The Rocker That Holds Her

I had big dreams of how I wanted my life. Becoming a rock star was all I wanted. It would solve so many of my problems. With the money that I would make I was going to take care of my mom, get her out of the hell hole we had been living in all my life. Having your dreams come true isn’t something that many people get to accomplish in life. I did, and I loved it.

For about a minute…

It’s funny how when you think you have everything you could possible every want, your dreams change. Mine did without my even realizing it. Then I opened my eyes and saw that everything I ever wanted was standing in front of me.

From the first day I set eyes on Emmie she became a part of me. The guys and I spent years watching over her, caring for her… Loving her. Then without my realizing it my love for her changed. I found myself aching for her, wanting her in a way that a guy like me had no right to want her. My love and need for Emmie became an all-consuming ache that I was helpless to fight against.

Would she ever open those big green eyes and see me as anything but a friend?

The Rocker Who Holds Her is the 5th book in the Rocker series and Nik and Emmie’s second book. I had mixed feelings going into this one. Nik and Emmie’s story had already been told in book 1, but it was so short. I wasn’t opposed to reading another book with them, I just didn't want to read the same old same old. Although there were some new scenes and a lot of things from Nik’s POV, I pretty much already knew what was going to happen and how their story would go because of book one, and things that have happened in the previous reads. Not much new material, but still an enjoyable read. 3.5 stars.

I listen to this audio book without reading previous book.

Most of the POV is done from Nik POV. Even without reading the previous book, I can tell this series has good promise. Now I wish I can get my hands on the first book. The story of Nik and Emmy in a full novel.

The Rocker Who Holds Me is more like novella. So the story is more like summary and rushing toward the ends. The conflict and the plot is downplayed. The conclusion is rushed. It is cheesy romantic but I enjoy listening to the audiobook.

The Rocker Who Holds Her was the fifth book in the Rocker series by Terri Anne Browning. However, it took us back to book one, The Rocker Who Holds Her, from Nik’s perspective.

Nik was the lead singer for the famous rock band, Demon’s Wings, while Emmie was family to the band. Browning took us back to their childhood with Nik’s perspective of meeting Emmie. She was five and he was fifteen. At the onset, he was her protector. I enjoyed the gaps that Nik filled in when Emmie was younger. I loved that the big bad rockers took care of her.

I wasn’t sure how I was going to like The Rocker Who Holds Her because it was a rewrite of the first book; however, it was so much more and I loved it. Browning filled in the gaps well and answered questions I had from previously. It was a quick, enjoyable and happy read!

Browning also introduced us to Demon’s Wings tour mates, OtherWorld. They will continue the series with Axton Cage up first in The Rocker Who Wants Me. Until then, The Rockers’ Babies is up next and I can’t wait!

This is not a book that reaccounts events from another POV.. No!
It gives us, other than a new perspective, also a new story!

Nik is really great but the story lacked on some places..

I loved the first half of the book,it reminded me why this couple holds a special place in my heart.. Nik's memories of the tragic things that happened to Em were heartbreaking all over again..

Nik himself had a rough time too.. He let us in some details of his own tormenting childhood.. So the first half, yeah it was great, but the rest for me it was kinda boring..

I was happy to see all the other guys happy now, after they all found love.. And most of all Jesse.. he is still my favorite..

THOUGHTS ABOUT THE BOOK
- The hospital scene is still the best scene..
- All the characters of the series are here..
- It was written from Nik's pov but we had the chance to she some parts from Em's too..
- Em in this book seemed a little unapproachable..
- Their daughter is precious..
- I'm so happy Rich is not with them anymore.. He looked like an ass..
- The ceremony was very romantic..
- The tattoo's also so cute..
- Axton, wow he is my second favorite! I want his book..

She was sent to me so I could protect her, and I would.

I loved this series and reading Nik's POV was a huge treat for me! There is just something about reading the guy's mind that is just oh-fuckin' sexy! Makes me want to shred my panties into pieces!

Nik is sexy.. protective.. sinful.. possessive and every woman's dirty rock star fantasy!

Even though I was re-reading some scenes- it was somewhat different from Nik's POV. I adored Nik but after reading this book, I seriously fell hard for him!

The first moment he met Emmie?
The time he realized he fell in love with her?
The jealousy that was eating the shit out of him?
The scene when they found out she's preggy?

Okay, I don't want to be harsh at my review but I really couldn't stand to keep reading at the end of the story. I loved the first book of this series but other books are a huge disappointment for me.
Maybe I'm not in the mood but it couldn't keep my interest.

Oh Emmie Emmie Emmie...Yeesh, I don't why but I have a serious issue with you. No wait, I do know, you're a bitch! I just couldn't get into her character AT ALL. I've tried, really I have, but she just pushes every irritating button I have. I have all the books in the Rocker series and I love them all, minus the first one. I wanted to read this one because I really like Nik and wanted to read his POV thinking, maybe it would help me get a better feel for Ember seeing her through Nik's eyes...I was wrong. I do have to say that Emmie as a little girl was truly heartbreaking to read and I felt terrible for what she went through growing up, it's just when she "grows up" that my problem lies.

Don't take my word for it, some fans may really like her, but she is just not my cup of tea. I just really had a hard time connecting with her.

Will most definitely continue with the series because I love Axton and want to know what happens with him and Dallas.

I read this concurrently with no1 in the series The rocker who holds me because they are about the same characters but from the other's POV. I suddenly got the urge to read some rocker angry romance and after searching and searching this one called out to me. The first 50% was a 5 🌟 for me, the backstory was heartbreaking and the relationship between Em and the guys was beautiful but once the secret was out and all was revealed unfortunately it missed the mark a little and became way too cheesy. 3 🌟 on the 2nd half. I need the angst! All in all not a bad efforts but lacked a little.

In the Rocker That Holds Me, the first in Terri Ann Browning’s Rocker series, we had Emmie and Nik’s story from Emmie’s POV. Here we read Nik’s side of things. Of all the band mates from Demon’s Wings, Nik is my favorite. The lead singer has been in love with Emmie for a very long time, fighting his feelings for a few of those years, due to her age. For Nik, his protective feelings of a big brother slowly changed to those of a man for a woman. He drowned himself in alcohol and groupies, trying his best to suppress the feelings he had for Emmie, believing she deserved better and didn’t reciprocate his love.

I love reading a guy’s perspective in scenes previously written from the girl’s view point. How Nik could misinterpret Emmie’s reserve for disinterest makes me shake my head. Only a guy would fail to see a woman trying her best to guard her heart, especially after she knows he falls into bed night after night with a different woman.

Nik finally gave up trying to forget her with the flavors of the night, and chose to be alone rather than keep using women when it was all in vain. Nik’s reaction to Emmie and Axton’s friendship and his rage over her pregnancy was such a revelation of how he must have been hurting all that time. He longed for her but believed she had feelings for Jesse or Axton and would never see him for anything but a big brother.

When these two finally opened up to one another, Nik really showed his swoon worthiness! Not only is he hot and gorgeous, but he wrapped himself up in his Emmie bubble and the love his shows for his little girl, almost made me tear up.

What a great addition this latest installment is to the Rocker series. It keeps getting better and better!

"You were my dark prince in rusty armour when I was a kid, now you have become the reason I get up in a morning"

Nik and Emmies story told this time from Niks pov.

Following the series Emmie is central in all the guys lives the beaten abused little girl they a watched out for and protected in the trailer park all playing a part in her wellbeing.

Emmie becomes the glue that holds them together and as the family grows each guy finding there own relationships this still doesn't change.

Nik and Emmies story is beautiful, the first book was told from Emmies pov this is told from Niks but is also years later when the other guys have also settled down so it isn't repeating the first book and does involve new characters which I'm sure will surface in other books further down the series.

Two people, soulmates meeting under horrible circumstances as children, Nik becomes Emmies protector along with the other guys in this band of brothers.

A childhood to adulthood love story that is heartwarming.

Fellow readers, recommended to start from the beginning of the series were it all began you will love it, like I have.

The Rocker That Holds Her (The Rocker, #5)

Amazing and interesting Nik❤️Emmie❤️ Love story 5 stars for me

“You are my favorite dream come to life and I never want to let you go.”

I don't know how this audio is but this story is definitely worth 5 stars

Most of the story is Nik’s POV childhood how he first noticed 5-year-old Emmie
How he took care of the girl and how the boys took care of her through the years
Also how their music careers began how they went on their first tour,
and left little Emmie behind but were in contact with her all the time
Fame and Rock-star life on their first record etc.
When they finally rescue Emmie and how a little girl grows into a woman

It was all interesting to read and at the same time very emotional because somehow
either I forgot or the author hadn't mentioned that they have a 10-year gap Wow
Emmie's moods also changed over the years with her clinging to the boys more and more
Who were to her for dad or brother or her lover they had a strong bond
Even if they have women and children, they are still together
The epilogue was drama and also beautiful

Thank you!

The start was promising, I liked the 'girl raised by a group of rowdy boys' premise and it reminded me of For The Roses (I've only read like 5 pages of this book, but still). But after that, ugh. I can't believe I sat through the entire thing; should have called it quits when I came across the first of many red flags. The most thrilling part of this novel was the hero's 'making irrational decisions out of jealousy when my gf rightfully kicks me to the curb for being a dumbass' phase. This phase read like a Wattpad novel with the never-ending cycle of 'miscommunication' in one chapter, 'screaming/crying/break-up' in the next chapter and then finally a 'oh lol it was just miscommunication + I love you babe, I'll never hurt you again'. Rinse and repeat until readers are sufficiently aggravated.

This book starts from the moment Nik meets Emmie and how he started to see her. While it does group together some of the characters to their happy ever after it does change certain perspectives and the relationships of one another. This continues until you see Nik and Emmie married. Yes, this does have more books in the series but it's part of what's to come. This is the point of view of Nik and his point of view on Emmie it does cover up the first four books and what has happened already. Emmie does feel guilty over the decisions that Drake made and her blaming Lana. It is a bit bittersweet because it is a better understanding of the continuation of the stories.

Este libro ha sido una delicia. Es la historia contada desde el punto de vista de Nik, añadiendo más a la historia.
El primer libro de la saga me pareció muy corto y este lo completa perfectamente y va más allá.
Emmie y Nik siguen siendo mis personajes favoritos. Y me ha encantado conocer el punto de vista de Nik.

Review might contain spoiler if you haven't read the previous books

It's kinda disappointing....

I've been sooo excited to read Nik story though!!
And to be honest I read all those book 2, 3, 4 is just because I want to read this book. Because from what I read in some review, it said that I won't understand this before I read all the previous books, so I did.
But then this all I got from this book.....

I AM SO
description

If you think this is just Nik POV of book 1?
description

There's new fact about Nik's past that revealed, which is good because we got to know about him more.

What I like about this book:
ハート We got to know more about Nik.
ハート Nik is a very sweet rocker
ハート Mia is so cute!

NG What I dislike:
Emmie is such a biggest bitch here!
I loved her in the other books, but in here she's so damn annoying I want to punch her hard on the face!
description

Well, it's because of her pregnancy and postpartum hormones, but still. She's so damn annoying!! 怒る

Nik proposed her after they found out she's pregnant. And she said yes. But said she wants to marry him after the baby born.
But then after the baby born and Nik asks her again about the marriage, she suddenly said she doesn't want marriage because she scares that she will lost him if she married him. WHAT THE FUCK?
description

It seems the story went too fast and kinda vague, just like the author is telling this story in hurry.

too much another "cameos" come up to this book and I think it's unnecessary. It's just makes the story becomes so boring!
description

I had a high expectation for this book. Because book 1 is so short, I was expecting a good story that is longer than book 1 so we all know about Nik and Emmie story more detail. But I still can't find it in this book either. I'm so dissatisfied.
description

Even the epilogue is just so

So people, if you were so excited and been waiting long to read this book, I WARN YOU

I first The Rocker That Holds Me, the first book in this series, and really enjoyed it. Like others, I thought it was a bit too short to be completely satisfying as a book, but what can you do? And then I read this one.

This is the same book as The Rocker That Holds Me, from Nik's point of view instead of Emmie's, with a lot of added detail. A LOT. Too much in fact. Towards the end of the book, when it progresses further than the first one, you think, "Cool, we get to read more about what happened after they got over their problems and got together." But no. You get to read too much.

The author added a whole lot of unnecessary shit to their relationship, making it way harder for them to finally be happy than it needed to be. It was unnecessary for her to SPOILERS

get post natal depression and then when she's recovered decide she didn't want to marry him, because she was afraid he's leave her if they got married. WHAT KIND OF REASONING IS THAT!?

And having them get married ages after they got engaged, allowing for all his other band mates to meet their own women and get married, and then throwing all those unnecessary characters into the end of this book with shittily tied in, "and that's how blah blah came into our lives" in case you haven't read the other books in the series and don't know who they are. Which, by the way, I haven't, as I was in too much of a hurry to read more of Nik and Emmie's story.

So: good book to a point. And after that point, just put it down and walk away, with the knowledge that they eventually get their shit together and get married.

I have REALLY enjoyed reading this series. Each book adds upon the one before it, and adds a new perspective to events you may or may not have already read.

Reading Nik's point of view was fantastic, and it made me fall even more in love with him and Emmie. Reading their love story (and everyone else's!) has really made this entire series for me. The emotion that these characters have, as well the personal traits that define them all set this book apart. Getting to see more about Nik's past was a treat, and it shed light on many events in this and the other books. The incorporation of music into these books adds a nice touch, and will make you wish you knew this rock band in real life. This is definitely a fantastic book that you'll want to devour asap. (But you have to read the other's first.)

It could get 5 stars, if only it didn't repeat the story.

This book is practically the 1st book of Rocker series, Nik and Emmie's story, but the point of view is different. When the 1st book was mostly Emmie's, this time is told in Nik's point of view.

I always adore Emmie and Nik. Especially when Emmie's past is being told and how Nik was desperate to save little Emmie. That's why I enjoyed this book. But again, they are basically the same only with some addition. I crave for more.

But overall, good book. Can't wait to read Babies! :)

Totally love Nik's POV. You won't be disappointed.

Sometimes when you need to know what happens to the main story you always will end up having a males POV, and I'm glad the author decided to add this.

I love the interaction, the characters and mainly Emmie. They both suited one another. Awesome read.

O - M - G I love this series and this book was no exception. This is my favorite series and I LOVE NIK. I love Jesse but I think Nik & Emmie are my favorite. To watch him struggle the entire book was just so sad. I loved how this book starts from the very beginning and it goes through some major key points in their lives. You really get to see how much he cares for her. I loved getting to be in his head. There are quite a few scenes that duplicate Emmie's book but I love, love, love all the new scenes we got. We got to see more of their time in Florida as well as well as what is was like for the guys to leave Emmie in the first place. I can't stop smiling as I'm thinking about this book. I loved watching their lives play out even more than we already had from Emmie's book. I can't gush enough about this book. If you love this series then you can't help loving this book. It just makes it all complete in such a wonderful way. I love my Demon's Wings. I can't wait for the Rocker Babies and where this group will go next. I really can't wait for Axton and Dallas it sounds like it is going to be a gut wrenching read. But I can't thank you enough for giving us Nik's book this was the best read and I smiled the entire time. This author is amazing & I can't wait for what we get next.

Bonus Emmie
We were really starting to settle in at the house in Malibu. I was loving living by the ocean. Loving that I could go outside, sit by my pool and cuddle up with Nik on a lounger as we just listened to the surf crash against the beach. This was my own slice of paradise and I was happy.
Smiling I buried my face in Nik’s chest, breathing in his scent. Between my legs I grew damp and contemplated tempting my man into taking me back to bed. We hadn’t been having sex as much as we normally did. I was to uncomfortable most of the time with the way the baby was already sitting so low. Her head was down and my hips had opened up a little since my last appointment with my OBGYN. I sometimes had crazy ass thoughts that because Nik wasn’t getting his normal dose of sex at least three times a day that he would start looking elsewhere. Stupid pregnancy hormones making me insane!
I squirmed against Nik and whether he knew he was doing it or not, his hand started stroking up and down my spine, making me even wetter and goose bumps pop up from the sheer pleasure of skin to skin contact with my man. He brushed his lips over my forehead, but didn’t say a word as he kept texting one handedly.
“Who are you talking to?” I asked, half curious and half just because I simply wanted to hear his voice.
“Ax,” he murmured, brushing another kiss over my forehead.
“Oh.” I smiled at the thought of our friend. I spoke with Axton daily, but I hadn’t seen him in a while. I suspected that my ever growing pregnant belly freaked him out.
“We don’t have plans for tonight do we, baby?” Nik asked as he continued to text away. Seriously, when Nik and Axton started texting it was worse than two girls with their first phones and unlimited texting. How was it that they could text a hundred text in less than ten minutes, but when in the same room they barely exchanged a handful of words in that time? How amused would the fans of Demon’s Wings and OtherWorld be if they could see them like this?
“Nope. Jesse is taking Layla out on their first date and Drake isn’t back yet from taking Lana and Lucy shopping…” His fingers stopped typing into his iPhone at the word shopping and blue eyes turned to me, half startled half amused.
“Shopping?” His lips twitched like he was having a hard time of holding in a laugh, but I knew that he would never laugh at Drake. Recently, with the new additions to our group and especially Lana, Drake had become different. He smiled. Fuck, he laughed. I loved it and at the same time I was freaked the fuck out. Maybe no one else saw it yet, but I did. Lana could destroy Drake without even trying.
“I have no idea where they went. I woke up with a note from him saying he had taking them shopping.” I shrugged. “Why? Want to grab some dinner later?” I could so go for some bacon wrapped shrimp. Wait, could I have shrimp? I hadn’t had it since I had found out I was pregnant. I would have to check my list of foods that I couldn’t have while pregnant.
“I invited Axton and Gabriella over for dinner.” Nik says, turning his attention back to his cellphone. “I thought we could grill some steaks and I’ll make you some of that baked macaroni with bacon to go with it.”
My brain completely shut off on the word Gabriella leaving his lips.
In what universe was it okay for him to invite that bitch into our home? None, that’s what fucking universe. NONE!
It didn’t matter that I knew the truth now. It didn’t FUCKING matter, dammit! That stupid ass cunt had shattered me with her lies, telling me that she had slept with Nik. Until Nik had asked Axton to set the record straight a few months ago her lies had still been screwing with my mind. My heart. And now he was inviting her here?
I moved until I was straddling his hips. Taking the phone from him I tossed it on the little glass table beside of our lounger. His body instantly responded to mine and I felt his dick thicken. If I hadn’t been so pissed off right then I would have definitely been begging him to take me back to bed.
I grabbed the ends of his T-shirt and started tugging. Nik laughed. “So you decided you aren’t shy about making love out here after all?”
My eyes narrowed down at him. The only thing I was ‘shy’ about when it came to making love out here on the pool deck was Lucy seeing us. Six year olds should not ever see something like that. But Lucy was gone for the afternoon with Drake and her sister. “So… Axton and Gabriella are coming over?” I asked calmly, maybe even a little sweetly.
“Ax said he missed you so I told him to come on over this evening.” His blue eyes darken for a moment and I see just a flash of the jealousy that has been lurking there for a while now without my even realizing it. “See, I can function with knowing that my friend is in love with my girl.”
I rolled my eyes at that. “He isn’t in love with me.” Axton might feel something deeper than sibling love for me, which was all that I felt for him, but it wasn’t the all-consuming love that a man feels for a woman he can’t live without. I loved him, dearly, almost as much as I loved Jesse, Drake, and Shane. I don’t think anyone had ever really loved Axton the way I did, unconditionally. That probably confused the hell out of him.
“Whatever.” Nik raised his arms as I continued to tug his shirt off. “I thought it would make you happy to see him and so I invited him and Brie… Gabriella over.”
Some of my anger had started to fade until that fucking name left his sexy mouth again. Not Gabriella, but Brie. Brie was what Axton called that little Italian Ho-bag, something that had been started by Liam while we were all on tour in Europe and Australia two years ago. Now Axton, for some freaking reason that I couldn’t really comprehend, had that stupid ass name inked into his wrist.
The shirt was at his elbows now and leaned into Nik’s chest, pulling his arms behind him as I bent my head closer to his. “I do want to see Axton. Thank you for inviting our friend over. That was very thoughtful of you…” I smiled, my tone still sweet and really he should have realized by now how dangerous that was. “And thank you so much for inviting that little slut.” My fingers were already using his shirt as a rope, tying it into the knots that Jesse had taught me when I was just a little girl.
I stand with a little difficulty and stare down at my handy work. Most of the anger evaporates as I look down at him and I can’t help but grin at the sight before me. “I really want Axton here, but not her.”
“Untie me, Em.” He commands, struggling with the knot that I know he will never be able to undo by himself.
“In a little while. When you’ve learned your lesson.” I grab his phone and the cordless that I brought out earlier and start dialing Layla’s number, wondering if she would like to spend the afternoon with me since I suddenly have nothing else to do. “See you later.”

Nik
How did I get in this mess?
I couldn’t help but wonder that question over and over as I struggled to get my hands untied from my own damned shirt. Instead of making even a little headway with the stupid knot that Emmie had tied me up with, I only succeeded in making the damned thing tighter. After a few more minutes I give up and let my arms relax, trying to keep some of the blood flowing while wait for help.
Muttering a curse I think back over our brief conversation. I had thought, that as I had put the whole ‘Axton kissed Emmie’ thing behind us, Emmie had done the same with ‘Gabriella and the affair that had never happened’. Boy was I ever fucking wrong!
But even as I try to make since of it, I can’t help but feel a little angry myself. Did she still not trust me? Was that why she was acting like I had just invited the devil to dinner instead of a little Italian rocker girl?
I sat there for what felt like hours, but was really less than one. When I heard Jesse’s deep laugh and then Emmie’s softer voice I knew that my punishment was finally over. They seemed to be taking their time as they came outside and I glared at Emmie. “I’m going to spank her.” I threaten, speaking to Jesse. “I should have done it years ago. You just wait. As soon as I’m free, she is going to get my hand print on her sweet ass.” It was an empty threat of course. I would never touch Emmie like that, even as pissed as I was right now.
Jesse raised a brow and instead of continuing toward me changed direction and sat down across from me. “Well, now I was going to help you out man. But you threatening my Emmie just got you a few more minutes.”
I grunted. Rule number one about Jesse. Never, never, never threaten Em. It would only get you lying flat on your back with an ache that made you wish he had killed you when he hit you. I had definitely used the wrong approach when seeking his help. Emmie stuck her delicious pink tongue out at me as she carefully sat down beside of the amused bald rocker and cuddled against him. “Better treat me better, mister.”
“Ah, fuck!” I twist on the lounger, trying once more to get free. “Come on Em. I’m sorry. I should never have invited Ax with Brie…” Big green eyes narrow on me and I swallow a groan at my own stupidity. “…Gabriella.” I quickly amend. “Baby, please. I’ll fix it, I swear…” She just sat there looking all amused and stubborn. “If you love me, you will untie me Emmie!” I reason.
“You know I love you, Nikolas Armstrong,” she assures me. “Too bad you haven’t shown me you love me today.”
Her words are like whip across my chest, tearing my heart open. I can see in her eyes that she is already regretting her the words, but it’s too late. I’m hurting and if I was pissed before it’s nothing to what I’m feeling now.
Putting my legs on either side of the lounger I stand, taking the heavy lounger with me until I slip my hands free. My hands are still tied behind my back, but I reach Jesse and turn without a word. He unties me, knowing that Em has stepped on that one line I can’t handle to be crossed. As soon as my hands are free I lift her from Jesse’s protective arms and carry her toward the house. “I think we need have a long talk, Ember.”
“Nik… I was just kidding… I didn’t mean it…” She clutches my shoulders. “Nik!”
“Shut up, Em.” I can’t help snapping at her. I’m so mad, so hurt that I’m close to breaking.
In the living room I place her carefully on the sectional and stand back. Everything I’m feeling must be flashing in my eyes and I’m sure that it’s not pretty. Frustrated I raked my hands through my hair. “Do I not show you how much I love you every day, Em?”
She sighed, looking contrite. “Of course you do. I’m sorry, it was just a joke…”
“Well don’t fucking joke around about that! I love you, baby. You are my everything! If you don’t believe me, then tell me now so I can fix it.” Torn in half by how helpless this woman could make me I dropped to my knees in front of her. “Tell me, Em.”
Tears filled those big green eyes that always unhinge me. “I know that you love me. It took me a little while, but I really believe you. I’m sorry I said that, Nik.” A small sob escaped her. “I was a bitch and I’m so sorry. I get a little evil like that when I think of you and Gabriella in the same room.”
I stroked a thumb over the trail her tears where making. “I told you nothing happened. She lied to you. Gabriella is nothing to me. Nothing! It was always you and she used that to hurt you.” I pulled her close and kissed her as tenderly as I could with all the emotions still rolling inside of me. “Please believe me baby,” I wasn’t above begging. I needed her to believe me.
“I… I believe you.” She wrapped her arms around me and clutched me tightly. “I do believe you. I’m sorry. So fucking sorry.”
I blow out a breath full of nothing but relief. “I love you, Em. Nothing and no one but you.”

Where do I start. I loved the book. My heart was OVER JOYED with every detail of Nik's love for Emmie. The first book created an illusion in my head that Nik wasn't really the 'I-love-you-to-the-ends-of-the-earth', 'My-love-for-you-is-so-strong-that-it-scares-the-hell-out-of-me' kinda guy. Sure as hell that was what the author tried to make us believe but I didn't buy it. THEN. This book clearly erased what ever doubt I have.
But as much as I loved this book, there are things that made me cringed and pissed me to hell off!!
......such things are.....
1. Nik trying to get Emmie jealous by rubbing himself up on two 'skanks' as Emmie calls them
Why do I hate this? Because it's stupid. You made love 2 nights before. Confessed your love in every which way possible. What do still want to prove? Emmie was totally jealous the day at the mall. You recognized it but still made a d*** move by causing her pain.
Okay let's say you were ignorant of the consequences to your stupid move. Why let it dig deeper while you just sat in the living room watching T.V instead of banging down the door shouting your apologies. I was smiling from ear to ear when Emmie slapped the grin of his stupid face.
2. Layla
I love layla. Don't get me twisted. She's Emmie's best friend and a major help. But I don't know.......... Emmie's comfortable with her getting cozy with one of the Demon Wing's brothers and later marrying him. I feel a bit jealous that Emmie's no longer on the front burner and center of attention. I know that eventually everybody has to settle down and start a family, but it's happening all to fast! Not only that but everybody is affected. Jesse to Layla. Drake to Lana. I bet if Lucy was 10 years older Shane might have been paired with her due to some convenient factor. But instead it's Shane to Lana's former roommate not future sister-in-law Harper. BUT WAIT! It doesn't stop there. We also have Axton to Dallas. I think it's all wrong. I'm probably ignorant but IDC. I HATE IT! Oh and one more thing. Nik catching his breath at the sigh of Layla in the kitchen right before she told him that she would be marrying Jessie the next day throw me off my axis! WTH? I was so stunned I forgot the lines that went after that line.
3. Emmie being under stress and not getting to bond with her baby as mother's do after birth
I was so pissed to hear that it was either Layla or Nik who had the baby instead of Emmie. I almost cried knowing she was under so much stress, so much that her baby fussed in her arms every time she held her. Again, I felt jealous of Nik's closer bond to his daughter. I know, stupid right?
4. Th abrupt ending to the book's ending while it was describing Emmie and Nik's wedding
I mean though it wasn't rushed through as it was for the other two weddings, I really didn't care. I was more concerned of the completed fairytale, happy ending of the two persons I fell in love when I started the 'Rocker's' series. Instead I was left with an incomplete wedding and questions on who shared tears while exchanging vows. What did happen between Jessie and Rich? What was the honeymoon like? Did they have one? This s*** pisses me off!!

sooooo..........
All in all I enjoyed this book. I enjoyed watching Emmie grow, watching how Nik's love deepened and became a whole new experience for Emmie over the years. I enjoyed reading the other stories through his POV.

WILL I REAd THIS BOOK AGAIN????????????

A Proteção do Roqueiro, o quinto livro da Série The Rocker e é aquele livro necessário, porém desnecessário.

As shown on Books and Boys Book Blog.

‘The Rocker That Holds Her’ is book 5 in ‘The Rocker’ series by Terri Anne Browning. In book one we get to read the story of Nik and Ember but it was all written from Ember’s point of view and this is where we get to find out what was going through Nik’s head with the story told through his eyes. I give 4 stars for this book in the series.

When reading the first book in this series about Nik and Ember I was curious at the time as to what Nik’s point of view would be in particular right at the very beginning when he finds her after a beating. I was intrigued to know why he protected her and when his feelings changed.

This book gave me the answers I wanted and more. It must be said however that some people might not like the fact that you are rereading some of the same scenes but just from a different point of view so you already knew what was going to happen but personally I didn’t mind as I wanted to know the other side and had since the first time I read the scenes.

Another well written book by Terri Anne Browning and a great addition to the series that is worth reading if like me you loved ‘The Rocker’ series and all the guys.
