Dr. Takakusu Junjirō (Japanese: 高楠 順次郎, published as J. Takakusu) was an internationally-known scholar of Buddhism. He studied Sanskrit at Oxford University, and continued post-doctoral studies in France and Germany. At the time of his death, he was Professor Emeritus of Sanskrit at the Tokyo Imperial University.
