In February 1954, Victoria Edwards bled to death after a botched dental procedure. Three days later, she woke up in the morgue wearing a toe tag. She was 25. After routine dental surgery goes horribly wrong, Victoria bleeds to death, is pronounced dead, and placed in the hospital morgue. While “dead” she visited “somewhere” and was placed in a learning center where she learned the answers to some of life’s most controversial questions and was shown visions of the horrifying consequences of certain women’s fate. In this true story, learn why she did not want to return to her Earthly existence, how her life was forever changed upon her return, and how she spent her entire life longing to go back to “somewhere.” Fifty two years later…On April 30, 2006...she got her wish. This is the incredible true story of her temporary death. **** NOTES ABOUT THIS In a cassette tape given to her by her dying mother, a young woman was able to recount, in her mother’s own words, the cold winter night in 1954 when her mother bled to death…then woke up three days later in the morgue wearing a toe tag. It was her mother’s dying wish for her daughter to “please do something with my story so others will know.” Her name was changed per her request to protect the privacy of her family. What you are about to read is the actual transcript from that tape.

In 1954 Victoria Edwards bled to death during a routine procedure that went terribly wrong, only to awaken in the morgue 3 days later with an amazing tale. While her Earthly vessel lay in death, Victoria experienced insight and sights she could never have imagined, an insight she dared not share until now.
A Temporary Death by Lisa V Proulx is written as a transcript from the recordings of Victoria Edward, this dictation tells the journey of this woman's 'temporary death' and the struggles she faced on her return. I really enjoyed how the telling of this tale remained true to Victoria's dictation. You have her story, her words, told in the way she wanted it told. While a short tale it is also a powerful one, stirring emotional responses and encouraging the reader to consider what they themselves believe and might experience in their own death, be it temporary or otherwise.
A Temporary Death—Three Days in Heaven is the true story of a young woman who died and experienced an afterlife. (The author is writing the story from recordings the woman provided.) It begins with a dental surgery gone wrong. The young woman ends up bleeding to death. The last thing she remembers is hearing the words, "We lost her." From there, her spirit is transported to another place. Different from the usual tunnel with the white light one normally hears about. The woman describes what she experiences in vivid detail before she is returned to her earthly body which is still lying in the morgue.
The story doesn't stop there. It continues with how the experience profoundly changed her life, including heightening her ability to communicate with those "beyond the veil."
A Temporary Death is a fascinating read and certainly supports the belief that there's more after our earthly existence. Highly recommended.
