Benjamin Chambers found the girl, won the girl, and then lost the girl all in two months. It wouldn’t be so bad if it wasn’t that girl. The one that had already got away once.
Left to his own devices, wallowing in self-pity, drinking whiskey and killing ballads on his guitar Ben is looking forward to the worst Christmas in history. That is until an unexpected offer of help arrives.
Given the best Christmas gift he could ever wish for, the chance to spend one more day with the girl that got away. Ben knows he just has one day to convince Lilah that they are meant to be together, before he has to make some big decisions about his own future. Just one day to set right the mistakes that he has made, but will it be enough?
Ben may end up finding out that The Art of Forgiving isn't something you can teach, it is something that you have to earn.
Romance without limits! A book hoarder and coffee addict at heart Anna's main existence in life is to create beautiful words about exquisitely flawed characters. She's a slow burn Princess and all about working for that happy ever after, but she guarantees when you get it, you'll fall so hard you might never want to surface again. Be prepared to oooh and aaah and squeal with delight as Anna takes you on a journey you are unlikely to forget. Anna lives at in Surrey, the UK, with her husband and three children. She happiest writing (thinking of ways to make you swoon), drinking coffee and snuggling up on the sofa in the evenings for a binge of her favourite shows or reading in bed. She loves to chat with her readers on social media so if you love the words come and find her, she sure loves to talk.
The Art of Forgiving is a Christmas novella retelling the Christmas scene in The Art of Letting Go from Ben's point to view. It's fun and messy and a very quick read that brought some smiles back to my face.
First Line of The Art of Forgiving:
"The call that saves Christmas arrives at ten".
My Thoughts on The Art of Forgiving:
This novella captures a lot of fun and wit that makes this series stand out for me. I'm not the biggest fan of novellas as I prefer a book I can sink my teeth in to but this novella is a fun teaser that reminds that I'm looking forward to book 2 in this series.
Again I feel it will work better if you read it as part of the series and not as a standalone. If you read it on its own, I don't know if you would fully get behind the characters. Ben and Lilah might just seem like a couple of drunks getting it on! Believe me, not the case! They are a great couple who have a few hiccups but the intensity between them gives me shivers.
Short as this book is, there is a reunion scene that gave me a burst of satisfaction, I am rooting for Ben and Lilah to find a happy ever after. Bring on book 2 ASAP, I need to know what happens in Year 2 :)
Who should read The Art of Forgiving?
I'd recommend you read this novella AFTER you read The Art of Letting Go. If you enjoy NA, then you should check out this hilarious and emotional NA series set in an English University.
Thanks to Anna for giving me a copy of this novella in exchange for an honest, unbiased review.
I love love loved Anna's first of this series, The Art of Letting Go. This snippet into Ben Chambers mind and thoughts was SUCH A GREAT addition to the story! I love him. And the fact that he plays his guitar for Lilah just melts my heart. Will she let him in? I'm not telling. You have to read this short to find out - and you will not regret it one second. Ben gives us some great insight to how he thinks, what he thinks of the girl he's fallen for and what he plans on doing about his predicament. THANKS Anna! I cannot wait to keep reading about these two. They will never grow old.
So you should have all read The Art of Letting Go AND The Saving of Benjamin Chambers by now…yes? No? GET TO IT! The Art of Forgiving is a scene from Christmas in The Art OF Letting Go, in Ben’s POV. (We ALL love Ben…so YAY more Ben’s POV) If you have read TAoLG then you will know exactly what happens before, during and after the Christmas entry…all from Lilah’s POV of course. Lilah is attempting to cook Xmas dinner and we all know how much she cant cook! So it’s the gang to the rescue.
The Art of Forgiving sees Ben cooped up in his room back at his mothers and he’s depressed and moping about. He’s lost Lilah and he really needs and wants her back – god, he loves her for crying out loud! When Tristan the arse calls him up, he jumps at the chance to see and spend time with Lilah, even if she doesnt want him around. We see Ben wanting just one more day, one day to prove to Lilah that they are right together, that they should be together and are meant to be – and this is his only chance to make right.
Ben is still the sweet guy we all know and love – he’s determined to make Lilah see that he is the one for her, that they should be together but he had big decisions to make about his own future and the band. He gets to spend a night with Lilah, hopefully making her forgive him and come back to him….
Will she though? Well, those who have read TAOLG know the answer, but if you dont, go and grab all three books and devour them like i always do!
Anna herself asked me to review this book I just finished it and I was so happy to read it before it was released it is short that is taken place in the art of letting go when Liliah was making christmas dinner it is in Ben's point view he loves liah and when the thing that happened with Liliah with the girl with the underwear he's been mopping until tristen tells Ben to come with him for christmas dinner Lila is cooking so he comes and all he wants to do is for her to forgive him and to have sex with him I loved this short and I love Ben I can't wait until spring for the more of Lilah .

I love reading scenes I already know from another point of view. This short takes a scene (and adds some more context) from The Art of Letting Go and gives it through Ben's POV. Ben is sweet and loving and I heart him.
...Though I would still like to send him and Lilah and all their friends to AA. :-)
Told in Ben's POV retelling the Christmas scene from The Art of Letting Go, it had me wanting more but it was perfect. I love Ben and I wish he could have gotten what he wanted from Lilah.
One of two novellas in the 'Uni files' series by Anna bloom. A brief glance into Bens perspective of his and Lilahs on and off relationship. Yes it's only short, but indeed it is sweet. Every new page reignites your love for this couple, in the same way you first fell for them both in book one. It's a must for all fans of both Anna's writhing and this series, highly recommend it!
