While Jean-Michel Pinot attempts to find some semblance of love in New York, Felix Twickson just wants to go back to living a human life complete with feeling that there's a reason to get up every morning. Sandy, one of Felix's best friends who is finally getting over it, finds herself entangled in a relationship she isn't even sure she can handle. A followup story of sorts to a play that has yet to be produced.
Kate is a literary novel about life and love in New York City, which becomes a character itself whether a character is walking through a park or sidestepping other pedestrians. This is my first read for Mr. Davidescu and I enjoyed it (even if it took me a while to read)!
The dialogue between the characters was fun and believable. I loved all the tea references and tips and suggestions peppered throughout the book.
My only minor complaint, I would have liked more Kate in the earlier parts of the book. Other than that, well done!
A great read and not just because it’s set in a city I miss and love or because it’s from a former roommate who is more like family than a friend. Excited to read the other two in this series
