, the author sets up a side story of Brad's secretary Bea and his friend Dr Larry. I would LOVE their story. She's so snarky and he's so goofy in love with her. Pretty please?

Dr. Brad Markson, YAY!!!

photo adam-levine-gif-7.gif

He kept me hooked! <3

This story is a well-written, it has action, mystery, a moody and hot doctor, a darling nurse, love and secrets.

Dr. Brad Markson is one fine cardiac surgeon. While he was busy in surgery, he loses one of his close patient. That patient was under the care of Chloe Bennett.

photo ae89d3e580d8ed0755c3357a9fa91033.jpg

What a twist. Brad and Chloe meet and he wants to question her further. The more he digs in, the more he realises that there are many patients dying with the same symptoms. The closer they become in solving the case, the deeper their connection gets.

photo large-3.gif

"Is that what you want? Someone's hands all over you?"

"No tears, Chloe. I won't have you running off in tears. The only crying you'll do when you're coming around my cock"

Yup yup you these two are steamy!

photo tumblr_mn4wg6ETAJ1r8el0do1_500-1.gif

All of a sudden Chloe finds herself in a situation that she see it coming. She was framed and is in the verge of losing her job. How will Brad and Chloe find a solution for this? Or will Chloe just run away?

"You pull that shit again, and I'll bend you over my knee and paddle your ass. We're in this together"

Will I Recommend? YES YES YES

Happy reading!

I was given an arc by the author in exchange for an honest review, so here I am being honest, I looked at the cover, read the blurb and said to myself NO! NO! NO!

This is going to be utter torture, why? your sitting there asking yourself..

Because this isn't what I would normally read, I love my dark, gritty books full of angst..

Ok so getting over that small hurdle I sat down on the couch with the book on my kindle and started reading, I looked up at the clock and sighed that an hour had gone by and I had to get up and do my chores for the day, that hour went so damn fast!! And like a headless chook I ran round doing my chores as fast as I could so that I could get back to that couch and this book and I kept reading and reading and reading!!

God I don't know where to start, but I will say that when I first came across that arrogant Doctor Brad Markson I wanted to jump in the book and bitch slap him since
Nurse Chloe Bennett didn't but after calming down and getting lost in the book he starts to grow on you, you just need to breathe through him being a ass about 20% in you have those awwwww moments about him!!

Now in my mind he's Mc Dreamy off Greys Anatomy!! So I'm just going to run with that..

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

I had all these passages out of the book saved to put on my review but then sitting here thinking about it if I do that I think it kind of takes it away from what's zooming through my head..

This book wasn't just your normal boring romance which would've pushed me over the edge, so thank you Lisa Eugene (Author) for making this better than the norm, I really enjoyed this book!! And will even go so far as to say that I will definitely read something else from this author..

I hope my rambling did this book justice..

Well that was a bit of a roller coaster ...

An erotic, heart-felt romance, wrapped up in a dangerous murder-mystery. This is not typically the type of story you'd expect from the title - especially not with that hot cover! I went into this book having read only a few reviews, fully expecting hot & heavy, sexy romance with just a bit of suspenful drama ... holy hell! There was so much suspense ... murderer(s) to be found ... a mystery to unravel ... family drama to unfold ... a police chase ... sneeking ... lying ... hiding ...
And in the midst of it all ... a beautiful romance in full bloom.

Dr. Brad Markson stole my heart a little. All the confidence and bravado hiding a deeply passionate and caring man. The way he takes care of Chloe had me melting inside.

"You, Chloe, deserve a love who is willing to risk everything for you."

I'll be honest though. While I wanted to love this story, sadly I only really liked it. I found myself getting annoyed with Chloe after a while. How could a woman who's withstood so much be so insecure? Her inability to grow for most of this book bothered me. And honestly, the suspense got a bit boring at mid-point & I found myself wanting to skip ahead & find out 'who-done-it' just to get it over with.

Not quite what I was expecting ... but Brad certainly made it a worthwhile read.

Once again Lisa Eugene ("Eugene") delivers a novel that's full of suspense, mystery and hot-sizzling passion. In comparison to her last two novels, "Surrender My Love" centers more on the mysterious hospital deaths than on the budding romance between Brad and Chloe, both very likeable characters. Nevertheless, Eugene does a wonderful job of weaving an intriguing tale that also happens to include Chloe's private and personal struggles caring for her disabled mother, dealing with a brother who's unemployed and who demands money from her on a daily basis all the while ridiculing and demeaning Chloe every chance he gets. If that's not bad enough, Chloe's on the run from the police who want to arrest her for the hospital deaths. Brad, who finds himself falling hard for Chloe, is doing his best to clear Chloe of all the charges, while also struggling to find happiness and balance from his over-demanding career once he realizes that there's more to life than pushing and striving to be number 1. What really makes this story more interesting is Bea, Brad's personal assistant, and Larry, his best friend. The antics between the two were refreshing and added a little comic relief. I only wish they both had bigger roles as I couldn't help but laugh when it came to these two.

Like the male protagonists in the two previous novels, Brad is definitely sexy and swoon-worthy, who also has the alpha-male gene in him that's oh-so sexy. As for Chloe, even though I found her to be likeable, intelligent and strong, especially when it comes to dealing with her job and difficult home life, her bouts of crying became a little grating by the end - understandable but still grating.

There's one issue that bothered me which is neither doctor or nurse had one condom between them every time they had sex. A doctor who's notorious for sleeping around doesn't have even one condom in his wallet, car, or in his apartment? Instead he pulls out of Chloe each time he's about to come. Seriously? And being an inexperienced lover doesn't get Chloe off the hook in my books.

At the end of the day this novel is still deserving of the 5 stars I give it.

If you haven't read any of Eugene's novels, you're truly missing out. Even though all three novels are stand-alones and can be read in any order, I suggest you start with "Strictly Business" as it's off-the-charts hot! So totally worth the $1.00 it's selling for on Amazon right now.

I've thoroughly enjoyed all three of Eugene's novels and I look forward to reading her next novel which can't come soon enough.

Have you read Surrender my Love yet? No?! Well what are you waiting for? Lisa Eugene has hit the nail on the head with this romantic suspense! Not only that, she also gave us a handsome, broody doctor and a sweet, devoted nurse and she tilts his world on its axis.

Chloe meets Dr Brad Markson under very bad circumstances. She was caring for a patient, in his room and talking with him, when he dies. Chloe has no idea what happened and Brad is angry! But why are other people looking at her like she’s guilty? And in the days to follow, why are more patients dying with the same symptoms?

Chloe is constantly told she needs a life and to let loose a little. What she does is let loose quite a bit and ends up in a compromising position with Brad outside the club. It shocks the hell out of Brad, especially when she thanks him and leaves! But, he doesn’t do relationships, so he’s fine with that. Suddenly, he finds that all he can think about is having Chloe again.

Chloe goes to Brad in hopes to clear her name and try to get to the bottom of what’s going on. He wants to help her and protect her. And, she soon learns that she is in over her head and the outcome is not looking good. She already has enough to deal with and now she’s being sought after.

I enjoyed this story from beginning to end! Give me a romantic suspense, coffee and a warm blanket on a cold day and I am good to go! I hope you enjoy this book as much as I did. 5 out of 5 stars!!

Hot and hot and hot!!!! What a great story. I was up all night reading this latest from Ms. Eugene! I loved the flawed main characters and the interesting secondary characters. Chloe's been hurt, has low self-esteem, but has no trouble standing up for what she believes in. Brad **sigh** is a man every woman wants at her side. Apart from being AMAZING in bed, he's tender, loving, and not without his own flaws. Ms. Eugene has weaved a wonderful mystery with many HOLY SHIT moments! I really enjoyed the ride!

Surrender My Love is an amazing, fast paced and thrilling story that completely sucked me in from the very beginning.

From the sassy Nurse Chloe to the sexy Dr. Brad Markson and all in between:
suspense, lust, angst, hate and love, this book has it all.

It will keep you reading, guessing, wondering and leave you spent and satisfied. Oh yes, it will...

I'd reccomend Surrender My Love to anyone who has a likeness for "romantic suspense with a little bit of kink" ;)

I was a beta reader and editor for this book, so I cannot write a proper review. However, I will say that I liked this one better than the past two--though it was a stand-up fight between Maggie/Gabe and Chloe/Brad for "Mia's Favorite Couple." But Chloe and Brad won out, because there were elements I could better relate to. I really enjoyed working on this story.

I started skimming when I got to the part of Chloe
ran away as a fugitive.
She was just too much for me. Usually I can take extremely insecure heroines fine because I know their behavior is a product of past conditioning but with this one it was just too much. They had the same information the reader had at all times and yet they were stupider than the readers and didn’t reach the frame up conclusion until it was glaringly obvious. Brad was generally wonderful. I felt bad for them because they weren’t smart enough to know that you talk about feelings. I don’t like people like this who are afraid of putting themselves out there. So what if they don’t feel the same way??? What do you objectively lose when you weren’t in a relationship anyway? So you’ll be mortified for a little while, that’s nothing compared to the peace of mind from being able to move on from the confusion of not knowing where you stand. I hate it when people don’t respect themselves enough to believe they can get through such embarassment or loss of a boyfriend.

Wow I really enjoyed that! Got me hooked from the first page. And so many plot twists! I will be honest, there were times which I find slightly boring, which is why I gave it 4 stars, but overall a very enjoyable read and I was very pleased with the ending.

In Surrender My Love Lisa brings us a romantic suspense thriller that will leave you sitting on the edge of your seat wanting to know what happens next. Who did it? How did they do it? Will they be caught? How many more innocent people will die? Yes, almost like the game of Clue throughout the story you are given insights to what is happening and why its’ happening. There are those shock factors that left my jaw on the ground and those steamy factors that had my panties melting.

Nurse Chloe Bennett loves what she does for a living. She loves helping and healing the patients at WMH. Are a string of sudden unexplained deaths that seem be happening around her she is starting to wonder if their deaths were more than just “old age”. All patients having suffered the same symptoms right before their code blue the pieces just aren’t adding up. Having to not only take care of the patients at the hospital but also her mother who suffered a brain injury years ago and has never been the same Chloe starts to question everything.

Dr. Brad Markson is dark and mysterious and so sexy. After the sudden death of one of his patients he becomes concerned with what is happening with the patients at WMH. Meeting the shy and innocent Nurse Bennett leaves not only him starting to question the death of his patient but the response he has towards Chloe. He doesn’t do relationships and surely Chloe is much too innocent for him and what he would like to do to her. Something about her draws him to her and he finds himself wanting to push the boundaries between doctor and nurse work code.

Things start happening faster and faster around the hospital and everything is pointing the guilty finger towards Chloe and things are not looking good for her when patients are dropping like hot cakes. She can’t afford to be taken away and lose her job – her mother’s health depends on her and her income. As Chloe and Brad start working closely together to find out exactly what is happening around the hospital, sparks start the fly and they start giving in to the cravings that their bodies want. When I almost thought they had everything discovered and Chloe would finally be safe there was more jaw dropping moments that left me saying…

The passion and chemistry between Chloe and Brad is electric. Although there aren’t a lot of steamy sex in this book the times that they do come together it’s off the charts. My panties started to melt and I found myself wanting to suddenly play a game of sexy doctor and naughty nurse. I loved how Brad made Chloe feel beautiful and wanted even when she was questioning everything. He built her up from the broken woman she was when they first met. He was very protective of her and wanted nothing more than to shield her from any danger and harm that always seemed to be lurking around the corner. I so enjoyed the times like this…

The suspense factor to Surrender My Love was jaw dropping. There were a few times that I thought I had everything figured out and then boom another dead body and another curve ball were thrown my way. Lisa did an excellent job with the story line and didn’t let up until the very end. I clearly had no idea who was involved until the very end of the story. The flow of the story was excellent and Lisa’s writing style was spot on. I was never much into Romantic Suspense but I think I am going to like this genre if this is what I get to read.

The only thing I was there was more of in Surrender My Love in more steamy sex scenes – NO I don’t think it would make the story better – I am just a horny toad that likes her sex and Brad is flippin hot and anytime I can get him naked and panting would make anything better. Great job Lisa – excellent book. If you are looking for a great romantic suspense than you need to read Surrender My Love. If you haven’t read this genre yet I say give it a try. It’s great reading something with a different story line – almost like watching House but add in a sexy doctor…

A little suspense….

And of course…..

And all the what the heck just happened factors and you will have Surrender My Love by Lisa Eugene!
Great job Lisa!

The story revolves around a hospital and all its happenings. Which there are a lot normally but this is a lot more than usual. There is deaths, maybe a murder, love sex, the lovelorn, the horny, oh yeah ill people and people getting well.
Most of all this story revolves around Chloe Bennett a 26 year old naïve yet wise old soul who is a nurse who works nights and any other extra shifts she can get to support her mother, brother and herself. You see her mother was severely handicapped in a car accident which caused her to be mentally challenged. So, she has in house care as much as she can for her. Yet, she never ask for help except for her no good brother Richard who is into drugs.
None of her friends at the hospital even know that she had a fiancé before she started working at the hospital. She had dated him for three years and they got engaged and then the day of the wedding she was left at the alter he said he just didn’t love her and couldn’t go through with it. Then, he just upped and moved away out of state. She was left to tell everyone return all the gifts and everything. She was humiliated and felt less than nothing. Richard every chance he got told her she was revolting and worthless.
Which just killed her because at 8 her father passed away and their mother went into a deep depression and Chloe had to take care of everything washing, cleaning, cooking and balancing the checkbook the best she could she took care of Richard. Once he found drugs he just beat her down verbally. She could not catch a break and she needed him to help her with her mother. So, she had to take his foul mouth.
Then, she meets the other person in this story Dr. Brad Markson an alpha male if there ever was one. He’s rude to everyone, mean, demanding and not a very nice human being. He is wonderful at his job as a cardiac surgeon.
He doesn’t like relationships, he does like sex and he likes it hard, fast, and with no strings attached. He knew he was going to have to dump the current lady he was seeing, Diane, for she was getting clingy. When he meets Chloe, she’s the nurse to one of his patients he loses, a friend too. At first he is angry with her for she is not complying with his demands for answers when he wants them. But then he understands that she just wants to make sure that his friends and hers and their patient is laid to rest, after the emergency procedures were done, were cleaned up. He was glad though that she stood up to him not happy but glad that she took care of their friend and had the balls to do it. He did admire that in her, no one else ever seemed to bother to challenge him.
From that first day he can’t stop thinking about her. When she comes to his office to confront him about checking up on her and possibly getting her fired she is upset. They get it settled but now his mind and both his heads are sore from wanting her. He was not the only one that could not stop thinking and dreaming about the other.
As a secondary not and comic relief there is the unrelationship of Bea and Dr. Larry. Bea is the beautiful black woman who is larger than life. She is a single mom and a secretary to Dr. Brad. Now mind you she is only a temp who threatens to quit everyday as they banter and yell at one another (which he loves by the way.) By the way it’s a ruse, they both love and respect one another very much. She has been with him 3 years and he pays her double the amount he paid the last full time secretary.
Now his best friend Dr. Larry a very white man is in a mad crush with Bea. Yet, he is scared to death of being rejected. Therefore, comes up with all these ways to try to get up the nerve to ask her out. Let’s just say the first try lands her in the ER.
This is an interesting book, it is filled with intrigue, lust, sadness, frustration, erotica, extremely funny in areas, and mystery. The “Who done it?” is one that keeps you on your seat, I thought I knew who but wasn’t sure. It was a nail bitter and when I found out I was, “Well crap, I knew that but not that!”

WOW! What an excellent book!! LOVE!!!!!

Chloe Bennett is a nurse at Washington Memorial Hospital working mostly the night shift. She is very well liked and has a difficult personal life. She makes sure her mother, who has been through brain surgery and is now basically an eight year old, has constant care. She has always and continues to take care of her younger brother. She pays the bills, organizes Dr.’s appointments and home health care visits and takes shifts to care for her mother. She has no social life and since she is still heartbroken that her fiancé left her at the alter she isn’t looking for any sort of romance either. However, she is getting tired of being called old and getting picked on for having no social life at her young age.

During a normal work night she is caring for one of her patients, Mr. Barkley, when he codes. His Dr. is none other than the famous and world-renowned Dr. Brad Markson. Dr. Markson is extremely upset at the death of Mr. Barkley and takes his anger out on Chloe. After, well yelling, at her he dismisses her but later orders the chart for Mr. Barkley and feels guilty for treating her so badly when she didn’t do anything wrong. He calls her into his office to apologize but they also discuss other strange deaths that have gone on at the hospital.

Dr. Markson is very passionate when it comes to work. He has plenty of women in his bed but refers to them in the same category as going to the gym. It’s stress relief…..but for the past couple months he hasn’t been able to complete that particular task. Usually giving up and taking a cold shower. That is until he meets Chloe who isn’t intimidated by him. Not only does she not allow him to put his anger on her but she also doesn’t fall at his feet the way most women do by only wanting to bed him and get trinkets from him. For Brad, she’s the only woman that he’s been able to become “satisfied” with for months. For Chloe, who has only had one other partner, she is still very innocent and Brad brings out the bold sexy woman in her she didn’t even know existed.

Together they begin trying to figure out why the seemingly healthy elderly are suddenly dying. This sets off events neither of them could imagine. Neither of them can seem to stay away from each other. They end up at the same club or the same conference. She goes to his office to talk about the patients or he schedules his rounds extra early so he’ll see her. Of course all this sexual tension is going to burst at some point and boy does it!!! Hot! Hot! HOT!!!!

His open palm landed hard on her bare buttocks and she gasped with the shock of it, the sting racing hot through her body. She had no time to voice a complaint because he drove impossibly deep and undiluted pleasure chased the pain, causing her to arch her back and sink her nails into the corded muscle of his thigh. Her lips parted with a long saturated moan and she squeezed her eyes shut. "You don’t listen very well, do you?" he rasped against her ear. "You seem to have a fondness for disobedience.”

However, can they form a real relationship? Can the guy that “doesn’t do relationships” fall in love? Can the girl that’s been left at the alter trust again?

There’s a lot I can’t say about this book without giving out spoilers. But with pharmaceutical giants coming after her, not knowing which co-workers she can trust, a strange old man that loves animals, her brother possibly being on drugs; again, her mother’s constant care, the hospital and it’s rules, and the POLICE!!!! Can life get back to normal and will Brad be there for her? Will she finally surrender her love??

This book is fantastic! So good that I read it in less than 2 days—it’s hard to put down. I definitely recommend this book to everyone, as you will not be disappointed!!

Ever pick up a book and realize you are starting partway through a series? Do you get that, “Oh, No!” feeling, wonder what to do, what you are going to miss, not understand? Relax, I picked up Surrender My Love by Lisa Eugene and not only did I survive, but I thrived on this author’s work! This is definitely a stand-alone within what looks to be winning a series!

Elderly patients who should be thriving are becoming disoriented, agitated and are hallucinating, terrified, then suddenly dying from heart failure. Was it their time or is there a nefarious plot going on behind the scenes? The only common denominator police find is a dedicated and well-liked nurse, Chloe Bennett. They think they may have the who, but they need the how and the why.

Doctor Brad Markson is a world renowned cardiac surgeon who becomes incensed when he loses one of his patients, making Chloe the scapegoat for his anger. As these two butt heads, they discover there is more to these deaths than meets the eye and there is more to their relationship than adversaries turned allies. Will these two find love in the middle of death? Have they become targets, themselves? The clock is ticking and Chloe may have called in her last Code Blue as these two race against the odds to find the real murderers. Who can they trust? Who will turn against them?

I was completely taken by Lisa Eugene’s style, as she takes the reader on a connect the dot mystery in the gossip-filled corridors of hospital politics, the ethics of large drug companies and the lives of two medical professionals who are determined to bring the truth to light. The sensual heat hits the red zone as the hot and sexy surgeon and beautiful and strong-willed nurse play a sizzling game of “doctor” with each other. Fast-paced, full of surprises with unlikely allies and enemies alike, PLUS a well-thought out plot, Lisa Eugene has a hot on her hands with Surrender My Love as part of a series or as a stand alone read.

I was given this book by the author in exchange for an honest review

Lisa Eugene is becoming an author who I stalk on Facebook because I want to know when her next book will be released. That's how much I like her writing. She knows how to write characters that a romance-lover wants. And her work flows so well.

I love the Washington Memorial Hospital Series! Steal My Heart was great and now we've got Surrender My Love... This story introduces us to Nurse Chloe Bennett. She's a hard worker budgeting her time between taking care of her patients and her mother, who has reverted back to a young child mentally due to an accident many years prior. Chloe cares more for those two aspects in her life than she does for herself, which is so common that I couldn't help but want her to find true love... And in walks the super hot, super sexy, super yummy Brad Markson... okay he more like trampled in. See, Brad is the #1 heart surgeon in the world so he can be a big a**hole almost 95% of the time, but really he's such a softy.

Boy oh boy! The romance left me panting. It was done so well. I really detest cheesy romance novels where you can just see the BS from a mile away. Lisa knows what she's doing when it comes to the hotness levels that arise from this book.

But there is an actual story to this novel. When patients start dying on both Brad and Chloe, lies become truth and the truth becomes lies.. That sounds so cryptic, but it's the way this story works. The two of them must work together to figure out why these patients are dying and who is behind it all. There's so much mystery and suspense and in the end you're going to be like.. "I never saw that coming!!" Lisa always has the bad guys playing the least obvious character, so the whole time you believe it's one character and then POOF it's something you thought you could trust your firstborn child with.

Overall, I'm going to give this 4 STARS out of 5 STARS. Lisa has amazing talent. I hope others read this and take a chance on her work because she is one of a kind. Check out her other book Steal My Heart and Strictly Business.

**JUST BOOKED received an ARC for an honest review**

“…AM I SO PLAIN…I NOT EVEN MAKE BLIP ON HIS RADAR..”

Surrender My Love is about Chloe Bennett a twenty-six year old nurse working a Washington Memorial Hospital living a life as best as she can even when life has dealt you a bad hand. Chloe has many responsibilities in her young life, one being the main source of income for her family, a parent to her younger brother, and a caretaker for her mother. Chloe has a low self-esteem about herself, because she has taken others comments as whom she is like prudish, repulsive, and unlovable with a lifestyle of old woman. Chloe learns a little more about herself when she meets Washington Memorial’s finest cardiac surgeon, Dr. Brad Markson.

Dr. Markson is not only made great advances in cardiac surgery and an expert in Robotic Coronary Artery Bypass Surgery at the young age of thirty-four, but is also the best cardiac surgeons in the country. Dr. Markson may be brilliant, but he is also egotistical, domineering, and implacable. Dr. Markson may be crude, but he is “panty-wetting” gorgeous, tall, tanned, a chiseled body, with dark thick wavy ink black hair, dangerous dimples, voluptuous lips, and dark blue eyes.

Chloe meets Dr. Markson while caring for one his patients, a patient that they both have many feelings for different reasons. Those feelings will start a spark between the two, because they both know the untimelyness of the patient’s illness left them with many questions and not enough answers. Together they try to uncover why the hospital they work for seems to have an increase in deaths, in addition uncovering their own personal discoveries with each other. Will Chloe learn that she deserves to have love in which others are willing to risk everything for her? Will Dr. Markson learn that sometimes curing the world is a little easier when you find your true love in the world?

“Love is for fool. Relationships are not for me.” – Dr. Markson

“…face could have been sketched by an artist, a perfectionist with a love for the human form.” – Chloe

Author Lisa Eugene romance novel, Surrender My Love, has done an AMAZING job writing an ON THE EDGE OF YEAR SEAT ROMANCE capturing your attention immediately, and find yourself unable to put the book down. You will also experience a roller coaster of emotions from feeling SCARED, SADNESS, SUSPENSE, SHOCKED, TRAGEDY, ACTION, HUMOR, and TENDERNESS.

I rate Lisa Eugene’s novel, Surrender My Love – 5 AMAZING STARS!

SURRENDER MY LOVE, by Lisa Eugene is the third and final book of the 'Washington Memorial Hospital' series. It is not necessary to read the books in order, however, I found that reading SURRENDER MY LOVE last, tied the three together nicely, making a great finale to the series.

I enjoyed all the 'Washington Memorial Hospital' books, but I especially liked SURRENDER MY LOVE. I was immediately endeared to the main character, Chloe. She is a sweet, hard working, and caring nurse. The kind of nurse everyone wants attending to their loved ones. I was not so quickly endeared to Dr. Brad Markson. When we're introduced to him, he is arrogant, demanding, and rude. It took awhile for me to realize that he is passionate about his work. He puts forth his best efforts and expects no less from others that work with him. Just as Chloe is the kind of nurse everyone would like to have, Dr. Brad is the kind of doctor we all wish for ourselves and loved ones.

Chloe and Brad have a chemistry that is not all about medicine. I was quite surprised when sweet Chloe became quite wicked in the steamy romantic scenes in SURRENDER MY LOVE. I don't usually read books with such graphic sex scenes, but I found that it was hard to skip over them in this book. Lisa Eugene is a fantastic writer and even the graphic sex scenes were well written and enhanced empathy with the characters.

Chloe and Brad each have battles of their own in their personal lives. Chloe is handling family issues with a deadbeat brother and a disabled mother. Brad is struggling to find happiness and balance in his life. Neither of them have time for more discourse in their lives, but they soon encounter loads of it. Patients at Washington Memorial Hospital are mysteriously dying and Chloe is wrongly suspected. She must go on the run and Brad has the fight of his life trying to clear her name and find the real culprit. As the two work together to solve mystery of the patient deaths, chemistry between them ignites.

SURRENDER MY LOVE is a medical romantic suspense that is hard to put down. I have loved Eugene's 'Washington Memorial Hospital' series and this book was a great conclusion. I have found all of Lisa Eugene's books to be fast paced, extra spicy, and full of suspense. I can hardly wait to read another book by her.

I was given a copy of this story in exchange for an honest review.

This was a brilliant fast paced story that was sexy, hot and filled with so much drama and suspense I just couldn't put it down.

I adored the characters in this book. I really felt for Chloe, she was such a kind character who had been dealt so many hard blows in her life and had little self esteem but you loved her because of how caring and kind hearted she was. I really enjoyed seeing her come out of her shell when she was around brad and her sometimes fiery attitude just added another dimension to a wonderful character.

Brad is one hell of a sexy alpha male. Not only is he a doctor who you could tell cared for his patients deeply, he was also funny and so sexy. The way he stands up for Chloe and how angry he gets on her defence made me fall in love with him even more.

The story line itself was brilliant. The sex scenes were unbelievably hot, I love a dominant male and brad was one of the best dominants in the bedroom I've read about because he was sexy but also believable. The scene with his tie was one of my favourites because it was sexy and hot but cute at the same time.

The story line behind who was killing the patients was my favourite aspect of this story. I had no idea who was behind it all and it kept me guessing the whole way through. I would settle on someone and then a twist would come and I would change my mind again. It was fast paced and there was always so much going on.

I couldn't believe the ending but I loved it and was so glad we got all the answers we were looking for. I was also glad that there was a epilogue, it was the perfect ending for Chloe and brad. My only complaint is that I wish we got an insight to their future but that's just because I loved the characters so much and didn't want to leave them.

A brilliant story, with in-depth characters that you will fall in love with. I would 100% recommend this book and can't wait to read more from this author.

The third book in the Washington Memorial Hospital series is once again a perfect, hot and steamy read. This story is about Chloe (a 'normal' nurse who lives in a small apartment, doesn't have money to burn, a mum to look after and a brother to deal with) and Brad (a top notch surgeon, more money than he knows what to do with, high expectations from his parents, fantastic penthouse etc).

This story starts in a dramatic fashion and continues in the same vein. Chloe is being framed for murder, everyone thinks she's crazy and to top it off, she has the hots for a man far beyond her reach... or so she thinks. There are the usual twists and turns that I would expect from a Lisa Eugene novel. I say expect only because I haven't read one yet that followed a straight line, not that I think her twists are expected or predictable because they're not. You will be kept guessing until the end.

A really good story with characters from the first two showing up (Nina and Maggie plus other halves) and I loved how Lisa created a mini timeline even from them. Book 1 is about Nina, book 2 is about Maggie, who meets Nina and she is pregnant. In this book Nina and Chloe are friends, but she also meets Maggie as she is looking for Brad. Nina turns down a night out as her mum is looking after her little boy. Just small bits of information but I loved it!

Some wonderful new secondary characters as well in this one, Larry and Bea, as well as a reappearance from everyone's favourite detective Sullivan.

Definitely recommended for all lovers of Contemporary Romance and Suspense who like things to get hot!
