She is supposed to choose a random guy with a cell phone and send a message to a number her sister has supplied. Before she can complete this first task, she notices a man following her. This man begs her, with tears in his eyes, to not send the text. On the west side of Vegas, a man is being tortured. Sarah's second task is to arrive at a certain time to stop it. When she shows up late, people start to die. The man who had followed her also shows up. With people dead at the warehouse, the police want to know what she's doing in Vegas and why she was there. All Sarah wants is to get her bike and leave Las Vegas. But Maxwell Ramsey has a different plan for Sarah. She has entered his territory and intervened in his business. Book six in the Sarah Roberts thriller series, like those before it, is hard to put down, although I was a third of the way through before Sarah made much of an appearance. Throughout, the reader meets a softer, more human side of the vigilante her sister Vivian - from the grave and via automatic writing - appointed her to be. Centered around the casinos - and tackling a corrupt out-to-inflict-pain loan shark millionaire and his female body-builder girlfriend - Sarah has her hands full trying to save the innocent. But alas! Two members of the Las Vegas cop population she needs for support in her line of work - she rightfully doubts all cop involvement because of their past track record - prove themselves trustworthy ... and one has a closer tie than expected. The Enigma will keep you on the edge of your seat till the final page is turned.

These books are intriguing, with small dashes of supernatural and psychic abilities that keep them fast paced. I may only give them 3 or three and a half stars, but I don't put them down until I finish them. They are quick reads without fanfare, stylish prose, or challenge, but they are very enjoyable. So if you enjoy Robert Parker's novels or the old Dick Francis books, you will zip through these as well.

Drops you right into the action and keeps you stirred up to the very end. I definitely want to read all the rest just to see what this female hero does next!

3.5 stars

Okay, so here's the problem I'm having with these books, the tenses are mixed up- present and past tenses. The rule is: It's important to avoid switching back and forth between tenses. Make a conscious decision to set your story in the past or present tense, and then stick with it. Sarah Roberts is a fascinating character and that's why I'm continuing to read this series. So if the author reads this, I hope he understands why I can only give 3.5 stars for the books.

Which one?

I'm still not sure which one is the enigma, Sarah or Russell. Great book, and now on to the next.

The Enigma (A Sarah Roberts Thriller, Book 6)

NOTE: This is a very violent series/story. It is not intended for readers under 18 years old age.

These are just super fun, (albeit, violent,) reads. I always like coming back to this author, and this story after awhile just to cleanse my palate of some of the other genres I've read. Yes, the violence is very intense at times, but it's like an action movie: sometimes you just need to see the hero won. Sarah always wins, so I go into these stories knowing she will win and sit back and cheer every time the bad guys get it.

And also:super fast reads! Yea for me! LOVE super fast reads.

I stopped reading this series back at book 5 because it seemed like the perfect place to stop. I was worried picking this series up again, after an almost two year absence (July 2013...read my reviews of those books, if you choose,) would cause me some issues, but I easily fell back into this story and remembered her history fairly quickly. I'm glad for that, because I'm reading the set 7-9 next.

This isn't an over the top, must read story, but a solid three star from me is never a bad thing! Great, great fun!

Sarah rides I to Vegas

Vivian has Sarah on another mission, but it goes ever so wrong. Again she is accosted for being in the wrong place at the wrong time. She meets Russell Anderson, who gives her a warning that goes unheeded and that is where all the trouble begins. But Mr. Anderson k now's that already and he also knows he has to save her or she will surely die. Sarah has no idea about the big betting that takes places with peoples lives at the local hospital or the largest money laundering operation and loans that are made with high interest and the dept is paid off with bodily I jury, death and or by killing someone for the loan shark.
Sarah is shot once again but with a Syringe hold a toxic position and kills you within seconds. She's already at the hospital and the Dr. Is t he administrator of her lethal injection. Will this be her demise or like in the past, will she walk away unscathed?

Another Great Sarah Roberts book. The Author's method of story telling brings the reader directly into the story from the 1st page.

I gave this 4 stars instead of the usual 5 because I felt the suthor kind of left me hanging wondering if there is another person like Sarah who gets his messages from his dead daughter and whether/when the two will work together, if they ever do.

Still, does not take away from the ease and readability of the story and keeping one's interest from the beginning.

I read this in three short sittings. I really like the author's style. Nothing boring about his stories.

A new series for me to love! This is the story of Sarah Roberts, an automatic writer, who is led to help those in need or to stop crimes from happening. Sarah gets written messages from her the other side while blacked out. She has learned to follow the directions given and it will save someone or stop a crime. I really enjoyed getting to know Sarah and the rest of the regular characters. The books show Sarah's development as she matures and explores her gift.

Many twists and turns that lend themselves to the mystery in the book. Jonas Saul is a good writer but he needs to look into finding some serious copy editors. There are so many typos and grammatical errors in the Sarah Roberts series. After paying for a book, either Kindle or paperback editions, I expect better. I am looking forward to reading The Vigilante.

'The Enigma' pulled me in from the start, as was the case with books one through five as well. The storyline was different from the usual Sarah Roberts books, but in a good way. I loved the twist with Russell. He was cryptic, mysterious and quite helpful. Sarah is still just as bad-ass as ever. I love her say-it-how-it-is attitude. I can't wait to read more of this series. A definite must read.

A great ride. Another good, action packed, mysterious, psychic story. Saul does a good job of summary to refresh the reader of where Sarah is in her adventurous life. Ready for the next episode.
