***Now a USA Today Bestseller***
The last thing any professional hockey player wants is to be the old man in the game. The guy who doesn't know when it's time to retire. Still, I can't bear the thought of leaving the game.
This past year I've reflected on all my regrets, and I told myself that once I retire it'll be the time to find the right woman. But this is where it gets tricky.
I think I've found her-although she'll deny our connection to anyone who asks. We've been sleeping together casually and since I'm still playing hockey, I've let her get what she wants-me-whenever she wants.
After being told my career as a player is over, the owner of Florida Fury grants me a shot to stay in the game. A coaching position I didn't know I wanted until it was offered. The catch? He's also passing the family business down to his daughter.
Who's his daughter?
The woman who's been in and out of my bed for the past year. Which means the woman I intend to make mine is now my new boss.

It took me a while but I finally finished the series. This book wasn't as enjoyable as I hoped it would be but it was still a decent read. Nothing too special, it was just an okay read.

What I didn't like much about this book was that while at first the MCs said that they didn't want to have kids in the ending they both changed their minds. Of course that can happen and I get that the authors wanted to address a health issue but I feel like, for some reason, the MCs always have to have kids to get their HEA which is definitely not the case. It's nice to see a couple just enjoying each other's company without having kids every now and then...

Anyway, I feel this was a decent read but not memorable or anything. 3 ⭐

PERFORMANCE REVIEW & RATING: 5 STAR

I have yet to have a bad listening experience with Joe Arden. I feel the story when he narrates it. His performance has a way of captivating your mind and putting you in a headspace that completely lures you into the story and holds you there whether the story itself does that or not. He is magic or rather his voice LOL

My first experience with Melissa Moran as a narrator and I can’t complain. She did an excellent job not just with her POV but also when she narrated as Joe.

The number one way a listening experience can be ruined, in my opinion, is when narrators do not compliment each other or rather the female is way off when she narrates the male POV or vice versa. Joe and Melissa did a great job with this!

STORY REVIEW & RATING: 3 STAR

For the purpose of this review, I’ll be using the word *read* interchangeably with *listened*.

I want to say first, before I go into a review of Offside with #55, that this is the first book in the series that I’ve read. That might be important to know when I tell you some of the things that didn’t work for me. Actually, there’s a whole bunch of circumstances around this story that did not work for me. Let’s go over some facts:

✔️ Jana Gerhart: newly appointed owner of an NHL team
✔️ Kane Burrows: goalie for said team until an injury forces him to rethink his future and previous owner (Jana’s father) offers him the head coaching position for the team
✔️ Jana & Kane have had a sexual buddies thing going on for quite some time before these roles were thrust upon them with little to no head’s up
✔️ Jana has a solid & rigid stance on how she sees her personal life evolving in the future (that’s the best I can do without giving away plot points lol)
✔️ Kane also has a solid & rigid stance on how he sees his personal life evolving in the future
✔️ Jana & Kane’s solid & rigid stances align perfectly with each other

until they don’t … BAM!

I’d like to go into detail about how very little fanfare was woven into the story about Jana becoming the owner or how Kane was handed the position of head coach, not say maybe goalie coach, with zero experience coaching or about how their sexual buddies relationship was just out there and nobody, including he news outlets, threw shade at them for it, but I’m not because those are not the biggest struggles I had with the storyline. The biggest struggle I had was with Jana & Kane’s solid & rigid stances on their personal future. See, those stances are not decisions people make lightly one way or another. GAH, this is really hard to review without giving away spoilers. MADNESS I say lol

Piper Rayne made a choice to throw in a wrench into this story at almost the very end without really giving that wrench the respect it deserved. It is a massive wrench you guys and I am so ridiculously disappointed in not just the flippant way it thrown in but also the flippant way one of our leads just flipped their stance like they were deciding they now liked honey on their pancakes instead of syrup. WTAF did I just read.

So yeah, I was having a good time throughout like 92%ish of the book and then it all went monumentally wrong. I can overlook a lot of things when reading fiction, but some things just can’t be overlooked and honestly, without that particular wrench Piper decided to throw in, this story had plenty of conflict to work with and would have been plenty emotionally driven. I’ve read a whole bunch of Piper’s books and never have I ever been blindsided like this. She’s a better author than this so I’m going to continue to read her work and hopefully not run into this again.

OVERALL REVIEW & RATING: 3 STARS

Overall, I can’t say I don’t recommend this book, especially if you’ve been reading the series from the beginning. The chemistry between Jana & Kane made me root for them and they had a solid foundation from the very beginning which made it an easy read, for the most part. I like the interaction within the team and their camaraderie. This was a fun read until it wasn’t, for me. There’s a whole bunch of other people who don’t feel the same about what they read than I do and maybe you won’t either so go forth and do the thing, or not, your choice :)

I really enjoyed this audiobook. It had great narrators, and it was funny and steamy.

I also loved the heroine and hero had their own ideas for a relationship and didn’t care about anyone else. They defined their relationship.

This is the last book in the series, and I’ve not read the ones before and I never felt lost.

Great Ending to the Series!

I am sad to see this series ending but I am thrilled that Kane and Jana finally get their HEA. Piper Rayne has been teasing us with the secret relationship between these two for a while now and after the big announcement in Second Shot with #76 we were left wondering how Jana, the new owner of the Florida Fury, and Kane, the new coach of the team, would be able to work so closely together and keep their relationship on the down low...well, the wait is over and we find out exactly what happens.

I will say that I enjoyed 90% of this book, it was actually going to be a 5 star read but right there at the end things were changed up and everything we were lead to believe about Kane and Jana's beliefs on their future were tossed aside and a new ending to their HEA was given. I can't say that I am unhappy with the way things turned out it's just that when people have such strong beliefs about certain things they just don't make a 180 turn so easily and I think that is where I was thrown off. Don't get me wrong I still loved the story and I know plenty of people will love the turn of events but for me it just didn't feel genuine to the characters.

If you enjoy Steamy Sports Romances, Office Place Romances, or New Adult Contemporary Romances I would recommend this book to you.

Happy Reading!!!

Kane is the veteran goalie for the Florida Fury who knows that his career is coming to an end whether he is ready for it or not. An unexpected offer to become the head coach may just be the opportunity he was looking for but that also means working with Jana who he has been having a secret fling with and just happens to be the owner’s daughter as well.

Jana is the only child so even though she knows her father would have preferred to have a son take over she has spent her life proving that she is capable. She expected that to happen sometime in the future and not the night that her father announced Kane as the head coach. Now that they are working together she knows that their fling must come to an end but that is easier said than done.

I enjoyed seeing Jana and Kane transition from a fling to friends to a relationship which allowed them to truly get to know each other and build a strong foundation which they will need when the future they are planning is challenged. I listened to the audio copy and thought the narrators brought out the humor and emotion of the story as well as the personalities of the characters.

What a perfect finale for this much adored Hockey Hotties series! Albeit bittersweet, because I am not ready to say goodbye to this dreamy and entertaining rooster of hot athletes. Off Side with #55 captures everything that makes this series so addictive and charming. The fun antics, the magnetic romantic chemistry, and the delicious heat paired with real emotions, swoony moments, and unforgettably lovable characters. And even better, some of my favorite tropes come out to play in this final story! Piper Rayne truly saved the best for last- and the Hockey Hotties will certainly go down as one of my favorite PR series to date.

This was a long waited book for me and the couple I was the most excited about. And let me tell you... Kane and Jana did not dissapointed me at all. They are my favourite couple from the entire series.

Jana is a strong heroine that doesn't do relationships, while Kane is the total opposite. He is a person that wants to be in a relationship. From all the glimpses that we've seen about them in the previous books we learn that they were hooking up about a year. After the big changes that happened in the end of Cory's book both of them are struggling with their new positions. This affect their kind of relationship (🤣 I couldn't find the right word).

Kane is a beautiful man and I was soo happy that he wasn't giving up on Jana and pursuing their relationship. The other best part...she was trying soo hard to not let go of her feelings but thank God, it wasn't working at all 😁. She couldn't denied her attraction.

I love both of them. They are my number 1 couple. We also have a HEA in the end and a small glimpse of Kane's brother, who will start in a brand new series of his own. I am sure that I will love it ♥️.

5 Star review Off Side With #55 (Hockey Hotties #6) by Piper Rayne

AUDIO REVIEW:
Although this is the sixth book in the Hockey Hotties series, it was just as entertaining as the previous books in this wonderful series and was a fantastic addition. Offside With #55 is and story and what a complicated story it is.
Facing the end of his career Kane knows that it just about over. That is until the owner of his team, the Florida Fury, offers him a coaching position on the team. The only catch is that he too is retiring and is passing the team over to his daughter Jana the woman he has been hooking up with for some time.
What will happen when Jana takes over? Will he be happy to have her as his boss? Or will this destroy their chance at happiness once and for all?
The narration by Joe Arden and Melissa Moran really did justice to the story and made it a fitting conclusion the series.

Kane is facing the end of his hockey career but knows that he doesn't know how to walk away from the sport, he accepts the position of head coach of the Florida Fury. Jana has spent her whole life working her butt off to follow in her father's foot steps and when he retires and hands the reins of the Florida Fury to her she knows she has to prove herself not only to her dad and the team but the fans that she is the right person for the job. Which means no distractions; so she ends her hookups with Kane. She doesn't want a boyfriend, doesn't need one and can't afford the distraction. But Kane isn't giving up. He knows that she is his forever.

I didn't want to start this book, just like I didn't want to write this review because that means admitting that this this series is really over. I loved this group of guys and their ladies so much so it is very bittersweet to read Kane and Jana's story. Kane was such a patient and amazing man, ultimate book boyfriend material. I was very pleasantly surprised by him and his giant heart. I was a bit disappointed with the conflict. It seemed to come out of left field and was too easily resolved and then the story was over. Just felt a bit rushed. But I love Kane and Jana. They really won me over and were a fantastic conclusion to the Fury. And that extended epilogue? The most epic of chef's kisses of all the chef's kisses. Exactly what we needed to finish out the series.

(I received an ARC for this book)

My life went from simple to complicated in the span of an hour.

I love the letter to the ARC readers more and more every time, and this one might be my favorite? The future of Florida Fury is upon us, which seems fitting for the last book of the series. Which means it’s bittersweet. Not that this gave me much time to focus on the sad when there was so much perfect tension of the sexual variety going on! As we already know going into this, Kane and Jana are…enjoying each other’s company. But during Coach’s retirement party, things change in an instant. And suddenly everything Kane and Jana knew was completely changed. I wanted to hug Kane from the get-go. I mean, I’ve always felt like I needed to give him a hug. But definitely now! Our darling goalie is sometimes arrogant, usually cocky, and always confident. But when he goes from player to coach, he’s hesitant, almost lost. And losing Jana to her new job position, well…he’s definitely lost. Especially when she unexpectedly pulls the plug on him, when he was hoping for more. (And this is my first time reading the GUY wanting more while the girl doesn’t, so I enjoyed that aspect.) Even though there’s tension and they’re both unhappy with the situation, that doesn’t mean either of them are ready to let the other go. I found myself saying “you tell her Coach” out loud MULTIPLE times. Because Jana is still her usually cold self. He wouldn’t ever admit to it, but you could tell it really hurt Kane to feel like he was back on the same level as ‘everyone else’. Jana was so out of touch with her friends, herself, the team, and reality. She had so much animosity towards him, as if HE’S the one who called it quits on HER. I went into this still a little upset with Jana. So she had to do a bit of butt kissing for me. Which, I’m happy to say she did. Kane never half asses anything, so after the highest of highs and the lowest of lowest, he’s ready for all in. I loved every moment we got with this friend group. It always makes everything feel special, like we’re part of the fun. The bonus scene…was a perfect send off. I already miss everyone.

My Favorite Quotes:
• “I’ve had a hell of a day. I don’t want egg rolls and lo mein. I want you naked, coming around my c!ck and screaming my name.”
• “I’ve seen you come around my c!ck, my fingers, and my tongue. You’re not going to intimidate me.”
• “When I have you again, I want to know that you’re not going to walk away from me.”
• “I know you want me, and it’s okay if you’re not ready yet.”
• “Come to me open to seeing what this is between us, and you’ll make me the happiest man on this planet.”
• “I never hated you. Not even for a second.”
• “I’m giving you fair warning, if you don’t want to be kissed, move.”
• “God, I feel like I’m in a dream. Tell me I’m not.”
• “Then I’ll take my Cs somewhere else.”
• “Ride me, baby. Just like you used to.”
• ‘I reach for the back of her neck—not to guide her, she’s perfect. I just need to touch her.’
• “I only want one thing for breakfast and that’s you.”
• “Say it again, baby.”
• ‘But I want us to live where we fell in love and that’s where I fell in love with you.’

Offside with #55 is the final book in the Hockey Hotties series by the authors Piper Rayne.

Kane and Jana finally have their story! The authors gave us teasers in the previous books but we now have both of their backstories.

Kane was the (now retired) goalie of the NHL team, the Florida Fury. We learned in the previous book, he retired and was now the new head coach. Only problem was his secret hook up for the last year, Jana, was the owner’s daughter, and now she has the reigns of the company and is his new boss. She was cold as ice and didn’t want anything to do with Kane except receive the much needed release from her stressful and very hectic life. I enjoyed both characters but Jana was a little too cold for me so it took a while to relate. Not my favorite couple of the series, but enjoyable none the less.

In the end, it was a quick and enjoyable read and a great wrap up to the series. And a surprise, we met Kane’s brother, who I immediately fell in love with, and we’ll get his story in a new series, Kingsmen Football Stars, as the first book You Had Your Chance Lee Burrows. I totally can’t wait!

this is a second chance romance (kinda) and also an office romance.

i really wish i could love this, but sadly i just didn't connect with any of the characters, I also didn't like their romance, they used to sleep together but due to working together they stop but they can't fight their attraction.

Offside with #55 had me hooked like a puck to the face — unexpected, a little painful (for them), but wildly entertaining. 🏒😅🔥

One minute they’re casually hooking up, the next she’s his boss… because why not make things wildly complicated? 😬💼

The banter, the drama, and that forbidden chemistry? Chef’s kiss. 👩‍🍳💋

Well this left a lot to be desired. Mostly, there were a lot of plot details that were not fleshed out at all. Like no external conflict for a relationship that would give the press and others obvious pause. the interpersonal “conflict” at 90% was resolved within a few pages of it being brought up in the first place. And on a personal note, it really rubbed me the wrong way - It is completely valid to want to remain childless and the idea that a romance isn’t complete without a child in the future is so toxic and antiquated. The last couple of books from this author have been huge disappointments, so I don’t know if I will continue to read their upcoming work.

Review by Jen Skewes

This was the book that I ahem been waiting for in this series. Kane and Jana are the couple that we all wanted to see. We knew that something was going on between them, but needed to how serious it was and why they were hiding it. their story did not disappoint.

Jana is a very strong and independent woman. She has no desire to get married or even fall in love for that matter. this thing she is with Kane is nothing more than just casual sex. But when she learns of their new position with the the Florida Fury, this thing between them may not work any more. Now she will be his boss which will certainly have an effect on what is going on between them.

Kane is the complete opposite in the sense that he wants a relationship. He is not afraid to admit that either. He knows the Jana has walls up and while he cannot figure out why, he knows that she is the only woman that he wants. He doesn't agree with ending their relationship but goes along with it. The tension between them is very noticeable, which is ruining their work relationship as well. Given their new positions they need to work together, not against each other. At some point, Jane realizes how good they are together and how much she misses being with Kane. But she is still hesitant about being in a relationship. Kane is not about to give on on them or her. He knows that slowly he can break down her walls and make her see what is right in front of her. A man who loves her and wants to spend his life with her.

I loved Kane and Jana together. All though I admit that Jana is not the easiest person to like, but she is the perfect match for Kane. and I admit that she grew on me. The passion and chemistry between the two of them is palpable. but what I loved was that this was all just about the sexual side of their relationship. We see the two of them opening up to each other and fall in love with each other, which was wonderful to watch.

I loved getting to see hang and hang out with my favorite Fury players and love the interaction between them all. The team building exercise scenes were especially fun. I am sad that this is the last of this series but what a perfect couple to end it with. Looking forward to the next series.

I’m a bit sad to see Piper and Rayne’s Hockey Hotties series wrapping up with OFFSIDE WITH #55. It’s been lovely getting to know all of the players and their significant others, and I’ve absolutely loved all of the team dynamics and friendships that have grown throughout the series! As a whole, the series was wonderful and I’ve thoroughly enjoyed it!

Kane and Jana have been teased for a while now, and we’ve seen some snippets of them in the previous books, so I was looking forward to seeing their story in OFFSIDE WITH #55. I did love them, but while I found the previous book a bit too dramatic for me, I did find that this one felt a bit too flat because we’d seen so much of Kane and Jana’s drama in the previous books. I did love their chemistry and their banter was fantastic, but I was left wanting more after finishing this one. I still enjoyed it, but wish we’d gotten some of their earlier moments saved for their actual story.

Overall, I thought that OFFSIDE WITH #55 was a great addition to the series and a wonderful way to tie everything together. It was fantastic to get to know both Kane and Jana deeper and to see them open up to love. It was sweet, steamy, and fits right in with the other books in the series! I definitely have to say that I’d love to get more of the Florida Fury because I’m not ready for their stories to be finished, but I did think that it left in a lovely place. I will recommend to anyone finishing this book to get yourself Piper and Rayne’s bonus scene for it though because that was what I really needed to feel content with the series coming to an end. I’d recommend OFFSIDE WITH #55 to readers who love sweet, yet steamy romances that feature lovely friend groups. Now, I’m just going to sit here and hope we get a Tweetie and Tedi novella or book someday. ;)

Last instalment of the series: Jana & Kane. She is the team’s owner and he is the ex- goalie now coach.

I liked Kane from the previous books and I was excited to read his story. That’s why I wanted it to be a lot better and wasn’t totally satisfied.

I mean, I still liked him a lot after reading the book, I thought he was clear and fought for what he wanted from the beginning.

I wasn’t thrilled with Jana. We weren’t told what was it that made her behave the way she did and it was a bit annoying.
I also didn’t have an idea of what they saw in each other that made them fall in love. It was slightly superficial.

The end felt a bit rushed and I wasn’t a fan of their sudden change of opinion. At all.

-Dual 1st person POV
-Spice: 🌶️🌶️

Overall: 3.5/5 ⭐️ for me.

I can't believe the end of the hockey hotties is here. I don't want to see them go but I really wanted this story!

We have been building up to Offside With #55 for so long and I loved Kane and Jana's story! I went in expecting their love and hate and push and pull and while this book did have that it also had so much more. They both were beginners at coaching a sports team and owning one and navigating their "secret" relationship and all that that includes. So much on both their plates and I loved learning all that went on behind the scenes of the other books.

This was a great end and I definitely recommend this entire series! I was also lucky enough to read through this book on audio and Joe Arden and Melissa Moran were perfection as Kane & Jana!

If you have been on this ride we super fans know as the Hockey Hotties, you know we have been waiting for Kane and Jana for a while and, of course, theirs is another amazing story.
Though Kane Burrows has not been my favorite throughout the series for his overall attitude, I couldn’t help but falling in love with him. Not only is he so in love with Jana that he is willing to wait until she’s ready to give into their attraction, but he’s such a good man one can’t help but drag him up to the “best book boyfriend” shelf whether he wants it or not.
Jana Gerhardt is just the perfect woman for the big, burly and brooding former goalie and as expected they are both stubborn and butt heads more than once which only helps inflame their lust for each other.
This is the perfect story for Kane and Jana. Their respective flaws and shortcomings, the fears that have kept them in the casual zone and the discovery of deeper feelings, wants and the conflicts that surround their relationship seem as if they were mixed in a lab to create the right amount of romance, angst and drama on the road to find their HEA. My one regret is that the Hotties are now done, but I hope the ladies will find it in their hearts to have us revisit the Fury at some point in the future.

I really hate to see this series go; I have thoroughly enjoyed the Hockey Hotties. This was a much anticipated story and pairing and Piper Rayne did them right. Okay, yes I had to suspend belief a bit with their job situations and how everything worked our perfectly but I think sometimes that’s what we all need to know that sometimes everything does work out even when it seems impossible.

Offside with #55 contained a bit of everything that has made this series remarkable; team hijinks, insane chemistry, emotional depth, and loveable characters. Kade and Jana might have seemed like an odd pair but they complemented one another very well and it was obvious Kade could handle a strong woman but also be there when she needed to show her softer side. There were lots of up and downs and starts and stops to the romance in this book, but I think that made it all the more satisfying when things worked out.

I’ll also admit I loved meeting Kane’s brother, Lee and hope that his introduction means there will be a Football Hotties series soon.

Kane's life has just changed in a matter of seconds. He's no longer a hockey player, he's a hockey coach. Jana's life too has changed within the same matter of seconds. She's no longer the hockey team owner's daughter, she's the new hockey team owner. She and Kane are no longer friends with benefits. They can't because reasons. Because obviously the owner and the coach cannot fraternize. Sounds appropriate on paper, but rarely do humans and their feelings stay within the lines of "on paper."

It's the end of an epic series, end of an era of hot hockey players and the women who bring them to their knees as they fall in love, and Kane and Jana's story is a fitting one for the conclusion of the Hockey Hotties world. I always figured Kane would have an interesting backstory, and boy did he. For once, the guy was the one wanting more, and the woman was keeping him at arm's length. Jana was fine with their no strings arrangement, relished it actually, and it bothered her as much as it did Kane that they could no longer have anything but a professional one. The way they fought simmered with antagonism, which was of course masking deeper feelings, so deliciously fun. I'm going to miss this hockey world, but am looking forward to Kane's brother Lee's story, starting off a new series, Kingsmen Football Stars.

Off Side with #55🏒
Out Now✨

Story: 5/5⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Narration: 4/5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Although I'm sad this series is now complete. I'm so happy we finally got Kane and Jana's story. I absolutely loved it! 💚

Narration; 🎧

Joe Arden and Melissa Moran do a great job with these characters. Giving them the emotional and levity that they need in the story. However there were moments where the voice change wasn't present or distinct enough to show who was talking in Kane's chapters.

Story; 📚

So I had been waiting for Kane and Jana for so long! I knew I was gonna love Kane from the interactions he had with the team so I was looking forward to it. Jana was a huge question mark for me because she seemed kind of mean in some of the books. But wow, her development was amazing!

Jana was headstrong, very independent and stuck in her way. But she is was also very vulnerable. I really liked seeing that side of her. She became a favorite! ❤️

Kane was a joy and I love him. He had that I'm done with your bullshit attitude and I found it endearing. I was not expecting the level of depth his upbringing would have in the story but it was a welcome surprised it made me appreciate the character all the more! 😭🥰

I loved the interactions with the players and their wives! It's something Piper Rayne does exceptionally well. Warner was a highlight for sure! 💕

Also I'm so ready for Lee!!! I can already tell I'm going to love him!👀🤩

Overall, this was amazing! I'm gonna miss these characters so much! 💕

Thank-you @valentine_pr_ for the chance to review this ARC! 💚

I have loved this series and I think this couple and book is probably my favorite.
The hate/lust secret affair Jana & Kane had was hot and entertaining throughout the series and beginning of this book.
Now, they finds themselves in new positions. Kane has retired from the hockey team and is now the head coach. Jana gets blindsided by her dad retiring and making her the team owner at the same time.
Their relationship stops, Jana’s call of course, she is “lady boss” after all ;) They now have to work together for the hockey team that’s hopefully headed to win the Cup this season.
The tension, banter and heat between them is so good. It’s fiery hot and entertaining.
I love how strong and self assured both characters are, yet their new work positions put them into a bit of uncertainty/self-doubt. This is an interesting part of their story.
I loved their slow way back to being able to be around each other somewhat normally, I loved the ways they adapt and change because of each other.
They are so lovable even with their stubborn, gruff and terse ways.
Their chemistry is amazing, I love the way they pick fights and both “get off” on it. I love the enemies vibes always.
I loved the when things change between them in a real way.
This story gave me banter, passion, heat and all the feels.
I loved the secondary characters from the previous books being in the book, it was so necessary as it’s the last book and they are like family.
The story is really great, I loved their journey and the personal things that they go through and deal with.
It’s full of entertainment, heat and lots of heart.
The ending was very satisfying even as it was a little sad for me as I’ll miss all these characters.
The bonus epilogue was so amazing, it’s the best ‘bye to all these wonderful, fun characters.
I LOVED it!

Offside with #55 is the sixth and final book in the Hockey Hotties series, and is a boss/employee, friends with benefits romance between Kane, the new coach of the Florida Fury team, and Jana, the new owner.

Jana and Kane have been hooking up on and off for years, when he was a player on her dad’s hockey team, but in the space of one evening, their roles in the Florida Fury have changed. Jana’s now the owner, the one running the business side of things, and Kane the coach, the one focussing on the team. Historically these two figures have always butted heads, but with the chemistry and underlying relationship between them, things are about to get fiery. Both are learning on the job, whilst trying to balance their feelings for one another as well as everything else in their life, and when things start to spiral, they know they can no longer continue to see one another. But when they realise that they need to have some kind of bond to keep the team running, they build a friendship which can only prove that they are meant to be. But even if they overcome the obstacle of dating as coach and owner, do they both want the same things out of life, or are their pasts holding them back from a future?

Having read the build up between this couple for a few books now, I knew it was going to be an explosive story and I was right. The back and forth on whether they can still keep their friends with benefits relationship going, despite the fact that both of their feelings had changed, and realising that if they wanted this to work, they would have to keep it professional was very well written. But once they decided they could make it work when being in a relationship, Piper also wrote about difficult things, the questions you have to ask your partner to determine whether you both want the same things from the future and what to do if you don’t.

Jana was a very independent woman, who on the outside seemed like she knew what she wanted and would stop at nothing to get it, but underneath was still anxious and nervous about her new role and proving to her father, the team, and the rest of the world that she was the right woman for the job. It made her human, and relatable, and I really loved her character.

Kane kept to himself, having come from a difficult background he didn’t want history to repeat itself, or to have anyone in his business to offer sympathy. But the introduction of his younger brother helped bring out his lighter side, and I am very much looking forward to Lee’s own book as he is the complete opposite to Kane in many ways, but I am sure they have their similarities too.

This hockey series has been very enjoyable to read, any series that follows a group of friends/family on their individual paths to love are a must read for me and watching the earlier couples flourish in their relationships and settle down just gives you another connection to the world within each book. Piper Rayne never disappoints, and this series lives up to every expectation. I am sad to see it end but one I will always recommend. Piper Rayne is one of my favourites, and whatever genre they write, they draw you in and make you invest in every character, not just the leads.

Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️💫
Tropes: Sports Romance, Workplace, Forced Proximity, Fudge Buddies
POV: First Person, Dual POVs
Format: eBook

I really, really, really enjoyed this book. The chemistry between the main characters was shown on every single page of this book and the dynamic setting and friend group that Piper Rayne created in this kept me so engaged. I’m reading this series out of order because when Piper Rayne shared the blurb for this book I couldn’t help myself. And honestly I didn’t feel left out at all. So with that being said if you’re looking to read this as a standalone, do it! Just know you’re gonna get sucked down a Hockey Hotties rabbit hole and you’re gonna end up wanting to go back to the beginning like I did!

I’m head over heels in love with Kane Burrows. Like get on my knees and worship the ground this man walks on type love. My favorite type of hero is one that is completely obsessed with the heroine and Kane Burrows is top level simp. Being in this man's head and getting to read about how much he is utterly smitten with Jana gave me goosebumps. I can only hope I find a man one day that is a fraction as much of a man that Kane Burrows is.

Kane and Jana have this push and pull relationship, mostly pushing on Janas side, that causes them to constantly be butting heads and I lived for it. It was really sweet watching them finally open up and find comfort and support in each other. There were moments when the slightest brush of a hand or touch was made to calm each other and I just love when authors include those small sentiments that mean so much in a relationship. I’m getting all worked up thinking about this again. Okay fine I’ll stop, just know that I love this pair so much.

Also can we talk about the team building weekend for a moment because it was absolutely hilarious. I can’t tell you the last time I giggled as much as I did throughout that weekend. It was such a unique and funny idea to put in a book and I loved seeing all the previous heroes tackling that weekend, especially Warner.

There’s something that occurs towards the ending of the story that I don’t enjoy reading in books, but I appreciated the way it was handled without a ton of emphasis and I was able to still enjoy the story. I will include it in my content warnings above because I know this can be a sensitive subject for others also.

If you can’t tell already, I really love this book. It’s one of my all time favorite Piper Rayne books. The couple just felt so perfectly paired and left such a mark on me. I can’t wait to finish out the rest of the series and maybe catch more snippets of my favorite couple on their journey to each other.

Offside with #55 is the 6 and last book in the Hockey Hotties series by Piper Rayne. And If you have read the previous book in the series you have been waiting like me for Jana and Kane who we have know have a great chemistry but they dont want to recognize it.

So in this book we know their story, like something that start like a relationship with not strings just 2 adults enjoying their company it start changing to something more, but Jana is so sure that she is not ready for a relationship, specially now that she is the new owner of the hockey team and Kane is the coach. But Kane will do anything he can to show her that no matter that situation they can be a really great couple and have a future together. Specially because they want the same things for the future or at least that's what they think?? If you want to read and enjoy how this couple find their HEA you need to read this book.

I think this book was really good and has the perfect ending for the series, where we see the previous couples happy and helping their friends no matter what.

And another great think?? We get to know Kane little brother who is going to have his own story in the new series by Piper Rayne and let me tell you just for the tiny bits that we know about him, I'm so excited for his book and that new series about another sport team. YAY!!!

Jana is here for a good time, Kane wants it all. When it comes to the end of his hockey career, he thinks he has at least one more good year, because who is he without hockey? Jana's dad is retiring and leaving the team to her, but not before they offer Kane the coaching position. These two have had a no strings attached relationship for a while now, but that has to stop if they need to work together.
These two are firecrackers in and out of the sheets, but they need to keep it in check for the sake of the team. Kane knows he wants Jana for the long haul, but Jana isn't so sure she ever wants to settle down. Both of them have baggage that they need to work through before they can be the person that they need to be in this relationship.
I loved the back and forth between these two and the tension was on fire. I enjoyed each of their view points and why they were the way that they were. I couldn't relate as much to Jana as I wanted but I really felt her pain towards the end of the book. I was rooting for them the entire book. I love hockey and I thought this encaptured the perfect mix of team dynamic and working together to come back stronger in the end.

Offside with #55 by Piper Rayne is such a great read!

The storyline is entertaining from start to end, it's well written, well paced and every character added to my enjoyment.

I loved watching Kane and Jana's love story unfold, these two are smart, stubborn and passionate characters that had me smiling and swooning all throughout the book.
I enjoyed their banter and I loved their chemistry. Kane and Jana found the perfect partner in life in each other.

Kane and Jana have been a long awaited couple and their story was well worth the wait. It was almost so good that you forget this is the end of a fun witty series that we all loved.

Watching Kane and Jana go from the hook ups as player/owner's daughter to the friction of coach/owner as they tried to fight thier chemistry and underlying feelings was very interesting. There were many times I wanted to smack them both upside the head. Kane and Jana found themselves in the media forfront as the followers had lots to say about the new positions and how they would handle things. This just added another level to the feelings they were trying to hide from everyone.

When they find the lines crossed once again, it's different this time. Kane had decided before the changes that he was ready for all in. Jana took a little longer to understand her feelings and realize what she really wanted. Things couldn't be that simple with these two thought and there are some other underlying things they need to find a common agreeance on. Will those things be the divide or will they open their hearts to the whole package?

Sad to see this group of hockey fellas and their wonderful ladies come to an end. Excited for the start of a new series full of football and frollic.
