In a world hidden within our own, magical beings live among us, capable of transforming into majestic animals… if they find their mate. Kingdoms of these enigmatic beings, called beastwalkers, have existed for centuries, each species governed by their own regal king and queen. One thing the courts crave above all else are the animi—human females who can unlock a beastwalker’s ability to shift into their animal forms. Lola Katz is known for three things, talking too much, being obsessed with paranormal romance books, and her two-toned skin. Lola’s vitiligo makes her feel both invisible and a specimen under a microscope at the same time. The nineteen-year-old, New York City waitress has no plans further than attending community college and hanging out with her two besties, Katy and Maddie. But when she starts seeing men with exotic, animal-like features, Lola starts to believe she’s losing her grip on reality. Then Lola meets Callon Leo, the prince of the Kingdom of Claws. Callon is handsome, enigmatic, and thinks of nothing else but his duty to his kingdom. When he uncovers the resurgence of animi abductions—a practice strictly forbidden by the council of shamans—he vows to put a stop to it by any means necessary. But Callon finds his focus shifting from his royal duties to thoughts of Lola, her captivating presence permeating his every waking moment. At the same time, Lola cannot seem to banish thoughts of the enigmatic prince from her mind. As she unravels the truth behind Callon’s sudden interest in her, Lola discovers her own place within a supernatural conflict between the kingdoms, where love, loyalty, and her own unique power intertwine.
Hello, Readers. My name is Quinn Loftis and I am lucky enough to call myself a novelist. In 2011, I self-published my first novel, Prince of Wolves with no expectations, other than my friends and family might purchase the book out of pity. Now, several years later, with 30+ novels and counting under my belt, Prince of Wolves had been downloaded over 1 million times. Though I was hesitant at the time to submit my work to the world for their scrutiny, I'm so glad I did. It made my dream of making a living by telling stories a reality.
I'm blessed to share my household my wonderful husband of more than twenty years (who also co-writes with me on occasion), three beautiful sons, a French Bulldog, and an oversized tabby cat. I love hearing from readers, so if you have any questions about the books or my journey, don't hesitate to hit the 'Contact Quinn' in the menu above. Thank you so much for taking a chance on my books.
I had the pleasure of being an ARC reader for Kingdom of Claws. I don’t know how to do this book the justice that it deserves, but I will do my best… Wow… just wow… I have been a fan of Quinn Loftis for over 10 years, since first reading her Grey Wolves Series (which has become one of my favourites).
I was expecting this book to be good, but that word does not even come close to describing how amazing the first book in this new series really is. Kingdom of Claws had me captivated from the very first page. I have struggled to put it down, but unfortunately I have had to “life” in between reading (sucks to be an adult). I have found myself laughing out loud and checking to see if anyone noticed - my dog gave me some very concerned looks. I have been grrring out loud when necessary - again my dog thinks I’m going crazy!
So much happens in this book; a whole new world of shifters - where anything is possible. There are so many characters that I have already fallen in love with and I can’t wait to see where their stories will lead. The main characters already feel like long lost friends, I feel like I have known them forever. I cannot wait for book two… hang on, let me rephrase… I NEED book two… now! (Yes, I am stomping my foot like a two year old! 😂)
I recommend this book/series to any fan of Quinn, I cannot wait to see the journey that has just begun unfold. This is a ride I am jumping onto with both feet and I hope it is a long one! So please, put on your seat belts, get your claws ready and let’s go pack! 🐾
I don’t know how she does it! Quinn Loftis has created an entirely new world full of all the things we’ve all come to love from her. I was chosen as an ARC reader for this newest series and I am forever honored to be able to dive into this new world with Quinn. We find ourselves in NY city at a hole-in-the-wall pizzeria, with a trio of BFFs. One day a group of supernaturally hot guys walk in and our three friends lives will never be the same. All Lola wanted was a book boyfriend. Will she finally meet the shifter of her dreams? Will he live up to the fantasy she has built in her head? I can’t tell you, but I can tell you…you’ll LOVE this new world and all of the characters! I didn’t want this book to end! I laughed out loud more than I ever have while reading a book. The batter between the BFFs is hilarious! Add this one to your reading list!! I would give it TEN stars if I could!
I cannot take the immaturity of the main character. I received this as an audiobook advanced reader copy, but I had to stop pretty quickly (around 2 %) after the heroine twists the nipple of her best friend for not saying what she wants to hear. The dialogue was already so stupid, this just threw me over the hump of not being willing to read this. Who does that!? I get it that immature guys might do that to each other, but a woman to another woman!? Ugh. I am not willing to hang in for this.
I don't usually rate the books I don't finish, but there aren't enough bad reviews for this.
Here's for the person who is like me and doesn't want to read about this kind of main character.
I’ve been following Quinn’s books for over a decade now and was ecstatic to be chosen as an ARC reader for Kingdom of Claws. Can I just start by saying, she’s done it again! We are introduced to Lola Katz and her two best friends Katy and Maddie. I absolutely adore the sisterly and slightly unhinged relationship between these girls. The trio is soon thrust into a new journey that’s full of excitement, danger, and romance. Lola meets Callon, a Lion shifter who’s a little rough around the edges and who seems to hate everyone but her. As their love story begins, we start to see glimpses of the danger lurking in this new world and, in true Quinn fashion, we are also introduced to a few other characters who are just itching for their own story line and love interest. When I tell you I NEED to know what’s going to happen next!
If your looking for an epic fantasy series that will have you fully invested in the characters, their love lives, and the fight between good and evil, then cozy up with a fuzzy blanket, order a pizza, and dive into the Kingdom Shifters series. Just a word of warning though, the ending will come too soon and you’ll be left counting the days until the next release. I promise, it’s worth it!
I read this as an ARC reader. This book is amazing. World's collide and decisions could save a race, but at what cost? When a young woman's life becomes the stories she reads, her prince charming isn't what she thinks. He isn't prince charming but a shifter and completely throws her whole world into a tailspin. What will she choose? The fate of an entire kingdom or her freedom?
An interesting and imaginative fantasy romance. Some basic foul language and suggestive comments. No intimacy. She has a unique skin condition that has caused her to be bullied in the past and lowered her self esteem. Though she has accepted who she is, believing she is precious has been a struggle.
Book one of the amazing new kingdom shifter series by the amazingly talented author Quinn Loftis. I absolutely loved reading this book it was fantastic. I absolutely loved the new characters of Lola, Katy, Maddie, Callon, Bane and Roan. I loved that this was a shifter universe with all kinds of different shifters wolves, snakes, panthers, tigers, lions, spiders, and many more. I loved the sizzling chemistry and the hilarious banter between characters this book was highly entertaining and enjoyable book to read I definitely recommend giving this series a try.
Lola is a nineteen year old waitress at no name pizzeria with her two best friends Katy and maddie. She is an absolute lover of paranormal shifter romance and is looking for her book boyfriend. Things get strange with Lola when she notices different groups of hot guys with weird realistic and disappearing tattoos of animals. Unknown to humans there is a secret existence of shifters living alongside them. Shaman of the kingdom of claws Roan informs the prince Callon that young women are being abducted strongly suspecting their animus gifted humans that destined to mate with the beast walker’s their importance cannot be understated. The beast masters are low on females because only males have been born recently and the fact that a beast master cannot come into his full strength and shift without the bond to an animus. They believe king Azure of the kingdom of venom is responsible they report to callous father the pride of the kingdom of claws of the news and that Lola is a recently discovered animus. Callon who doesn’t really care for humans is assigned to watch over her. The kingdoms are fighting over animus women because every bonded pair makes that kingdom stronger and every male denied a mate can never shift to his beast form. Callon finds himself attracted and obsessed with Lola and realises he has been too judgemental of humans. Stalks her relentlessly. Lola senses she’s being watched and gives into some advice her and her friends go to wild ink to get tattoos she gets a lion over her heart and Katy a black wolf on her shoulder. Lola’s matches callons making him primal. Call on reveals himself to her and tells her she’s his mate and tells her about the beast walkers and animus. They come from a realm called damara that was ravaged by war because the females that were becoming rare were being fought over. Roan is summoned to the shaman council where they’re creator Visata visits with news that he’s decided to change how the mate bonds because of the unfairness of animus women being held against their wills in different kingdoms and the wrongs done to them. Everyone will now have their own mate with matching marks who will be able to bear male and female children but the animus will have the choice to accept the mating or stay a normal human meaning their beast master mate will never be able to mate with anyone else. Those who choose to bond will be known as Erosazzi only beloved. Callon introduces Lola to his parents and takes her to his home where she meets several pride members including black panther bane. However callon feels guilty over a trainee being hurt because he’s been focused on Lola believes her to be a distraction from his duties so he becomes remarkably cold towards her and when he tells her why she leaves him hurt deeply. She tells her friends everything and avoids her obssessed boss’s son Antonio. Bane arrives to watch her under orders. Her friends believe her about the shifters when bane shifts infront of them. Roan warns callon about his actions and meets with bane and the girls at Lola’s room. After talking to his father callon realises his messed up bad desperate to win her back. Roan explains the new mate bond change’s and that everyone will get matching tattoos. They give callon and Lola space to talk and Katy deals with Antonio arriving unexpectedly but ends up getting kidnapped. Roan and bane see her wolf tattoo realise she’s an animus meant for a wolf in the kingdom of claws and the threat of a war breaking out when they tell the kingdom of fangs that a female of theirs had been kidnapped by the kingdom of venom war will break out. Callon and Lola make up and he fully shifts to a lion. They find out about Katy’s kidnapping and start making a plan to get her back.
Below is my review for Kingdom of Claw by Quinn Loftis. She's an amazing author. The book will be released September 29th.
Again Quinn Loftis did an amazing job. Love all the different shifter groups. She is so wonderful at bringing faith and forgiveness into her stories. She's doing a great job of building her characters with a new twist to the plot line. Spiders who would have thought. You've got to give this new and amazing series a chance. You will be in love and on the edge of your seat for the next book.
This book is a suck you in and make you never want to leave kind of book. Kingdom of Claws definitely showed its claws and I loved it. You go through every emotion and crave more. Quinn has a style that makes you feel like you are on of her characters and you are watching your best friends go through something impossible. With a whole new world to explore and a break from your average shifters, I can’t wait to see what book 2 has in store for us! How many Kingdoms will you find?
Another amazing series by Quinn Loftis!! Similar to the Grey Wolves Series in all of the best ways. Can’t wait to see what happens next and fall in love with more of Quinn’s amazing characters!
I'm not talking about world building- although that needs some oomph, too. There's a lot of very unusual emotional reactions that are not explained. While I enjoyed the friends ribbing each other (until it got too OTT) some of the reactions to events, people, and revelations didn't fit what was going on. The characters behavior distracts readers from realizing that they aren't fully fleshed out. And there's a main plot, with several tangent threads attached that sort of makes sense but is only barely touched on. The POV rotates among main characters and side characters and villains and...gets muddy. The romance is just barely touched on before the really odd out of nowhere breakup, with not nearly enough groveling, before bam end of book. And then the next book the focus changes, so we never actually get an HEA. It's not even an HFN. Seriously, he tried to emotionally destroy her, kicked her to the curb, barely apologized, she accepts the crumbs, and it's over. What?? How is that supposed to hook readers?
Wow! Kingdom Of Claws was amazing. I was blessed to be an ARC reader. Without giving away spoilers, be ready to fall in love with a whole new batch of book boyfriends and besties! I've been a huge fan of Quinn for quite a while. And I've been a paranormal romance fan for even longer. I absolutely loved this book. My favorite parts were the kingdoms and types of shifters. It's different, in the best way. Quinn's voice comes through in this one, as per usual, but it's by no means the same as her other books! Her writing style is comfortable and fun. I can't wait for the next book in this series, I'm fully invested in this story! Thank you, Quinn, for blessing me with yet another series I will be obsessed with and never shut up about.
I'm having a difficult time trying to put into words how disappointed I am with myself for finishing this book. I should have DNF'd it the moment the fmc started babbling her thoughts aloud for all to hear. The whole thing was cringe-worthy and came off as immature. The majority of the book was the FMC and her two besties talking completely off topic and being ridiculously childish. They were the perfect representation of ADD and it wasn't exactly enjoyable to read about their unfocused thoughts. The storyline wasn't even all that good to balance out the ridiculously immature characters. Not sure how this is nearly a 5 star read on goodreads.
“The Kingdom Of Claws” by Quinn Loftis is the first book in a new series based on shifters. I have been reading Quinn’s books since 2011 and have loved every one of them including this one. Quinn has unique writing skills that shows how passionate she is about her books and that she does it because she loves it.
“The Kingdom Of Claws” is about a new group of shifters. Quinn has introduced at least ten various types of shifters in this new series along with the trio of best friends that is a signature staple of Quinn’s writing. This book however centers around Lola and Callon, who to say the least are as imperfect and as real as it gets which is appreciated because that makes them easy to relate to and lovable. The stubbornness of our male lead is frustrating and our female lead cannot keep her thoughts in her head. It is comical at times and I look forward to the rest of Callon and Lola’s journey in future books within this series.
Quinn’s ability to create supernatural worlds within the normal world is unrivaled and she does so seamlessly making it somehow seem normal and real. It is this wonderful magical fictional world that she has created for us to enjoy. There are writers and then there are storytellers. Storytellers have this gift of taking you out of this world and transporting you to the once upon a time, far, far away or to a city like New York in present day such as is the case with this book and makes you feel as though you are living in this amazing secret world. If you enjoy this genre then Quinn Loftis is definitely the author for you. So pick up a copy and enjoy this crazy magical ride along with the rest of us in the Quinnverse!!
Do you ever wish that you could escape into an alternate world? Well, Lola used her supernatural romance novels to do just that… until one day her fantasy world became reality.
Quinn Loftis did it again! With Kingdom of Claws, Quinn introduces another shifter series that is sure to be a hit like The Grey Wolves Series and The Gypsy Healer Series many of us know and love. Quinn has really perfected her writing formula to draw the reader in — relatable characters, a balanced storyline that is filled with romance, humor, and drama, and just enough fantasy to help the reader let reality slip away for a while. In Kingdom of Claws, the reader gets a taste of all of this. We start off with three quirky, unique, but relatable best friends going about their normal daily lives when a bit of fantasy comes into play. Shifters from many different kingdoms are introduced, which sets this series up for a long run, hopefully. And, we cannot forget the best part of all — Quinn’s secret sauce — a dramatic love story filled with so much comedic relief that you cannot always tell if you are crying from sadness or laughter.
I was lucky enough to be chosen as an ARC reader for this book, and I am so glad that I was able to step into this world a bit earlier than most. With that, I can tell you that this book and new series is a must read! What is even better about this series is that it is just starting so you do not have to be an avid reader of Quinn’s work to enjoy it. I hope you check out the Kingdom of Claws and join the rest of us on our path into the Quinn-verse!
The first book in a brand new series by the amazing Quinn Loftis delivers on every level! Kingdom of Claws has all of the Loftis magic found in her ither books -- laughter, suspense, romance, conflict, and spiritual recognition. It is a different tasting meal with the same ingredients. The foundation is the same, but the spices make it a completely different experience. Three best girlfriends ✔️. Hottie paranormal males ✔️. Good versus evil ✔️ Clueless but open-minded humans ✔️. A Creator ✔️ Unlike her Grey Wolves, Nature Hunters, and Viking series, KOC takes place in the Big Apple. The BFFs are just as witty, but they are older teens and working in a pizza parlor to make ends meet. The hot shifters are not just decoration for the strong women. Their personalities shine and leave the reader wanting more page time with them.
Bring on more KOC! I want more big cats -- lions, tigers, jaguar, panthers. I want to meet the wolves in this series. I don't like reptiles, but hey, someone must. Bring on the bears. If you like the world of paranormal beings, enjoy exceptional writing, like good story plots, then order the Kingdom of Claws now. I am already hooked.
Quinn Loftis has hit another home run. I look forward to staying in the QuinnVerse for many more years to come.
I had the lucky chance of getting to be an ARC reader for this new series that Quinn has written. When I tell you I was definitely nervous I was. I love her Grey Wolves series and Gypsy Healer series. But I was unsure how a new animal shifter series would go because I am such a. Tried and true fan to her other series. This book! I mean wow. It was such a. Breathe of fresh air. It has those special elements in it that just draw you in and leave you wanting more. It brings in the right amount of comedy and romance that any person wants.
Lola is such a spunky girl and her friends definitely add to that. It’s a bottom girls dream come true with this series! Everyone dreams to have their book boyfriend come to life! And wow of wow are these men hot hot hot. I love it. I can’t even try to hide the fact that I am so jealous.
Give this series a chance. Even if you haven’t read a shifter series before. Try this. It is a clean YA shifter series that just makes you laugh and go AWE at the right moments. Thank you for the opportunity Quinn. Seriously can’t wait for the rest of the series!
This has a very exciting premise that already has me excited for book two in the series. The magic system in this is unbelievable and makes me excited to read the next book in the series.
Warning: has snakes and spiders *yuck* 😝
If you want alpha male and "touch her or you die," vibes, this is it. Really heavy in this because the main character was super stalkerish in the beginning.
This also has more adult humor which is slightly different than her Grey Wolf Series. But I am okay with that.
The only thing that wasn't for me was the random babbling dialogue between the friends and other characters in the book. I read a few of the books by the author, this is a common writing style for her. So this shouldn't come as a surprise to me but it seems extra heavy in this one. Not really my thing.
Why you should never doubt the amazing work of Quinn Loftis:
I have to be honest I was a little hesitant when I learned that Quinn was going to start a new series. I’m a glutton for her OG Grey Wolves/Gypsy Healer series and can’t get enough of it. I didn’t want a new series interfering with that amazing one. But why I ever doubted that this new series couldn’t be just as good as Quinn’s OG one, I will never understand. Quinn Loftis’s ability as a writer to draw the reader into the different worlds she creates is just simply amazing. The beauty that is Kingdom of Claws is simply just as amazing- if not more- and no lesser of a book than the rest of what Quinn has written. It drew me in and left me wanting more and more long after I was finished reading it. The characters that Quinn creates are just downright relatable and enjoyable. This book flows in such a way that by the end you’re left thinking, “Okay, I need a release date on the next book NOW!” Amazing work Quinn! I can’t wait to see where the Kingdom Shifters series goes.
I have been a fan of Quinn loftis for a very long time. Quinn is able to pull her readers into the story do they connect with her characters. If any have read the grey wolves series, you know what I mean. This new series is also going to be a big hit with readers. The characters come to life with emotions like love, hate, kindness, empathy and loyalty. Quinn’s writes books her fans want to read and she never forgets to enthrall us with awesome cliff hangers. Quinn also loves her readers and considers us part of her pack. The kingdom of claws is another of these books. If you like strong characters, this is the book for you. The characters have giant personalities and are ferocious in both themselves and their relationship with others. Do yourself a favor and read this book, I promise you will not be disappointed and like her fans will be salivating waiting for the next book.
I was chosen to be an ARC reader. I have never done this before and am honored I was picked. I just started reading Quinn Loftis Books about a year ago and it was her Prince of Wolves series. I couldn't put that series down and I don't think I will do it with this one either! The best part is she creates a whole new world of shifters. Quinn puts you into their world and makes you feel as you read like you are one of the characters. The friendly, witty banter between friends, but the absolute love and protection they have for each other. The brooding, hot beastwalker that has his world turned upside-down. All the way to the antagonists that you just hate. I know this series is going to be my favorite by far because who doesn't love Lions? Oh don't forget about the other big cats and others she creates in KOC. Don't read in public if you get embarrassed easily, because you will laugh out loud and people will stare lol! Thank you Quinn for this series to come!
So... I don't hate myself so I'm going to dnf at 12% (and I skimmed at least half of that due to "quirky" human females who interrupt every 5 seconds to say something useless and snarky)
This. Is. A. Religious. Cult.
1. They worship a deity.
2. They kidnap females because they don't have enough and try to convince (brainwash) them into joining the cult and making babies. If they don't, they are kept prisoner until they change their mind.
3. Their deity tells them human trafficking is bad so they decide to GIVE THE WOMEN A CHOICE but also don't plan of being held accountable by human authorities for... ahem... KIDNAPPING FEMALES AND HOLDING THEM HOSTAGE AS BREEDERS. Because these women will just be happy to halve their autonomy back.
Is this a joke??? It's one thing if the book is marketed as dark pnr but this shit is supposed to be romantic and these fuckers think keeping women captive is okay as long as you were nice to them and apologize.
received this book as an ARC...and does not contain any spoilers.
This is the first book in a new series by Quinn Loftis. I have been a fan for about 14 years now and have loved everything she has written so far. This one starts off pretty slow but hang in there the ending is great and of course leaves you hanging. You will need to commit if you want some HEAs lol. Now Lola is very talkative. She has vitiligo which I know what it is but have never had a main character with it so kudos to Quinn! The characters so far a very likeable and down to earth. I enjoyed the dialog between the characters and Quinns way with words is top notch. She paints the story well so you feel like you know the characters. So far this is a great introduction to a new shifter series and I can't wait to read the next one!
Kingdom of Claws is such a great read. At first I was a little nervous to read a multiple shifter book because they tend to confuse me but of course with the incredible world building that Quinn always manages to do, it was no problem at all. This new world has at least 10 different types of shifters but their backstory is very different from that of the grey wolves. We do get to see the beginnings of that soulmate love that Quinn writes so beautifully about.
Kingdom of Claws follows an avid reader who loves to read supernatural romance books and actually ends up living out the type of books that she reads. She is part of a best friend trio and they are absolutely hilarious. Lola’s story is really awesome and something new for all of Quinn’s readers to jump into. Please do not hesitate to get this book!
WOW I enjoyed this book and it easily keeps you on edge of suspense. There's a powerful combination of suspense and excitement that gives fuel to your romance. All of the characters are so captivating and the girls are so amazing and their relationship is magnificent. The story is so suspenseful and when you add in the drama, along with their emotions about their love and the intriguing twists they go through you have a tale that's a great read that's truly delightful. This is definitely a awesome story to read but for one thing and that's the cliffhanger but if you enjoy a good cliffhanger then this is it.Plus the other characters are fantastic that it just worked so well together that I couldn't help but enjoyed their story along with how the suspense is built it's such a marvelous thing."
Thank you to Netgalley UK and Tantor Media for the ALC.
This is my first of this author. In the beginning I really enjoyed the banter between the three besties but it started to become over the top and I felt it took me out of the story at times. I really like the uniqueness of the story and the world building but the romance fell flat for me sadly. I struggled with the connection between the two MCs - I understand paranormal romance can be instalove/instalust but I felt it didn't hit either of these. I didn't enjoy the third act conflict between the two main characters.
Overall, I think this has the bones of a good story, and the banter and friendship is cute and funny. I feel this would be good for a young adult introducing themselves to a paranormal romance and who like books based on vibes.
This is the new series by one of the best supernatural romance authors I have had the pleasure of reading. When reading this amazing book, I couldn't put it down quite literally. Every page was so well written and full of adventure. There are similarities with the other amazing series that Quinn has written, but at the same time, it is a whole new universe and one where I can't wait to read more of. You just know it's going to be an amazing series when you find it relating to everyday life and when you find the amazing cliffhanger at the end. You can't help but love the romance between Lola and Callon.
Thank you for the start of an amazing new series Quinn and letting me have the honour again of being your ARC reader.
I was lucky enough to be an ARC for this book. I have to admit Quinn’s Wolf series is my ultimate favorite series so I was worried this new series wouldn’t live up to the wolf books…. Well I was wrong! This book brought what I love about the wolf books but in its own way. I didn’t feel like it was the wolf series all over again but I think it’s just as good. The friendships are true and so hilarious but not only for the girls but also the men. I thought that was a nice touch. The relationship between the main characters in rocky and I liked seeing the struggle of the main male as it’s not something you always see. I loved all the characters and I can’t wait for the next book. This is the first shifter book outside of wolves that I truly enjoy. Highly recommend!
