Love by the Books #3

The First Date

Rate this book
How could a first date with the woman of your dreams possibly go wrong?

Abby Jennings can’t believe her luck. She’s going back to school to become a librarian, and right in the middle of busy college life (that she has to re-learn all over again), she finds herself falling for an absolutely gorgeous woman—who appears to be interested in her! When Jane asks Abby out on a date—a real first date, this time--she’s over the moon.

But as the night of the date unfolds, and the chemistry between Abby and Jane begins to grow, everything is too good to be true.

Which is when Jane’s terrible ex-girlfriend appears…

“The First Date” is a sweet, funny short story, the third in the “Love by the Books” series, about the adventures of two women falling in love. It is approximately 5,000 words long (about an hour of reading or so).

Hello dear reader, I’m Ruby and I’m so excited to share my stories with you. I’ve been writing stories since forever. My first was about a magical talking cat who had these crazy adventures. My stories don’t have talking cats anymore, but I still love an adventure.

When I was in college, I courted this amazing girl in college by dragging her on these crazy hikes through the woods on the edge of campus. Climbing over logs was really just an excuse to have to hold her hand and help her over obstacles. More than ten years later we recently celebrated our fifth wedding anniversary and the crazy adventures have just kept getting bigger and better.

We live in a little white house surrounded by trees, filled with cats, wool, and loose leaf tea. My passions in life are my wife, my knitting, and my writing. I daydream about having a little hobby farm with a few sheep and a huge vegetable garden.

I’m really excited to be working with Rose + Star Press, and I’m grateful to them for giving me the gentle nudge that it took to get me to start sharing my work. I hope that you enjoy reading my stories as much as I enjoy writing them.
