Masaun Hawkes is a driven man, a go-getter who has always enjoyed spicy/sweet candy and fiery women. Five years ago, his life was moving in the fast lane and he needed a change. Deciding to go into business with his younger brother, his life has become more manageable and stable. Co-owner of Decadent Treats by day and a full-time Dom and trainer at night, he should have everything he needs. Almost. Evenings at The Dollhouse dungeon have become emptier as he finds himself instructing new submissives, none his own. However, things are starting to look up when he delivers a special candy bouquet to the most captivating and tenacious woman. Masaun has never played second fiddle to anything in his life and he refuses to let Kindle put their relationship in that place—out of fear.

Kindle Langston’s life is anything but poetic. As the leading Assistant Commonwealth Attorney with too many high profile cases on her desk, she can’t even manage the time to fantasize about letting it all go. Stress and free are not two words that go together in her book, but each trial is pushing her closer to the edge. The day a basketful of treats is delivered by the sexiest and most compelling man, “Dom Hawk”, with a note commanding her into a clandestine world. And things begin to change. Is the life of a submissive what she has been craving? Can she risk allowing such decadent desires to be fulfilled? The risk seems too great to give in.

For the first time in their lives can they both fully commit for love?

I love romance, and writing is one of my greatest pleasures in life, outside of my husband and daughter. My belief in happily ever after began when I was sixteen and started reading romance books. Now, as an erotic romance author, I try to show that every woman, no matter her color, age, shape, or size, deserves a high level of passion in her life. Residing in North Carolina with my family.

Kindle is an ambitious prosecutor in the midst of the case that will make or break her career. If the stress and strain of possible failure does not overtake her first. Her best friend notices and sends something extra with a birthday wish. Mausaun is part owner of the boutique candy shop Decadent Treats, but is Dom Hawk in his private life. He sees something in her from their first meeting, and she is powerless to resist.

I was so pleasantly surprised by this. I haven't been having a lot of success with my interracial romance reads lately and didn't expect a last minute challenge fulfillment to be so good. I have read other books by this author, most were novellas. This full length novel did a really good job of building the romantic tension. It's BDSM, erotica for sure, but manages to effectively show relationship progression through the kink.

A hot and intense romance

I really enjoyed reading this book. The two main characters have such hot chemistry. Both are very strong and determined people who find themselves attracted to each other. I loved that they needed what the other person had to offer. He needed a strong and confident submissive and she needed a strong and experienced dominant. The story line was emotional and sexually exciting, I was unable to put the book down. I am so looking forward to Sweet's book!

DNF at 60%.

The prose is EXCRUCIATINGLY stilted.

Who writes like this? Where was the editor, the beta, a friendly advisor? It's truly painful. The salt in the wound: purple prose. We're talking one-eyed-one-horn-purple-people-eater level.

The writing is awkward, embarrassing, pretentious, unskilled, and riddled with grammatical errors.

The BDSM is ridiculous, unreal, forgettable and evinces ignorance.

Money wasted.

This was an amazing read! Yvette Hines is one of the best in the genre. I love her writing style and her books always keep me engaged. I struggle with this genre at times because it can get heavy, but she does it with class. The story is well told with well developed characters. I found the interaction to be engaging and the storyline to be very entertaining. We highly recommend this book, you will not be disappointed!! Add this to your collection today!!!

While I believe in the "Live and Let Live" philosophy when it comes to Interracial or LGBT relationships, I tend to stay away from reading Interracial romance novels, because my experiences with them have been too preachy to be enjoyable. When I read the cover blurb and looked at the cover to see if I would find it interesting, nothing was said about the heroine being an African-American female. The female on the cover of the book is very fair skinned, so that I could not tell one way or the other. Very early on in the story, I discovered that the heroine was an African-American woman and I was immediately turned off of the story. However, the hero intrigued me enough to continue with the story.

The heroine has serious issues when it comes to control, to the point of causing herself considerable pain to deal with the stresses in her day to day life. It is this self-flagellation that made me dislike the book even further. It came across to me that she was using it as a destructive means of coping, rather than doing something like finding a life outside her job via hobbies. Her name was also very distracting, because every time she was called Kindle, I was jarred out of the story and my thoughts turned to the device I was reading the story on!

The hero also had problems. He was TOO well controlled, and his first encounter with Kindle was confusing because he had two completely different thoughts and headspaces concerning her. He had the controlling side of the dom, but then desired her as a man and the two couldn't or shouldn't intersect at all. It confused me.

While the scenes of introducing Kindle were interesting and informative to me, it is the only thing I enjoyed in the book. Upon finishing the story, I learned that the hero's brother had a story as well and my first thought was that I didn't want to read it at all. All in all, I am sorry I spent the $3 and took a chance on this book. It is getting deleted out of my Amazon Library for certain, and I would not recommend it to others.

Red Hots is an incredibly sensuous erotic romance. It tells of Kindle Langston, a smart, driven woman who gives everything to her job. She needs balance in her life but seems unable to find it. Her best friend is in a 24/7 D/s relationship so she isn’t unaware of the lifestyle but she really doesn’t get it until she meets Masaun Hawkes aka “Dom Hawk”. He shows her that he can help her find a balance when she lets go and gives him control even if for just a little while.
I liked that Masaun has been where Kindle is now. He too had the driven, high profile, successful career that brought him no joy. Now he is still successful (maybe not making as much) but he has made changes in his life that make him much more at peace until of course he meets Kindle. I’ve met more than one Kindle in my life and am so very glad that this Kindle found Masaun.
The only thing I didn’t like about this book was the cover. I think it sad that the characters on the cover have absolutely no resemblance to the characters in the story.
