Alaska's Lady is book 2 in the Reapers Wolves Mountain MC Series by Hallie Bennett and is a spinoff in the Suitor's Crossing world.
Alaska is a veteran returning home to his MC, to face the damage his father did when he betrayed the club. When he stops off for dinner he finds a beautiful yet innocent Faith witnessing a wild bar fight and helps to get her safely out and back to her hotel. Faith, a preachers kid, far enough from home to feel brave and feeling attracted to Alaska, invites him into her room.
Faith is sure she made the right decision, taking control of her virtue, but afterward, she feels guilty. She leaves before Alaska wakes up, so he only knows her first name. But he is determined to find her.
Her father and his congregation have some very close minded patriarchal views. Sadly for Faith and a few of the other younger women in the church, their lives have not been easy or pleasant. While this is not fun to read, sadly there are always going to be men who use religion to control women. I thought the way Hallie separated them from being close minded bullies and being real Christians was well done.
The MC Prez thinks if they attend the church, (his wife wants to attend church), that the congregation will be able to get to know them and their attitude will change. When they pull up, Faith can hear the bikes, and is afraid, Alaska walks in and sees Faith, unwilling to let Faith slip away again he walks up to her, puts her over his shoulder, and walks out! I couldn’t stop laughing, it was an awesome scene in the book. From there is just gets better, steamy reunions, kidnapping, cops, protesters, plot twists, You’ll be hooked through the last page!
This book has such a great story, with wonderful characters and lots of chemistry and steamy scenes. I am so thrilled that we’re getting another ‘Heart Spark’ series, I can’t wait for the next one.
