Gavin, Gavin, Gavin. Our best friend and hero of a HEA. A true fighter. I love his pet name for his mate. This story is a bit of a heartbreaker but it’s not in Cassandra M’s style to keep the characters and the readers suffering for longer than necessary to get the HEA.

I was already hooked with the first book. This is the second book in the series and it doesn’t disappoint! I can relate with both lead characters but knowing the truth of what happened before the FL does was heartbreaking for the ML. I highly recommend reading this one but I suggest you start with the first book. It just flows better that way. Thank you Cassandra M for always giving me and your leads a HEA!

Follow the story of Lady Alia and Beta Gavin in Book 2 of the Shadow Pack series. The books are interconnected standalones, characaters appear in Book 1, I strongly suggest reading He's My Alpha. Review: Alia is an Alpha Female, and has been sheltered by her father and brother all her life. When she finds her mate at a Claiming Ceremony fighting for another female, she is left devastated. Beta Gavin recognize Alia but he has to neglect her in order to help his Alpha and Luna. It turns out Gavin is fighting in the Arena as part of a scheme to win back the Luna of the Shadow Pack, Clair. Background story is in Book 1. Many misunderstandings and mishaps come between the couple resulting in a rejection that will cost Alia something very important to her. I suggest patience with Alia, she is inmature but she will learn from her mistakes and will grow to become the perfect Beta Female for Gavin. This is another HEA garanteed by author Cassandra M.

This story involves Beta Gavin and his fated mate Lady Alia who’s romance unfortunately gets off on the wrong footing when their paths collide at the “Claiming”. They eyes fall on one another from across the room in that special moment where they should claim each other as “Mate/Mine” but the gallant and devoted Beta choses his duty to his Alpha over claiming his mate.
Beta Gavin walks away deciding to sacrifice his lamb (Alia) in his attempts to bide time for Alpha Jake to show up to save and claim his mate, Lady Clair.
Lady Alia is heartbroken at seeing her mate walk away from her and doesn’t understand why the fairy-tale dream of meeting your mate and being claimed has been shattered by the one person that was made for her. Gavin and Alia
Second time reading this book, and yet I have to admit that the emotions were back full force.
The story: Upon meeting his fated mate, Gavin is obligated to turn his back on her to save his own Luna. Days later, their paths cross again, but this time Alia is nowhere near accepting him. Gavin's battle to win his mate's heart is full of obstacles and problems, but love always wins in the end.
Things I loved in this book:
- The story was full of emotions. I truly felt for poor Gavin, who did his duty, lost his mate in the process, and then really tried to be heard and explain, but Alia, argh, that Alia never listened. It's the only main lead of Cassandra whom I want to slap so badly.
- Even though I knew the plot, the story kept me going. There was no dull moment.
- The spice was extra hot and perfect.
- One thing I love the most is that Cassandra leaves hints for her next books. I won't mention Aaron, I can't wait to read his book, but I'll stick to a comment Stella (Gavin's mother) made. Being aware of the 2nd generation and the struggles Tyler (Alia's and Gavin's son) had to endure because of her. I put the blame on you, Grandma Stella, for my poor boy!!! I'm being bad here, I know, but I can't help it.
All in all, it's a great book. Paranormal and all-romance lovers should read it!

I absolutely loved this book! This is not a standalone but connected in an amazing series so far, only second one in but it blew me away! Alia and Gavin are fated wolf shifters but miscommunication and trust throws them for a wild and heart breaking ride. It was emotional and I felt for both characters.
I loved that there was also POVs from other characters in the series and it starts hinting towards the Gamma at the end and his story is yet to come.
This was a full bodied read, there's a constant pace about it, which makes this a longer read than a standard fast read or smaller book- means you get to indulge in more reading, more amazing storyline and lose a few days to this book overall.
The characters are dynamic, they're challenging especially to each other but then they compliment the best of each other, they test the boundaries of fated mates.
Alia is beautiful, somewhat shy and sheltered Alpha female. Her brother seems rather oblivious to the challenges she faces as a young female shifter.
Gavin is a playboy beta who doesn't leave a good first impression on his fated mate at the dreaded Claiming.
He is aloof to say the least, he has much to learn about being a mate, and not hurting your mate.

I bought the Paperback when that was first released a couple of years ago and now I got the chance to also do the ARC for the kindle version.
„The Beta is mine“ is the second installement in the Black Shadow Pack Series.
In the first book in the series we learned that Gavin had to stall for his Alpha so he could make it in time for that horrifying claiming ritual.
There Beta Gavin met his fated mate the sister of Alpha Caspian of the neighboring pack. So as to not let his Alpha down, he ignored his mate and signed up for Clair‘s claiming.
After the happy ending for Clair and Jake he focuses all his energy on gaining his mates trust back and claim his fated mate, his other half of his soul. Of course they have to master a few hurdles and insecurities. And there have been more than ones that my heart hurt and nearly stopped (but that is just proof for the talent of Cassandra).
It takes Gavin some time in convincing Alia that she is everything that he ever wanted.
I love this book just as much as every book in this series. They just keep getting better and better.
So go read it! Start with „He‘s my Alpha“ and than go straight to this one! Amazing storyline by an equally amazong author!!

Cassandra M. does an incredible job crafting him as both deeply loyal and genuinely good-hearted. His devotion to his Alpha and Luna never wavers, even when it costs him something profoundly personal: his bond with his mate, Alia.
It’s honestly heartbreaking to watch Alia misinterpret Gavin’s choice not to claim her when he first senses the bond. But that’s exactly what makes this story hit so hard—there’s no easy resolution. Not only does the author tell an amazing story, she also brings in side characters that feel like they need their own books.

Beta Gavin is as loyal as can be to his Alpha and Luna. As a beta, you want him on your side. But his loyalty and need to uphold his duty is what ends up starting this messy ride from the start. His fated mate, Alia, was definitely at the wrong place at the wrong time. Not a fun way to start and meet your fated. But, the question is, can Gavin prove to her he’s just as devoted to his mate as he is to his Alpha. And will Alia be open to listening to him?
So I have to admit, I have a thing for the betas. So many stories I read I end up crushing on the betas. I mean, how can you not?! Beta Gavin is charming and loyal to a fault. He will do anything for his Alpha and Luna. But Alia needs to see that and see that Gavin will go above and beyond for her as well. Neither of them are innocent in all this. It was not an easy ride because of the bumps along the wide. They learned, they grew, and became stronger together. But all throughout the story, you can definitely feel the love on both sides.
Also, one thing wonderful about Cassandra M's stories are the side characters. They are there to make the story more engaging without overpowering the main characters. In the end, you grew more attached to the series and that's what Cass did perfectly the Black Shadow Pack. Once you read, you can never go back.

The Beta is Mine is the second instalment of Cassandra M‘s Black Shadow Park series and like the debut to the series it does not disappoint.
This story involves Beta Gavin and his fated mate Lady Alia who’s romance unfortunately gets off on the wrong footing when their paths collide at the “Claiming”. They eyes fall on one another from across the room in that special moment where they should claim each other as “Mate/Mine” but the gallant and devoted Beta choses his duty to his Alpha over claiming his mate.
Beta Gavin walks away deciding to sacrifice his lamb (Alia) in his attempts to bide time for Alpha Jake to show up to save and claim his mate, Lady Clair.
Lady Alia is heartbroken at seeing her mate walk away from her and doesn’t understand why the fairy-tale dream of meeting your mate and being claimed has been shattered by the one person that was made for her. She puts on a brave face as she watches her mate fight at the “Claiming” for Lady Clair who she thinks is his chosen mate.
If you think that was the only bump in their romance, then think again.
They started off on rocky ground, and throughout the story it continued to be a struggle for them both with the lack of communication and misunderstandings between them which did not help with Lady Alia being young, naïve, and stubborn. Not that Beta Gavin didn’t have his faults as jealousy on both sides also contributed to them falling out. Their romance was an emotional rollercoaster ride of will they or won’t they get their HEA.
I am not afraid to admit that I did cry during this book and if you have read it then I have no doubt you will know which parts I cried at.
No spoilers as I don’t want to ruin anyone’s experience of this amazing love story. So, what are you waiting for go grab yourself a hot beverage, get comfy and grab yourselves a copy of this paranormal romance that will not disappoint.

The book The Beta is Mine doesn't disappoint!! It's the second book in The Shadow Pack series written by author Cassandra M, who is an excellent writer and author! She leads you on an up and down roller coaster journey with the characters in the book, especially of course, the main characters, Gavin and Alia! She has a way of writing that pulls you into the story so that you feel and experience
"everything" the characters do!! I know that I did! I laughed and I cried! My heart broke and rejoiced! Felt disappointment and hope!
Unfortunately, their story starts off on a wrong note, and the misunderstandings and misconceptions etc keep them from completely being together! But don't worry they do have an HEA! I can't really say much else without spoiling the story, but if you love the Paranormal and Werewolves you will love this book! Being about the beta of the pack, this is one of the books that catched my attention, in the beginning reading about Alia, the alpha female which her fated mate broke her heart when he chose to claim another female right in front of her.
Alia would test Gavin's limits until they couldn't be separated from each other. He would be the one who will show her the life from a different perspective, the one letting her explore.

A definitive must read. In book 2 of the Black Shadow Pack series, Beta Gavin and Lady Alia have their own story. You can read it as a standalone but is interconnected to the previous book and you might want to catch up with the caracteres. As in any of Casssandra’s M books, this one have HEA but the main characters will have to venture their fated bond. Alia is very naive and was sheltered all her life, she will question the moon goddess choice for Gavin as her mate and that will lead to very complicated consequences.

Full of twists and turns, heartbreak and healing, friendship and love. Beta Gavin is the most loyal, loving and caring beta. One of my favourites. Alia seems spoiled at first but she grows on you. She is my favourite character for her growth and development. I am so proud of her. Together they are an awesome pair!
Cassandra M is one of my most favourite Authors. All of her books are absolutely amazing. If you are a fan of wolf or supernatural stories then Cassandra M's books are a must read. You are truly missing out to not experience her wonderful world.

The Beta Is Mine is book two of the Black Shadow Pack Series.
Won't lie, Alia was kind of annoying for a lot of this book. However, she is only eighteen and has lived a very sheltered life, so she is naive and immature about a lot of things. Gavin is a Beta who makes some good/bad decisions which cause Alia a lot of pain. I say good as he ends up sacrificing his happiness with Alia in order to save Claire from the events in the first book. This causes a lot of miscommunication and pain between these two characters.
We learn a lot of about bonds between mates in this one. Seeing how their bond can go through everything it did and still somehow fight and remain in the game, gives hope for the future for any pair in this world.

Cassandra’s writing style is really good. I love the cliffhangers but won’t leave you dry after a few chapters. The love written is so well expressed that you can actually feel it. I hope someday they can turn the series into a movie or show. That would be so amazing. :)

Cassandra has written a whole wonderful series with this being the second book. I love each and every story and enjoy being able to follow all the characters and now their kids. Gavin and Alia have such a special story and it amazing how Cass keeps coming up with different plot lines for everyone in this amazing world.

I loved this book which is the second book in this series. It’s just as good as the first book but introduces the twist and turn of the next male lead in the group of friends. I would definitely recommend, have a go I promise you won’t be disappointed ❤️

This is story is the second book of the Black Shadow Pack series, and like the first one, Cass did not disappoint. The story started with what we already knew happened at the first book where Beta Gavin turned his back to his beautiful mate so he could save his future Luna. With this decision, Gavin jeopardize his chance to be accepted by his mate.
Alia thought he didn't want her and he was only running after her because Clair ended up with someone else. The misunderstanding is the biggest issue at the first half of the book but the we couldn't deny the chemistry between them. Alia is naive when it comes to being intimate with someone and Gavin is the exact opposite, so everytime they touch, it's an explosion! The first book of the series is steamy, but this one is steamier and I love it. Before I forget, bring in some tissues! I cried hard, twice!

It can be read as a standalone, although reading Book 1 first will provide a better understanding.
The Beta is Mine is just a phenomenal book all around. I have previously read this, and will continue to reread in the future.
The dynamics between this adorable duo - MMC Beta Gavin and FMC Alia, is far from a fairytale. Beta Gavin has to make the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty, that will have devastating consequences for them both.
Miscommunication, jumping to conclusions, and a lack of trust only serve to make matters more complicated.
Cassandra M has masterfully created a captivating shifter universe that will continue to endear itself to you as the story unfolds.
