A short story of coming of age and coming out. Abby has loved Alicia for a long time, but struggles to define the actuality of their relationship. It's difficult for Abby to define anything really, especially herself. A girl named Jem helps her to see things better, even if she still sees them by candlelight.

I always start w a content rating. safely YA no wanton drug use or violence. no nudity. crudeness. but there was sexual tension - kissing and a cuddle or two first let me say - this is not a book - it's a short story. a very good one. well written and fast paced. stays on track and does not waste a word. and it's nicely original. glad I read it. five stars - w the understanding that this is a short story, not a book
