Unlike my last couple of reads, this one kept me riveted! 🙌 It's earned a grateful 4.5 stars for the much needed interest boost. My previous reads were threatening to put me in a book slump 😠
The story picks right up where the previous left off, the gang winging their way to Aerie Peak. 🗻
I feel so bad for poor Kalec. This whole adventure screams "I got out of bed for this?" And if he wasn't a dragon he'd definitely either be dead or at least in a coma with all the knocks to the head he gets in this volume 🏥 On top of all of that I think Jorad Mace is beginning to fancy Kalec's intended, Tyri. Rude.
We run into some old enemies from before, come across some dwarves in the snowy mountains, as well as some nasty Scourge, a dead Baron Valimar Mordis 💀 and his sidekick Trag Highmountain 🐮 (who totally attempts Yoda-like dialogue initially. Not cool bro. Only Yoda can do the Yoda speech 😉), and find that there's more to Anveena than originally thought.
Of course there's enough dragony 🐉 to satisfy from Tyri, Raac, and the creepy Frostwyrms. I think the Dragon Aspects tie with the Lich King as my favorite topics of WoW lore 😁 Just so awesome.
Next up our gang of dragons + 1 paladin head to the Ghostlands to see what that turd Dar'khan is up to.

Kalecgos and his friends are still looking for a way to remove magical collars. On the frozen mountains in the north of Lordaeron they come across the scrouge and a very evil baron who will stop at nothing to get what he wants.
Another graphically beautiful entry in the World of warcraft series. The story is ok, but the art is gorgeous, more anime-ish than the regular WoW art. The dragons are amazing and the portail of the frost Wrym is very nice too.

Why are these so awfully quick to read? I'm speeding through them lol.
I didn't really enjoy this one though. While it spends a majority of its time expanding upon Tyri and Jorad, it never really got deeper into Kalec and Anveena nor this mysterious wizard they're hunting for, Borel. While I don't mind Tyri and Jorad, there are still many more questions to be asked around them. The Scourge action is also something that doesn't really translate that well into a visual medium.
I think overall, the issues I find with this one is that the format its in. It does not translate well from written works to comic style manga, as it lacks a lot of explanations and exposition to carry forth what it wants to convey.

After finishing the first one, I needed to read the second above all else. I was mystified by the lore of Warcraft and the mythology if nothing else that the book contained. It baffled me how so many claim to hate it, particularly of those, the players. I was delighted to lean background knowledge for characters and places I was ignorant of before. Regardless this book didn't disappoint.
The story carries on straight away from the firsts ending and although it holds good potential it does get a little bit drab in certain places. Chapter Five onwards however could not have been written better and the climax is fantastic, perhaps even better then that of the first book, particularly when time is taken just to admire the very detailed full page fight scenes. It is clear a lot of hard work was poured into this book.
The characters stayed the same however as there was no further development on any (bar two new characters) but I can't really say my fondness or displeasure for them changed. Tyri in particular during the first book gained my dislike as she was nothing but a ... preppy bitch... who was clear she wanted nothing but to do the deed with Kalec. There is a chance that each character, particularly Anveenas story, will be revealed in the third instalment.
I still recommend it to those who both play and don't as its just a fantastical little fun read. It's easy but still carries enough depth that its enjoyable. It's worth it.

I wish I could mark this one a 3.5. I loved the subplot with Baron and Targ. Targ was so cool and brave and true in his friendship. I am becoming more intrigued by what Anveena is and what is her tie to this power everyone senses in her. Raac is so adorable. I like the relationship ties that are being played with. Tyri is betrothed to Kalec, but it is obvious that Kalec finds her to be lacking in compassion and harsh to deal with. He obviously has some care and feeling for Anveena, those two make a cute couple and I find Anveena to be very brave. Tyri on the other hand seems to be getting along better with Jorad. Maybe it's because he addresses her as "my lady," and as an extremely self important being, Tyri likes the fact that he automatically sees her as his superior.

You know what I find most surprising? I didn’t absolutely loathe this comic. I certainly expected to. Starting on volume 2 is hella sus, but I didn’t see the first volume and I’m not going out of my way to look for it. The comic stands on its own two feet if you read the ‘the story thus far’ and it was entertaining…to an extent. Not sure how this would look to people unfamiliar with Warcraft. Haha, even people familiar with it might not see the similarities. XD

It is interesting following this story. I suspect that there is more material for the story that can fit into 3 volumes but it is kind of interesting. Unfortunately I don't think there has been enough time developing the villains so they're not really all that villainy.

Al ser un mundo tan amplio, la información se presenta de manera rápida y algo inacabada. Sin embargo, aunque los detalles y las expansiones informativas no abunden, la historia es entretenida y uno no puede detenerse un segundo ni siquiera a pensar en qué le falta a la historia.

Da uma boa melhorada do primeiro fascículo. Os personagens ficam menos, na medida do possível por ser uma historia baseada num jogo, mais complexos. Há reviravoltas um pouco esperadas mas gostosas e acompanhar.

Me ha parecido una continuación muy interesante de las aventuras. De cara al desenlace de la obra, creo que ya me hago una idea de cómo irán los tiros y cuales son los objetivos del villano principal. Creo que ha sido un segundo volumen muy completo, en general me ha gustado.

This one was better than the first, still lots of moving parts and obviously a lot left unsaid, but over all it was better.
I liked the Baron story as it gives a wider view of the world. Idea of how the individual forsaken broke free and wandered. It was really interesting.

طراحی کارکترها به مانگاهای شرقی شباهت بیشتری داره. داستان هم مشخصا اضافه شده به خط داستانی اصلی. شخصیت دارخان یا دارکان هرگز قبلا بهش اشاره نشده بود. با این حال دیدن شخصیت های آشنا تو این کار لذت بخش بود.

Ani druhý díl bohužel není o moc lepší. Přijde mi spíš jako hloupá mezizastávka v celém příběhu. Chyb v překladu je mnohem víc a celý komiks působí opravdu odfláknutě.

A solid continuation of the adventure from the first volume, but I was disappointed that the dwarf hunter and his party disappear for no apparent reason.

The artwork is so over-detailed it makes it hard to follow the action on the page. The story is interesting, but felt like it had a lot of filler content in it.

This second installment in the Sunwell Trilogy of manga-style comics is neither overly impressive or disappointing. If you've read the first, you pretty much know what to expect from this one too. Basically, the art is beautiful and really carries the story, bringing to life heroes and villains. The text is bare-bones and only enough to move the story is included. The story develops nicley here and I'm looking forward to reading the final book (which has finally come out after a LONG wait).
If you enjoy fantasy comics, try these set in the rich world of Warcraft. Make sure you start with the first in the series though.
