I loved Pamela's previous books , but I don't know , this one didn't meet the mark . Shock value and lots of hurt has always been the key factor in the Torn series . The entire book was literally based on both the leads' insecurities , jealousies and inability to face a situation .The book seemed as if the author just wrote a string of bad experiences for angst .

I really get the fact that Emma[the heroine] was jealous of Nikki[jealous ex] and was frustrated with her , she had enough reason to be . But why would she leave Bass[the hero] when she knew and had confirmed from Nikki herself that the sex videos were Nikki's doing ?? I don't blame her , it is valid reason for breaking up. But she broke up solely due to it , and given the things they had already gone through , the reason felt weak .

And Bass was no good either . Yeah , he did stand up to Nikki ...once , but the rest of the time he did as she asked as if he were some sort of slave

Bass , instead of apologizing more or making Emma listen to him and workout the situation , just simply accepted the fact that she was done with him after just a paragraph of grovelling . Really ?? That's it ?? wasn't she his one true love and all ??

That was inexcusable and stupid and I really thought Emma was grown up and past such nonsense . Add to that the way she kept going back and forth between Carter[Emma's ex] and Bass. And she says she loves Bass.....

And Emma's hypocrisy , frankly , annoyed me . I mean she allows Carter to kiss her neck , cheeks etc all the time but Bass takes a call from Nikki and she suddenly sees red ?

The part where Bass was rumored to have died ...yeah I knew it and probably every other reader too did that Bass was very much alive. It was just unnecessary [but of course we do have to add every possible twist that exists , don't we?]

Oh did I mention that one day she was engaged to Carter and the next she was married to Bass, that too without even having the decency to tell Carter that the wedding is off ?? Yeah , she was that insensitive to Carter's feelings

And after marrying Emma for the sake of the baby {yup , you heard right } where was Bass's so called love when he was hanging out all the time with Kim[his co star in the new film] or whatever her name was . I mean yeah he was broken and hurt because Emma had slept with Carter , but he could have spent time with other people too right ?? And did he not have male friends ??

The ending did not at all make me feel like it was HEA . It was rushed and Bass didn't even ask Emma or talk to her about the fact that he thought that she loved Carter more than him . I liked Bass's character in the previous books . In this book ...

And Emma , well....

I hated Carter for what he did in the first book , I do not condone cheating in any way , but he has redeemed himself to an extent and I agree with him when he said
"I didn’t think I deserved this kind of punishment even after the orgy I participated in when I cheated on
her. What she did to me was far greater—far more painful—than the one I caused her."
I felt bad for him .

"...I'd still love you and think you're the most beautiful creature I've ever beheld."
Without disconnecting our gazes, she dropped onto her knees, biting her bottom lip as she eyed me with perfervidlust while her hands were busy unbuckling my pants...(So maybe my vocabulary does not have her depth. But I swear I know no one person in real life who ever used that word. Maybe in historical fiction but not in real life...)
My lascivious thoughts got axed when I glanced at her.
...with my rabid c*ck poised to charge forth; ready to be sheathed and bathed with her sweet, honeyed ambrosia."
