This story is about a family that is trying to make “Big Mama's Stew”. They all argue what the secret ingredient is, but it doesn't taste like the infamous stew. Finally, Big Mama comes over and adds her secret ingredient, which makes it perfect. This is a great book to create a dish in class. I think it is great for kindergarten and first grade.

Loved this book. It shows a black family bonding while they try to prepare Big Mama's signature stew for her birthday.
