A KILTED CHRISTMAS WISH is a sexy, contemporary novella of about 20,000 words.
Down on her luck with men, Darla Strider wonders if she’ll ever meet her own kilted hero. Considering she lives in present day New York City, the likelihood of that happening is nil. She’s certain only a Christmas wish could make her dreams come true. Until the day Aaron Sutherland walks into her café, and changes her whole world.
Leaving his pain in Scotland for life in the States, the last thing Aaron has in mind is hooking up with a city girl. But one look at Darla and she’s got him singing All I Want for Christmas is You.

This fell flat for me. I didn't believe Darla and Aaron's romance. Aaron lost his fiance approx 4 months ago. He moved to NY for change of scenery (and he conveniently had a nice job- his dad was retiring and he is taking over). Here is why the romance just didn't work for me:
Oh my word. A Kilted Christmas Wish was painfully sweet and I enjoyed reading every moment of it. I loved Aaron...gonna need to find me a little Santa ornament. LOL
This was a lovely novella lengthed story for anyone who enjoys holiday romances and happily ever afters...with a hunky "Highlander."
If I could give Eliza Knight 10 stars I would. A Kilted Christmas Wish was one of thew most romantic novella I have ever read. If you like Christmas in New York and Highlanders you are going to love this book as much as I did. I highly recommend you read this over the holidays.
Just what everyone wants, a Christmas wish to come true. At least Eliza Knight has made that wish come true for Darla in this romantic tale. Loved this happily ever after with Darla and Aaron. Very well written and a story you won't want to miss for the holidays.
The story is short and sweet, but I felt it needed more character development. I know that's hard to do in a novella. If you're in the mood for an insta-love quick read this story is for you.
Quick instalove novella - a Scottish guy and a NY gal do a bunch of cliched things and fall in love. There’s some angst and sexy times. Great Christmasy romance.
Darla is a NYC café owner who loves romances with kilted Scottish Highlanders. It is no surprise that she is instantly attracted to Aaron, a Scottish production CEO. Fortunately, Aaron is equally attracted. Aaron has some emotional baggage he has to work through before they make it to their HEA. The character development is surprisingly good for a short novella. The book is part of a historical romance series but it is a contemporary romance that can be read as a standalone. I recommend this book for anyone who likes spicy romance with a sweet HEA. As a plus for people like me who don’t like historicals, it’s a romance with a man in a kilt!
Darla is done with romance unless it’s a Scottish man in a kilt. Aaron walks into Darla’s cafe and wow. Both have broken hearts and miscommunication doesn’t help. Love the cliche swoony ending.
Aaron leaves Scotland after his fiancee dies. His father is a major TV mogul who is ready to hand over the company to his son. Darla owns her own sandwich restaurant. She has had a bad dating history and is giving up men except for her Highlander romance boyfriends. She asks the Santa hanging on her restaurant's Christmas tree for her own Highlander. Aaron walks in the door moments later and BAM, love.
I loved this little story which I read in less than two hours. Quick read but very satisfying.
Quick, enjoyable, sexy read. Since this is a novella, it went by quickly, but you can still connect with the charactors. I will read another book by this author.
Darla makes a wish for a kilted Highlander for Christmas, so she's shocked when Aaron Sutherland, the hottest Scot she's ever seen (he even comes with a brogue) shows an interest in her. He's come to New York determined to make a fresh start after the loss of his fiance. It's only been a few months, so as much as he likes spending time with Darla and is entranced by her and the spark she brings into his life, he also battles with the guilt of feeling like he's moving on too fast. He doesn't want to hurt Darla, but knows he's not ready for a relationship. And yet, he can't stay away.
This was a really engaging novella. The characters were fun and had some great chemistry. The humor was just my brand - not slapstick or OTT, with a touch of sarcasm. This was both fluffy and angsty at the same time. Fluffy in that the interactions between Darla and Aaron are lighthearted and fun, but angsty because of Aaron's guilt and knowing that Darla's gonna get her heart broken. It was also quite sexy, since they can't keep their hands off each other. My only mini-complaint might be that some of their interactions and dialogue, while romantic, was a bit corny (kind of saccharine sweet) at times .
