This continues to be better than the kdrama but not that great on its own — I'm not a huge fan of any of the characters, though I do like that we're starting to see Mari's internal struggles and there are a few laugh-out-loud moments. The art continues to be beautiful!
Update 02-27-15: THEY ARE MAKING A KOREAN DRAMA OUT OF THIS!!! YES. YAAAAAS. It comes out on May 2015. I'm addicted to Korean dramas so I am fangirling so hard right now!!! >~< ------
This might just be one of the best manhwa out there.
READ IT. Even if you don't like vampires. This is not just about a vampireXhuman love story. This is about the how humans treat someone who is different from them. It's about how they feel when we treat them that way.
Orange Marmalade is sweet, kinda funny, touching, and sad. This is honestly my favorite manhwa ever. And I've read a lot of great ones.
So I started reading this after watching the Korean drama of the same name. I wasn't expecting much from this but it turned out to be a whole new wonderful experience. It was my first time reading a webtoon and I really enjoyed it.
I like these chapters waaaay more than volume 1! We get to see more sides to all of the characters, we get more development in regards to the vampires, but most importantly, we get some precious scenes between our two leads that made me swoon!! It was just too cute!!! This webtoon honestly feels like a shoujo romcom, but with the additive of vampires here and there, but somehow I'm not bothered by that so much (under most circumstances this fact would irritate me). I think it's because the story is still really engaging, and the characters are really well done. Plus the romance isn't instantaneous, so it feels more realistic and will be much more satisfying when they actually start dating.
I sometimes Ma Ri because of how she self-pity or exclude herself from others. But she has a valid reason after all because of the secret she wants to keep. I can't wait what will happen if her true persona will be exposed.
Marie Baek is a vampire high school girl in world where human and vampire live together, she always been ostracized for being vampire even when they don't drink human blood anymore, she's tired of moving around everytime something bad happened. She wish human and vampire will live in actual peace and not afraid of vampire anymore. Through this series we'll see her trying to navigate her life as closeted vampire in high school, trying to have good time and actual friendship. Ps. Jaemin in early chapter is somewhat annoying, thinking it's unbelievable that someone doesn't like him and having stalker-ish behavior.
Okay, as usually, there are some bumps in the road to their relationship. One being that Mari is a vampire and doesn't think that Jaemin will accept her if he knows. This is part of the reason their relationship is so awkward. She hasn't the slightest clue what to do! I really relate to Mari in this way. It is hard to imagine all the things she has to go through.
I got soooo frustrated with Baek Ma Ri. She could have EASILY spoken to her friends about whatever issue she had and everything would have been solved much sooner.
