I love action, zombies, paranormal, crazy twists, books that make me laugh right out loud, and surprising endings. I'm an author, singer, and a piano player. I think I'm a little obsessed with writing, but it's what I love to do! I also enjoy helping other authors like me!
Thank you Natasha House for an e-copy of this book in exchange for a honest review.
I am really enjoying this novella series! I'm not sure I can pinpoint exactly what it is about these stories but they are fun reads! Ms. House has a vivid imagination to say the least. The characters are different from anything I have ever read and I care about all of them. With so many different characters, it is easy to begin losing track or just plain not care about some of them (especially in such a short story); however, this book does not do that at all. You become invested in each characters story, individually and collectively!
I'm not even sure if I can pick out favorite characters at this point. I love the wolfinics! Here is basically what I picture:
Yes, I know, they are supposed to be a lot more menacing than this, but Shema is a puppy so I can't help myself!
I also love Deiliah's story. I think her story is the most complex and I enjoy seeing what is going to happen to her next!
And then there is Rhyme. Poor Rhyme! The poor guy needs a break! I'm still not sure how to feel about Oni'on. He's on the edge for me right now and can go either way. I hate his fad'ra though! Something needs to happen about this guy.
I also feel bad for the King and Queen. I wish I didn't feel bad for them because I don't want anything to happen to Shema but I still feel bad for them.
I am still enjoying the drawings that Ms. House incorporates to supplement her writing. Her writing is plenty descriptive and you get a great idea of what the characters look like from her writing, but it is fun to see her drawings!
I am looking forward to the next part of this series!["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>
The Deities Touch is just as descriptive and easy to catch onto as the first one book in the series, The Vullens Curse. My copy barely hit 52 pages, so it's a short easy read that anyone can get through in a a couple hours (or a day if you're slow).
I want to comment on something in this novella that I commented on in the first as well--I'm amazed at how easy it is to remember all the characters. Normally with stories, if I'm introduced to a huge amount of characters early on my brain shuts off and doesn't want to think anymore. I mean I did that with Harry Potter. But here, I was able to easily keep track of all of the distinctly different characters. The multitude of characters is actually pretty astounding when I sit and think about how many people I can list just with 50 pages.
Everything seems to be slowly leading up to something. No one seems to believe that each other's races exist, which is kind of funny for me as the reader since I know that they are all real.
Rhyme's story was probably the most interesting for me (even if his brother's name is Oni'on. Which equals "onion" in my head). Abuse is always a terrible thing, but his fad'ra definitely takes it a lot farther than most authority figures in stories. It was pretty heartbreaking to read, and I was so annoyed with Rhyme for not standing up to him sooner, and protecting Sadie better.
My only complaint now is that I'm getting antsy. I want to know where it's going, who will be put in danger, who will be pitted against who, and which of the characters will somehow end up meeting each other. I can only guess that alliances will be paid, and again I want to know who. It's a fascinating series and I am thoroughly invested in finding out what happens!
Natasha House just gets better and better, what an impressive read!
I haven't read a novel as unique as this, You are going to love the very descriptive and detailed world Natasha brings to life page by page. Natasha does a great job with both her character development creating people that you will come to love and enjoy! I loved getting to read Rhyme step into bravery and be bold, anticipating a journey that was exciting and uplifting even through the hard trials and lessons you will love be a part of his story. A great read for both teens and adults I look forward to the next installment!!!
I love this series of Jade books. This picked up right where the last book finished. I really feel for poor Stelane - her father is such an unreasonable bully and the cause of so much of his family's misfortune but always has someone else to blame! I think he and Deilia's father are two sides of the same coin.
Poor little Shema too, and her mother too... I can't wait for the next instalment and I hope that everything works out as I've imagined.
Another great read, leaving me wanting more yet again!
Cloaked, the 4th installment in the Jade Series, is a non stop ride of excitement, drama, and thrills. Written by Author Natasha House, this novella picks right up where book 3 left us all hanging. As an avid fan of Mrs. House, I have to say I was not disappointed at all in this continuation. Her ability to write multiple story lines and then weave them all back into one cohesive unit is absolutely brilliant. If your a fantasy junky, such as me, you'll love this novella, or if your just looking for something short, but yet exciting, this is the book for you. I am so looking forward to the next installment.
These books do need to be read in order. In book one we learned about all kinds pf new paranormal creatures and some of their back stories. In book two we pick up where we were left and rapidly pick up pace. Something big is about to happen but the author leaves you begging for more. I have fallen in love with these characters, from the babies to the missing elders. I love that the author has included drawings to help you picture her world. Great read. WaAR
I am not completely sure I have the correct book. On my book it does not say book 2. Correction. I am sure now, my cover is not the same but I see it listed here.
Be that as it may. The writing is good. The plot moves fast but it is not for me personally.
Do not take my word for it. Get a copy and decide for yourself.
I have absolutely fallen in love with this series. It's a very refreshing group of paranormal books. The series does need to be read in order for you to fully appreciate and understand the books. I love the Wolfnics, mainly Shema, and how the Icers and Vullens are fighting for what they believe in, never realizing how many lives they are tearing apart. The ending is a major cliff hanger!!!! WaAR
I read this without reading the first(not realizing it was the second...I hate reading out of sequence...) and wonder if I would have got more out of it if I had read in order. Felt like I was missing something?
I'm so excited to release the next edition of the Jade Series! I really hope all my fans enjoy this continued adventure. You'll get a lot more of Oni'on in this one! Hope you enjoy!
