Bethesda Softworks teams up with Dark Horse Comics to create Fallout: New Vegas—All Roads, a complete graphic novel previously only available in the Fallout: New Vegas collector’s edition! All Roads introduces the world of New Vegas, a town of dreamers and desperadoes being torn apart by warring factions vying for complete control of this desert oasis, and tells an intriguing tale of loyalty and violence that leads right up to the beginning of the game. Written by Chris Avellone, the game’s senior designer, All Roads is tightly integrated into the story of New Vegas, even containing clues to ingame missions for the sharpeyed reader. War... War never changes.
Fallout 1 was one of those games that marked my teenage years. I became a fan. Over the years, I've become a fan of Avellone's writing in games also with Planescape: Torment still being my favorite). I've even had a nice chat with him couple of years back.
This comic book serves as a prologue of a Fallout: New Vegas game and ends just before the game starts. As such, doesn't really have a lot to offer. Just a glimpse of that world before you throw yourself in it.
It's brutal, filled with all things Fallout and should appeal to fans of series. Others, no need to read.

I automatically love anything even faintly related to Fallout (as you can probably tell by my reviews of anything set in or around Boston) and I love New Vegas so much. I didn't know this comic existed until today, but it was pretty cool. I still don't really feel anything for Benny, though, even though it was fun to get his backstory a bit.
To be honest I hadn't even considered that the Mojave meant going back to basics away from established settlements, properly. The tribal lifestyle then being so affected by Vegas's bright lights. A nice prequel, even though comics aren't usually my thing.

COMICS. Comics never change. This short comic, based off of the hyper-popular Fallout games series, is definitely for serious Fallout fans only. It’s short and makes for a quick read, and covers a lot of familiar ground from the world of Fallout: New Vegas. Revisiting some of the tribes of the desert wasteland, like the Great Khans and the Chairmen, we get to peek a bit at their origin stories and for a few notable characters, their personal backstories as well. I won’t spoil anything, but there is a certain geographic feature in the game that HAD an interesting and mysterious backstory, but no more!
As far as content is concerned, this is a quick run back through the desert and familiar territory, but nothing that non-fans should be concerned about missing out on. I gave this 3 stars because I AM a superfan, and this book’s IP connection rates an entire star for that alone. Overall, not a bad little comic, but nowhere NEAR enough content for a diehard fan to sink their teeth into. We could have had SO MUCH more…but that’s why there are Wikis.

Fallout: New Vegas-All Roads was written by Chris Avellone and serves as introduction to the world and the antagonist of New Vegas, Benny. I believe that this is a great comic and does its job of introducing the reader into the world that is the Mojave, including significant events and locations in the Game.
Personally,I think the book does it's job by explaining how Benny and the Khans managed to find The courier and knock him out as seen in the New Vegas intro. I really enjoy characterization of Chance and how he's mute, as well as the fact that his past trauma does come into play in the novel. I think my only Gripe is that the novel is pretty short and I personally would love to see a little more personality from the other Khans.
All in all, this novel is great as an introduction to Fallout New Vegas and a nice short story.

I had no idea what was going on here since I haven't played the New Vegas game (but I have played Fallout and Fallout 2 and watched the TV series.)
I will say the art was decent, and the story wasn't bad. The limitations of the story were more my lack of knowledge of the source material, rather than any issues with the story or art itself. In other words, if you played the game, you should check this out. If you don't know the game, I'd skip it.

I have been playing Fallout since 1997 and am a huge fan. Somehow, New Vegas never caught on with me, though. But I am willing to give it another try and I’d love to know more about what went on n the Mojave region after Fallout 2.
Comics are a hit and miss for me these days, but I have faith in Avellone as writer so was looking forward to this.
To start, the art is wonderful. High contrast without loosing too many details. It is mostly facial shots, but it shines with broader scenes with dramatic lightning and some gory action.
There’s a couple of raiders whose faces are a bit too much akin to the ones found in the F3/NV games, which is to say, kind of potato-like, but otherwise they good.
There’s a lovely amount of lore and talk about the status and history of the region so I really liked that. The dialogues are flavorful and full of character.
But in the end the story kind of fell flat. I get that it is a prequel and ends right at the start of the game. But, on its own, there isn’t much of a plot.
So, as a visual, wonderfully drawn, look into the setting it’s great.
But story-wise it doesn’t add much.

Prequel di Fallout:new Vegas,si incentra sulla figura di Chance,un membro dei Khan che non è mai riuscito a superare la tragedia di bitter spring,che viene coinvolto nella spedizione per la cattura del corriere(l'inizio del videogame)la Graphic Novel è splendidamente realizzata dal punto di vista grafico e presenta dialoghi molti interessanti basati sul tema principale del videogame(DLC compresi),cioè l'incapacità di dimenticare il passato e continuare a vivere.

There's barely anything worth mentioning here. It's not like the one-shot has time to develop characters or a plot. The artwork is ok, but the story doesn't expand the Fallout universe at all. It's not entertaining, it doesn't answer any meaningful questions. Might as well play the game and get a good 20 hours of proper enjoyment.

Not a bad graphic novel that accompanied the Fallout New Vegas Collector's edition (now also available separately). The artwok and the story are pretty good. However, the book is very short and didn't really provide anything revealing about the Fallout universe.

A prelude to the Fallout: New Vegas computer game (widely revered as one of the best in the franchise). A VIP from New Vegas hires the Khans gang to help him capture a courier in the post-apocalyptic wasteland of the Mojave.
So, cards on the table, I've yet to play a Fallout game (well, I played Fallout 3 for about five minutes but then just went back to playing Oblivion) but I'm fairly familiar with the set-up and I certainly enjoyed the Amazon Prime TV series, so I didn't feel totally out of my depth starting this book.
The big problem is that this is very much a lead-in to the New Vegas game and, as a result, doesn't explore a lot of what we get glimpses of or, in fact, have an actual conclusion to the story presented here (near as I can tell, it leads very directly into the opening of the game). All of that is understandable given its tie-in nature, but I do like my franchise fiction to be able to stand alone if necessary.
Given everything I've just said, however, I was surprised by how engaged I became with the story here. The book not having an actual ending was so disappointing because, in a very short space of time, I became invested in the tale of the wasteland gang and the mysterious and ruthless casino owner.
There's some really interesting stuff here, it's just a shame that none of it comes to anything unless you can go straight on to play the game (I can't, but maybe it's time to install Fallout 4 and explore this world a bit more...).

I loved the video game that this serves as a prologue to. The fallout universe is rich and dark, filled with dark humor and yet, as you play through the games in the series, hope.
Given this was written by the lead narrator/writer of New Vegas, I expected it to be good from the get go for a comic. This certainly didn't disappoint. The tone is grim, purpose driven, and really helps set the mood for the bits of the story you can find in game. (There aren't many).
I would love to see Chris Avellone make more of these, set in the Fallout universe. The only real complaint I could think of is how short it is. But comics in general are fairly short... in terms of length and price point, I would suggest getting a digital version unless you want to add this to your collection of physical comics/fallout memorabilia.

A fun tie-in graphic novel to Fallout: New Vegas. It gives some great backstory and setting to Benny and the factions that inhabit the Mojave around the wasteland. A good quick read that doesn’t add too much but doesn’t detract at all to the bigger picture of the video game.

Great intro to New Vegas. Benny is one of the most interesting antagonists of the series, i'm glad to see a little bit of his pre-Chairman days covered throughout the book. The artstyle was great too, I like how New Vegas was larger than how it was in the game, more businesses and people on the Strip.

In a nutshell, the graphic novel is a kind of prequel to New Vegas. There's not really much new in it, but it's still nice to see.
The drawing style is excellent, but too realistic here and there for my taste,
There isn't much text, so you can easily get through it in half an hour. At least it made me want to play New Vegas again.

Nice little read for Fallout fans.
All takes place before the beginning segment of New Vegas, where Benny and a group of Khans are on the trail of the courier (your character in the game).
Artwork is nice but it is just too short to be any better than 3 stars.

surprised to see the comic here, but this is a fantastic comic despite its short length. chance is a really interesting character and you actually get some insight into benny, one of my favorite pieces of fallout media for sure
