As of 2007, Azzarello is married to fellow comic-book writer and illustrator Jill Thompson.
3.5/5 i just finished this comic for the second time and there is nothing wrong with the writing i wonder wth was wrong with me the first time i read it :3
This is one of those "reset" events that D.C. likes to do. Flashpoint seems to take the world we know and change certain things about it, creating a similar but different world.
In this one- Thomas Wayne is Batman and Bruce is the one who died. Thomas Wayne is a Casino owner and Jim Gordon works for/with him since Gotham has a private police for now. But, Mr. Waynes financial empire is on the brink since the Mayor, Harvey Dent, has had his son kidnapped by the Joker. Dent blames Thomas for the idea of the private police force and Gordon for supporting Joker being sent away to Arkham from where he always escapes.
That's the background so far- in this issue Batman goes looking for missing people near the sewers and runs into Killer Croc. Not bad so far-I am willing to see where this is going and will grab issue #2.
This was published way back in 2011. It's be reprinted in preparation for the Flashpoint Beyond story.
I'd heard the key story points, namely that the death of Bruce Wayne lead to a female Joker for example...
I knew some of the twists in this book but had never read it and long forgot what the story entailed.
The art is very dark and Miller esq, very suiting for this story.
The entire story is dark and Thomas Wayne is a deeply disturbed and violent Batman. Honestly some how he manages to be more compelling as Batman then Bruce does.
The entire story is concise, to the point and has no fat on it, it's masterful.
If your as excited as me to read the up and coming Flashpoint Beyond story and you haven't yet read Flashpoint Batman Knight of Vengeance #1 then don't waste another second. Rush out and get a copy now!
Flashpoint #1'de Flashpoint evrenindeki Batman'in Bruce Wayne'in babası Thomas Wayne olduğu gösterilmişti.
I love this story. It keeps you on the edge of your seat. Nice to see Croc make an appearance, though short, still nice. I really like these illustrations for this type of Batman story. Brian Azzarello is one of my favorite writers. Can't wait to continue the story.
So this is the total toss up in the air rebirth of a DC Universe in mishmash bit Sized stories I’m usually quite a fan of Azzarello push this is pretty poor
however if I’m going to give this a go at some stage I should start from the very beginning
This was when multiverse ideas were cool and this story is dark gruesome and very interesting. Thomas Wayne makes an even better barman than Bruce Wayne! Darker and rougher
This was a well told elseworlds tale. What a twist to the status quo of Batman. And it makes sense for what happens in this world. For only 3 issues, it was intense and fast paced and dark. Great read.
