During Unrequited, the second book in the series, Talia Jacobs finds that men love her but she does not love them in return so their love is Unrequited. She keeps dreaming of a man with no face that she is strongly attracted to and is given signs to lead her to find him. In the mean time she takes some of her wealth and starts a non-profit to make a difference in the world by promoting clean water for people in underdeveloped countries, which is very successful. She keeps her strong family connections in both Australia and Hungary and returns to the United States in search of her mystery dream man. The ability to read and relate to people gives Talia a depth of character that is unusual in novels and adds interest because you never know what she will come up with next to help someone in her life. After reading the first two books in the series, I look forward to the third book and recommend the series to others!

all I can say is wow! This author did it again. This book is amazing just like the first one. I am so excited to read the next one I can't wait. Talia Jacobs is a character that I want to be so badly. Her strong character that knows exactly what she needs. And the question of who will be the lover forever. This author has kept me on the edge of my chair throughout the entire two books so far. I think everybody that reads erotica should read this book definitely number 1 pick.! I will be starting the third book today. Happy reading!

My Book Reviews:

…You are not meant to see him coming and will not e able to resist him when he arrives.

I finished reading the first book and quickly decided to start reading this one. I’m very glad the author of this book reached out to me for an honest review, otherwise I probably wouldn’t of discovered this new romantic trilogy. Now that I’ve finished the second book I have so many feelings that I can’t even properly describe them. These books are so well written - full of emotion, imagery, etc. I’m hooked!

I’m guessing 7 years have passed from where the first book ended. There are new characters, new love interests and many new journeys for Talia that await her in this book. She is very excited for the unknown and she’s a very driven character. She’s different from any other female lead I’ve read about. She’s a very strong and independent woman, she doesn’t let the pain from her pass way her down, if anything she’s very accepting of her fate. She knows that things happen for a reason, she’s not a judgmental character. Even when bad things continue to happen, she’s accepting. It does sadden me a bit that you have this strong and beautiful character, yet I feel she is still lost and empty inside. She does travel and meet new people and create new projects to distract herself. Yet, it’s just a distraction from what she really wants - her true love. Her soul mate that will one day bring her happiness.

I believe the first book was mainly about Talia and the struggles of her love life. In this book, I feel it’s more about Talia growing up and building her character. She is establishing herself much more than we read about in the previous book. She’s the type of person that always needs to be doing something, she can’t seem to stay home for long periods of time. With a new chapter comes a new adventure. You read about her journeys and all the new people that she will meet along the way. You start to see that she is a very special character and the people around her know it, too. She has the ability to have strangers open up to her. On this journey you will see Talia slowly losing faith as she begins to look for “the one”; however, Talia is such a strong character she knows she can’t give up without a fight.

The difference I noticed with this book is that it has much more ‘voodoo’ magic within’ it. It plays quite a significant role in Talia’s life. In some instances it even saves her from death. I’ve honestly never read anything that involved voodoo, but the author really links it perfectly to the story. It’s not meant to be portrayed as something evil, but as something beautiful. I am truly obsessed with Talia’s character and I love the way it ended. HUGE CLIFFHANGER. I’m already in it for the long run, so I will definitely be reading the next book to what new journeys are in store for Talia. I highly recommend you all to give this new romantic trilogy a chance. :)

Side note: I am absolutely in LOVE with the book covers!! <3

* I received a copy of this book in a Goodreads giveaway in exchange for an honest review.*

I have to begin by saying that when I entered for a copy of this book I had no idea that it was a sequel as it was mentioned nowhere in the giveaway blurb. Had I known, I would not have requested a copy because I had not read the first book. I decided to read it regardless figuring that there would be enough details to follow along. BIG, BIG mistake as there were no clues or references that I could tell as to the story leading up to this book. Perhaps if I read the first book it would impact my rating on this book but I highly doubt it. After reading Unrequited I have no desire to go back and read the first book or any book that may follow it. I feel bad saying this but it was a hot mess.

I found that I really disliked Talia and considered not finishing the book after each chapter that my opinion remained the same. I think the intend was for her to be a person of good and kindness but she came across as condescending, selfish, a know it all, and above everyone else. Although she did some good things they all seemed to be guided by selfish, self-serving motives. She had no respect for different cultures, proffessionals and the people closet to her yet people seemed to fall over themselves in love with her and she knew it. Why? I question I cannot answer.

The book was all over the map and I don't just mean as in geography. Numerous different subjects were introduced and I failed to see how it connected one story. Throughout each chapter and plot change I hoped to connect in some way with Talia and for the story to redeem itself but it just didn't happen. There were two things that Talia did that I just couldn't get past although there were many others that were just plain annoying. The first was jumping into bed with a complete stranger in India after saying only two sentences. The first sentence was an introduction and the second was a comment on how well he spoke english. That was it before she was agreeing to go home with him. Hello...stanger/unprotected sex...this is how diseases can happen regardless of what country you are in. Not something to be promoting! The second thing that I couldn't get past was her stupid excersise about what animal best describes you that she did at her conference with influencial business people. It was so condescending and anyone above a grade two level would never fall for that trick. It was just so jouvenile and did nothing to the story but make it appear that she thought herself better and smarter than everyone in the room.

I feel terrible that I disliked the book so much and I recognize all of the hard work that the author must have went through to write it but it just was not for me.

Review for Unrequited by Truth Devour
!!!!Spoiler Alert!!!
(Once again I tried not to give too much away and feel that even if I did, it still wouldn’t compare to the experience of reading it all yourself.)
I was very happy to be able to read the second installment of this series. I likewise was not disappointed. In reading these books I have begun to see that the author Devour had a very unique way of looking at this thing we call life. From what motivated people to behavioral patterns and emotional states Devour has it nailed. In this second installment, through Devour’s story of Talia, you just might find that you’ve learned to see a thing or two in a new light.
This book begins with Talia seeking advice from a fortune teller. Talia seems to have transitioned more into someone that is in touch with herself in a mystical way. Other than brief moments in the last book where she had dreams or was directly influenced by voodoo, her connection to the mystical world wasn’t as apparent as it now seems to be. Talia’s overall personality hasn’t changed nor has her desire to find what she seeks in life.
She is distracted for a while by a relationship in which she felt she could help another, but after disappointment decides not to settle for anything other than finding her truest.
During her wait she begins to form deeper bonds with family and make new friends. She begins to expand her positive influence on more than touching one person at a time and creates a way of helping a community. As in her personal life, she is able to draw people in and becomes a success with her projects.
Talia’s perceptive and mystical abilities continue to be on display. She uses them to help others around her, but fails to see how they are helping her in the long run. Watching and even is some cases aiding in people surrounding her falling in love, she begins to lose faith in ever finding it for herself. After a series of events, however, this changes as Talia begins to follow the lead of her dreams leading her towards something she’s been looking for.
I once again enjoyed the ride Devour’s story telling took me on. And look forward to reading the next installment of this series! I feel as if there’s still so much more to be experienced while taking this journey through the life of Talia.

This book was a 10 out of 10 stars in my book! That being said, I was just a tiny bit confused in the beginning of book two until I quickly read and realized the story was taking place five years after the story in book one ended. I absolutely Talia's ability to read people and see things taken for granted by others had developed even more and how she's grown while keeping true to herself. I further love that she is still on her journey to self discovery and shows that love is not often found until later in life. I also love Talia's cheekiness and the variety of lingo used throughout the book It was extremely refreshing. Having many dear friends from Australia i was able to keep up with all of the Australian terms the author used. This book was not just an amazing read that I couldn't wait to get my hands on and read in one sitting, it was an epiphany of sorts for my own life as well and really touched me deeper than any other book ever has. The author's amazing and unique way of writing Talia's story makes you want to take a deeper look into yourself and your own self-discovery. I sincerely thank the author for giving me new insight to use to look at myself with and in how I see myself, so deeply was I able to relate to and journey with Talia. The scene descriptions, characterizations, plot development and storyline were once again quite amazing. The author has completely out done herself with this second book in the series. I not only saw everything in the story,I lived the story right along with Talia and the ability for an author to help a reader to be able to do that is a magnificent gift. On a final note, I can't say that I have ever laughed and cried so much during one book and loved every moment of it and then at the end of the book, I wanted to rip my hair out and scream NO! Don't end it there! I was left wanting so much more and pray there is another book to this series as I can't wait to see what Talia gets up to next.

I highly recommend this book to everyone who loves a fabulous story that you can really sink into that has the ability to really suck you right in and hold you there until the very end. It will make you want to read it all in one sitting and won't be able to put it down!

This is book 2 of the trilogy and a page turner for me a vey interesting look at Talia jacobs life and shows us how one person can make a difference in so many lifes there is something special about Talia that draws men women and children to her no matter where she goes this time she starts out about 5 yrs. after the first book ended and she is with a man who was not her true love once again but someone she gave her self to and help him through some hard times in his life and he was weak and was not smart enough to realize that Talia is special and could read people in away he would never understand and he cheated on her and thought it was ok to lie to her about it. She realizes pretty much that she is not interested in being with just any man but one meant for her alone. She has to move on from that and go on with her life, Talia then went to america and started a charity that was world wide and all she wanted to do was help those less fortunate as well in making sure that everybody that needed water had a chance to have fresh clean water. She continued to traveled back and forth between the continents for a while during this time she looses her nanny and met her family and they became her family and she then lost her grandpa and she still was strong and moved on with her life always putting her work first and she still went back home to Australia to visit her family and bought the horse school to live on and some horses and still she hasn't found the man of her dreams just yet so she is not ready to settle down, but at the charity masked ball that she gave during the time she was establishing the Solution Manisfestation the charity that was created and she danced with a man who did intrigue her but it was not the time and she let the incident pass at the time because something else was more important at the time which was Marlee. But now she has met him again and found that he is the little boy from Haiti that she met and went to school with when she was small and he and his parents left to go back to their home. Marlee the nanny made sure they would one day find each other again. You will really have to read this story to get the full jist of the book but it is very, very good.

I received a free copy of this book from Goodreads First Reads.

I would like to start off by saying that I did not read the first book of the series, so I jumped right into this one without any knowledge of the character or plot.

The main character, Talia, inherited a lot of money when she turned 21 from her parents who died when she was eight. She is spending the money on traveling for a spiritual journey of sorts as well as starting her own non-profit business to help third-world countries obtain sources of fresh clean water to their inhabitants.

The beginning of the book starts off with a break-up of her 5-year boyfriend, Sebastian after receiving a fortune telling that he has been cheating on her as well as that she has yet to meet the love of her life. She then visits her hometown of some sort (she originally grew up in Haiti, but has some sort of maybe adopted family in Australia) and purchases a stable that was on sale. She then leaves for India to learn more about the culture there. She learns the method of Indian burning of the dead, and has a connection with a dying woman, who she tells it is her time to go, ending the woman's suffering of leprosy. She watches over the burning/burial of the woman, assuring the head explodes so the soul can be free. Other spiritual sorts of connections and events happen to Talia along the way. She also is on the lookout for the potential meeting of her soul mate, as she was told they met before from her reading.

It was just a different sort of book for me. It isn't something I would normally read, and I don't know how to classify it in general. It isn't really a romance and is more about a spiritual journey and self-discovery. I kind of wish I had a little bit more background, but that would come from the first book. You can read this one without reading the first though, as it isn't too hard to understand. I'm not jumping up and down to continue the series nor read the first, but maybe if I cam across it in a library and had time.

This book is a sequel of Wantin. As soon as I finished the first book, I immediately read the second book. I have so many questions that I want to ask Talia in the first book and I'm hoping to find the answers here.

The first chapter is about Talia, who is seeking answers thru a tarot card reader but we all know that she already knew the answers, she just wants to hear it from someone else.

She is in a 5-year relationship with Sebastian but she still feels like she haven't found the right guy for her yet.

"It's only ever in the absence of someone that you can really identify the smaller things which you might have taken for granted."

When Sebastian moved out she decided to visit her Aunt Ruth and Uncle Shane to unwind from everything that happened to her. She is welcomed by her nieces and nephews that brought instant joy and eases the loneliness that she's feeling.

There is something about the way she deals with her pain. She never shows it to anyone because she doesn't want her family to worry about her. But Brad always sees the real pain behind her fake smiles.

She brought a house close to her Aunt Ruth's which is a good thing because she finally decided to settle a place on her own. But being Talia, she continues to travel the world.

One flaw I think in this series is that Talia is created a little too perfect. She became hurt, sick, happy, lonely, but she can manage her emotions well. I am waiting for a scene where she will break down and hate the universe or something. But she is different so I guess I won't see her do something risky on her part.

I need to feel emotions, to connect with her. I am hoping I will have a connection with her on Sated. Which is I am so excited to read because of that one guy I knew that is meant for her. I think Sated is about their adventures together. And I am curious to know how can the guy sweep Talia off her feet.

Book #2

This is the sequel to the book Wantin by Truth Devour. I recommend reading Wantin first, since Unrequited won't make much sense otherwise. I immediately started reading book two, as soon as I put down book one. Wantin filled me with questions that I hoped would be answered by reading Unrequited. Wantin was about her troubles in her everyday life, as well as her love life, while this book is more about how she is becoming her own person and is building up her character while she searches for love.

Talia is a unique character due to her childhood and the occurrences that happen in the first book in the series. I won't spoil that book by giving too much information away, but she experiences pain that can only be understood by those who have gone through what she has.

Talia goes on a journey that most can never achieve in a life time. She is passionate about freedom and other values, and proves them while she goes through her adventures abroad. She's wealthy, and spreads her wealth with others.

After going through book one, you realize she's been on a road to self discovery for a while, and is just now coming to find herself. She uses the pain and joy she's experienced to help others, and proves her loyalty to her causes time and time again. She uses her knowledge to aid the people she comes into contact with. She may lose hope here and there, but in the end she's a strong woman worthy of the man she seeks out.

There is a theme with some voodoo magic, which is started in Wantin, and continues on through this book. Her nanny from her childhood has put a protection spell on her, and it changes the way she lives her life.

Just as the first book was, this book ended leaving me craving more, and I found myself excited to start the next book in the series. I recommend this book to anyone who's read Wantin by Truth Devour.

4.5 fangs

Talia is still running full force in life. She comes out of a relationship that seems to have been the longest one in her life. She really has no ill will towards how it ends and I feel bad for her. It seemed like she was finally finding love, but in just a few short pages it slipped through her fingers again. She decides that the world needs more from her than a lover does at this time. She begins traveling again to find something to spark her. She begins where her life changed, Haiti, and organizes a non-profit to change the life of the Haitians. As Talia has always kept her cards close to her, she brings on Blake, a self-made man in his own field of study, to be the front man. It works out well for a while. She travels between home, the U.S., and Haiti while the project is in its infant stages. She learns even more about herself through this journey even though she wasn't planning on any self discovery. While at home, she's growing closer to her nieces and nephews and begins feeling a tug at her heart as though she's missing out on something. Her dreams are starting to haunt her. Between a mystery man that she feels is right for her but isn't sure if he is real and the ghosts of all her past relationships where they gave too much and she couldn't give enough, she still isn't sure if love is ever attainable for her. She begins to want it, but is still against forcing it. Her path is to lay low and let love find her. Her family still tries to set her up, but it doesn't work out and they agree to let her find hers on her own.

Definitely a good read! Good follow up to Wantin. As most of the foundation was laid in Wantin, Unrequited was a page-turner from go. I can't wait for #3!!

Title: A Publisher’s Read!!!
“Unrequited” by Truth Devour

Reviewed by T’s Blogging

7:10 p.m.

Author Truth Devour does it again with Unrequited. Staying true to the main character, Talia, as well as the ease in which the author breezes through the story, Devour gives readers more than one could imagine. This novel will have you laughing, crying, and desiring to change the world all while experiencing some hot and naughty sexual escapades. Yes, I am saying it, “This book is indeed a Publisher’s Read.”

As our favorite character, Talia, matures in book II you cannot help but to grow with her. I found myself living vicariously through Talia as she experiences new expeditions, feeds her hunger to be a positive force, and starts her journey down a similar path her parents took. There were so many twist and turns and much needed revelations, but the end of the book…. Let me just say, “It would be a crime if I did not have book III close by.”

Truth is, the infectious feelings which magnetically pulls characters to Talia, somehow engulfs you too. I was heartbroken when her heart ached, I was frightened when death peeked its ugly head, and of course, I was sexually aroused with the visual love scenes. However, I have to admit sometimes the buildup to certain scenes seemed rushed. For example, one moment we are at a wedding and the next moment Talia is getting a massage from a stranger dressed in loincloth. Then again, this point does not take away from the story or my ability to get lost in such an amazing story.

This book is truly a page turner, genre redefining, and a MUST READ! Devour leaves a lasting impression on you mentally, spiritual, and sexually. I employ you to become lost in Talia’s world. To walk in the shoes of someone truly special.

I give “Unrequited” 5 out of 5 stars.

Happy Reading

Unrequited is book two following Wantin by Truth Devour. This is the case of the second book being better than the first.
Talia has been with Sebastian for five years and feels restless. She goes to Lucinda to have a reading and Lucinda reveals what Talia already knows. Sebastian has had an affair and he is not her “true love”. Her “True Love’ is looking for her. Talia breaks up with Sebastian. She leaves to go find herself in India. Here she finds what she is to do with her life and her money.
With Haiti in mind, Talia set up a conference to discuss “the accessibility and sustainability of nutrition with a primary focus of water being the essense of life”. She has invited leaders in the fields of science, astronomy, agriculture, horticulture, aquaponics, and many other fields. These three hundred participants were divided into ten groups who discussed the aspects of and tried to find solutions to the problem. Solution Manifestation was to find solutions and then these would be put into practice being funded by her foundation. They didn’t know that Haiti would be the first to benefit from their work which would then be tweaked to fit other situations. The conference ended in a costumed masquerade ball at which she met Billy. Sparks flew between then during a dance but she didn’t make contact with him again. Who is Billy and why does he seem to important to her?
She is called to Haiti to find Marlee, her nanny when she was a little girl. She feels there is little time for her to find Marlee so she hunts quickly. Why is Marlee so important now? What trouble will she get into while she looks for Marlee? Will she find her?
The book is very good and makes you really want to read book three.

I received this book from the Goodreads Giveaways.

I did not care for this book. I entered the giveaway not knowing it was a sequel, but I read it anyway. The tone of the narrator is dull and she seems to know everything. She feels sad, but knows not to cry. She feels rage, but knows not to show it. I'm assuming there's a psychic connection of some kind, but it isn't reiterated in this novel like most authors choose to do with sequels.

I find this book reads like Talia is some sort of ignorant social activist who thinks that she knows better about other people's cultures than the people in it. I find it unbelievable that she goes to India and constantly talks and demands things of the culture that she shouldn't have the right to. Her gala is silly, as well. She seems to have the right connections to get the best minds there to try to figure out solutions, and she's such a 'genius' that she can get them thinking in a way that this true geniuses apparently had not been able to think of.

The only time she seems to show true emotion is when she's getting laid, and even then it's lacking.

I just feel like the narrator had no true character. There was not even a hint of explanation of what happened in the previous book, which is silly for even the Harry Potter books have explanations. I tried and tried to find something that would redeem this book for me and couldn't find anything. Just truly not a book for me.

I was given Unrequited by Truth Devour in exchange for an honest review.
Oh my gosh, oh my gosh, oh my gosh!! I finished the book and kept trying to turn the page until I realized I finished it! Talia did it once again, she continued to leave a string of broken hearts, save the world, and find a way to live her life the way she wants!
In this book she still doesn't sacrifice her lifestyle to appease a man. She finds she can "read" people with alarming accuracy, and still finds time to play matchmaker. Italia is quickly becoming one of my favorite characters ever. She is so in tune with what she wants and isn't afraid to go for it.
I was confused why Talia went to India with plans to change the world but focused the recovery effort to Haiti. I understand it spread around the world, but why didn't Talia revisit Haiti before creating her group?
I think my favorite scene in the book is when Talia creates Solution Manifestation. The idea of creating separate groups of influential people and include representatives from Haiti. I also liked that it was spread over several days ending with the masquerade ball.
I have to give this book 5 stars, if for no other reason than the way Truth pulled me into the story so far I was trying to turn the page when there were no pages to turn! Further, I highly recommend Unrequited to anyone who needs a great escape.

Once I got to the end of Unrequited, even though it left me in a content place, I did not want the journey to stop there for a single moment, so I immediately started Sated. Talia continues on her journey through life going places and doing things that, honestly, most of us don't even dream about and I'm pleased that I have been able to go along as a passenger on this journey. It has been interesting learning of the different cultures, but even more so, the characters have been so well developed that I feel like I know them and I just want the story to go on and on. The story made me feel passion, love, loss, longing and so much more. The theme of giving back to the world is so well described, I wonder if it isn't based on something real. There are just so many themes present in this story - family, looking for love, travel, culture, the world's issue with lack of clean water, loss, voodoo and other themes not of this world - the way it is presented, it makes sense for this story. Looking forward to the conclusion and hoping that everyone gets their hea.

Given To Me For An Honest Review

Unrequited (Book 2) by Truth Devour is the second book in the Trilogy. Make sure you have read book 1 so that you have a better read with this one. This book will grab you from page one. It will then hold you down and you will then find those pages turning and turning and turning some more until you are finished with it. Again the way that the author has written this you will feel yourself becoming a part of the story. This book starts about five years after the first book ended. Talia is still trying to find love. She has had a couple of relationships but they haven't been what she has wanted. She now continues her travels between her home and other places that she has foundations. She still seems to be trying to find herself. Will Talia finally find what she is searching for? Will she finally be happy? Can she show emotions? I really got into this book and can't wait to begin book 3. I recommend this book to all. Be sure to read book 1 first. I look for more from Truth Devour.

Unrequited is part of series that you really need to read book one to understand some of the relationships because that is key to the storyline across the three books. Relationships. That being said, my biggest issue with this and why it didn't get a 4 or 5 star for me is because I feel as if there should have been a book in between book one and book two. Seven and half years have passed and even having read the first in the series, I felt like I had accidentally read the books out of order and missed a bunch. (Actually looked online to make sure this was the second book before I continued).

Don't start this book and think it is going to lead off where the first book ended. You will be sadly mistaken. I only wish there was another book between the first and second. Maybe the author could come up with something because there is a great deal of story that could be told in 7 1/2 years.

I received this book from the author direct and at her own expense.

Having completed and reviewed book one in the series a few days ago and not completely enjoying it I dived into book two in the hope that I enjoyed it more.
I did.

There are many returning characters and some interesting new ones thrown into the mix. The main character was more likeable than the first book as she found herself and her place in the world. There are some great ideas expressed in her life and the story flowed better than the first one too.

I felt more from this book than the first one and it did affect me at times where as the first one did not. I think the storyline and characters are much improved from that book too. The first one was a bit of a struggle at times but I breezed through this one.

I look forward to book three and I will be reading it in the near future. I thank the author again for her gift of her words and her books.

*MORE SPOILERY*

I love how Talia continues to go through life by puzzling things and conveying important messages. I find it interesting how she see things and feel things around her; in her environment - her contact with spirits and ghost of the past.

It was also very heart wrenching once more. Someone is born, someone die; the circle of life carries on.

Talia is simple amazing, eccentric, generous, considerate, exhilarating, unique, brilliant, witty, and the list of positive traits goes on..... and I aspire to be more like her.

And the end is great because finally BODI arrives I'm her life and I'm sure he's about to change everything in Talia's life and break down the walls around her heart and finally fall in love. The suspense of his arrival since the past two books keeps the reader intrigued and anticipating.

So I knew how this one would end, or at least I hoped I knew how this one would end, but it was still a good journey getting there. It did end how I thought it would which was a good thing. I noticed several people on Goodreads giving this book a bad review because they won the book but they did not read the first book in the series. You have to read the first book to understand what is going on. So ignore the reviews that said they did not read the first book! Talia is still on a journey but now she is looking for The One to make her happy. She keeps having dreams and is sure he is out there but does not know where. She is still traveling the world trying to do some good. She finds out more about her parents' deaths which is very emotional. The way this book ends makes me want to immediately jump into the next book.

I received a copy of "Unrequited" from Goodreads First Read.
It was a great winning!

When it arrived at home, the first think I thought was: "Wow! This cover is amazing!". I have to say that I really like the graphics.

But, let's speak about what's important! I started this book at the beginning of February and, at first, I didn't really like it. The protagonist, Talia, seems to know everything, sometimes she seems to know perfectly how to act . I admit that it was really irritating.

Anyway I decided to continue reading "Unrequited". Then I realised that the following chapters were more interesting. I really liked how Indian traditions were introduced and explained. I appreciated the idea of Solution Manifestation.

A good read.

This was a great sequel to "Wantin". I liked that it brought the title into the story and explained it a bit. It wasn't as sexually driven, and this allowed me to get into the story a bit more. I really enjoyed the more personal growth we got to see from Talia this time around, and the connections she built with people. It really does seem like she has magical powers, but that even she could go through troubles. I was a little annoyed that we never really get to know what happened in the space between "Wantin" and "Unrequited", but that was quickly forgotten as the story swept forward inexorably to its anticipated meeting. I cannot wait to see what happens to this fated love in the last story.

Talia Jacobs has been in a relationship for five years that as of late isn't working at all. She knows that her boyfriend is cheating on her yet she's okay with it. I sure as hell wouldn't be okay with it in her shoes. Talia goes about finding a life that suits her where she can grow and become the person she's meant to be. Talia is a restless spirit that needs to wander around to find her niche. Will Talia ever find love? Will Talia always be restless? Your answers await you in Unrequited.

This sequel definitely showed alot of growth in Talia's character. The story and characters were flawed in a good way, compelling, raw, real, honest, and down to earth. I'm definitely looking forward to reading the next book in this series.

This is book 2 in Talia's life journey as she seeks the true love of her life. She is much more mature person than in the first novel and has turned into a more mystical, soul searching, unselfish individual. Her focus is to improve the lives of those less fortunate than she. She has developed a 6th sense about what people need and is able, due to her enormous wealth and deep understanding of the human condition, to provide it. She has developed into a kind and generous person who never wants the limelight and always puts others first. This was an excellent bridge novel for the final book in the trilogy. A very quick read, like the first novel in the trilogy.

As a second book, I was hoping for more from Devour, but alas I was left wanting more. The book felt quite off - we got snippets of Talia's life, and we were never given more information that might have fleshed out some of the more interesting concepts like Solution Manifestation.

My issue remains Talia - I find her an unlikeable character, used to being waited on, and the only friends she seems to have are those that she pays for i.e. her employees. Talia is so wrapt up in herself, and her issues, that she steamrolls those around her. Talia is just one of those characters that you'll either love or join me in hating....

A heartwarming tale following Talia as she relishes challenges to pursue her life's dreams. The twists and turns were unexpected and I found it a very compelling read, the situations were conceivable through the descriptions of situations and emotions . Really enjoyed this story but didn't realised it was a sequel and wish I had read book 1 first (although this wasn't necessary) and look forward to the next book by Truth.

Big thanks to goodreads First Reads where I won a review copy of this book.

Good book. Very deep in thoughts. Probably not for the person who wants a light, fluffy, romance novel. This book takes you into a deep reflection on what Talia, the main character, feels, thinks and wants. It has an esoteric edge to it, drawing from Indian and Haitian beliefs. Talia is searching for meaning and love in her life but also accepting that she will probably never have more than what she has at that moment and being ok with that. She lives very much in the moment and shares the happiness she feels with everyone she connects with. Lovely story.
