The Immortal Contract

Rate this book
What she wanted: A night away from the stress of a full-time job, grad school, and helping to care for her 18-year-old autistic sister. Oh, and a cure for her clumsiness and out of control curls would be nice.

What she got: An attempted kidnapping, a strange realm filled with mystical creatures, and a stranger telling her he held a dictate with fine print she preferred not to read. Marry this guy and conceive a magical heir? Ha! Not likely.

What he wanted: An obedient woman, for starters. The contract was never his idea, but the fate of his world depended on their compliance.

What he got: The impossible task of training a too-spirited woman to channel her deep power. A sassy mortal who can’t comprehend the lengths this powerful canine shape-shifter will go to protect the ones he holds dear.

Will they find the middle ground before they violate The Immortal Contract?

When not writing, USA Today Bestselling author Amanda Torrey enjoys spending time with her adult kids and her real-life hero. She loves reading, playing in nature/hugging trees, traveling, taking road trips (especially the kind that make everyone around her question her sanity), playing with her puppies, going to the movies, and binge-watching her favorite shows. Amanda is in love with elephants and castles and Scotland, and she is a true believer in happily-ever-after. She bursts into an instant good mood when people are unexpectedly kind or polite, and thinks there's nothing greater than connecting with a stranger through a smile. She loves meeting new people, and especially loves to hear from readers!

Epic journey

I enjoyed the story and I couldn't put it down. I was hoping to have Katarina more intelligent as far as the mentality of her situation. I felt that the author was glancing over her hostage situation. It was like the sexual attraction overrode everything and while yes that was hot I thought it was a treat disadvantage to Katarina especially since Conlan could take advantage without the sexual intent clouding his judgement. I wanted more of her input and communication of her situation to everyone involved instead of the details being described as overall.

Enjoyable book

I really didn't think I'd like this but once I got past the first couple of pages I couldn't put the book now until I finished. It's a story about a girl whose transferred into an alternative realm where she meets the man who says she's been promised to him to save that realm and both their families. A little shape shifting with just a dab of sexy. A very good book that I'd recommend to anyone who likes a strong woman and handsome chauvinistic man.

Starts out ok, but slowly loses strength of character and plot. Disappointing.
