Double Shift is book 3 in the shifted series. This is a continuation of the shifted series and not intended as a stand-alone novel. Being the only girl born to the Alpha, Emory Cheveyo is now blessed with two sisters in law to tone down her male dominated world. Rory and Willow are more like sisters, and as is often the case with sisters, these two seem to want to meddle in her nonexistent love life.
Emory doesn't want a mate. The last thing she needs is more men telling her what to do. So far, Emory has successfully avoided any kind of serious relationship. Evading two enforcers in particular is becoming more difficult now that they both work for her father. Sure, she's attracted to both best friends, but she's pretty sure neither is her life mate. Why bother ruining a friendship over something that would more than likely amount to nothing? Besides, she doesn't even want a mate.
Lynn Leite is an author, artist, teacher and mother of three. Her wild imagination, and gift for gab blended perfectly in 2009, when she decided to write it all down. In addition to writing, she designs and illustrates her own covers.
A major issue for me is alliteration of names. It's lazy and in this series we have to navigate Royal, Ryder, Ranger, Rory before we get to Emory. But the story is good with the pack leader's daughter finally finding her mate/s. Loved the fact that the men mated first, but waited for her to seal their union. Good book.
You know, I really like the story, characters, the plot...and I've read all three so far. I would have rated this higher if it hadn't been for the editing issues. Things like using the word there instead of thier or to instead of too. What really threw me was the apostrophes, or lack thereof, like Hanks instead of Hank's (unless the author is suddenly turning the character into Tom Hanks). Shifted by Lynn Leite is by far the best of the three so far, and the editing grew worse with each one. No, this doesn't mean I won't be reading the final two stories, it just means I won't be jumping the moment they are released.
Emory is equally attracted to two good men, and has been for years. She can't choose, can't hurt either of them, so she has avoidance down to an art. No touchy, no feely! Hank and Sam have been close friends for years, but an unexpected kiss between them has made Sam pull away. Tired of missing each other, and pretending they don't feel what they feel, the men become closer than ever. They find they have both been equally attracted to the Alpha's daughter, Emory for years, and decide to let her know she has two mates! Before they can explain the shock and confusion she feels when she feels the mating fever with both men, she is kidnapped right from a party! The kidnappers had planned well for everything, except getting the wrong woman! Rory was the target. They were determined to kill the chosen one and her sister. What will they do to Emory? Can she stay alive until her mates and family find her, or will they be too late? Is there any connection to the young women Sam and his police team have been finding for several weeks? They were all killed violently; ripped apart! The packs are changing some long held traditions, and some are uncomfortable with those changes. Some are angry. One is insane! I highly recommend this series!
Double Shift book 3of Shifted Series by Lynn LEITE
More surprises and dangers stalking the pack...women are joining the fight against prejudices by purists who will stop at nothing to get rid of those who are not born werewolves. I'm recommending that you have this whole series and enjoying it whenever you want a great time reading!💜
If this manuscript had been proofread and formatted, it would rate five stars. Without those two things, it often reads like a story by a seventh-grader. Great imagination, wonderful characters and story...very sadly not valued enough by the author.
Kinda weird that the first chapters all had more from the heroines of the prior books than the one from this one. It was many chapters in before we really heard her voice.
Could have done without the MM parts, its not my thing at all.
What a twist a female were with 2male were mates. They saved her from a mad man that is still on the loose. The three mates are in love and can’t keep their hands off of each other.
Third book in this series. A bit of a let down from the first two novels, as the ever present issues with editing can at times tame your enjoyment of the story. I was thrilled that Emory found her mates, a bit of a surprise there. Though the romance was lacking something at the same time. This story was just OK. I'd really like to finish this series but I'm wavering now if I really want to spend the money on a maybe.
Well written and continuing the story this is an exciting series waiting to see who mates next and what happens. If you like sifters you'll like these books. If you haven't read any sifter books good choice for a start.
I am enjoying these shifter books. This was interesting because of the unusual mating. I would have liked to read more about the triads dynamic, but what I did read was good.
