Wanted is the twelfth in the series of Jess Williams western books. In Wanted, Jess is hunting down more bad men for the bounty on their heads. He runs into a young boy hell bent on killing the man who killed his father. After Jess helps the young boy, he continues his work as a bounty hunter, but suddenly he finds out that three United States Marshals have a warrant out on Jess and are looking for him.
Jess is now a wanted man because a Judge by the name of Winston Bottoms wants to question Jess about the deaths of Henry and Thomas Stidham in New York City.
Jess finally agrees to meet Judge Winston Bottoms, but only on Jess' terms. The meeting is about to go badly when suddenly, Judge Bottoms finds out that his sister, Callie, has been kidnapped by the Holden brothers, and they want to exchange her for their brother Bob Holden, who is in the Dodge City jail waiting to swing from a rope.
Judge Bottoms agrees to cancel the warrant on Jess as long as Jess goes and rescues the Judge's sister, Callie, who is being held in a canyon by eleven men. Jess has to find a way to get her out alive or the Judge will swear a new warrant out on Jess' arrest, dead or alive.

In 1990 Robert J. Thomas was sworn in as the full time mayor for the city of Westland, Michigan. He served twelve years, making him the longest serving mayor in Westland's history.
While he was mayor he wrote his first book titled, How to Run for Local Office, which has now sold over 25,000 copies worldwide.
He has written and published on Kindle, the Jess Williams Westerns series. Retired, he now lives in Mississippi with his wfe Jill.
Good shoot 'em up western with Jess Williams the bounty hunter.
A circuit judge wants to know why Jess never brings the murderers he chases down back alive. This leads to a pretty good chase in itself with lots of bad guys pushing up daisies.
Jess Williams wanted by the law? A warrant had been put on Jess by a two Federal judges who wanted to knock Jess down a few notches. But little did Judge Bottoms know that he would need the help of Jess to rescue his kidnapped sister Callie from the Holden Gang. Jess was also responsible for the death of Slinky Johnson a murderer, robber, rapist and any other depravity you can think of. This Slinky Johnson a cold blooded murderer had killed Rick's father in the local saloon. When Slinky was finally caught, Jess asked him why he shoot the boys father? Rick's reply was"because I can," so without any more fan flare, Jess sent him on his way to "HADES" ticket free. Is Jess Williams a complicated man? I don't think so, he's a man who views life as either black or white. There isn't any doubts in his mind about the psychopathic men and sometimes women who need to be removed from this earth. They aren't worthy of the air they are allowed to inhale THERE'S ENOUGH SADNESS AND DEPRAVITY IN THIS WORLD..Jess just deletes these types..
Well now I found out how he got his badge. He can turn those times he finds himself in a fix. He helps people as much as he kills the bad ones.Enjoy folks. Start from book one. JD.
Jess is summoned to talk with a judge. During the meeting, A message is delivered to the judge. A criminal gang has kidnapped his sister. Jess leads the hunt to rescue the woman.
I hadn’t left any specific review to books 1-11, but had to post one for #12. This book had a great plot and some good twists to it. (Starting book #13 after I hit Submit.)
These books are addictive! I have a hard time putting them down once I start and it usually makes for a long night reading into the early hours of the morning.
The Jess Williams series just gets better and better. You might say he is the Jack Reacher of the wild west. Bad A** with a gun. Make that several guns.☺
Another great story with action, justice, and humor.
I'm really enjoying this series. This book in particular because the violence is tempered with good humor. Jess has a toughness about him as a bounty hunter, but also a gentle and empathic side to him because of what happened to his own family. G.H. Lambert and R.J. Thomas both write good stories that turned me into a western genre fan after just 2 books.
Jess Williams continues to be a force to with. Seems more and more rapists and murderers are coming to know who and what Jess Williams is all about. Williams is a no nonsense man hunter that would rather strap a corpse across the back of a horse than to worry about bringing a thug in to hang. I highly recommend this Jess Williams series to all of you western fans. So, "Giddy Up."
This was a top 3 Jess Williams tale. Starts out with a fun story about him mentoring a boy which I hope he goes back to in later bold. Book takes a great then with Jess being reunited with his US Marshal friend Frank Reedy. Very sad mission they set upon but an easy page turner as usual. Interested to see where the author goes next. Not much of a cliff hanger at the end.
Jess Williams westerns are a great easy read full of characters you will fall in love with.
Number 12, done! Great story that takes Jess back to his beginnings, relating to the abuse suffered upon a Judge's sister. I forgot, as did Jess, that he was sworn in as a US Marshal back in "The River Runs Red," book 7. Marshal Reedy apparently forgot to submit Jess' resignation!
Jess ends up on a WANTED poster. He arranges to meet the Judge who issued the poster. Along the way he performs his usual "Bring them in Dead." He and a few U.S. Marshalls rescue a kidnapped young lady. WARNING - a few Very descriptive acts of violence.
