Given the state of her Uncle Matt's health, Dr Holly Palmer knew they needed help in their medical practice, but did it have to be Dr Sam Stratton?
He was clearly over-qualified, more used to hospital hierarchy , and the only feasible accommodation for him was in the cottage next door.

Having coped with her husband's death, Holly didn't want to cope with further changes, and Sam would surely want to alter things- the fact that her nerve- endings sizzled whenever he came near wasn't the point!
