St. Benedict: Monk, Mystic, Exorcist

Rate this book
Follow one of the most revered saints in history as he embarks on a journey through earthly trials, diabolical attacks, and heavenly triumphs. St. Monk, Mystic, Exorcist is the riveting true story of one man's radical faith and spiritual battles in the ashes of the Roman Empire.

Benedict of Nursia gave up a privileged life of nobility to seek solitude in a remote cave. After three years of wrestling with unseen forces and relying on the good will of strangers for sustenance, he emerged as a spiritual leader.

Known as a man of miracles , visions , exorcisms , and prophecies , Benedict’s one-man monastic movement grew into a community of devotees — as well as a legion of jealous enemies, some of whom plotted to kill the humble hermit.

Saint Monk, Mystic, Exorcist weaves together remarkable threads of monasticism, mystical experiences, prayer, and spiritual combat to paint a vivid portrait of an enigmatic man whose legacy continues to inspire the world today.

This gave the basics of the life of St. Benedict. Unfortunately, it was rambling and repetitive and is need of major editing.

Excellent for an in depth study of St. Benedict, but way too much overlap and repeating of content.

Short and sweet. Very informative. A little repetitive in places.

It started off well. Quoted Gregory the Great a good bit. Then it just became more and more redundant. Until it was simply tiresome. Even so, I gave it 3 stars.
