200 pages collection of Digital Art, pencils, sketches and digital painting processes done by the artist Javier This Artbook is included in Allwë Soul & Sword - Full Edition.
An absolutely awful 'interpretation' of what ideal fantasy 'art' should look like. But its low-grade, of low-interest, and bare of any substantial description or nourishing background of the work's inspiration or other—potentially—things that could stir interest.
(If you like fantasy books, please, skip this one completely.)
The sketches were gorgeous and the anatomy was excellent. I feel like more beginning sketches would have been good to understand further the construction of the characters. + in my opinion this book didn’t represent the overall art of fantasy (not enough creativity and explanation)
I have nothing to say about the story that this art book was behind, as I never read it, but I have stuff to say about the way it all looked. The background was distracting. The editor could not make up their mind about whether they were okay with drawings touching the edge of page or not. However, the overlapping of sketches was done well and I liked the border details and how comitted it was. Seeing all of the chapters in roman numerals was annoying, but it seems like that was not really up to the makers of the book. I will not read the original work, since I have gathered a bit of the plot from what I saw and what I saw did not make me happy. Pretty okay art book tho.
I enjoyed the art and sketches. It's a bittersweet visual story. No need for words. I suppose one cannot always expect happy endings.
I had obtained the digital edition from a recommendation on my kindle home page. This is one that you need a physical copy of. Need to check it out. It would be a great addition next to my Boris Vallejo and Luis Royo art books.
Love the art in here. Especially the sketch section. The book is a story told through only picture. Only the "chapters" are worded. It is not an erotic/art book like you might be thinking from the cover.
There are lots of fantasy art but not much detail about what inspired his style and techniques. The colour palette is very dark, it suits this subject matter.
This art book is set up for the pictures to tell a story.. There is a section of the finished art and another section with sketches and commentary. I did read this on my kindle which is not my recommended way of looking at art books. The larger book will always allow you to see more detail.
Bought by accident, hit the wrong tab. A bit interesting I how he did the artwork especially the series of sketches to create a character. I know nothing of art so it was new to me
Utterly boringly repetitious. I have had the pleasure of many fantasy art works, this is not one of them. This is definitely at the bottom of the pile. Thank goodness I didn't pay too much for this book. The best piece of art work was the front cover.
