Not that deep or effectively presented

Some neuroscientists seemed too conversational and used terms that left the meaning unclear. Also I thought the two examples of shutter speed were not accurate. A first train shot where the train was blurred was an example of slow shutter (ok). But the second train example showed a train sharp but background of train was blurred. This was possibly taken from a vehicle moving with the train but also a slow shutter speed just that because the camera was planning with the train the train was sharp. If it were really a high or fast shutter the train background would not be blurred. At least not to that same degree. Just one Farmingdale of questionable content.

I got a new DSLR camera over a weekend and wanted to quickly learn the basics. This book quickly takes you through the basics of Aperture, Shutter speed and ISO settings. It talks about various lens types. How to frame a subject etc. I will recommend this book to someone who is impatient and wants to quickly get started. I had fun reading this book and will recommend it to the impatient.

I picked up the paperback version of the e-book.

This is a beginner's guide to a DSLR camera which I recently acquired. It shows the basics of the camera and is very easy to read. It covers all aspects from buying the camera to the different settings on the camera. There is even a section on what to do when editing your pictures.

The best part about this book was the simple, easy to understand explanations of everything. I appreciate the accessibility of the information. The only bummer in this is that it covered SO much information that I was left feeling like I wanted more pretty much across the board. Most thorough explanations, and most helpful, were about different lens options.
Overall helpful book.

I was looking for a book that would help me choose the right camera for me and help me understand what the terms were. It did all of that. It was clear and helpful. If you are looking for a photography step by step course, this is not it.

Not what I hoped for

I haven’t yet found a book that will help me compose the right setting for my camera and the picture I want to take. This one at least didn’t cost me any money... thank you Kindle for allowing me to read it for free...
I am going to continue with my search

Very informative. Thank you. Learning the difference between shooting with film and now a dose is great.

I recommend this book. Time well spent. Hate this review process. Took me longer to review than read the book.

I wish I had started here when I first got my DSLR camera. I have wasted a lot of time researching photography online but the problem is that the information is random bits and pieces all over the place. With DSLR Photography for Beginners you will get the basics that you would learn in a beginning photography class.

Since I am starting a blog and need good pictures for my tutorials I am once again trying to figure out this whole photography thing and this book has been excellent.

This book will explain simple photography terminology in a simple, easy to follow manner. Reading through the book, I realized that there were a lot of basic foundation terms and techniques that I didn't fully understand.

If you are brand new to photography, have never taken a photography class before and have an underutilized camera, waiting to be used, this book will provide you the foundation to confidently start your DSLR journey.

Time to get out and start shooting!

With the promising title it has I was hoping it would actually teach a significant number of tips and techniques. It unfortunately reads more like a series of blog posts about the function on the camera...
