I really, really enjoyed this one!
This story does starts in the present, very similar to many rockstar books I have read to date. Where our heroine is a struggling journalist who gets offered a position contigent on her connection to get an interview. The interview is with of course the unattainable rock god whom she has a past with. That's about where the similarities to other rock books end.
We go back to the past (4 years ago) for pretty much the entire book. Back to when Kaitlyn Reynolds was a college student dating Kevin her one and only boyfriend and meets Derek Kane, the struggling musican.
"Why pass up a chance at something amazing for something you don't really want?"
Kaitlyn builds a relationship with Derek and struggles to remain loyal to her jealous, insecure boyfriend all the while being egged on by her slutty roommate, Shana.
"He's got a face like a movie star, a bod like an underwear model, an incredible ass, and a big dick to boot. And he is totally in love with you. You have to fuck him, Kaitlyn, it's like a law of physics."
I found the author to be really gifted in writting angst as well as some down right HOT sexy scenes.
The story does indeed end with a cliffhanger but the next book is due out January 2014.

I absolutely loved this book! I didn't know it would have a sequel when I started it, or I probably would have waited until all of the books in the series were out. Now, I'm waiting for the next book to be released so I can find out what happens. I'm hooked and I need a fix!
If you want an angsty love triangle read, this is the book for you. I usually don't even bother reading the sample chapters at the back of a book, but i glanced at a paragraph or two at the end of All That He Loves, and I had to read this book. It was a great story and I'm glad I did. It does have a cliffhanger ending though, so I wish I would have waited for the whole series to be out before I read it.

WARNING: RANTY REVIEW WITH SPOILERS AND BAD LANGUAGE
This book has the same premise as The Mighty Storm by Samantha Towle. Girl meets boy, girl leaves boy, boy becomes famous, and girl gets her big break by interviewing boy. Only this time we are ‘treated’ to reading this story from the beginning when boy and girl first meet.
But why did this book annoy me so? Oh,let me count the ways.
1.This is a full length novel but many of the chapters are only a few paragraphs long. Why?!
2.Kaitlyn Reynolds; the h.
Kaitlyn, you must understand (no really, the author insists) is the world’s most beautiful women. Every guy she meets is immediately enamoured. Allow me to illustrate by quoting a few passages:
“But all of a sudden in 11th grade, BAM, I kind of came into my own. Curves everywhere. My skin cleared up and I finally got a fashion sense. Boys started noticing me seemingly overnight. I got a lot of attention where I hadn’t before- like ‘captain of the football team’ attention.”
Well shit, girl. Captain of the football team attention?! That’s like grade-a-better-than-regular-attention!
”’Aren’t you coming?” Ryan asked forlornly as Derek and I lagged behind. If I didn’t know any better,I would have said he was crushing on me.”
Girl, of COURSE he’s crushing you within only a few hours of meeting you. Every-damn-body is crushing on you. Have you met you?!
Of course its not clear to us readers so we are treated to this little titbit a lines on:
”’Jesus, Kaitlyn, does every guy we meet have to have a crush on you?’ Shanna pouted”
Obviously Shanna, haven’t you been paying ANY attention?!
3.Our h is also extremely horny. Uncomfortably so, apparently. All. The. Time. She can’t stop talking about this guy’s body or his ass or the way he walks or his tattoos or his smell or his hair or his smile or his…well you get the picture.
4.There is also a great deal of slut-shaming. Especially toward her best friend (could have fooled me). I guess this is just a messed up tactic used by authors to present the h in a more favourable light and to excuse bad behaviour ; because next to the slutty best friend the h comes off as an angel right?
So when the best friend brings home a hot guy and he immediately falls in love with Kaitlyn (of course) and no longer has any interest in the best friend it’s OK to forget girl code and totally just flirt your ass off with this guy. Because ya know, she’s a slut and he’s hot.
”I should have felt awful. I knew I should have felt awful…but damn he was gorgeous. …Plus, she’d kind of been using Kevin against me like that. And how many times had she brought back drunk guys to have sex in our dorm room? How many times had she totally disrupted my life? So one of twenty slipped through her fingers. Boo hoo.”
And that’s how its justified. Who is Kevin? Oh just the boyfriend the best friend reminded her of in front of the totally gorgeous guy. What a bitch right?
And when Ryan also has a crush on Kaitlyn who was originally set up with Shanna the BFF, we are again reminded of her profound slutdom in the way Ryan’s mom is cold towards Shanna, she’s showing cleavage you see. Obviously she isn’t worth any respect or basic manners. This is an actual quote:
”You are too sexy. Try dressing really conservatively next time you hang out”
Yes Shanna, because that’s the ONLY way you’ll deserve any respect or affection.
5.The H is also wanted by everything with a vagina- and a few who have penises too. Seriously, this cannot be said enough. We spent a whole chapter on interrogating girls to find out how every girl wants him and how he’s the best sex they ever had. They’re all still in love with him. Please don’t forget this point. It’s ok if you don’t though as we are reminded of this several times through paragraphs on girls (and guys) staring at him and drooling. Not getting the point yet? He was asked to move out of his friend’s house because his 12yr sister started acting weird around him. She was totally in love with him you see. In case it’s not clear enough that everyone wants him there is also a 9yr old girl who has a crush on him.
6. The blurb of this book is in now way representative of what actually happens in this shit. Basically its just a very very VERY long winded prologue to the next book in this series. It's riddled with grammatical errors and plot inconsistencies.
Basically I hated everyone and everything in this book.

I was pleasantly surprised how much I loved this book. At first glances I didn't think much of this book but boy was I proved wrong, I finished this whole book in 1 day.

in some ways i really respected the hell out of this book. for taking me on the journey in other ways i wish she wouldn't have told me how the journey ends before it starts. also the ending was some what cliffy at the same time it felt like the end of book one. i cant explain it. also ive never had a you bastard moment more then that ending..lol even tho he didnt do anything we dont know whats going to happen yet really. wish the next book would come out next month tho.. and congrats on writing a full length book no more fucking novella books pls let the tread fucking die
really a 3.8 wouldnt reread but would listen to the audiobook. here's the thing. it's the order of events that piss me off for a good 80% of the book. i look forward to the next

Great book. Only issue I have is that it is a serial book. I love the writing and the storyline, but having it split into parts is something I'm not a huge fan of. I've seen this with a lot of books and for me, I feel like I'm being ripped off. This comes from the fact I like to read whole books and have never really like serials, especially when the books are as good as this.
Now waiting for the next part to be released.
Despite the fact it's a serial novel, it's worth reading. The storyline is intriguing, the chemistry between the two main characters are there and one of the things I like best is that it's not one of those guy's a rockstar, girl hooks up with rockstar ya da ya da ya da. It's very contemporary and it appeals.
There's more than just sex between the characters.

ooo im so angry with the author right now! i knew this would happen boo! ha atleast january isnt too far away but god please dont let this get pushed back! I really really loved this story, its pretty amazing and i cant wait to see where it goes..i do have to say though the whole series thing is beyond enough now. I actually feel like it kind of takes something away from the story and it had me thinking about which page would be the blunt end to the book the whole way through so i couldnt entirely focus on the amazing story but ehhh its gonna happen anway right!

I loved the crap out of this book ever since you introduced it at the end of All That He Loves.....and now that I've gotten to read it......YOU LEFT ME HIGH AND DRY TO MAYBE....JUST MAYBE READ BOOK 2 IN JANUARY 2014.
I want to curl in a ball and c-c-c-cry!!!!!!
Rock Me Hard tells the tale of an aspiring journalist recruited to do an exclusive on a mega rock band that refuses to do press. How did Kaitlyn get this prestigious opportunity??? The bands' front man.....Derek Kane who she met and fell in love with after 2 weeks of knowing him.....4 years prior. Why'd he give her the chance???? Because 4 years ago he met a hot piece of ass who took him up to her room and he fell instantly on his ass in love with her roommate who never stayed with him, even when he begged her.
This book was so sweet it gave me a toothache and as it got sweeter it gave me diabetes. I CRIED like the baby I was when they were saying their goodbyes and Derek was begging her to stay.....that part tore me to shreds.
Olivia....I can't even....I'm overwhelmed with feeling right now. I LOVED THIS BOOK!!!!
And I'm going to go ahead and say it.......................
I LOVED ROCK ME HARD MORE THAN I LOVED THE BILLIONAIRE'S SEDUCTION.
Please don't disappoint me with the 3 upcoming books in the series......if u feel like giving us (your loving fans) more than 4 books......well that would just be swell!!! Lol!
I look forward to following this series like a crazed stalker, the same way I did the Billionaire's Seduction series.

This has to be one of the best books I've ever read. I loved it I need the next book ASAP. I am desperate. This was an emotional rollercoaster I adored. There was so much heartache I absolutely can't stand it but yearn it all at the same time. It was just beautiful and I need more of "The Rock Star's Seduction" series.
The book starts of the series which are in parts. This book is part one introducing us to the story of Kaitlyn and Derek. It is set in the present time and the past (four years earlier) in which they met and started a romance. Sadly, Kaitlyn ended it and she regrets it. Now, she has moved to New York and is offered a job in the "Rolling Stones." To interview Derek and his band. To kick start her career and finally start paying her bills, she agrees and meets Derek after breaking his and her hearts four years earlier.
Annoyingly, this book ends in a cliffhanger! Annoying right? Well, it is a good thing I have to wait only around a month for the next part of the book to come out in which Derek and Kaitlyn's story continues. How will their meeting after four years of heartache go?

DNF at 48%
This was a freebie on Amazon, so.... The blurb sounded alright, although cliché but sometimes there's nothing wrong with cliche as long as it's beautifully written and the characters have depth and are relatable. Unfortunately, this book didn't have either.. Both the h and H got on my nerves. The h because she was a dumbass with no backbone. I hated her internal voice. The endless stupid internal debates about her on-again off-again relationship with Kevin, his she loved him and couldn't be with the H. Ugh.. Spare me. And the H was immature, OTT and not very likeable.
I'm sad this was a bust.. I was just in the mood for some rocker angst.

OMFG!!!! I absolutely loved Derek!!! Oh my... i can't even make a sentence for that last chapter, it will be stock with me for a long time!!
Ok, so Derek amazing, hor, sexy as hell, you just can't get enough of him!! He is sweet and understanding.
Kaytlin so young and naive, so blind and so stupid but you kind of understand her, the suthor gives us so many great reasons to understand her choices and feelings.
I have to say I loved the ending, AMAZING!!! Can't wait to start the next one!!!

Just a warning before I get into it, if you do not like negative reviews, do not read on. I am grudgingly giving it 1 star...and I'm having a hard time justifying that.
1. Since when is it okay to write a 300+ page book that most chapters are only a couple paragraphs? Combine some of those dinky chapters (since they all pertain to the same thing anyway; at one point there was 12 chapters for one scene) into one legitimate chapter.
2. At what point does the blurb for this story actually describe this book? The description should be listed on the series page and the blurb changed for this specific book.
3. None of the characters have any redeeming qualities. kaitlyn: wants her cake and eat it too. Shanna: has absolutely no standards or morals. Derek: manwhore...claiming that he wants only Kaitlyn. Ryan: sounds like a prepubescent kid.
4. There were huge plot gaps. Maybe they would have been filled in better had the author used a timeline.

As an editor and someone who works closely with publishers, I would be absolutely appalled to have this book published as it is.
1. Since when is it okay to write a 300+ page book that most chapters are only a couple paragraphs? Combine some of those dinky chapters (since they all pertain to the same thing anyway; at one point there was 12 chapters for one scene) into one legitimate chapter.
2. At what point does the blurb for this story actually describe this book? The description should be listed on the series page and the blurb changed for this specific book.
3. None of the characters have any redeeming qualities. kaitlyn: wants her cake and eat it too. Shanna: has absolutely no standards or morals. Derek: manwhore...claiming that he wants only Kaitlyn. Ryan: sounds like a prepubescent kid.
4. There were huge plot gaps. Maybe they would have been filled in better had the author used a timeline.

Lovely read. Strong writing, good dialogue. Great sexy times although not many of them. Absolutely loved Shanna, the roommate. She makes no apologies for being who she is. Kaitlyn bothered me a bit but then I had to keep remembering that she is 19 and doesn't have the life experiences to make good choices. Derek was quite the dreamy guy but I had some concerns about his manwhore reputation. Will definitely read part 2. Hope there aren't too many other parts. Do wish author's would stop breaking books into multiple parts!

I wanted to cry at the end of the book... I actually teared-up!
HOW? WHAT? WHYYYYY? I don't even know if it was a happy or a angry kind of ending...
Come on, why would yo do that to me? And then the next book is not out fast enough...
I think i won't sleep a week because of that ending. All this questions it really isn't fair of you to do that!
But still you have me as a new fan. I absolutely LOOOOVED this book and can't wait to read more of your stuff!!!

This immediately sucked me in and I couldn't put it down!! This was sweet but also hot!! I loved the relationship these two had. It felt so much more real than some other stories. I loved that Kaitlyn was funny and smart but stood by her principles and that in the end, she gives a really good explanation of why she did what she did. I can't wait for the sequel!! I hope it won't take too long! ;)

I found this book underwhelming. In the mood for a rock star tale, what I got was teenage angst well disguised as something much more substantial. Kaitlin had few redeeming qualities, her college room mate even less. And as for the rock stars, well they weren't as this is mostly a pre-fame story. The story moved at a snails pace for 50 percent of the book - although we were told about a thousand times in Kaitlin's POV how hot Derek was - just in case you didn't believe he was going to turn into a rock star. Just as things picked up it was over at 75 percent, on what should have been the start of around chapter 3 - the rest fill in from another book that I skipped. Why do authors do this with e-books? Also, what's up with the 2 page chapters? Short attention span?? I guess I just found the characters too young, too immature and their conflicts too thin. The writing wasn't terrible (it was first person which I don't prefer) but to say I'm surprised at the amount of content written by this author is an understatement. I won't bother with the rest of the series or any of the others. Definitely puff with no filling.

Rock Me Hard is a lot better a book than its stereotypical romance novel title and cover might suggest.
It's sexy but also sweet and every time I found myself getting aggravated by Kaitlyn and the other half of her sort-of love triangle (there is cheating, but its handled in a way that is rather anti-cheating - you'll see what I mean if you read it), Thorne came in with some apt humour and reminded me that in the flashbacks she is only 19 and she's naturally acting based on her limited experience.
I loved the way this book handled love; falling for someone when you're seeing someone else; slut-shaming/alternative lifestyle choices; the impact of parental cheating... and more besides. It needs a little proofreading for errors but is generally well written. The only catch? A cliffhanger ending.

I picked this up in ebook format for a quick romance read.
While I enjoyed this book, I find the cheater trope to be both annoying and a true plot disappointment. I loved the bad boy rocker romance and the way the plot was written. The pacing was quick and the dialogue flowed well.
I will be picking up the next book in the series.
