Hi, I'm Elizabeth Amber, author of The Lords of Satyr series of hot historical paranormal romance novels: Nicholas, Raine, Lyon, Dominic, Dane, Bastian, and Sevin (2012). I'm a museum junkie and love history and archeology. When I was an art history major at university many years ago, I became fascinated with Greco-Roman artifacts. I’ve visited many archeological sites and museums in Italy and Greece. All those ancient urns, frescoes, and amphorae decorated with lusty satyrs, maenads, and Bacchus (or Dionysus) celebrating the annual grape harvest inspired The Lords of Satyr novels.

This was two stories in one, or more accurately one story ending 2/3 of the way into the book and the lesser story becoming the primary story for the last part of the book. It is not my favorite of the series, but for fans of the series still worth reading. It was also different in that it really was not erotic as the other stories. More hot sex would have warranted another star. Maybe it was because of two stories in one book that the reader was not as connected to the characters as in earlier stories. Still liked the characters and wanted to know more of how they were going to heal the rupture caused by the outing of the Else World beings.

I was curious to see what anybody else thought of this, but for once I believe this book has hit down under first. Well after reading the earlier books in the series, I was looking forward to reading Sevin. It was a good trip down memory lane back into the world of the Satyr family, though it was a quick trip as the book ended before I felt it really began.

Happy to see Luc get his happily ever after. I love the backdrop that these books are written about and the totally different world of Europe in that era.

Sevin holds a grudge against her due to the harm her family caused his but it the attraction and being forced together on a Calling night changes things quickly. He does an about face and wants to claim and mate her but the Sons of Faunus have other plans for them both. Intrigue, sharing her with his brother Lucian, jealous humans. I was very surprised how easily she submitted to Sevin and his brother after the brutality she suffered previously.

Lucien - Lucian is transported to Elseworld and becomes a frozen statue for ten years, where the creatures there believe whoever wakes him will save their world. Lucian finds the one person he wants to touch him but she doesn't want to want him. I felt the story needed more or may I just wanted more.

“Sevin” by Elizabeth Amber is part of her ‘The Lords of Satyr’ series and consists of two tales, “Sevin” and “Lucien”. These two brothers of the Roman Satyr clan are still unmated. Sevin hasn’t found a female that he wants to bond with and his concern for his damaged brother, Lucien, dictates that any female that becomes part of his life will necessarily have to accept Lucien as well--particularly during the Calling. The monthly requirement for satiation is an essential requirement to the Satyr yet Lucien must be forced to participate due to his antipathy to touch after the years of torture he has endured. The ultimate irony results from an unplanned translocation that forces both Sevin and Lucien to be dependent for their very lives on Alexa Patrizzi, the sister of Lucien’s torturer. Alexa has her own secrets and family complications but never imagines that the sensual pull she feels for Sevin will be acted on in such a carnal manner and result in such a life changing event.

Lucien’s erratic powers combine with his strong desires to escape from the cloying concern of his brothers and result in him being translocated to ElseWorld and becoming the basis for a ritual reminiscent of that used for Vestal Virgins. Lucien’s reluctance to be touched transmutes into a very real representation and it is up to the Healer Natalia to find a way to protect her sister and help heal the wounded soul who appeals to her on all levels.

Another imaginative addition to the very erotic series about those sensual Satyr who populate regions of Italy. The tensions between humans and those remarkable beings from ElseWorld continue to rise and the Satyr must find a way to deal with the repercussions even as they continue to hold their very necessary carnal rites. The continued repercussions from Lucien’s imprisonment are explored and creatively managed as the four brothers each try to find happiness. Temporary solutions are found for several of the issues facing the sensual quartet of brothers but there are more struggles to overcome, including a lack of an essential ingredient for their elixir. The series continues to unfold in a very creative and intriguing manner, hopefully there will be additional volumes beyond this second arc.

I was disappointed in this book. After waiting for this installment of a series I adore I was expecting more. It wasn't nearly as well thought out as her previous books or as erotic. Nothing new was offered and it was lacking several elements, not the least of which was the steamy love scenes, which have made the past books so compelling that I read them in a day. This one took me about a week, I read the 1st half then set it aside and felt no urgency to pick it back up and finish except it had to go back to the library.

This book covered two of the brothers Sevin and Luc but both story's felt rushed and ended abruptly.
Sevin's story was ok it was an interesting idea but felt more like a first draft that needed to be fleshed out. His love interest Alexia was one dimensional, easily manipulated and just seemed to fall into place as Sevin's mate because that is how the story needed to end not because that is were the story actually lead.
Luc's story I loved, it was interesting actually taking place in Elseworld introducing some of that sides culture, the sickness and the differences in our worlds but it was just a brief taste that was rushed to completion. It ended suddenly leaving many aspects of their story unexplored and several questions unanswered. One the the things I especially liked the fact that Luc's mate turned out to be a meanam. I would have enjoyed further exploration into their history and legend.

If this was the last of the Lord of Satyr books I'm going to be very disappointed but I'd rather this be the last one that to have another frustratingly disappointment.

I thought that the stories were better in these books than in the others that I read. I had stopped reading after book 3. I was disappointed that Lucien's story got swept under the rug and was basically a total rush job. I thought that after all he had been through, he definitely deserved better. :(

The book did give me a renewed interest in the series though. So, I think I'll go back and read the ones that I have skipped.

I was a little disappointed in the addition of a "Luc" novella. Given his history in this series, I think a whole book could have been dedicated to him. I thought Sevin was o.k. the whole series feels as if it's over now that Elseworld creatures are know to earth. Where does it go from here? I just don't think an Elseworld brothel will do the trick in providing a mutually peaceful resolution between humans and elseworlders. Perhaps I'm a pessimist in this regard.

I can officially say that Ms. Amber is consistent! Sevin is panty melting hot, but she followed her pattern that she started with the first set of satyr men (books 1-4), ending a series quickly and abruptly, but in a good yet frustrating way.

Sevin is the brother that was always left behind. Many years ago, his parents died and he also lost his three brothers. Left alone at a very young age, he wondered and tries to understand his existence. Too young to understand his heritage, his coming of age had dire consequences that marked him for life. Now all his brothers are home, but his brother Lucien is broken and Sevin is determined to be there for him; even if that means he has to remove the one woman that makes his blood burn.

Alexa Patrizzi has nothing. She lost her mother and brother months ago, but after what she learned about them, she is not so sure if that is such a bad thing. She runs to Venice to escape their evil doings and has now returned to her home in Rome. Alone and scared, she is barely holding on. To protect Lucien, Sevin Satyr wants her gone from Rome, but she has nowhere else to go.

Their attraction is almost visual, but after the pain that her family set upon Lucien, Sevin can’t pursue Alexa. He needs to get rid of her and fast. Fate has other plans. These three people are thrown together, forced to endure. One night will change everyone and everything.

Lucien is more confused than ever. His hatred for the Patrizzi family has fueled him and now revenge is out of his grasp, but there are more pressing matters at hand. A new travel embargo has just cut off the Satyr Lords from their supply of life saving grapes. Not to mention the arrival of a fountain has a strange but strong pull on Lucien. One touch and he is gone.

Natalia is oddly attracted to the godlike statue. She doesn’t dare to look or even touch it. The beautiful statue suddenly appeared at the temple over a decade ago and has been worshipped and revered ever since; seen as the savior to save their dying lands. WHO WAKETH HIM, SHALL SAVE OUR LAND. One stumble and touch later and Natalia has given her people hope, but she has also sealed her fate.

Lucien wakes to find a beautifully alluring woman pleasuring him. She is touching him, but for someone who despises to be touched it is a strange yet wondrous experience. He doesn’t trust these feelings though. Now after years of torment he is a prisoner yet again and is forced to comply with his captors, but he senses his last remaining enemy nearby. Lucien will get his revenge if it is the last thing he does.

Forced together, they find comfort. Can her training as a healer save Lucien? Can he get past his fears and allow love into his heart? These two broken people need each other and together they can find happiness. Can Lucien return to his brothers and save them before the next full moon?

These two short stories blend beautifully together. They flowed seamlessly from one to the other. All-in-all I’m satisfied with Sevin. Would I have wanted longer more detailed stories for these two brothers? Yes. Would I have missed out on their stories? No. I have mixed feelings about this novel.

Are you confused yet? Well if you read the about the Tuscan Satyr’s you would be up-to-date, but not to worry, I’ll see what I can do. Ms. Amber has written seven books of the Satyr Lords and her seventh book is smartly titled Sevin. Books 1-4 are about the Tuscan clan set approximately 60 years prior to the Roman clan. The first four books do not need to be read to enjoy books 5-7, but Ms. Amber has written an amazing world so I personally wouldn’t want to miss out on them.

Her consistency that I mentioned earlier is this; she wrote full novels for the first of the brothers, but for some reason she has ended the sub-series by combining the last of the clan into one final book. So book four had two characters short stories and so did Sevin, book seven.

Book four titled Dominic, also contained Vince’s story. These characters really could have held their own novels, but their short stories were still very enjoyable reads. This can be said for Sevin too. Sevin and Lucien are two brothers I really wanted full novels written about. I did not expect their books to be combined and because of that, I am disappointed. Being titled Sevin, I truly expected it to be solely his own. Both of these men didn’t deserve to be swept under the rug and be quickly wrapped up.

Even though Ms. Amber did combine their stories, their short stories are still very good. They do feel rushed, but they are filled with love, lust and suspense. These are well written books that really need to be enjoyed. The Satyr Lords are amazing virile men with lots of love to give. I enjoy Ms. Amber’s world building, her characters are amazing and the storytelling is fantastic. These novels are not for the timid at heart though. The Aphrodisia line of Kensington is very erotic and explicit, so be prepared for many steamy sex scenes that will leave you breathless with your heart pounding. I love these novels and I hope Ms. Amber continues to enchant us with many more tantalizing satyr men.

I've been follow the Satyr series for a few years and I am quite addicted to the world that Elizabeth Amber has created.
For those of you that don't know, this series is a paranormal Erotica series featuring 2 Satyr clans.
The first clan is based in the 1820's. The Tuscany Clan features Nicholas, Raine, Lyon, & Dominic.
The second clan is based in the 1880's. The Rome Clan features Dane, Bastian, & Sevin.

A little history about the Satyr clans. They are from the Otherworld and during the full moon every month they are forced to fornicate/mate with someone else or shimmerskins (beings that the Satyr's can create to fornicate with on those special nights). They have two penises on calling night and after the first time of coming, the 2nd one will disappear. They are descended from Bacchus, the God of Wine and Lust, hence the fortification. Elizabeth creates an amazingly realistic historical world with mystical creatures that we don't get to see a lot of. If you haven't read the other books I suggest you read them before starting Sevin.

Sevin is basically two stories. We get Sevin and his story with Alexa. Then we get Lucien with Natalia. This was a bit different because normally each Satyr normally gets his own book, although I will admit that Lord Sevin got probably 2/3rd's of the book and Lucien was a much shorter story near the end. Both were great though.

Lord Sevin Satyr owns the Salone Di Passione, which is basically a place where others who are from ElseWorld can come here on full moon nights to fornicate freely and in safety. Alexa Patrizzi is friends with Eva (who is Danes wife).

On the night of the full moon Eva is dropped off at the club to meet her husband Dane and Alexa is in her carriage. The problem is Alexa's family tortured and kept Lucien for many years as a sex slave so Lucien absolutely hates her, though Lord Sevin is completely attracted to her. He believes along with Lucien that the Patrizzi family is their enemy and although all her family is dead except Alexa, they still believe her to be their enemy. The problem is did she have anything to do with keeping Lucien locked up?

Lord Sevin basically tells Alexa that if she stays in town, one of these fornication nights they are going to meet and have a passion filled night. They are both attracted to one another but Alexa claims she had nothing to do with what her family did and Sevin doesn't believe her. They are at an impasse.

Sevin has been staying with his brother Lucien since his release to make sure that he fornicates on full moon nights. It might just seem like sex to some but if the Satyrs do not fornicate on a full moon night, they will die. So since Lucien was kept as basically a sex slave and abhors any touch, Sevin stays with him on those nights to make sure he takes care of himself.

One this special night Sevin and Lucien are in the club and Lucien somehow manages to transport himself to these catacombs under Alexa's house. Sevin grabbed him as it was happening and they both disappeared. They took awhile to figure out where they had ended up and Alexa ends up showing up as well. She's not sure of the way out since her family only showed her the entrance to the catacombs when they told her what they did and what they expected of her. She's by herself in the house when someone breaks in so she runs to the only place she knows she can hide, she might not get back out though.

Sevin is determined to have Lucien and himself sleep with her to survive but Lucien is extremely reluctant so Sevin promises with his gift to fetter out secrets of the mind and heart that he will tell him if Alexa had anything to do with what happened to him. Lucien agrees and Sevin proceeds to seduce her and they both end up spending a very passionate night with her. Alexa is sad and she offers her body to Lucien as payment for her family's crimes against him...... Needless to say there is some background plot going on from someone in Alexa's past. There is a lot to get through between Lucien and Alexa's past.

We jump to Lucien who basically goes back through time and space to heal. He doesn't know it at the time but he turns into a statue in ElseWorld and he's gone for a really long time. Natalia who teaches at one of the schools somehow manages to crack his statue while trying to save her sisters butt for being out of bed at the Academy. There's some definite evil going on in Lucien's story. Not just with Lucien but with Natalia and the Academy they are at. The statue is at this academy with a sign that basically whoever wakes the statue shall save them all. Its a very intriguing plot considering Lucien's story is so much shorter than Sevins. Very meaningful and I loved reading about both Sevin and Lucien.

If you like paranormal historical erotica you will really enjoy Elizabeth Amber's Satyr series. She creates believable worlds with spectacular characters who are just like us, they want to laugh, love, and be loved in return. The brothers in each series have an amazing bond with one another and you get the sense of family with each of her stories. She's one of my favorite authors and I really enjoy the historical twists that come with the paranormal, and of course the sex is scorching hot. Give her a try!

I love this series. The book was just getting started and just ended to quickly for my taste.

You really don't too far into the trouble the brothers are having with the government concerning their discovery of creatures other than humans living among them, only briefly. The book did explain their problems with the government and Sevin's plans to help getting the city officials to cooperate with them (although through the use of their Salone di Passione to be created in Alexa Patrizzi's home).

Then there the whole situation with Alex's ex-husband and ex-father-in-law. Yes, you find out that he was using her to get to the catacombs and back into the family business with Bona Dea cosmetics since he was apparently part of the Sons of Faunus. I was hoping that Ellizabeth Amber would have gone more into details on that background story on the Patrizzi Family and the Tivoli Family.

Then there is Clara's little sister Carmella or Ella. Sevin barely has time to register that he did NOT in fact cause Ella's suicide but that it was her sister's manipulation that caused her death. He barley has time to register all the facts while Singor Tivoli was point a gun at him using Alexa as a human shield.

Then there is Luc ... why did the author only make his story only like 150 pages. I feel that Luc deserved his own book cataloging all he did to the men that participated down in the catacombs. Exploring his hardships and then finding his peace with Natalia. The there is issue with Sophie and her issues. She doesn't even seem to care that it was her fault she has cause her older sister so many problems. I can't believe that she is still trying to get with Gentleman Titus Cato after he tried to molest her sister in front of her! I mean seriously! You would think that would be a total turn off. And even though Natalia is right about moving forward and not looking back concerning revenge. I wanted justice for the Advisor Arturo who wronged Luc and countless others and then there is the Priest Baldassare too. Those three men needed to get their karma. Damn them.

I did not feel that the author gave either Sevin or Luc their due. But I still love this series and hope she continues on and somehow relates the Tuscany Brothers to the Rome Brothers.

Lord Sevin Satyr owns the Salone di Passione where those of ElseWorld can go to slake their passions with others of ElseWorld origin. The Salone has been enormously successful, but now humans know that beings from ElseWorld walk among them and they react in a not very nice manner. Will Sevin be able to keep his business flourishing and his employees and patrons safe and sated in these dangerous times?

Alex Patrizzi’s family did terrible, horrible, unimaginable things to Lucien Satyr and others of ElseWorld, but Alex wasn’t aware of any of it. She is hated by the Satyrs until Calling Night when Sevin uses his gift to see into her and learns she is innocent. The two are fated to be together, but can the past be overcome?

Lucien is a broken man. Tortured and used as a sex slave from a young age, now that he is free his brothers fear he will allow himself to die one Calling Night, so Sevin makes sure he is always with him. They don’t want to lose him now that they have him back. But Lucien is full of anger and pain. After he kills all of those responsible for his imprisonment and torture he doesn’t care if he lives. Until he meets Natasha in ElseWorld.

Natalia is a healer and she’s just what Lucien needs. But will Lucien, who can’t bear to be touched, allow her to heal not only his heart, but his soul?

I have loved all of the Lords of Satyr books and I’m sad this one is the last. While the story and writing were just as good as the previous ones, this book seemed a bit rushed. It didn’t take away from either Sevin’s or Luc’s stories though and I enjoyed it very much. I look forward to seeing what Elizabeth Amber dreams up next.

I was shocked to see that I hadn't written a review of any of the books in this series since I've read them all. Then I started to write one and then remembered that I always thought my previous ones were too negative for a boook that I didn't hate and deleted them without saving.

Here's what they would all say (in a nutshell)
I should probably give this book two stars (it was OK), but two stars looks mean and like I hated the book (which I didn't).
I find that even when a large period of time has pasted between reading the books in this series, I still feel like I am re-reading the same story with the characters having different names. For example, the hero is typically a scarred, womanizing, alpha male. The heroine is a too-stupid-to-live damsel with a secret who finds herself in a life or death or rape/near-rape situation. The villain is always one dimensional and possesses one or more of the following qualities: sexually deviant, religious, psychopathic.

As for this particular book, I was pleasantly surprised that the villain were featured far less prominently (yeah!), but I thought Lucien was far too short and the ending rushed and incomplete for the final book in a series. Perhaps, there is more to come. Not sure how I feel about that.

Not a favorite of the series but not the worst of the novellas Elizabeth Amber has written. My problem with this set of stories is the lack of content. They are not as driven by sex and historical plot line as the prior works. It is the sex and history that make this series worth reading. Now it is just fae oriented romance novel rather than erotica. It isn't a horrid romance but I wanted a lot hot Satyr lovin' action through out the book and I was disappointed.

Profoundly annoyed by Luc's story. The female character is suppose to be super protective of her family and a hard ass but then she gives into Luc so quickly. She says she wants to stay with her family at the end but Luc says 'we can visit' so they leave right away but this "visiting" concept contradicts most of the subplots.

This book is a DNF for me. I'm not familiar with the series but it can be read as a standalone. I wasn't lost and the author did provide enough background information that allowed me to follow the overall plot. I am DNFing this book because I just find the book ridiculous. I don't know if I should take it seriously or not. There are two stories featuring the brothers Sevin and Luc. I managed to read half of Sevin's story and then I started skimming. Once I started skimming, I eventually put the book down and I have zero desire to pick it back up.I couldn't connect with the characters or plot. I was not interested and it didn't hold my attention. I like the cover though. That's what grabbed my attention. Sometimes reading a book because the cover is hot is not a good idea.

Sevin is Scrumptious! I love this series, and each has been a delight. I loved Sev in himself, strong with a strong love for his family. Sevin has a lot on his shoulders with his business and worried for his youngest brother Lucien, so he did not need the added attraction of a woman he can never have.

Lucien, cannot control his powers and his memories are haunting him. He needs to get away from it all, so he takes the only way out he can. Little does Lucien, that his way out may not only heal him, but find him a love, he never thought to have.

Continuing the Erotica series: Sevin is two books in one... In this Satyr tale the first book focuses on Sevin, a dreamy hunk Satyr and is a much better read that others in this specific Rome grouping. The second book is dedicated to brother Luc, young, sexy, with a tortured soul who finds love unexpectedly. The ending for Luc seemed rush, but overall still a good story line. Characters for both books are enjoyable. Overall this novel worked out to be better than a few prior ones. Would have enjoyed a seperate book for Luc and Sevin with better endings, but still a good read.

Both Sevin and Luc were married off in this book. The two stories in one book both zipped along quickly covering much needed ground. Loose ends were tied up and both men found the exact right woman for their life style and for their needs. I did enjoy the book. There was the desired Satyr passion, suspense, mystery and character development expected in a good book. It was a hard one to put down.

Sevin book started off slow. Half way through the book. I could not but it down. You wanted to know how everything was going to play out. I enjoyed the book. I loved the series. For Lucien book. It was a short story. In the last couple of books you wanted to know what will happen to him because of what he went through. You want to know if he gets the ending we all want him to have. The book does not let you down. Like I said I enjoyed the book and the series.

These erotic stories were enjoyable enough. The first one about Satyr brother Sevin had enough of a plot for all the sex but his perceived enemy Alexa too easily fell into the bad guys trap. The second troubled brother Lucian's story was better but it went a little overboard on chauvinistic society where healer Natalia was raised.

This entire series has been captivating and each story is completely different and at the same time, all is interrelated. I wasn't expecting two separate stories in the same book focusing on two different characters. I think if each character had its own book there could have been a lot more in depth character development.

It's hard to follow up Bastian; I immediately started this after finishing. I enjoyed Sevin, but I was thrown that the ending seemed abrupt. I loved that we received a novella of Lucian at the end. I was thoroughly engrossed with the Lucian story. It was inventive and original. I can't wait to see where Ms. Amber takes us with this journey.
