Detective Kelley Petrova’s life hasn’t been easy. The one constant in her adult life has been her career and the ability to make a difference in the lives of abused women and children. Having a capable and dedicated partner like Reese McBride, who also doesn’t happen to be one bit hard on the eyes, only makes her job easier and more worthwhile.
That is, until a string of cases go awry leading to injuries for both Kelley and Reese. When a domestic dispute goes bad and Kelley is shot while a woman is murdered, Kelley’s own personal history forces her to push ahead to find the woman’s killer and the kidnapper of the woman’s daughter. Difficult tasks even when not on a forced leave due to her injuries.
Detective Reese McBride knows his partner of two years is tough, smart, determined and for the first time ever is really noticing just how beautiful she is. Perhaps it’s the vulnerability of her injuries, but he’s having trouble denying his attraction. And forget about keeping her on medical leave, she always seems to be one step ahead of him on the case.
As much as he wants to, Reese can’t keep his partner down and soon they’re chasing after more than just a man and the girl he’s kidnapped. Drugs and a human trafficking ring are exposed and soon Kelley and Reese are running out of time.
The love that has developed between Kelley and Reese grows stronger with each day before they are brutally torn apart. Reese must not only find and rescue the little girl, he’s got to save Kelley before it’s too late.

A fab story. At the moment I'm reading quite a lot of cowboy books, and I love them, especially this author. She's fab! Anyway, love the characters and storyline. Good storytelling.

Made for You
Riding Tall, Book 8
By: Cheyenne McCray
Narrated by: David Quimby

Made for You is a wonderful addition to the Riding Tall series. Action packed and steamy, Cheyenne McCray once again delivers exactly what I love about her stories. When a case hits home, Kelly Petrova will do anything she can to solve it. Injury, time off from work, you name it and she is going to keep doing her job as a detective. Her partner, Reese McBride never realized how deep his feelings had developed until Kelly was shot. As these two begin to explore their new found feelings, they are embedded into a dangerous case and they are right in the middle of it. Will they solve the case? Will their feelings get in the way? Will time run out? McCray has a knack of writing exciting stories and this one, start out slow and builds up til you can't wait to see what is going to happen. It's like a slow burn! I was invested in the case as well as the passionate relationship between Kelly and Reese. And getting a few cameos from characters past is just icing on the cake for me.

David Quimby continues his narration of this series, and he brings it all to life. He is perfectly cast for these characters and eases us into the suspense filled ride. It's another wonderful performance.

I listened to the audiobook of this and was drawn into the story. However, I think I missed a book, because I don't remember Reese losing two of his fingers. I like how the book did not center around his disability. He was a fully capable officer and man, including shooting a gun, making dinner and caressing a woman.

I thought the main plot of the story was going to be drugs, but it ended up being so much more. Kidnapping women to sell them. And female children too. It was such a real story, but disgusting to see what the criminals can get away with.

Since the story ends with a quickie marriage and adoption, I'm curious how this ready made family deals with everything that transpired during the book. Do they go to counseling? Do they have a strong support system that they rely on? I feel like this part of the story just abruptly ended and I want to know how everyone is doing after the fact.

David Quimby is a nice narrator to listen to. He has a smooth voice and makes you feel like you are on the scene when it is happening.

I’m reviewing the audio edition. This is the first book I’ve read/listened to by this author. I was given a chance to receive a free audio book so I decided to check out a new to me author. I was expecting this to be a cowboy story somewhat from the cover but it isn’t. Also I think it would have helped had I already read the previous in the series. It is a good story. Kelley has a strong personality. It comes across when she doesn’t let injury nor being kidnapped stop her. Her partner Reese also is a strong personality except where Kelley is concerned. Their relationship moves into more than partners. While trying to stop Rocha, a trafficker, from selling Belle, Kelley is kidnapped and beat up. This story is full of action. The end leaves open a whole different direction for the couple. The Narrator, David Quimby, does a great job bringing the story to life. Now I have to go back and read the previous stories.

I'm clearly the odd person out here but I wasn't a fan of this book at all and was skipping pages to get to the end.

To me it was over dramatic and predictable.

Made for you by Cheyenne McCray left me with the feeling of "Oh my goodness what more could I ask for in a book?!?" There is drama, suspense, and some nice steamy scenes. This is my kind of book!

Detective Kelley Petrova is a strong independent woman that has been through a LOT in her life. She has taken her childhood experiences and found a way to help people in similar circumstances. When Kelley ends up on a case way to similar to her past she won't let anything stop her from finding the people responsible. Even a gunshot wound and time off isnt' enough to stop her from helping solve this case. Kelley is one determined woman. I have to say I really admired Kelley. This woman is strong and brave woman that can hold her own in any situation. If I was in trouble I know I wouldn't mind having her with me.

Detective Reese McBride has a history similar to Kelley's however, his story has a better ending. He feels a strong connection to Kelley but when she is hurt the connection grows stronger. They start to develop feelings that neither realized was there. I really enjoyed watching these two explore their new feelings for each other. They certainly have plenty of chemistry, oh my! Reese is a determined man when something goes wrong. He will not let anything happen to Kelley. He does everything in his power to make sure she is safe. I wouldn't mind having Reese in my corner when the going gets tough either.

I don't want to tell you too much about the drama in this book. I sure would not want to spoil the story for you. I will tell you that it kept me on the edge of my seat and I hated to set the book down when I had to. Trust I only sat it down when I absolutely had no choice. I could not wait to see what could possible happen next.

I have now had the pleasure of reading a couple of books by Cheyenne McCray and I have thoroughly enjoyed both books and I can not wait to read more of her work. The good news for me is that I have a couple more of her books in my to be read pile. I can't wait to get to them!

If you enjoy a very dramatic suspense story with plenty of steamy scenes then I think you should check this one out. I think you will enjoy it. I know I certainly did. This is part of the Riding Tall series, however I have not had a chance to read the previous books. I don't think you would have any problem reading this book as a stand alone, I know I certainly did not. However after reading this book I know I would love to read the previous books. I am sure they are as awesome as this book.

I was given the opportunity to read this book so that I may share my thoughts with you. As always is has been my pleasure to share my thoughts on Made for You.

Despite Detectives Reese McBride & Kelley Petrova being partners for the past two years, it's taken a recent series of life-threatening work-related injuries to put into perspective just what one means to the other.

Coming from similar backgrounds, the both have the drive and determination to catch the bad guys in spades. But crimes against women and children are the sore spot for both.

When a domestic call goes south, leaving Kelley shot, a woman dead & the daughter (Belle) abducted, Kelley and Reese vow to stop at nothing to bring the man to justice. In the process, Kelley finds herself the target of a human trafficking and sex slave trade along with Belle.

Stopping the bad guy and keeping Kelley and Belle from crossing into Mexico will take every resource they have, and more.

-- The only thing that detracts from story is that Ms McCray's proof-reader is not doing their job. Sure, there were no spelling errors, BUT there were a couple of places where and extra word was injected as if the phrasing was changed, but it was not edited completely -or- a word was missing where she must have been thinking faster than she could type. *These errors were noted in ebook format purchased from B&N.com, I don't know if this story was published onto paper or if the errors were found in all formats.

This was a fantastic book. This series is really good but with this book Cheyenne McCray had me on the edge of my seat and I didn't want to put it down. There was a great mix of romance and suspense in the book and it's left me wanting more. I can't wait to read the next book. Kelley and Reese had great chemistry and the sex was hotter then hot. I liked the secondary characters John, Reese's brother and Belle was so sweet my heart broke for her.
I think you could read this book as a stand alone but I'd recommend you read this as a series in order to truly enjoy them.

Detective Kelley hasn't had the best upbringing, her father's in prison for murdering her mother, after he beat Kelly and her mother for years... But it's made her what she is today.. Detective Reese is her partner and had the same up bringing that his partner Kelley has, but they just don't know it yet... Both have put all their and get into work... One of the domestic abuse cases goes from bad to worse and Kelley is shot, Reese starts to have feelings for his partner that he never had before... Two souls that are broken want to fix each other, but both are as stubborn as each other!!

I liked this story it had a LOT of action and suspense. This wasn't my favorite of the series but I enjoyed reading it. I had a feeling these two would get together since in one of the previous books someone mentioned that they saw how much Reese cared about Kelley.
I can't wait to see what happens with Reese's step brother's.

Cheyenne McCray is another a good read, but I didn't realize until after I was done that this book was number eight in the series. I kinda suspected with the comments of couples recently getting married, but, fortunately those stories were barely mentioned and not really important to the plot of this one.

This one started out a little slower than the rest but in the end was definitely not a disappointment. It's hard to believe this series is almost at the end. Another great mix of mystery, adventure and romance. I can't wait to read this author's other series.

Wow! the chemistry between Kelley and Reese is sexy and hot. I really liked this story because I had gotten to know the characters from the previous books. Just like the other books this story is intense and action packed. I was holding my breath during some parts.
