About the author

Julia Boehme studierte nach dem Abitur Literatur- und Musikwissenschaften in Berlin und arbeitete dann als Redakteurin. Bereits während dieser Zeit schrieb sie zahlreiche Beiträge für Zeitungen und Radiosender.

Im Anschluss an ihr Studium arbeitete sie als Redakteurin beim Kinderfernsehen, wo sie unter anderem die Sendung Käpt’n Blaubär betreute.

Seit 2000 ist Boehme als freie Autorin tätig und hat ihren Beruf als Redakteurin aufgegeben. Sie lebt heute mit ihrer Familie in Berlin. Nach ihren Werken aus der Anfangszeit entwickelte sie sich zu einer ernst zu nehmenden Schriftstellerin. Ihre Conni-Bücher sind auch psychologisch durchdachte Werke, die Konflikte und Konfliktlösungen aus der Lebenswelt der Kinder darstellen und reflektieren.

I lilke this book because the author can express the feelings so well that I have the feelings that I 'am sitting there ,write on the place where everything happens and I watch evrything.This book is about a girl named Conni,who is going to have her birthday in a thursday.Now,you think,I play soccer on thursday that is great!But for conni,the thurday is the dat that her mother ah to work untill five o'clock.Connis mother is a docter for children.Norma;y she comes home just and moment before Conni and her little brothet jakob come back from scholl(and jakob comes back from Kindergarten),but on thursday,on thursday everything is diferent!Connis mother has to work every thursday 2 hours longer than normally.At first Conni thinks this is allright but then she discovers that her birthday,tht her birthday is on a thursday!That is impossible!!!!!!Her mother tells her that she could have her party on a saturday,but Conni diagrees about that!She wants to have her party on her birthday!On the day she is going to turn 10!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Conni is very very miserable the next day at school.She tells her friends that she will HAVE TO HAVE her birthday an a saturday!Oh,no!That is the day that Connis best friend will visit her granparents,becaue they are now amrried for 50 years.This is connis horror!!!!!!!!She came to school is a bad mood,and came back from school with a even worst mood!She did not know that her parents had a surprise for her.inally it is Connis birthday,but she dose not feel the feeling in her belly that she normally has when she has irthday.She goes to school in no good mood,she >>she gets home in an even worst mood!<<,you will think now,but...Conni didn't even come home!At the schooldoor,Jakob,Connis litle brother was waiting.Acctually she had topick him up..but....There was Connis mother!She laughed at her daughter and sayed:>>happy birthday Conni!<
