This book describes many experiences of learning to see in the spirit.
It is exceptional in its description of many supernatural experiences that most people are not familiar with, such as orbs, heavenly creatures, shields, etc. while also describing encounters with angels and Jesus.
It also has a very thorough list of resources that would provide more extensive training in activating spiritual senses to see in the heavenly realm.
It also gives blunt warnings about enabling spiritual experiences that are not initiated by Jesus and which actually are very dangerous and similar to witchcraft. He explains the serious difference between seeing/traveling in the spiritual realm in order to fulfill God's ministry and that done for selfish reasons. He shows how we are in control of these experiences and can move from obedience to disobedience with resultant consequences. He makes it clear how these experiences must be done in God's timing and for His purposes. He also shows how it is possible to cut off these experiences because of fear, a very natural fear especially in a church which has allowed the New Age and occult practitioners to dominate these activities so that the church labels all supernatural experiences as evil. He shows us how we have been robbed of supernatural experiences that God wants us to use, as they were used in both the Old and New Testaments to demonstrate God's miraculous power and fulfill His purposes.
However, in my opinion, it is rather disjointed with chapters that seem to be repetitious. I think that the book would have benefited from better editing. Too many grammatical and spelling errors were distracting. I think that if God commissions a book, He also commissions an editor...
I feel that he described many encounters in not enough detail or perhaps not very effectively so that I was left with a feeling of incompleteness, an itch... A feeling that there was not enough information for these experiences to become attainable by me.
If you think that I am being overly critical, I will say that, if I had not read many other books on this topic and listened to many other speakers, I would have given this book a higher rating. But in comparison to other books which I have read, I think that this book is only middle-of-the-road.
However, I did learn things from this book that I have never read anywhere else. For that reason, I am glad that I read the book and I would recommend it for this reason.
It is short and simple. Perhaps it would serve well as a book for "beginners" to interest them in this topic. If I could read only one author on this topic, it would be the Praying Medic and his two books "Seeing in the Spirit Made Simple" and Traveling in the Spirit Made Simple".

An engaging, quick reference for how to live an exceptional life in God!
I chose this rating because this book was an easy read, very helpful, entertaining and is very valuable to me seeing a difference in my life already. I can not wait to really put everything I have learned, to practice. I took lots of notes and plan on reading and rereading this book, for many years to come. This book is life-changing!

How to see in the Spirit by Michael Van Vlymen
Book 26 of 2017 completed!
I heard Michael speak about some of his supernatural experiences in person and was blown away.
Some people are satisfied with milk or meat but I’m seeking hidden manna!
Imagine having an intense conversation about God with a friend over a meal; that’s this book! I really loved that he included ways to engage at the end of every chapter and ways to up your knowledge in this area.
My takeaways
1. Without a strong relationship with the lord seeing in the spirit is difficult.
2. The word is your foundation. Once you are elevated to this level one will see more than they ever imagined. Stand on the word as your defense.
3. Seeing in the spirit takes work. We use our natural eyes everyday so they are well trained.
4. There is no distance in the spirit.

Very Informative
I truly am blessed to read this book. It is truly a gift that God has led me to find and to explore. I have been exposed to many of the people written of in the book and I long to experience God on a whole new level, especially in seeing in the realm of the Spirit. What I am gleaning from what has been shared in this book will help me go further on my journey of discovery and fulfillment. I highly recommend reading and doing what has been shared within the pages of this book.

This book was recommended to me by Brenda Cobb Murphy, and caused a shift in my thinking. Firstly, it showed me that supernatural things really were open to all believers and one can walk in the supernatural as part of one's daily living. It doesn't have to be a one time thing. Secondly, it showed me that the supernatural is not evil - it's seeking it APART FROM JESUS - that is evil. With Jesus, He can do all things in you for ministry, and none of it is bad. That was also good to realize. I highly recommend this book, especially to anyone who like myself wants to see angels someday.

Awesome read
This is a great book on seeing in the spirit and also gives you the passion to seek after the lord fully. The trick is to actually spend intimate time in your prayer closet with the lord in prayer and waiting to get from him. Go after the lord with everything you have and fully honor him with your time and he will honor your you seeking of him and will reveal himself to you.

I read this book since 2017 and it changed my Word Life and helped me greatly, I started seeing visions in my Imagination like series of fast paced communicated images at the time.. but little did I know they were visions at the time. Until I begin to have an understanding that when a spiritual gift operate, sometimes your brain keeps a snapshot, and it is that snapshot that begins to replay in your memory that you think as imagination. I am willing to read again

The book title lives up to its content.
If you have interested or curios about seeing in the spirit, then this book is easy to read, understand and get into. His humility,joy and enthusiasm with which he relates his adventures with the Lord will leave you inspired and hungry to experience the same. I enjoy that he backed it up with the Word but he also tells you how to get to see in the spirit. I highly recommend this book.

Insightful
I enjoyed this book. For me it was a testimony from a contemporary whose love for God and all things God lives. My heart is filled with gratitude to our Lord who continually blesses me with gifts to affirm my love for Him and His presence in my life through the testimony of His Brethren. An eye opener
I choose this book because I want to learn more about the supernatural spirit realm. This book has truly blessed me because I now have an understanding of what it means to sit and be still after I have prayed. God will open your eyes if you are willing to be diligent and faithful.

More with the Lord is Possible
Michael wrote this book for people who love the Lord and want more than the ordinary with Him. He steps through the actions he took as he began seeking for the Lord's extraordinary. Michael's words are practical, astonishing, and encouraging. Really loved reading this!

An inspiring guide to the supernatural
I really enjoyed this book. I plan to 're-read it and take notes. I am really excited to try what you advised in each subject. I am a new child (actually a senior citizen) in this study so remember me in your prayers for I have many obstacles to climb over.

Eyes Wide Open
The Spirit gave me these words this past December-“eyes wide open” and “pierce the veil”. This book describes how to “enter in” to the spiritual realm, to go deeper in one’s faith walk desiring the “more” of what God has for us. Easy read with great helps in how to go deeper and higher in one’s journey with the Lord. Highly recommended!

Pretty good
Was very informative. Didn't not agree fully on all things but will prayerfully seek God on revealing all truth. I did enjoy the simplicity and straightforwardness presented in this book. Would not recommend to an unlearned person.

I agree with everything Donna wrote in her review! great examples and stories, some practical steps, and lots of encouragement to pursue seeing in the spirit. just not well organized and could have benefitted from better editing.

This practical guide written by the author, based on his personal experiences, attempts to provide a detailed consolidated outline on the intro into seeing in the spiritual realm. Interestingly, for those who truly believe should expects you see results.

It opened up my eyes.. Michael's book gives tips on how to see in the spirit realm. The secret is spending time with Jesus in fasting and prayer.
