Chasing Love #1

An Arrangement of Love

Rate this book
He kissed me. And not just any kiss. He kissed me like he owned me, as if he bought me last night and my orgasm was the payment. His tongue didn't explore my mouth instead it taunted me, gliding in and out between my lips in a rhythm that reminded me of hot sex. He shifted his hand to the back of my head and trapped me to him. My bag and its contents dropped to the floor. . .

What would you do for six figures?

Billionaire Chase Stone offers Jasmine a six-figure job that requires a full-time commitment in his office as well as his bed. If only she knew that before she agreed, then life would’ve been easier. It’s not that he’s unattractive. Jasmine just didn't graduate from Harvard with honors so she could be some rich guy's over paid mistress. What’s even more repulsing is that he lives with three women and wants her to be the fourth.

Not going to happen!

But Chase won't give up, and Jasmine won't give in. Someone's going to have to change because the more they meet, the more something thick, hot, and electric bridges between them, until neither can breathe or think.

Kenya Wright wrote her first novel during her third year at UM Law school. She dropped out a month after the release and never looked back.

Words are power,
and Kenya wants to be the greatest wizard that ever lived.

It's an audacity to inspire
and teach the healing of love through arousal.

It's this crazy idea that love
can not only help a reader escape,
but the story can also teach the person
about being human,
while making them laugh,
cry,
and hot for more sex.

This is the second book I’ve read from Kenya Wright. The first one, Flirting with Chaos, was “a little” better than this one. My issue is, I really want to find a relatable, non-cliche, non-stereotypical new adult novels with black or asian protagonists. I’ve read a couple decent ones with Latina protagonists.

This book seemed promising at first. Jasmine grew up in a bad neighborhood but went to Harvard on a full scholarship. She’s a people pleaser and it begins with her in a weird interview for an executive assistant position for billionaire Chase Stone. While that plot line is overused in the new adult genre, it gave me hope that maybe Jasmine would be the type of heroine I like. Because even though most the heroines in the new adult genre don’t physically look like me, their personalities are relatable or at least somewhat endearing. But Jasmine wasn’t, at least not for me. I couldn’t empathize with her at all.

I don’t know if I would call Jasmine naive as much as I would just call her dumb. She was annoying. Her references to race were annoying. I’m literally dying for a new adult novel with a person of color where race isn’t an issue. I want any reference to it to be subtle because once you mention race so many times, a large part of the books premise becomes racial and the focus should be on the romance and the real conflict. And Jasmine being black was never a real conflict in this story it was just a fact. So why wasn’t it just treated as a descriptive fact and moved on from?

The writing in this book was okay. The dialogue was unnatural and stiff. I never felt any connection with anyone which is unfortunate. The sex scenes were good. I liked the one in the restaurant in France. I’m sad to say I’ll pass on everything else though.

Jasmine doesn’t know what to think when the interview for her dream job comes with invasive questions that can only logically end in lawsuits. Chase Stone is a billionaire on a mission to claim her as his latest acquisition. Let the games begin.

The Good:
1. This was hot, dirty, and fun.

2. Chase is a stalkerific hero who surprised me throughout this book when his machinations reveal themselves.

3. I found it very realistic that a beautiful, young billionaire would think nothing of setting up polyamorous playground. It also made sense that his pimp hand would be strong enough to expect nothing less than all to magically fall in line.

4. I loved that the heroine asked all the believable questions of anyone introduced to this concept for the first time. Their connection came across authentic enough that the reader could understand her choices too.

5. The supporting cast all added to the story, and didn't feel like sequel bait, or cartoony.

6. Black hair realness was in effect. My favorite part is the heroine's reactions at the requested hair makeover.

7. This is an interracial romance that acknowledges differences but doesn't beat you over the head with it.

8. Jasmine is a huge foodie and it brings sparkle, connection, and mirth to the party.

9. I’m a fan of the movie Boomerang, and this had some of the same pacing and subject matter
description
The heroine is kind of a mashup of both the Halle Berry, and Robin Givens characters. You get the same satisfaction of watching the ultimate player's game meet its ultimate test.

The Bad:
1. Chase is the stalker billionaire hero trope on steroids, which sometimes came off creepy.

2. Jasmine was often too quick to pick up her toys, and go home over the slightest push-back. Even after promising to talk before making rash decisions, it would happen again.

Final Thoughts:

This was a fast paced soapy erotic read. It might be my first time reading this writer, but definitely not my last.

This was a 4.5 star read for me. I was absolutely pleasantly surprised about how much I loved this one. You just never really know when you pick something up for 99 pennies if you're going to find a gem or a lump of coal...

Chase is your typical uber-rich, super hot, confident, alpha male. He gets what he wants when he wants it and up until he meets Jasmine no one has ever stood in his way or questioned him. This book starts off in hilarious form. I was reading it going wait is this really happening. Jasmine shows up for a very strange job interview but she needs a good job to help take care of her family and to make good of her Harvard education that she worked so hard to attain. When Chase starts talking indecent proposals a starting salary of almost 200k a year makes it hard to turn down, however, Jasmine is not willing to be bought.

We meet some really cool side characters in this one. It is different from a great deal of your typical trilogy billionaire types of romances in the arrangement that Chase is currently involved in. Jasmine finds it very difficult to resist Chase, but knows that his current lifestyle is not one that she can submit too easily. Drama, craziness, and heat that burns off the pages ensue and what we end up with is definitely going to be added to my favorites list of this year. I highly recommend this one if you like your stories with some interesting twists, a little gritty, and super hot. Also, while Chase had the BIGGEST ego ever, I found something soft and vulnerable about him as well. And let's be honest while we all love an asshole one with feelings is always far more pleasurable...

Quote Love:

"Vivian coined the term for Vibrator, Ice Cream, and Book test. Basically, if I would rather spend the night at home with my vibrator, a pint of Ben and Jerry's Chunky Monkey ice cream, and a steamy romance novel, then he'd failed the V.I.B. test."

"I love women--your bodies, your scents, the feel of your skin, the sound of your moans, and the luscious taste of all of you, each with your own distinct flavors."

"He paused and tossed me a weird grin. 'I love how you think my orders are suggestions.' 'I worry that you think your delusions of grandeur are reality.'"

There are lots of ladies reading this book. Chase and Jasmine's story is a totally riveting, fascinating story about love. I liked both characters. Chase is learning a very hard lesson in what it means to truly only love one person and only want to be with that one person. My heart really did go out to him on this painful love journey that he had to walk through. There is murder, betrayal, lies aborted love, twists and turns in this story. Their story so had me on edge that I stayed up until 5am this morning to finish reading it. I like the author's style and I have clicked a few more of her books! Great read!

This was just OK. The story of Jasmine (Harvard Graduate from the hood) and Chase (Billionaire executive). Basically the hero sees/encounters the heroine in the past, and wants her. He wants her so bad he steers her choices (really his choices) to his office to interview for a dream job at his company. Chase lives with 3 other women and wants Jasmine to join the party. This was my first book of this nature and I was intrigued by the story-line, so I consumed the book. However, it fell somewhat short of meeting my expectations.

I did not like Chase or Jasmine. For starters, Jasmine was too much of a flight risk. She was wishy-washy and looked to run each and every time. She is not my kind of heroine. I liked confident, dominant Chase in the beginning of the book. I did not like weak Chase that showed up for 75% of the book. All of the begging and trying to keep everyone happy made him appear weak to me. Not my cuppa. Since I'm not a fan of the hero and heroine, I doubt I will continue on reading the series.

Why Not 5 Stars?

Dislike Hero and Heroine - as mentioned above, I started out really liking them, but they started to get on my nerves. Jasmine a runner and Chase weak guy (lets the women control him). They were not for me. I could care less what happens to them.

WOW!!!!!!!

I was not expecting this at all, from page 1 I was completely hooked. I just could not believe what was happening.

I am a little speechless and its taking me a second to pull it together because wow just wow.

(Exhale) okay here we go...

This book was great, it was also hella crazy at the same time, it was a hell of an arrangement for sure and I am sitting with my head just running thinking "Who did it!" every time I think I have an answer I second guess myself grrr. I am going to read the second book right after this but I wanted to get this done before I dive in.

Jasmine is awesome and I loved her character right from the start. I wouldn't change one single thing about her.

Chase, even though he is a selfish little fart I actually enjoyed his character, he def kept me on my toes but his love is all so refreshing because it showed that he wasn't an ass. I loved him in the end but in the beginning... not so much.

Lucy, Wendy and that other one are so far gone it's really sad. I knew Jasmine was going to be a problem. I swear they make me think of the saying "Why buy the cow when the milk is free" not one of them put up a challenge with chase and that is exactly why he was so smitten with Jasmine.

Oh Hell and Benny, Troy and Vivian omg I just have no words but I knew exactly what chase meant when he made the comment to Benny and I felt sick.

Off to read book 2

Loved this. So emotional, loved the writing style. Jasmine and her friends were great, funny, interesting and strong. Chase was sexy, and a total d**k at times. He obviously had never been in love. For what ever reason he decided to play it safe and get engaged to a childhood friend, Dawn , whom was a piece of work by the way. Then to stop him cheating they set up a harem of women with rules and regulations and their own special days... Man heaven... yet it seemed to drive the women crazy. A few had mysteriously died. He wants Jasmine to join the harem.. Luckily she is not immediately , 'I love you so much, anything for you, Chase'. She thinks they are all weirdo's. They are pieces of work.
They are great together you can see and hear the special in their relationship, but there are barriers.
This was an emotional read there were some parts I had a lump in my throat reading. I laughed , I cheered, I was filled with anger. Chase kept pushing for more, Jasmine resisted. I would say Jasmine seduced him with her character, she changed his world. This is essentially about Chase falling in love for the first time.. BUT there's lots more going on.
There are some revelations in Jasmine's life, there is also a murderer on the loose. The tension really started to ramp up towards the end. wow it was good. I honestly did not expect to like this so much. Usually I have reservations but not with this.

I have to say that this was quite challenging for me to read.

It started with controversy,

developed in more controversy ,

that's where things started to make me itchy and kind of yucky (is that a word? don't know but I
felt sticky and unclean),

i felt annoyed by the male (I still can't quite place him into the right drawer, f*ck, I can't even describe him in several words, he's appealing and yet at the same time he's NOT in a disturbing manner and then he's like a total spineless shit!!!)

and then a f*cking mistery appears

and then it ends...

and I'm like, wtf?

well, shit happens, right?

now, i have to read the second book!

All I can say about this book is that it started my addiction to Kenya Wright's books, and that it is seriously freaky...

This was definitely a worthwhile read produced by an author who has been underestimated.

Giving this one: 4.5 stars.

It was simply ok. The writing, overall, was good. The plot was okay, I guess if you're into the menage trois/love triangle conflicts in books. None of the conflicts raised in the book gets resolved at the end because this is book one of an apparent series.

Ms. Kenya Wrighhhttt....

I believe that everyone has their personal taste and effects that gives them a perfect book... which includes me (I like shy, plain heroines; I prefer books sans kids; I love my heroes to be singularly in love with the heroine without making him look like a wuss, and if done right - he can be ott with jealousy, obsessiveness and possessiveness tendencies 'its just my thing'; etc.... ) However, I know that many times going into a book you're going to find reasons to want to scream or knock some sense into a protagonist or tell the author 'to please erase this'.... I also know that just because the author didn't write your favourite trope, just the way you like it, doesn't take away from the greatness of a book... some books are a great read because the author found the right balance and was able to grip, command attention and make you scream for more even when your shouting "O hell NO"... for me, I enjoy those books immensely - and this was one such read....

I'm no faint hearted reader, I'm a Christian but I understand life is what it is (many shades of many difficult colors), so I go there with an author when they want to do things their way and throw a curve ball or two, or three... understanding that their not writing from my perspective and at times not even from their own.... so believe me when I tell you I don't take away stars from a great read just because it wasn't my prescribed desire or just because of some grammatical error nonsense, there are more than enough lazy and inconsistent authors out there for star reduction. So, when I see an author do their thing (especially at a five star level) I like to show my appreciation - hence this long drivel... lol

In addition, there are some tropes no matter how poignant I don't read or continue reading, because its not my 'thing' (e.g. I don't do dom-subs; paranormal; over-sexed books, etc) therefore there is never a need for me to write a bad review because of my personal displeasure... (some readers just need to lay off and realize how much hard work writing really is and if you don't like just don't bother). Sorry I'm going off on a deep end here, let me get back on track....

Now I'll say this - I didn't know, honestly I had no Idea I was commencing on a five way combo meal... if I did, I'd have NEVER gone there... but I ain't going lie, this story was high impact ENTERTAINMENT, and I enjoyed it, I became so animated - I was like "Chase is a little boy needing all those toys", "girl please RUN", "Gag reflex just came on", "never in a million years", "LAUGH OUT LOUD"; I was sharing so much advice. Funny thing is that the romance was there, and I was rooting for the little boy to grow up and for the insecure little girl to 'chose herself' (which meant to stay out of the crazy ARRANGEMENT OF LOVE) but yeah, I was there with my pom poms and my lollipop shaking my THANG!!!! whoop! whoop!

Talk about brave, bold, ambitious, Cray Cray, scrumptious literary paradise... I'm guessing that this story took a life all on its' own Ms. Wright, I'm guessing you did not initially plan for those sequence of events to unfurl but they did and you went with it.... good for you!

I'm so afraid yet excited to read book two...

Bravo!
Encore!
Thank you!

The arrangement of crazy

2.5 stars...

**contains minor spoilers**

Within the first few pages I was sure I was going to check out of this book. For instance, when Chase told not asked, but told Jasmine to change her hair, essentially to get a weave because she wore her hair natural. Nope. Then Jasmine falling under the poor black girl from the hood whose brothers are all incarcerated, mother is a recovering alcoholic raising her grandchildren trope. There are young black women who have grown up in middle class neighborhoods and went to decent schools and were raised in two-parent households, and weren't made into aunties before they were out of diapers. We do exist. But I kept going. This book made me feel something and I like feeling things when I read whether they're positive or negative emotions, so this definitely fulfilled that goal. I wasn't bored, I can say that much.

You have Chase, the billionaire, Jasmine the recent grad from Harvard that Chase is DETERMINED to have in whatever capacity she'll agree to, Dawn the fiancee, Wendy the girlfriend who loves her liquor, and Lucy the other girlfriend who was pretty much the referee. Toss those ingredients in the pot and yes you get high-grade drama, a lot of *nope* situations, and wondering just where everyone's going to stand with one another and with themselves.

I had my reservations when it came to Chase because he pretty much filled a quota when it comes to these billionaire books. Ridiculously handsome, a body to make a blind person see, egotistical, domineering--check. But he did have a sensitive side that surprised me. However, too many times the things he said to Jasmine, the manhandling, the undertone of threats, it was abusive. There's no need to sugarcoat it. There's desperation and then there's downright emotional manipulation, Chase is certainly guilty of the latter. Not too much of his past was exposed in this to give clues as to why he is the way he is, though it was explained why he basically had his own harem. I wasn't sympathetic toward him, but I didn't outright hate him either. There were times I found him charming and that happened whenever he'd try a new dish after scrunching up his nose in distaste after learning the ingredients. It was those moments I saw a bit of myself in Chase because when it comes to food my palate is very discriminatory.

Jasmine, she spent a lot of time running, lol. Running from how Chase made her feel, running from his proposition to join his arrangement, running after agreeing to give it a go with some modifications, literally leaving a country when faced with what it would be like to have not only Chase but the other ladies in his life, just straight running. From all the running she did, its kind of hard to piece together a timeline of how long she and Chase knew each other and dated. I don't blame her for wanting space to get some perspective, but she constantly went back and forth if the situation was for her without actually sitting down to look at the full scope of things. To *really* see what she had gotten herself into. Even when things were seemingly out in the open, that she knew her boyfriend was seeing other people, Jasmine didn't account for how that would affect her emotionally. And that was a lesson she kept learning the hard way time after time.

For added layers of drama, another paramour was thrown Jasmine's way that I'm not feeling at all. The arrangement already has too many people for my liking, no need to toss in another poor fool who unfortunately got the brakes beaten off of him for daring to like Jasmine and express that to her. Oh, which yes that fulfilled another check off the alpha billionaire checklist--violently jealous. I'm too invested in Chase and Jasmine to pay any attention to the possibility of Jasmine and her friend Gabe. He cooks gourmet food but came off to me as a stale French fry. But I'm sure he's nice ;)

There was a revelation that had some pretty devastating consequences for two of the side characters. That's a doozy and I'll leave it at that.

The epilogue, now I'm trying to figure out just who it was that's the killer among the flock. Jasmine, you in danger girl.

Other than some minor typos, this was an engaging read. Off to the next in the series.

This interview could make or break Jasmine. She needs this job her family needs her to get this job, with most of her family in jail. Her mother is raising her nieces and nephews and the bills are piling up. Being Executive Assistant to Chase Stone, Billionaire. What she didnt expect were all the intrusive procedures, the make over, the inappropriate questions and the 6 figure pay. When she takes on the job she doesnt fully understand the job requirements because along with being his personal assistant he also wants to bed her. Never mind hes engaged. Nope because they have an arrangement, its kinda confusing for me to try to explain but its basically a polyamorous relationship. Chase is not only engaged to Dawn but dating Wendy (Wendy and Dawn also date) and Lucy (his other assistant though their relationship is different). They have a very interesting arrangement, they all live together as Chases house is a mansion divided into apartments. Hes decided he wants Jasmine and wont take no for an answer.

She says no and yes and no. The girl cant decide but can you blame her. Hes extremely handsome, charming and im sure his bank acct isnt working against him. Their friendship grows. Flipping the tables Jasmine introduces Chase into a different kind of world. Ever the foodie the way to Jasmines heart is through her stomach. She enjoys being wined and dined until reality slaps her in the face. Her past plays a part as well.

While the story is mainly about those to there are some characters I would be remiss about if I didn't mention them and their stories so excuse me while I back track myself. Before taking this job Jasmine lives/lived with her best friend Vivian. Vivian is a super supportive friend, she doesnt completely understand this arrangement but she loves and supports her friend. Besides it makes way for the relationship between Vivian and Troy to grow.. That relationship in itself is TRAGIC! Troy is Jasmines twin brother. He has recently been released from jail and has no where to stay so Vivian offers up her apartment. An apartment paid for by Benny, Vivians Dad who has been a strong male influence in Jasmine and Troys life. Overprotective especially when it comes to Chase. He has worked with Chase in the past and knows the dangers Jasmine faces. Because the last 3 years in this arrangement have all died. Then theres Gabe, MADLY in love with Jasmine hes trying to “cook his way into her panties”.

Alright characters explained and hopefully I didnt give to much away. This book was my drug for a day or so. While there is a whodunit in there, Wright was careful enough not to give too much away. But I feel like I may have the killer. Oh and of course there were some steamy sexy pieces in there. I love Wright's books, but I swear she lovesssss to torture me (okay maybe not me specifically but when its happening it feels like shes aiming the torture this way!). The end of An arrangement well that was a massive cliffhanger for me. Mainly because I was a fool to think this was a stand alone but also because Jasmine made me sooooo mad with her actions! I totally cussed her out which im pretty sure my husband documented as proof when he decides I need professional help. I read this book a few days ago and the feelings are still raw for me.. forgive my insanities :D

An Arrangement of Love hits the spot, as a book lover it takes a lot of my to get engrossed in a book i will read it until I'm done (even if that involves using sleep time to make it happen). I am book on this series, once i hit 89% and realize theres no way its finished soon i knew i wasn't going to like the end, and i was right…because it goes into book two.

Jasmine has your stereotypical background, black girl from the projects, doesn't know her father, tons of siblings in jail and supporting her mother. The one thing that people tend to forget in this stereotype is with hard work and perseverance a lot of men and women like Jasmine get out of that and make better situations for themselves. A Harvard grad Jasmine gets the opportunity of a life time to work for hottie Chase Stone. From chapter one you become captivated into their story, nothing you would imagine hits you with each line. I can normally guess whats going to take place in a book within the first chapter and though i had some guesses on some situations, i was taken by surprise with a lot more.

I like Jasmine, i want to be her friend, but i also am worried about the arrangement she entered. Nothing about it specks good except the forth night. Jasmine and her best friend Vivian are like sisters, they remind me of my sister and i with their one liners and ability to know each other. One of my favorite things of theirs is their VIB test which i will be stealing.

"Each time i met someone i gave them the V.I.B. test. Vivian coined the term for vibrator, ice cream and book test. Basically, if i would rather spend time at night at home with my vibrator, a pint of Ben and Jerry's chunky monkey ice cream and a steamy romance novel, then he'd failed the V.I.B test."

Some of Jasmines insecurities i understood.

"I was the black new girl. I shook the thought away. Stop that. I had a tendency to be insecure when it came to race, always wondering if people were judging me used on bad stereotypes and if i was confirming those stereotypes"

Some things are hard to put into words, racism sometimes can be but Kenya managed to get that across in ways i have never been able to. Now don't think because I'm so in love with the characters the romance isn't there. Some scenes were so hot i needed to take a mental five minute break to be able to continue. Like all relationships its a tangled web that man only gets tangled more and more.
I have my guesses on whose POV the epilogue is from, i feel it has to be Dawn but a part of me doesn't want to discount Wendy. Great book, great chemistry, hot scenes, and a whole lotta drama!

An Arrangement of Love is nothing like I expected it to be. Reading the blurb I expected this Alpha male billionaire that gets what he wants all the time challenging the both book and street smart young girl right out of Ivy league, but what goes on in this book will take you on a roller coaster of emotions and situations that will enthrall you from the very beginning. When you first meet Jasmine for the first time, you can tell she is a take-no-bullshit type of girl that has worked hard to get out of the poor conditions in which she grew up and a relationship isn't in her immediate future. Everything about her life changes when she interviews for an assistant position with the Billionaire CEO Chase Stone and he wants to her become apart of not just his company but his personal life as well.

This personal life was more than just an intimate relationship, however, and that's where the story took a turn I didn't expect and was quite entertaining. You have this multiple partner arrangement that Chase is involved in with three other women and wants Jasmine to join, plus the murder of the last girlfriends, notice the plural, that has all of them reeling, and her intense attraction to this man that seems like a heart break waiting to happen that have Jasmine in a position of not knowing what to do next. Reading everything unfold and all of the things Chase does to try and lure her in, including multiple trips to foreign countries and lots of wooing, made this story less about a menage and more of an adventure for the main character. Obviously the heat coming off the pages due to these two made this book a love story versus just erotica. You wanted the two of them to fall in love and be together instead of just looking forward to the sexy scenes, and trust me those will not let you down either!

I've never read a book like this before that mix this kind of sexual situation with the little thriller moments throughout, and being unique is always a plus in my own opinion. I want to know what happens with these characters going forward, LIKE RIGHT NOW, and yes there is a little cliffhanger at the end that will leave you reeling for the next installment. However, this book will give you a little bit of everything you are looking for in a read that keeps you on your toes.

Review:

"An Arrangement of Love" by Kenya Wright was a very good read of a interracial, erotica, suspenseful and mystery urban read. I will say when I first started reading I had different thoughts of what I thought this read was about but as I dove into the novel I can only say what I found was a complete surprise. Leaving me only to say in the end ... wow that was some good read of Chase and Jasmine.

What I love about "An Arrangement of Love"

This novel is one that will hold your attention and truly having you turning the pages till the end. "An Arrangement of Love" was a read of intrigue and so very captivating only to hold your attention because you will want to know what is coming next. Yes, you will find this read of many twist and turns giving you 'love, conflict, craziness, suspense and even murder.' How can one man hold the attention of four women was really something to read of and this author tells this story so very well bringing out all the emotions of it all. I found this hero and heroine really interesting in how she is drawn into this arrangement. Will there be benefits for Jasmine? Yes, but at what price and I love how this author kept Jasmine second guessing herself. While reading I was caught up with some laughter and even some anger with some of this weirdness, however, this still was a good read of how Jasmine really seduces this hero who had fell in love with her. Now, to get it all you must pick up "An Arrangement Of Love" to see how this author brings it all out because there will be some other interesting facts of Jasmine life that will come from the entire read.

What I also loved about "An Arrangement of Love"

I loved the read being of a interracial couple that was very well written of love. The characters were all so very well portrayed, well developed, colorful and even memorable. Oh, I love the hot steamy sex...it was done quite well and so lovely in the read.

Now, there will be only one thing that is missing from the wonderful read and that is the ending. We will be left with a cliffhanger... the sequel hopefully will be out soon... 'A Test of Love.' I am sure we will get an interesting ending!

“I love how you think my orders are suggestions.”

Are you for real??

I’m a modern chick, and I hate to be told what to do. But yeah I admit I liked that quote.

To be honest I didn’t know if I should take a chance on this book. “Arrangement” romances have always intrigued me, but on the other hand I don’t care for polygamous relationships — at all. It honestly bothers me. (I am a believer in monogamy. I also can’t handle the gender bias in these relationships. One man with dozens of women, but the women only get to be with that one man? You’ve got to be kidding me! I don’t think so!) So I put my feelings aside and decided to read this book, based on the fact that that I really fell in love with the author after reading another novel of hers, and I wanted to try reading outside of my comfort zone. Well I am glad I did because I really loved it!!!

Chase is delicious! He’s a sexy and relentless alpha. He goes after what he wants, and he wants Jasmine. She fights him every step of the way, but he plans to wear her down until she gives into him and accepts the arrangement and the strong bond that has formed between them. Chase is doing so much chasing, that he doesn’t even realize how far he’s willing to go (or even give up) to win her body, heart, and soul.

I love Jasmine! The woman is strong and sassy but admittedly tempted by what Chase has to offer: an awesome well paying job, additional financial security if she would like it, and of course.. him. The man is ridiculously sexy and her body can’t help but react to his ministrations, but she still has enough of her brain in tact to question whether or not she could handle this kind of lifestyle. Can you really share a man with, not one, but THREE other women and not be consumed by jealousy and hurt? Her internal struggles and her on-again/off-again decision on whether or not to be a part of this tangled affair, came off realistic and authentic to me.

The plot was fast-paced, and well executed. The sex scenes were hot as well!

I’m so glad I took a chance on this one, it was definitely worth it! <3
