Coming of age story about two boys that grow up together where one loves the other more so that makes for a complicated emotional roller-coaster. There is no HEA in this story, but it is realistic in this modern era where sexuality is a huge gray area and difficult to just put a name to, like gay or straight. Two ghetto children find a safe way out through basketball and hard choices. With good English narrator and slang street talk dialogue.

Foolish,
thinking it could be you and me.
Foolish,
thinking we'd go to the same University.
Foolish,
thinking we could just be friends.
Foolish,
thinking it was a win/win.

I enjoyed this short story on one man's journey to get his best friend to realize the feelings they had for one another and to act on them. The ending for me was a little sad

Way to break my fracking heart. This was just. God. I loved the story but there was just so much heartbreak, not really worth it for me since there wasn't a HEA. I would have loved this to be longer but I honestly probably couldn't have handled it. This was just a really good story and the delivery was beautiful. My only complaint is the lack of a HEA.

Nice Short Story

Some interesting elements to this story. Wish there had been more. There are some great truths to one sided love, but after a while it's not enough for the character nor the reader.
