Escape the trials, lose the crown—or rebel, risking everything to save the realm.
I've exposed the queen for the tyrant she is. Now it's time to show the kingdom of Embermere who I am.
A rebellion has been gathering force against the queen. It needs only a spark to gain momentum. It needs the secret heir.
First, I must survive the Wilds—savage, brutal, and even more dangerous than the queen herself. No one enters its ancient, slithering forests unless they have no better choice.
Joined by dragon-shifter Xeno, dragonling Saffron, goblin Pru, and fellow fae-trial contenders, I’m not alone. But every shadow in the Wilds crawls with horrible, giant monsters. Out here, we’re no longer just trained warriors. We’re prey.
It’s more important than ever that I unearth the power that simmers in my veins so I can return to the palace and claim my royal birthright.
I once thought the drake Rush Vega was my ally. Even worse, I believed him to be my mate.
But then he committed the ultimate betrayal. He broke what can never be mended. Once the queen’s spy, forever my enemy.
Whatever it takes, whomever I must fight, I’ll end her wicked games and free her subjects.
The mirror world might not have been my home to start, but I’m not quitting until I save it.

This book was pretty disappointing. Nothing really happened and if you removed this book the plot and progress would essentially stay the same. It picks up right after the last one and is very character and dialogue driven. They deal with the trauma of what happened in the last book as you would obviously have to but nothing else really happens, and there is very little progress plot wise. I really enjoyed the first two books but I don’t see what the point of this one is. This could all have happened within a few chapters of the next book if she had started with a bit more time lapsing from the previous book. It really did not need its own book. The dialogue itself was kind of off putting and I found myself only able to finish the book with the accessibility feature that allows it to read aloud.
Not sure if I’m going to finish the series, this book kind of undid all the character buildup and likable-ness the last two books had.
Really tired of giving these books chances. The dialogue is almost like walking in circles and redundant. All three books are different variations of the same problem with the most painstakingly slow progress. The timeline is dragging on at a snails pace. The book had great potential but I think I’ve had enough of this series as a whole.
It's an okay story. I find it is too drawn out and I'm struggling to finish. I won't remember the characters or storyline when the next book comes out. I had to go back and reread the last two to "remember" what this story was about. I don't think the story needs so many books to tell.
Honestly this book was just as mediocre as the first two prior in the series. I not only felt a strong disconnect from the characters, but also from the world and basic plot. The dragon lore was truely the only part that kept me reading… bottom line I don’t recommend. 2/5 stars
The queen seems to know everything and keeps growing more powerful. It's frustrating.
This was my least favorite book of the series, mainly because I can't stand Rush. I can't stand his groveling to the queen and how he will bed her or others if it will make him the heir. It makes me think he's a pathetic puke. Is it too late to make Xeno the hero?
I have adored this series since Elowyn and Rush roared off the page. I was worried how the last book left things, but I should have had more faith in the author. Ms. Ashta, deftly wove together the stories while the characters were driven apart by the mechanizations of the evil queen, stupid geography, and Rush's hubris.
In many ways, this book is like if Hunger Games and Alice and Wonderland had a baby and promptly dropped it on its head. The magic driving the story was as much a factor as the Evil Queen holding a court of chaos. With every revelation showing the depths of depravity and vindictiveness that her villain will joyfully descend to, Ms. Ashta has created a villain who is in a class of spitefulness, pettiness, and vengeance that a mere human should not have the sheer amount of years on the earth, nor the moral depravity to aspire to.
I love how the author has, especially in this series, flipped the hero/heroine roles on their head. Elowyn has a very strong moral compass that is constantly battered against the brick wall of craziness that is the Queen. While Rush, the hero is trying to out-manipulate and out-plot a woman who is the personification of Evil Chaos.
Bring on the Nuptialis Probatio..... I can't wait to see where Ms. Ashta takes us next!
This short and sweet bridge between books two and four in the Royals of Embermere series brought ALL the feels! I was more than happy to discover that this book did not drag out Elowyn and Rush's separation and, more so, that their reunion was quite unexpected in the best of ways
My entire soul was SO freaking glad that El didn't give Rush the run-around for too long, and that we finally got to see the SPICE that I love in my Romantasy books 🌶️ Though, I have to admit, I am a bit worried about where the next book will lead, knowing that Rush is already preparing to serve the queen in the most despicable of ways in order to save Elowyn. My soul will be in pieces if Rush has to give up that part of himself as a sacrifice for his mate 💔
In spite of these worries, I was PUMPED to see Elowyn develop and grow into her "faeness," newfound magic, and her FREAKING AMAZING connection to the dragons 🐉 Saffy is absolutely adorable throughout this entire installment and I cannot get enough of their bond with one another. Not to mention, seeing Rush defend and protect the dragons just makes me love his character even more ❤️
Now, the time has come for me to read on to "Fae Crown," with the hope that we all will come out the other side without the brokenness that has been foreshadowed...😟

One thing I really enjoy about these books is they pick up right where the last one ended. If you're lucky enough to not have to wait for the next book, it's like reading just one really long book. Sadly, I am not that lucky.
I was hesitant about this one at first because I didn't really only want to read about Elowyn and her adventures in the Wilds. I wanted more Rush. Luckily, it's like Ashta read my mind because that's exactly what she's given us, pretty much alternating POVs between them!
For me, the plot seemed to drag a little as things were set up, but once the action, in both POVs begins, then the book really moves. Ashta also does a good job of keeping you reading by making small cliffhanger chapter endings and then switching POVs, so "just one more chapter" isn't always enough.
I found myself wondering how many books this series would be, or if the next book would be the final one. Guess we'll have to see.
This Series had me hooked from the start. A heroine who has her wits about her; she was raised around dragons and could fight like a warrior. Each one of these books has made me fall in love with the characters even more. A baby dragon, a hero that does everything it takes to save his mate, a dragon shifter who is both fierce and beautiful at the same time. Warriors that fight so well together to try to make things right. There are twists to this one that I really love. Without giving anything away, I’ll say there is abundant magic and more dragons. The evil Queen is even worse in this one. I’m loving this Series. It has everything. Dragons, Fae, Magic, Action, Friendships, Romance. True mates- I may have shouted out loud, cried… so very Happy to see El and Rush meet up again. The scenes are so good! It is so well written I feel like I am right beside the characters fighting ugly beasts and feeling the anguish of needing to end the life the aweful Fae Queen. Cannot wait for the next one!
This novel started right after the cliffhanger enducing events of Fae Champion. Our main characters are split and each dealing with the physical and emotional trauma of their last interaction in front of the (hell yes, I’m gonna say it) evil Queen. Elowyn and her small loyal pack of new allies are traversing the wilds - facing literal monsters and danger at every turn, but also discovering some epically important truths about Elowyn, her heritage, and what it might mean for all of them. Meanwhile, Rush and his fellow drakes are fighting almost as dangerous a game in the court. While there are immediately visible dangers there, the Queen also plays a dirty game of blackmail, seduction, and lies… peril can be found at every turn in this book. The tension never drops. The revelations are impressive and have potentially staggering consequences. Did I mention there’s also dragons? I picked this one up and finished it in two sittings… and had that moment about two chapters from the end where I realized there was no way things were going to end here. Thank God and Lucia Ashta 😂 that the next book will be out this summer. I can’t wait long for what’s coming next!!!
wow this book was amazing. i can't believe the big cliffhanger she left us with at the end of the last book. I couldn't start this book fast enough. Its the fastest book ive read so far in this series, i didn't want to put it down. I loved how so much action and suspense there was while rush and elowyn were apart. I also move all El's apecisl expressions and phrases she uses for the queen and the mirror world. The characters are getting stronger now and i think El is the key to the queens demise. The queen really neeeds to die after everything she has done. And there is still the suspense of the fae heir trials left to complete and El has to fight the other competiters. The auther is developing and tying the story together very well. It seems there is hope for the mirror world yet. So i really hope the next book comes out soon.
Fae Exile was literally Unputdownable…. From the dangers in the Wilds to the dangers at Court, our mated couple has probably their biggest challenge with the next phase of the fae heir trials, the Nuptialis Probation. This is the part where all the women of the court fight to earn their place as Rush’s wife. Even though Elowyn is his mate and has his heart, the magic won’t let them go until the trials have concluded. Who knows how many deadly obstacles will meet El head on? Will Rush and El be successful in releasing the dragons…will the evil queen finally be outsmarted and outpowered…. All answers to come. I can’t wait!!
Seriously! Ok. There’s some serious surprises I wasn’t expecting. There’s a lot of dark and not nice in here but the good- boy it sure is bright and beautiful. I wasn’t sure there was hope for rush and elowyn… but… maybe… ima keep hoping because I need both of them to have the happy ending. And I want Xeno to have one too. And Pru. And Roan and Fin, and rush’s 3 besties. And our best little dragonling. I absolutely am salivating for book 4. I need the queen to die horribly. I need the king to do something with himself. I need those two idiots that are the queens two right hand men to get exactly what they’ve given. Times 3. Do yourself a favor and grab this series.
What a wild, crazy and angsty ride, a total rollercoaster of emotions! 💔😭😍❤️ I went from hating Rush, to love him again 😁... it was hard for Elowyn to understand his reasons, her trust and heart were shattered when she was stabbed; but it really was not other way and now that they all know the evil queen real reach and inmense power, they must overcome their doubts and mistrust and work together to defeat her. #strongertogether 💪🏻👊🏻💞 Will they be able to do it? 🤔😧🤞🏻🙌🏻 God, can't wait to read the next book, I know is going to be epic! 🖤
When we met Elowyn I knew she was going to be a new friend. I could not put this book down. I can not believe we are now three books in. Elowyn and Rush have not disappointed in any aspect. They have both fought long and hard to get somewhere in life. What that is we still don't know. That is the beauty of this book. The fight for the greater good is beyond what they have to do. They have to find a balance of good and evil. I don't know how long of a wait I can take to get more of this story.
Thought books one & two were good? Well wait till you read this latest addition. We carry on from that crazy ending in book two as we follow Elowyn into the scary wilds. With danger lurking round every corner, our heroine and friends must battle to survive. Fae, dragon shifters, goblins and a baby dragon, they stand by Elowyn in this captivating and enthralling adventure brimming with action, magic, drama, betrayal, monsters and so much more.
It took me a while to get back into the story, and I was more interested in Elowyns journey than what was happening back at the palace. Stabbing his mate was a terrible choice and had dire consequences. I thought that Rush played it safe most of the time, but towards the end, he finally started to take a few chances. The dragon connection was an interesting development that I look forward to reading more about.
This story continues on from where it left off. Rush stabbed Arowyn in the heart at the end of the last book. They are mates and he hoped to protect her from the dark Queen. She obviously feels betrayed. She’s sent off near death to the Wildes and has to stay alive. Nothing goes right. No one can win against the Queen. The next set of the trials officially start and some surprises happen. I enjoy this story but I feel there are a lot of holes.
I love it when you can read from other characters point of view. However, I ended up speed reading through this one. I didn't see why we had to have the characters go through the Wilds. I found myself getting annoyed by how much power the queen keeps getting. It feels like there's a hole in the story line with the dragon blood. Did I miss the thread from book 1 and 2? I'm not sure if I'm going to read book 4
This wasn’t as good as the other books in my opinion but had such good potential. The wilds could’ve been played out more i think but the bit we did get was pretty interesting. I kept getting very annoyed with the MMC when he was around the queen but around his friends i still enjoyed his personality. I expected a little more from this book. i might wait to finish the rest of the series until it all comes out on audible.
I really enjoyed the first and second books in this series. Unfortunately, this book was so dialogue heavy it was borderline unbearable to get through. I found myself skimming more than half of it.
The FMC still acts like a clueless brat. The MMC is still kind of pathetic. The evil queen is well... more evil. Nothing's changed. I doubt I'll finish this series if the reviews for the final books are dreadful as well.

Absolutely edge of your seat phenomenal!! The tale continues to enthrall the audience! We’ve come to love and believe in the characters, invested so extensively with the characters many of us are contemplating leaping the cliffhanger to beg for the conclusion of this epic love story! A must read if ever there was one!!
Elowyn and Rush’s story continues and it is riveting. This book is the best in the series so far. It is so well written and I have no idea how the evil queen will be defeated. There are dragons, unknown magic, weird and scary creatures, mates, and floating eye balls. It’s just incredibly imaginative and a great overall story.
Finished this book in 3 hours….. I have been waiting for the third book for what seemed like ages…. Watching El come into her confidence, is amazing…. And Rush groveling is a nice touch also…. Now I’m in agony for the next book!
This book was good, but it’s really just a setup for the 4th and (better be) final book in the series. I’m excited to see how it comes together in the last book, as you do actually really like these characters and want them to prevail.
