The Tension of Redemption

Rate this book
All of us have our share of ups and downs, moments to celebrate and a few to grieve, but Joe Anderson's life has been a wild ride on a roller coaster! In his memoir, he takes us on the journey with him and his wife Jen as they try to navigate setback after struggle after heartache. Through it all, they found Jesus more present and loving than they ever imagined. He seldom let them know what was coming, but He gave them strength and grace to walk through every valley. Let Joe's story remind you of God's faithfulness in your life...especially when you don't see it, can't sense it, and can hardly believe it.

If it were possible, I would give this book ten stars. As Pastor Rob Ketterling said in the foreword, when you read Joe's stories, you will wonder if all of the events could possibly have happened to one family. Since I've known Joe and his wife, Jen over 20 years, I knew most of these stories and the miracles that have happened, but I was unaware of many details. I can assure you though it's all true. This book demonstrates hope, forgiveness, faith, and (obviously) redemption. A word of warning: you'll lose less sleep if you set aside a few hours and read it all at once because you won't want to put it down.

The amount of suffering and trials this family has gone through is astounding. Unbelievably, though, they were able to keep God at the forefront of their hearts and minds. Together, Joe and his wife Jen, worked through their suffering to build resiliency, character and hope …just like Romans 5:3-5 tells us! Highly recommend!

Riveting. This book is hard to put down. It reads like a novel but all the events actually happened. My dad read this book in 3 sessions and I don’t remember him ever reading an entire book! I highly recommend this book.

Joe has seen everything, but through it all he had faith in The Lord. Unbelievable stories and some crazy spiritual warfare. I have a whole new perspective on the demonic after reading this book. Great read for every believer.

I’ve heard Joe’s story many times but not in the in-depth that he shows in this amazing memoir. His story is incredible and I think everyone would be moved by it!
