Teaming up with an old flame is not what bodyguard Chloe Howard would call a smart move. Nine years ago Chloe and T. J. Davenport worked on a case together, fell in love, then went their separate ways. Now she's reunited with the fearless bodyguard to protect a controversial couple on a book tour through Texas. And the reunion reminds Chloe of dreams best forgotten. She knows she has to keep her emotions in check so their clients' protection remains their top priority. Protection that is the only thing keeping them from falling prey to a stalker's deadly schemes.

Bodyguard Reunion is another fantastic addition to the Guardians, Inc. series by Margaret Daley. But don’t worry if you haven’t read the Guardians, Inc. series before. This book can stand alone. It is full of great suspense, danger, and romantic tension. I didn’t want to set this book down!
T.J. Davenport and Chloe Howard are bodyguards that have been called in to protect a husband and wife writing/speaking team as they go to the various stops on their book tour. They pair have been threatened and it is up to T.J. and Chloe to keep them safe. But things are complicated for T.J. and Chloe. Not only does it get harder and harder to protect these two individuals, but T.J. and Chloe are having a difficult time putting their past failed relationship behind them.
This book was filled with really great romantic tension! I enjoyed reading a story packed with so much danger in it, while also watching T.J. and Chloe deal with the return of feelings for each other that they both thought were dead. T.J. and Chloe were also very interesting to follow because they both had such serious trust issues. There was so much to resolve by the end of the book and the author did a great job of tying up all of the threads into a very satisfying conclusion.
I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review, which I have given.
Bodyguard Reunion By: Margaret Daley This is another wonderful and exciting book by our Margaret Daley. She knows how to pin a good suspense with romance thrown in. When I started reading "Bodyguard Reunion" I did not want to put it down. I could not wait to see what exciting thing was going to happen next. You will feel like you are right there with these two bodyguards and their clients. Chloe and T.J. worked together nine years ago on a case, fell in love, and departed ways. now they Find themselves teaming up together again to guard and protect the Zimmerman's, a controversial couple on a book tour through Texas. Chloe and T.J. each have their memories of working together. Can they put their past and feeling behind them in order to protect the Zimmerman's while they are doing their book tour. There is danger waiting them where ever they go. Chloe and T.J. have their hands full with the Zimmerman's and trying to keep them safe . The Zimmerman's lives are turned up-side-down because someone is trying to kill them where ever they go . I loved the way Ms. Daley brings God into all her books. I loved the exciting "Bodyguard reunion" and I know you will too. I was given a copy of this book to read for my honest review and I have given it.
My Comments Wow, what a great read! This book kept my full attention until the last page and has some great action! I sooooo enjoy reading Daley’s Love Inspired Suspense books and this one involves a book tour, how great :) Who knew a book tour could be so dangerous? Well, this one definitely is and it was interesting to see how these two bodyguards work together to protect this couple.
Paul and Mary Zimmerman were enjoying a typical book tour when someone released smoke bombs into the area causing a stampede that even injured a few people. That’s how the setup gets started with TJ and Chloe. TJ is assigned to guard Paul Zimmerman and Chloe is assigned to guard Mary Zimmerman. Their working situation is unique because they worked together in the past and also dated for a time. Usually, when professionals have gone through something like that in the past, they don’t work well together for a new assignment. However, these two agents go above and beyond what is expected of them.
Paul and Mary Zimmerman have written an international best-selling book that has captured the attention and the hearts of their readers to take back America for Christ. They also pray with people on the tour, reach out and minister to them, and do what is needed to bless the participants of the book tour. They love connecting with their readers and they refuse to cancel the tour even with these sudden attacks going on. They are very surprised that someone would want to hurt them, but they keep praying and trusting God to protect them. They even forgive the culprit long before it’s discovered who is doing it. They also love each other and support each other through the entire circumstance no matter how weary they become.
It was slightly inappropriate that TJ and Chloe kiss a few times on the job, but I found those to be sweet moments that relieve tension between them. They are both very stressed about keeping the Zimmermans safe; sleeping little, being on high alert, taking different shifts, keeping at least one agent near the couple at all times, putting their own lives and emotions on hold while working the case, and being able to keep their distance to give the family privacy when needed but also being close enough to keep them safe at all times. They even get to love Paul and Mary during this job and Mary gets to confide with Chloe about different issues. I don’t believe bodyguards get that personal on a job, but it enhanced the story tremendously.
Even though this book isn’t predictable, I suspected some of what was going on before it was revealed and I wasn’t surprised by it. However, this was definitely a clean page turner that illustrates the power of love and prayer and how evil intentions are exposed when we trust in God to take care of our circumstances. There is violence and family issues, but there is also hope, restoration, and forgiveness. There is also one scene where we learn that Chloe has one fear and TJ has another, of a certain ugly creature. All in all, this is one great book and I definitely recommend this for readers who enjoy suspense stories with faith and romance.
I want to thank the author for the review copy provided. I was not required to write a positive review. The opinions expressed are my own.
Woman bodyguards have some exciting days. Chloe was guarding Paul and Mary Zimmerman on their book tour. The agency added T.J. Davenport to work with her. They had a history nine years previously. Paul and Mary's son Aaron felt neglected while his parents were on tour and sending him to a academy away from the home. Aaron hired a man to pull some pranks on his parents; but the pranks became life threating. Aaron being a teen didn't know how to talk to his parents.
Love won out in the Zimmerman family, as well form Chloe and T.J.
Clean Christian romantic suspense. Chloe Howard and T.J. Davenport previously worked together as bodyguards and developed a serious relationship. But then T.J. broke it off to go into the Secret Service. Nine years later, they are now paired again as bodyguards. Will the past interfere with their assignment or will sparks fly once again? Fast paced, action as the two bodyguards try to protect a married couple who are the authors of several conservative Christian worldview books.
I enjoyed the relationship between the two main characters. I found it believable. But the family they were guarding were annoying and ignored all the advice they were given, endangering others when they did so.
This book “ Bodyguard Reunion “ is part of the Guardians, Inc. series. I read it as a stand alone book. It is an exciting read you won’t want to miss!!! Once you start to read the book, you won’t want to put the book down until the very end. Paul and Mary Zimmerman are traveling on a book tour to promote their New York Times best seller which some consider controversial. They find someone trying to interfere with the tour endangering their lives. They approach Guardians, Inc to get protection. The lead person picked for the job is TJ Davenport, who was once a secret service agent many years back. He will be responsible for guarding Paul. Mary Zimmerman will be guard by a woman well known and requested by TJ. Her name is Chloe Howard, a former Dallas Police Dept Officer. TJ and Chloe had worked together nine years ago on a case. They fell in love but circumstances had them go their separate ways. Will they be able to function together with their past history? Will they be able to focus totally on protecting the Zimmerman’s? This book is an action packed suspense story blended with Christian romance. The plot has as many twists and turns as there are potential suspects. A great read!!!
I was given a copy of this book by the author. The review is my own opinion.
Romance, suspense, learning to trust again are all qualities you’ll find in Bodyguard Reunion. Author Margaret Daley has a gift for drawing you into her stories enabling the reader to relate to the characters. This novel does that and more…I couldn’t put it down. Bodyguards T.J. & Chloe have a job protecting a controversial couple on a book tour, who are being stalked. T.J. & Chloe have a past but try to keep things on a professional level because they respect & trust each other & their clients’ protection is their top priority; however, spending 24/7 together has its challenges. Bodyguard Chloe is reminded some dreams are best forgotten and it’s important to keep emotions in check. Bodyguard Reunion is well-written, keeps your interest & I highly recommend it.
Margaret Daley brings us a suspense interlaced with a romance. This is the final installment in the Guardians, Inc. series, but this is a stand alone book. I loved this story. Ms. Daley brings us a strong, well developed characters. I loved and admired TJ for being open about his crisis of faith. He quits his job when it starts conflicting with his morals. Chloe is very tough and determined to do a good job, but at the same time she knows what she wants in her personal life and won't settle for anything less. The plot flows effortlessly and will keep you turning the pages. I would recommend this book to anyone who likes suspense or a romance. This book was given to me by the author in return for my honest and unbiased review.
Chloe Howard works for Guardians, Inc. and has since leaving the Dallas Police Dept. a few years ago. Chloe is a Christian and leans on God to guide her in all decisions. Growing up for her was difficult at times. Her father was in the Navy and there for gone a lot, so it was only her and her mom at home most of the time. She witnessed the anxiety and depression her mother suffered as a result of this.
Kyra Hunt, Chloe's boss has given her a new assignment which is to help guard Pau and Mary Zimmerman during their book tour after several unexpected stinks bombs were hurled into audience members. Paul and Mary have written a New York Times best seller titled "Taking Back America". There is much controversy surrounding this publication. Unfortunately she would be sharing this assignment and finds out on her arrival that it is none other than TJ Davenport. This was going to be a hard assignment because it means spending an entire month sharing responsibility with TJ.
TJ Davenport, once a secret service agent, and Chloe have a history. 9 years ago he was assigned to the counterfeit cases and financial crimes in Dallas and worked closely with the Dallas Police Dept. He met Chloe during an assignment and once the case was closed they began dating. Of course when offered a promotion to be a part of the protection detail for the vice president, it was not something he could turn down. He asked Chloe to move to Washington, but at the time her mother was undergoing treatments for cancer and she could not leave. At first TJ tried to keep in contact with her, but after witnessing what her mother had endured during their marriage Chloe knows she can't handle a long distance relationship.
When the Zimmerman's publisher contacted TJ with this assignment he knew he would need help, so he contacted a long time friend at Guardians, Inc. and specifically asked that Chloe be the agent they sent. Chloe plans to do her job and not let her personal feelings get in the way. As the book tour progresses Paul and Mary continue to have unexplained threats occur, but they turn a blind's eye to them. TJ and Chloe must remain vigilant until the police can figure out who is sending these deadly threats.
Chloe Howard and TJ Davenport are bodyguards hired to protect the Zimmermans, who've written a bestseller but are being harassed on tehir book tour. When harassment escalates to attempted murder, the number of suspects increases, and ultimately includes their teen-aged son, Aaron.
How it all ends becomes obvious as clue after clue adds up to a ho-hum ending, not at all surprising.
This book was a little different than the title and back cover suggested, however it was an okay read. A few surprises at the end, which helped the number of stars it got...
Some action. Chloe Howard and TJ Davenport are working together as bodyguards to protect a couple. Chloe is unsure of this as she and TJ had dated 9 years ago and were pretty serious until he took another job in another state. Will she and TJ be able to keep the Zimmerman's safe from whoever is trying to harm them? Will they figure out who is behind the attacks before it is too late? Is it someone with a grudge because of the talks they give; or someone who works for them or just some crazy person?
Partnering with an old flame is not the most comfortable assignment but Chloe and T.J. are first rate and will keep it professional most of the time. What starts as a ploy for attention is suddenly deadly. Keeping clients safe when they don't take the threats serious is a real headache. When this assignment is over, how will Chloe and T.J. continue? Maybe they just need to go their separate ways.
this is a page turning story, they are both bodyguards protecting a couple on a book signing tour, there are several attempts so they cancel the tour and go to their ranch, with there teenage son, thing s get worse, I could not put the book down very good if you like suspense and romance you will love the story
I enjoyed the whole book. The suspense seemed real. The main characters showed real growth even the raw side of un ease and indecision. And, I like and epilogue!
Margaret Daley's book "Bodyguard Reunion" again she came out with a great romance, danger, and suspense book. Chloe Howard teamed up with her old flame, which was not a very smart move. T. J. Davenport and Chloe Howard, they are both bodyguards with Kyra Hunt's company the Guardians Inc. Chloe and T.J. worked together on a case nine years ago and fell in love. But it just didn't work out. Chloe mom was sick with cancer and T.J. took a job in another state and wanted Chloe to go with him. Chloe thinks she still loves him, but his job always came first above anything else. In this job they are guarding a couple Paul and Mary Zimmerman, who wrote a book called "TAKE BACK AMERICA" bestseller list on New York Times. There had been threats on their life. They were on a tour where they had several places where they were speaking! As they were finishing their speech in this auditorium, all of a sudden a fire broke out on stage! T.J. was trying to get Paul off of the stage and Chloe was trying to get Mary off of the stage! It was a very frightening time. People got into a fight trying to get out first. People got burnt. Someone had placed the trash bin to block the door that T.J. and Paul tried to get out of. After all of this happened T.J., Paul, Mary and Chloe were headed to the Academy the school where Paul and Mary son Aaron was at! They were all going home, they though there wouldn't be anymore attempts on their lives, but they were wrong. Will T.J. and Chloe be able to protect Paul, Mary and Aaron, oh yes we can't forget Vickie, that is Mary's cousin who lived with them? How many people will get hurt or killed before it is all over with? Will Chloe and T.J. get together and have a family? Be prepared to set on the edge of your seat!!!! It not who you think it is doing all these things!! Blessings and if you don't get this book you will be sorry. I was given this book for my honest opinion, it is a great romance, suspense and danger popping up all the time, i am so glad i got a chance to read it. Thank you Margaret for the book. Norma
3.5 stars I keep picking up the last book in a series lately, Bodyguard Reunion, being one of them. The Guardians Inc. series has six books in it thus far. From what I can tell, the series is about female bodyguards working for Guardians Inc.. Each book focuses on a different case, bodyguard, and romance. In this case, Bodyguard Reunion is about Chloe and T.J.. Chloe and T.J. fell in love nine years ago when they met, while working on a case. T.J. left for Washington D.C. when he had the chance to work for the Secret Service. Chloe stayed in Texas, caring for her mother who had cancer, and both wondered what would have happened if T.J. hadn't taken the job, or of Chloe had joined him once her mom got better. Now, nine years later, Chloe and T.J. are working together to guard the Zimmermans, a couple with a book on the bestseller list, and a book tour all over Texas. Someone doesn't seem to agree with their message. There have been threatening letters, stink bombs, and problems that keep escalating. Only Chloe and T.J. stand between them and whoever means them harm. Okay, we know that Chloe and T.J. will prevail. I think you can also guess that they'll work out their differences, and fall in love all over again too. The fun part, was the journey getting there. The suspense was well done, and kept me guessing at who could be behind the attacks. I also enjoyed the romance. Chloe and T.J.'s relationship seemed natural, as did their reservations. I liked how well they worked with one another, I also liked the family dynamics with the Zimmermans. If you like christian romantic suspense, Bodyguard Reunion is definitely worth a try. I don't think reading the other books in order is necessary, but from the descriptions, I now want to. Content: clean Disclosure: I received a copy of this book from the publisher, through NetGalley.com, in exchange for an honest review.
Bodyguard Reunion was a little slow in getting started when it does Chloe and T.J find their backs against the wall. They must protect a famous Christian author couple who want to spread their message about families taking back America.
Aaron the couple's son, test Chloe and T.J's abbility to protect his parents. There is a moment where (I the reader) think and believe that Aaron is behind the immedate threat to his parents. It unfolds that Aaron set the ball in motion for his parents horrible book/speaking tour. He hoped that the pranks would bring his parents home and make them spend time with him. His cousin Vickie takes over Aaron's plan and turns it into a death plan.
A spooked teenager tries to stop the attacks but can't. After a shooting at the ranch brings the truth out of him. Nether Chloe or T.J will find their job isn't done when Vickie tries again to kill off Mary, Aaron and her husband.
This job managed to bridge the nine year gap and allows Chloe to see that she wants more than just her job. T.J is also taken back to The Lord and find himself wanting more than just his bodyguarding job this brings the lovers back together.
From the beginning of the book I could see a strong and wonderful writing style. She has a strong story and great chemistry with her two main characters. After the first two chapters I believed that he just not only kept the 5 stars she managed to convince me that it should be 10 stars, but Amazon only allows 5 stars.
Congratulations Margaret Daley for your wonderful work and I'm looking forward to your other work.
I have enjoyed this series about female bodyguards. Someday I would love to read the ones I have missed. This looks to be the last of this series. It was good. Full of action, drama, faith and clean romance too.
The plot when Chloe went to meet the woman she is to guard she gets a surprise. The male bodyguard that she is to work with is an old boyfriend of 9 years ago. He went to be a bodyguard for Vice President. Now he has left the Secret Service and is back in Texas. They are going to be bodyguards to a couple on a book tour. Someone has sent threats, and smoke bombs.
Chloe Howard used to be a detective now she works for Guardians, Inc. A female bodyguards. She has a strong faith. She is wanting something more now.
T.J. Davenport worked for the Secret Service when he worked with Chloe before. They dated and were getting serious when he got a chance to transfer to Washington D.C. and be guarding the Vice President. Now he has a hard time trusting and has left. He wants more too now than the job.
It was a enjoyable book with some nice twists I was not expecting. Some I did guess but not all of them. A lot about faith and prayer. Some good humor too.
The setting is Texas modern times. The pace was good, every time it looked to calm down something else would happen. It is a quick read.
I was given this ebook to read for purpose of giving an honest review by Netgalley & Harlequin.
Bodyguard Reunion, by Margaret Daley Chloe Howard and T.J. Davenport were a couple nine years ago but family oblations and careers got in the way. They each went their separate ways, only to find themselves working together to protect Paul and Mary Zimmerman. As the author’s go on a book tour they meet danger at every corner. The Zimmerman’s lives are turned up side down and Chloe and T.J. are thrown together doing their best to leave the past in the past and be professionals. Bodyguard Reunion is part of the Guardians Inc. Series but is also a stand along book. The author Margaret Daley does an outstanding job of incorporating the Christian message into the story line. Bodyguard Reunion is sure to keep you at the edge of your seat with mystery and action around every corner, and a touch of romance will have your heart melting. If you are anything like me you will have a difficult time putting this book down. It is well written, with heartwarming characters. I highly recommend this book. I give it 5 stars and can’t wait to find the other books in the series I missed. I want to thank the author Margaret Daley and publisher for bringing good clean Christian books like this one to readers like me. I was provided a copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.
I am a huge fan of Margaret Daley's work and when given the opportunity to read and review her newest release, Bodyguard Reunion, I jumped at the chance. As usual with anything written by Ms. Daley, I fell in love with her characters and their story.
Bodyguard Reunion is the story of Chloe Howard and T.J. Davenport. These two characters come into this story carrying a past with them, a shared past. They had previously worked together and fell in love only to separate after the case was completed. They now find themselves partnered up again as bodyguards for Paul and Mary Zimmerman, a couple who is quite controversial and currently on a book tour.
While working together to protect the Zimmerman's, Chloe and T.J. find their old feelings stirring back up again but realize they have to keep their feeling in check or risk botching their jobs as bodyguards.
I thoroughly enjoyed reading Bodyguard Reunion and would highly recommend it to anyone who loves to read a good clean romantic suspense novel.
On a 5-Star Scale = 5 Stars!!!!!
I would like to thank the author, Margaret Daley for my copy of Bodyguard Reunion. I received my copy for free in order to read it and give my honest opinion which I have done.
This is the last book in the Guardians Inc. series about female bodyguards. I have enjoyed the whole series but you don't have to read all the books to read this one. I can be a stand alone book. I have always enjoyed Margaret's writing style and this is no exception. She knows how to grab the attention of the reader and keep it throughout the book. There are enough twists and turns in the storyline to keep you guessing, with some romance thrown in to keep you interested too! this story reunites Chloe and T.J. who were dating 9 years ago in Dallas but broke up when things didn't work out and they went their separate ways. Now they are guarding a couple whose lives are threatened as they embark on a book tour. Things seem to escalate instead of get better and Chloe and T.J. are no closer to finding out who is behind all the attacks. As things become more deadly, can they possibly find out who is behind it all in time to save their clients' lives? You'll just have to read it for yourself!
