It is always in your best interest to live the Christian life. Always. In the long run, it is always good for you to be obedient. Always. There is no conflict between obedience and doing what is good for us. If we really believed this, why wouldn’t we follow him? Hunt's premise is that obedience to God is always in your best interest. He explores several areas, including finances, service, purity, and forgiveness. What Hunt does well is compile information from other sources. Some is from popular Christian literature, some from respected psychologists, and some from his own research. His research, or better stated survey, of 1000 or so people is not scientific, and is often poorly presented in graphical form, but it supports his premises. Balancing his own collected data, other popular writers, and a few of his own experiences, he makes a very compelling case.
