Just saw a wonderful production of this at the Holland Park Opera. Loved every damn second of it. So playful and meta and serious and comedic...may be one of my favourite operas now. Need to read a bio of Strauss one of these days too

Hmmmmmmmmmm!!!!!!!!

Not impressed. A great lover of salom e and Elektra but can't see me falling for this one! Passable translation though prefer it in germa n if I have to have it at all.
