Rate this book
A chance discovery by Special Forces of a hidden entrance in the Zagros Mountains of northern Iraq persuades Professor Clive Ashbourne, an eminent historian at the British Museum, and his young assistant, Margaret Gray, to leave London and embark on a dangerous mission. Set against the background of increasing political tension, they discover an ancient Akkadian settlement dating back over 4000 years to the dawn of civilisation. As they delve deeper into the mountain complex, evidence from the past begins to paint a picture of a powerful Empire so advanced that the questions raised will shake not only the foundations of modern society, but also provide answers to the two most important questions posed by mankind. In a race against time, they must fight to survive in order to prevent an international conflict and reveal to the world their incredible discovery.Part adventure, part detective story, the 'Akkadian Dynasty' is a fascinating blend of historical fact and fiction.

Immersive, historically detailed.

A detailed historical account of the Sumerian and Akkadian civilisations embedded with in a thoroughly immersive narrative. Part Indiana Jones, part Dan Brown, the story is simple but an easy read that will both entertain and educate.
