Although I have been a published author since the mid 1980s, I have been writing women's Christian fiction almost exclusively since 1999.

There is a longer, more detailed bio on my website so there's no need for me to repeat all that here. Right now, I write for all three Love Inspired lines, Romance, Suspense and Historical. I'm delighted to have been included that broadly and besides, it keeps me so busy that I stay out of trouble. Well, mostly.

You'll find me on the LI Historical blog as well as other LI features. If I try to do much more I won't have time to write my books!

Book 5

Where as the other books brought about a new love relationship, this book repairs an existent one. Dylan was the attorney who handled the adoptions of the kidnapped babies, but he didn't realize what he was doing at the time. He was too busy enjoying the bonuses the job was bringing. At the same time he was losing his own family because the job took up all his time.

Gracie got tired of her husband always being gone and filed for divorce. When her husband was arrested for his part in the baby adoption ring, she became even more angry and bitter. She enjoyed the big house, fancy cars and clothes his job brought her but she wanted him too.

When they have to go into hiding together she thinks she'll kill him before it's all over, but then they both start to have a change of heart and realize what's important in life. In the end Dylan is able to give information for reconnection of a baby and it's mother.

One more book and we'll know who the mole in the Marshal's office is, we'll learn much more about Marshal Summer and Marshal McCall, and we'll learn who is behind the baby kidnapping ring!

I really enjoyed this book. The three kids made me laugh more than once throughout the story. Dylan and Grace were in the process of getting divorced but when faced with packing up and running with their family from evil men, they worked together. They too had a since of human that made me chuckle a time or two. This book talked a lot about faith and Dylan and Grace prayed throughout the book. Their faith had to be stronger than their fear. I loved the action and suspense of the story. I love this whole book series. Each book is a standalone. I’ve read them out of order and wasn’t confused at what was going on. I would recommend any of the books from this series.

#5 Witness Protection Continuity

Dylan McIntyre was the lawyer who was involved with the legal work of Perfect Family Adoptions ~ only the adoptions were illegal, and Dylan is now in trouble.

Not that Dylan intentionally became part of the mess, but in his pursuit of success and fortune, he did the work his firm asked, and brushed aside the nagging thought that some of these adoptions were happening too fast.

Now, he knows too much, and has put himself and his family in danger. Their only choice is witness protection. But can the children keep quiet about their old life? And will his estranged wife now forgive him. On the brink of losing everything, Dylan realises his family would be his greatest loss. This time in witness protection could give him the one chance to make things right.

A good continuation in the Witness Protection Continuity. I really felt for the children who don't understand the uprooting and the danger they are in, just what they are leaving behind.

1. Safe by the Marshal's Side (Witness Protection) by Shirlee McCoy 2. The Baby Rescue by Margaret Daley 3. Stolen Memories by Liz Johnson
4. Top Secret Identity by Sharon Dunn 5. Family in Hiding (Witness Protection) by Valerie Hansen 6. Undercover Marriage by Terri Reed

You really do need to read these books in order as each book, while a story on its own, also has a plot which runs & develops through all the 6 books, building up to the grand finale in book 6. This means that you will not only want to read this book, but also the other 5 in the series! So if you are looking for a one off story to read, then this is not the book for you. However, if you are short of reading material & want a series to get you going, then you might want to try out this series.

I have loved this series and this book is no exception. I loved the way the characters turned to God for forgiveness and for his help in solving the mess sin had created. God never leaves us.

"Family in Hiding" is a Christian romantic suspense. This story was less about avoiding attacks--though there were some--or solving a case but about trying to adjust to being in Witness Protection and assuming new identities. Especially with 3 pre-teen kids involved.

Dylan wanted to provide abundantly for his family, so he spent a lot of time at work and got into to less-than-legal adoptions, though he didn't realize the children were being kidnapped. In return for providing evidence, he and his family were given new identities and moved to a new state. Grace didn't want to go with her husband as she felt angry with him and was trying to get a divorce, but she was also targeted by the crooks.

Dylan first decided to seek forgiveness from God then determined to be the husband his family deserved. Grace came to realize she'd contributed to their relationship problems, too. There was no sex or bad language. Overall, I'd recommend this interesting romantic suspense.

This...was...great....

Gracie and Dylan are on the brink of divorce. All Gracie wanted was a good honest man to grow old with and build a family with. Apparently, Dylan was the wrong choice. Involved in a scandel that shook her world and tore her family to pieces, Gracie isn't going to get any where near Dylan. That is, until her life is in danger too. Forced to go into witness protection with her three kids and her husband, Gracie is determined to keep her family together and alive....and that includes Dylan whether she likes it or not.

Dylan knows what he did has hurt his family more than he expected. Now they have to leave everything behind and go into hiding all because of him. But maybe this is a good thing and he and Gracie have to be together and act as if they were in love. Maybe this is his second chance to prove to her that he is the man that she first fell in love with and that nothing is ever going to come second to family again.

If you like clean suspenseful romance then look no further than this. The story was interesting and flowed smoothly. This was a real page turner and a real winner for Harlequin. I highly recommend this book for ages 16 and up for slight violence and mature (not gory or graphic) material.

While I liked watching Dylan and Grace rediscovering their love while starting witness protection with their children, I didn't buy the parents being unaware of their oldest son's phone use. The fact that their children were so young made the fact that they leaked the location believable - but I didn't think a 10-year-old would have his friends' phone numbers memorized. The conclusion felt a bit too convenient.

I really enjoyed this clean, Love-Inspired, Romantic Suspense. I bought this at a local Goodwill store and I voluntarily chose to review this story. I've given this a 5* rating. This pretty much pulled me in from the beginning and the action pretty much kept coming and had me turning the pages. This is part of a Witness Protection Series and it was the story of another character. This answered more of the questions in this series.

A good read. Grace McIntyre is forced to go into the witness protection program when her estranged husband Dylan has gotten caught up in dealings with a crime ring and it brings danger to her doorstep. Will they be able to stay safe and keep their kids safe? Will the marshall's be able to keep them safe so he can testify? Is there a mole in the marshalls department? What is going on?

This is somewhat unusual, because a couple was in love, married and drifted apart. Being relocated for Witness Protection turns them into new people who long for their past lives. The baby trafficking ring will not let them survive, though. They do realize what matters.

A mystery

A husband messed up & his family had to move. His wife filed for divorce & so far had custody of the kids. They were now in police custody.
A great story of 2 misguided people learning what really mattered in life & hoped to survive the mess they were in.

I did not enjoy this book……..she was a spoiled brat, no wonder her husband felt like he had to work all the time to give her everything she wanted. It was clean.

Grace has a hard choice to make. With the way it is presented to her by the Marshals though, there really isn't a choice. I think she handled it pretty well. It was funny when she started trying to tell them what she did & didn't want.

I liked the story overall, but there was a couple things I didn't like. I think she could have been a little more careful what she said about/to Dylan in front of the kids. Also there was a few times that it seemed like they started a discussion with the kids present, but then it was almost like they just weren't there anymore. It was weird.

Like the rest of the books in this series, there was a good amount of action & suspense. I really enjoyed watching Grace & Dylan rediscover each other. Grace had to work at forgiveness, but she did so. They both grew through their time on the run. I was also glad to see them supporting each other when it came to talking to/disciplining the kids

I think a family, especially with young children, would be the hardest to relocate & hide.

This was really a 3 1/2 star book for me.

Family In Hiding is the fifth book in the Witness Protection series. I did not read the first four books but would like to. I am just starting the last book in the series. These two books are together. Looking forward to see who is stealing babies and selling them. Family In Hiding has Dylan McIntyre as an attorney who helps adoption parents get a baby. Dylan doesn't know the babies are stolen. The police are involved. Dylan and his wife and three kids go into witness protection. Bad guys find them. One child is kidnapped. Parents get him back. Family is relocated to Hawaii. The bad guys are still out there. They don't want Dylan to testify against them. Lots of suspense. A new romance happens between Dylan and his wife. A very good read. Must read.

The Marshals are closing in on the baby selling ring. Dylan, Grace, and their family is falling apart as they head into Witness Protection, but as the Marshals tighten their grip on the case, God is tightening His grip on their family.

It was part of a series, but regrettably so stand alone that it did not feel like part of the same series. A decent read nonetheless.
