I kind of like to think of myself as a normal lady living a semi normal life. I’m not sure that’s all that accurate; I have a sweet husband and two dogs-my girls- that I think of as my children. I grew up in Sonoma County, California and I never pictured myself moving. Funny because now I live in North Idaho and I love it here, I love the summers; camping, bar-b-ques with friends, and the farmers markets. I find the winter magical and love the snow. I started writing as a hobby. I’ve been one of those people who has been obsessed with the world of the paranormal for as long as I can remember. I self published my first book in August of 2011 at my husbands’ urging.
Sophia’s story was truly meant for me at the beginning. Now I love that I chose to share these characters with everyone who’s chosen to read about them. I love these characters. They hold a special part of me and represent the strength and knowledge that comes with never giving up. of course I’m biased.
As for me personally, I’m not one who ever really shared much of my own story, however not long ago I finally shared my story with the fans who followed my Facebook page Magen McMinimy Author Page so I figure my story is out there for the world to read so I might as well share it here . . .
Like I said I grew up in California, I was born in Santa Rosa, Ca on April 19th 1983, I had a simple and pretty good childhood with a rather great family. I have wonderful parents and a pretty great sister( I didn’t always think so as I was growing up, but now I know the simple pleasures of having a sister as my best friend, she also gave me my nephew Asher who I adore). When I was nine I was diagnosed with Sarcoidosis, I was fortunate enough that it didn’t affect any of my major organs, but on the flip side of that it was in my eyes.
When I was around the age of twelve, I was given the diagnosis of secondary glaucoma. At thirteen I had my first in a fairly long line of surgeries to help control the pressures and remove the cataracts in my eyes.
When I turned twenty-one I took the first step of a major life change and moved to Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. I left a lot of amazing friends and an amazing extended family. I met my now husband a few months after the move and was married to him in June of 2006. In 2008 I finished college and became a wedding planner. I love a good party and I live to decorate and make things beautiful and amazing for those around me.
In April of 2010 I woke up one morning with no vision in my right eye, I got an appointment with a specialist and found out I had blood vessels growing in the back of my eye that led to nowhere and were steadily bleeding. I underwent treatments and we got the bleeding under control and eventually stopped completely. But not before some major damage had been done. My doctor got me on the road to getting some help and I work each day with a small amount of remaining vision in my left eye.
So why do I tell you all of this? I tell you all because this is who I am, and those of you taking the time to read this have probably read at least one of my books and because of that you’ve helped to make this dream of writing and reaching out to others who love books, and vampires, and shifters and all things gorgeous and sexy . . . come true!
Life is a constant balance of what we want and what we need. It's also a lot like a Battle. A battle that we all have to fight in our own way. I chose to try and love and cherish every minute that I get to chase my crazy dreams and create a world and characters to get lost in.
McMinimy has done it again. I love her take on wereanimals, mages, vamps and the like. She dives right back in where she left off in Primal Hunger. Lots of tension, magic, and mystery. Savannah is pissed when Andre finally gets back, and he's still trying to do the right thing in his mind. The question is, will they figure out what that is? Not only that, but what dark magic is trying to push it's way into the pack's border? This was a great addition to the world McMinimy has built.
I was very anxious for this latest entry in the North American Pack series. I absolutely love Andre's character. He and Savannah make a great couple, who struggle through misunderstanding, heartache, and evil. There is suspense and mystery throughout, and I couldn't stop reading. (Let's not forget the steamy scenes, either.) Each of McMinimy's books seems to get better than the one before, and I recommend this one highly.
Is there a way to give this book six out of five stars? Because that’s what I want to do. As second in the North American Pack series, Primal Calling is full of drama, action, romance, and supernatural danger. Everything I love in a book, and more!
It’s been four months since the last book, and Andre Da’Roza is grieving over having to leave Savannah. Savannah equally is grieving, though her process involves more anger than Andre’s. When they are forced back to each other, what will fly? Clothes or claws? But there’s no time for that (what am I saying? Of COURSE there’s time for that!) as a new threat comes to the North American Pack’s Montana Faction, putting not only Andre and Savannah in danger, but all of the pack. Forcing their issues aside, they have to work together to fix things before it hits the fan in a seriously messy way.
There’s a little bitterness in me about this book, since it’s the LAST of the series…which makes me sad and glad at the same time. Sad because it’s over and glad because it ended on a very high note. Though I’d definitely love more of these characters, the ending is as it should be. But should they ever come back I’d LOVE to read more!
Magen did an awesome job with this book ,just like with all her others. I recommend this book to anyone who likes paranormal and romance, but also action. There is always something sinister going on and you won't want to miss the conclusion to Andre's story.
Andre ends up going back to the pack after leaving for a while. He and Savannah are not on the best term, which makes it difficult for them to work together, but when a dark magic threatens their pack they team up to defeat the evil.
What I found was the biggest issue between Andre and Savannah was their stubbornness. Neither wanted to be the first to put their heart and emotions out there, both worried about rejection. Once the situation is a little more dire secrets come out
When things go down Andre’s family can’t help but come give their support bringing everyone together again.
The thing about these books is every part of the story is important, and can give away too much. So what I’ll do is add some teasers to give a little something.
Such a great ending to Andre and Savannah's story. This book picks up right where Primal Hunger left off with Andre's story. Andre goes through a lot in this stroy. He finds ust how powerful and strong he is. Savannah also learns a lot.
The pack needs to be saved from dark magic that is causing a terrible thing to happen. Along with the death of a member. One kitsune sister is at the center of it all.
I still want more of all of Magen's paranormals. She just sucks you in to the stories and you get hooked on them.
