Kadi Dillon was born and raised in a small town in Oklahoma. She's always been a writer, but aspires to be a bestseller. She spends her days creating new characters and raising two unruly boys. She is married to her high school sweetheart. Together, they still live close to home.
The only similarities between Storm Warning and the movie Twister are the storms... I say this because Twister is one of my favorite movies; I know it forward and back.
This book is VERY good. I highly recommend it. Only an idiot would focus on the tiny similarity to Twister.
This is a quick, fun read...a lovely little romance. I picked it up free but it is so worth buying if you love a good romance.
Tory is a storm chaser who agrees fund their team's season of tornado hunting by taking on a photographer who is willing to pay for the ride. Gabe is the famous, hot photographer who pays for a tornado chase; he plans to sell the photos. The sparks fly between Tory and Gabe, and soon they become lovers. But Gabe is unsure of how Tory really feels for him. Will Tory open herself up for love? And will Gabe stick around after tornado season for Tory?
I really enjoy romances and weather stories so this was a great mix. Love scenes were medium on the sensual scale, pretty hot but not erotic.
This was a great book, and I would definitely read another book from this author.
2.5 stars = pretty good. There were a few things that kept me from a solid 'I liked it' on this kindle freebie: leading lady Tory's ex and his brother need to go to jail - I can't believe she didn't press charges for multiple 'incidents' and leading man Gabe is pretty high handed (which seem like warning signs of an abuser when laid side by side with Tory's ex's behavior). What I did like was the idea of the Storm Chasers and the damaged Tory who is trying to atone for something that was not at all her fault.
I wanted to like this. I wanted to like this SO SO SO hard. And I could have. I almost could have. If I wasn't reminded painfully of Bill Paxton and Helen Hunt constantly.
I highly recommend Storm Warning. I love this story. The length of the book is short for me, but that does not detract from this story. The storyline move nicely and the characters are well developed. It takes a special talent to be able to delve into the area of how hidden scars can shade everything that comes after. Ms. Dillon has that talent. I will defintely be grabbing more of her books.
Great short love story. The writing drew me in from the beginning. I started reading mid-afternoon & didn 19t put it down till I was done that evening. Great combination of love, lust & excitement. Though it was a novella, the story was not rushed or incomplete. I highly recommend for a short romantic read.
