This is the third book in the Rachel Markham Mystery series and is probably the best of the three. While in the first 2 books of the series, the author includes redundant adjectives/adverbs, repeats sentences with only slight variations, and does a poor imitation of Jane Austin's style of verbosity, in this book the writing seems to have improved with practice.
motive is the key to solving pretty Kitty's murder. set just after India gained its independence...exotic majaharas and a snobby maharini...British raj...plain Jane sister...and what happened to that marvelous necklace kitty wore that night?
