When Greyson Hayes envisions the perfect first Christmas with Mica Cruz he sees twisted sheets, a bottle of wine and a roaring fire. What he doesn't see is a holiday spent with the uproarious Cruz family. Grey hasn't taken part in a family Christmas since the death of his parents. Despite his misgivings, he can't seem to form the word no when it comes to Mica.
Mica knows that Grey's not a grinch. Hell, the man shares so much Christmas cheer during the holidays that he leaves no time to experience any for himself. Not this year. Mica plans to make a few changes, starting with a few wicked and whimsical gifts. He enlists the help of his co-workers at Firehouse Six. They band together and strive to provide Grey with the same joy he gives to everyone else--with five a.m. tree hunts, strategically placed mistletoe and Mica playing Santa's not-so-little helper.
But while Mica is busy being nice, Grey has plenty of time to be naughty…
Draven St. James is a born and raised Oregonian. She has traveled extensively in search of mischief and mayhem to fill her books. Her ventures have been quite successful in inspiring a wealth of stories. Of course at the end of the day, coffee within reach, laptop at the ready is where she finds her peace.
This was a nice follow up to Grey's Hidden Fire. I loved the first book and I loved this one too. If you have a thing for hot men in uniform, this could be the series for you.
This book was an easy read. With the added bonus of jealousy and healing. Grey's reactions to things could piss some people off. I would understand people being angry with him for the incident. But I would also say I can understand why he was uncomfortable. Mica had a right to be hurt, yes, but I'm glad he understood in the end.
The whole Grey, Christmas, parents thing was sad. I understood why it would be hard for him, and at the same time I wondered how he would cope with Mica's parents. In real life, I don't imagine things like that are easy.
We kind of get a build up for another couple. People who read the first book might be able to guess. Let me just say, I am super excited! The couple sound like they could be really great together and even though they don't have a book yet, I am rooting for them!
Another thing, the ending. I won't spoil the ending on people... but... The ending made me smile. The reader knows it will happen earlier in the book, but it doesn't take from the happiness I felt reading that scene and looking forward to it throughout the book. I'm just a sap like that, though.
Overall, this book is really "my thing." I accept that it won't be everyone's. I do think that it will hit the spot for a lot of people and I am eagerly awaiting the next book.
Pretty good xmas read about two firemen (Grey & Mica) and there first xmas together. As we left in book one, Mica had his house go up in flames (arson). He moved in with Grey. (Arsonist is caught and part of his comm. serv. is xmas dinner.) Time of year, yadda, yadda all is well. G meets M's family, and blah-blah, they all heal him from past xmases spent alone. YAY!
Ahhhhhh, my firemen are back. What a yummy way to welcome the new year. I so enjoyed Grey and Mica when I first met them in 'Grey's Hidden Fire', so a chance to spend more time with them could not be passed up. Plus, in 'Fire and Mistletoe' I got to watch Grey interacting with Mica's family, and since Grey is an only child and both parents are deceased, it was quite the entertainment for me. Thanks for that, Draven!
Mica is determined that Grey is going to spend Christmas with him. It's not that Grey doesn't want to, it's just as a single man he always covered extra holiday shifts for the family men and he feels guilty for not doing it this year. With all of the extra holiday charities volunteering that Grey does it means they are also counting on him, although Mica has promised to help with that.
Grey is wary of meeting Mica's large family as he never had that type of upbringing and he's nervous. It doesn't help Grey's insecurities either that this will be the first time he's out in public as a gay man, and Grey doesn't handle change very well at all.
What a lovely holiday sequel for Grey and Mica. They are still insanely hot for each other and very much in love. I loved it that Grey got to add new memories instead of feeling like he was giving up the ones he has from his childhood and before his parents died. Thank you, Draven, for another good story from the firehouse. Please tell me you'll be writing one about Michael and Simon?

Fire and Mistletoe continues the story of the incredibly sex Grey and Mica. Since his parents died, Grey works every Christmas to allow others to be with their families. Mica invites Grey to his family Christmas celebration and rediscover the joys of the season.
We get the struggles of our male leads as they more further into their relationship as well as a lesson on the joy of giving to and helping others. The author also gives us a hint of a potential romance between two more of our fire fighters. I look forward to their story.
By the time I'd finished Fire and Mistletoe I was all warm and fuzzy and in the mood for Christmas. Unfortunately for me I read the story in July!
~~I received a free copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads~~
I really enjoyed the first book in this series, so was delighted to get to read the second too.
The story picks up where we left off, with Mica now living with Grey and their friends at the fire station aware of their relationship. Even though this is a short story, we get a lot of development in their story, meet family, experience abject jealousy and witness Grey at what he does best - helping others. Plus of course, plenty of mindblowingly hot and steamy times. They certainly know how to choose Christmas presents with a zing!
I am looking forward to reading the next book, as I have a whole plot sat in my mind given the events of this one - can't wait to see if I was right!

4 smoking hot, emotional stars.
Christmas in July.
At a glance, this series seems to be focused on the smexy, but beneath the surface are a lot of feels. I had a bit of trouble getting into the book because of no build up to the beginning bedroom scenes. While I love Grey & Mica, I needed a bit more foreplay. By the middle of the book, I was eagerly reading, clicking page after page, never wanting it to end.
Fire & Mistletoe is not your ordinary smexy book featuring the holidays. I laughed a few times. I teared up a bit. My heart clenched during several scenes. Lastly, it got me scorching hot enough that I'd need a firefighter to put my flame out. (Erica hangs her head in shame <-- I am not one who enjoys gratuitous sex, but I love the Firehouse 6 series for some reason)
I want book 3 now, but I have to wait until I receive it for review.
This is the second installment from Grey and Mica's story. Preparing for Christmas, they're still both trying to manage their developed relationship, mostly when Mica wanted to bring Grey to his family.
It's not easy for Grey to face a family holiday again after what he had been through, but Mica's love and his patience finally melted Grey's heart.
I'm a bit curious about Michael and Simon's relationship in the future. I need their story ASAP, Draven!
This is not just a fluffly xmas edition that is to sell books at xmas time....nope this book shows real character development for this relationship and is very lovely to read (with some hotness in there to of course)
(Updated and edited version of my 2017 review, from lost account)
I enjoyed the first book in this series, but was frustrated by the limitations caused by its short length. This follow up story, however, is 100% believable, sweet, and remedies nearly all my issues with what I can now consider the "first half" of Grey and Mica's story.
While the last book was a combination of love and lust at first sight with a sprinkling of drama, this next chapter, and reading it from both their perspectives, shows that the characters do indeed have a deep and profound connection. Beyond fitting into each other's lives seamlessly, their connection begins to chase away ghosts of the past.
This story allows us to continue spending time with, and coming to love, the fascinating and lovable characters that work at Firehouse Six, and demonstrates that there is far more to Grey and Mica's relationship than the first story was able to tell. While I still suggest the series be read in order (and to read all of it), anyone frustrated by the first book will be happy to know the series gets better and better over time.
4/5, and convinced me to finish out the series I might have otherwise given up on.
Very sweet short story about a new couple going through the holiday season. The relationship is still new enough that they are learning about each other. I liked the scenes with Mica's family as well as the scenes with their firehouse family.
I read this not having read the first book and was able to follow along without any issues. A steamy holiday read. Both the MCs and the secondary characters were very likable people.
Another great book to the series..woop :) This is a beautiful story for Greyson and Mica that Draven has written, it also includes a little teases of Simeon and Micheal. (that I cant wait to read). Scenes between Grey and Mica are hot (understatement lol) and I love the funny banter between them. Grey and Mica both work at Firehouse 6 and are both living together since Mica's home was burnt down. Christmas is fast approaching and Mica is planning to take Grey home to meet his parents for the holidays. Simeon and Mica are out Xmas shopping for Grey and Mica cant resist teasing Simeon about his crush for there Lieutenant Micheal. We know Simeon puts up a front as a the funny guy but I think there's a story there somewhere. Memories for Grey aren't very festive and the thought for Grey has him feeling anxious. Mica and Grey grow closer and Grey opens himself up a little more.. I loved the ending of this and cant wait to read more of this amazing series..
This second book from The Fire Series called Fire and Mistletoe by Draven St James!
Greyson Hayes and what a cool name that is, can envision the first Christmas with the hot Mica Cruz his boyfriend. He doesn't envision the holiday spent with the loud Cruz family. Greyson has not had a family Christmas since his parents died but he can never, and I mean never, say no to his Mica. His boyfriend is determined to make this one unforgettable holiday for Greyson. Mica has convinced his boyfriend to take some time off and spend the time together with the crazy Cruz family.
This part was sad but so beautifully written, when Grey is missing his parents and I loved how Draven wrote and explained how Mica was there to try to fill the void if possible. What really got to me was through Mica's desire to make this a great Christmas for Grey so he could make new memories and not to forget his old ones with his parents. The hotness and beautiful sexy chemistry between Grey and Mica was undeniable and man, can Draven write hot sex scenes between these 2 characters. I enjoyed the new couple Simon and Michael and they were so darn cute together and I am hoping that Draven will make a series for them; the reader will enjoy these guys also.
The only issue I had and it's not the biggest one as it didn't ruin this lovely story by any means but I was hoping for more of a bigger plot line but again I loved this story. I highly recommend it if you are looking to read about hot, steamy sex, commitment and pure love and what it means to be a family!
I received a complimentary copy of the book in exchange for an honest review.
This is the second book where we get to follow Mica and Grey’s relationship. And in this part, we get to read as they go through one of the most stressful times for a person. The holidays. Now, the first book we did find out a little bit about Grey and his past when it came to his family. So I was really excited when we were able to find out more of what had happened. And see what he had gone through in his past. I did enjoy Mica’s family. I thought they were just amazing, their support of Grey was just great, they didn’t force him but they were there for him. I think he author did a really good job adding that into the storyline that Mica had a great support system. There were hints of something taking place between another couple in the story and I’m really hoping that the author is going to write a book for them. I don’t want to give too much away because it’s really interesting and it was really fun and sweet to read about what was happening. The sex in this book was just as hot, if not hotter than the previous book. Overall this was a really sweet book and it was great to see Grey come into his own on a quite a few levels and not feel pressured in learning how to accept that someone will be there for him.

Fire and Mistletoe is the second book in St. James’ Firehouse Six series and features Mica and Grey from the first book, Grey's Hidden Fire. This story picks up with the men living together, though it is unclear how much time has passed since the events of the first book. The two are happily in love, living and working together, but the upcoming holiday is a little stressful. Grey wants to work and volunteer as usual and Mica has had to persuade him to take a couple of days for the holiday. After losing his parents near Christmas, Grey hasn’t done much celebrating, but agrees to go with Mica. The exposure to Mica’s family and new holiday traditions end up helping Grey realize that there can still be holiday joy and a sense of family for him, even without his parents.
Title: Fire and Mistletoe (Firehouse Six, #2) Author: Draven St. James Cover Artist: Dar Albert Publisher: Loose ID Reviewer: Jay Genre: Contemporary Type: Romance Pairing: Gay Length: Novella Heat Rating: ♨♨♨♨ Book Rating: ★★★★¼ This book was provided by the publisher in exchange for an honest review
The guys again share some pretty steamy encounters but under it all there is love, commitment, and family. They even exchange some adult toys that they can share and experiment with. Grey learns to live again while not forgetting his family traditions that could have died along with his parents. This story focus is on the relationship between Grey and Mica and building their life together. The story is well written, sweet, and steamy. There could have been more development of the story line but what were given is pretty darn good.
Review Written for http://mmgoodbookreviews.wordpress.com/ Grey and Mica are smokin hot! What more need I say. This is a fabulous story of two men in love and in the early stages of a relationship. Grey is not used to being out where Mica is. Grey has reasons why he doesn’t decorate and go all out on Christmas himself but throws himself in covering shifts for others and volunteering. Grey is such a a wonderful character, even his faults are sweet. Mica also is a fabulous character though he and Grey are a little different they blend well and let’s say when they get together and they do every chance they get they set the pages on fire. (Yes, I had to toss in a pun) There are a few more interesting characters in this story and I think I can see some more stories coming soon or at least I hope so This is such a great story for the times you just want to snuggle up with a hot , sweet sexy read. This is definitely perfect for one of those hot cocoa nights. If you like sweet generous men; hot, sexy romance; Christmas stories, Santa, and of course hot firemen this is for you!
Draven St. James has witten a great story we continue with Mica and Grey from Grey's Hidden Fire which is also a great read.Read this first. Mica and Grey spend their first Christmas together we learn little more about Grey's aversion to Christmas and Mica grow in his experience with Grey's full out participation in the charities and why during the holidays. We also see Simon and Michel again with hopes of another book fleshing out their story a little more. I loved Micas family and their embracing of Grey helping remind Grey how much he misses family and now he is apart of a new family he can now call his own. I beyond loved Micas gift to Grey I do hope to see them again. Mr St James is such a talented author i felt the love between Mica and Grey. There were several touching moments involving a little girl Tabithawe get to see Grey's big heart in this book.
This is another story about Mica and Grey. Even though the first one was not left with a cliffy, it was nice to get more of there life and how they are fairing after everything. During this story we are also given snippets of other men in the fire house so hopefully i’ll be reading there stories soon. I loved how Mica just slid right in with all the other men and Grey came to terms with his new sexuality. The give and take for this relationship seems so real, the way Mica wants to spend the holidays with his family but Grey doesn’t celebrate but is willing to for the man he loves. The closer we get from the arsonist. Then we also have the action of the team as we rush out and fight a fire and save the lives of children all rolled into a Christmas novella. Very well done. I was given a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review by Crystals Many reviews.
What a fun tale Fire and Mistletoe ended up being. I love stories where we get to check back in with couples and Ms. St.James didn't disappoint. I got a chance to see how Grey and Mica were doing as a couple and in the end even got to see more layers of each man. Not to mention I got to catch up with the supporting characters, especially the mischievous Simon. (Personally this reviewer can't wait for that book to come out!) But before I digress, lets jump into the review of Mica and Grey's story. Read More. . . http://www.darkdivasreviews.com/fire-...
Grey and Mica are back with everything I loved about them from the first book. They are smoking hot together. This story focuses a bit more on their relationship as they try to get through the holidays with Grey meeting Mica's parents and missing his own. These guys are great together. I actually liked that we get so see Grey still struggling a little bit with being out in public, even though he's all on board in private or at the firehouse. I especially loved the added sweet moments in this segment.
Awww, such a cute little part II....it was light and fun read.. Mica and Grey are so cute... They spend the holidays with the firehouse and Micas family who accepted him with open arms, and he so badly needed it after losing his parents around the holidays several years prior. I'm really excited to see how Michael and Simon play out next, seein Simon so shy and vunerable when talking about Michael is so unlike his loud mouth personality so it'll be fun to see! Another cute 5 star read for me :D Hope to see more of these guys next book.
As I dove head first into this one, I was so happy that I was still with Micha and Grey. I'm only a little disappointed that the ending left me hanging like that. Well, not really hanging, just left me wanting more. Knowing the third book is not about these guys, but Simon and Michael, makes me hope that by the end I'll know if I should expect another book with these studly firemen. Crossing fingers!
Still, this was another easy, quick, and loving book. Almost sweet enough to hurt my teeth.
Great follow-up to Grey's Hidden Fire. It's Grey and Mica's first Christmas together and Mica wants to give Grey some nice Christmas memories. He definitely delivers. I can't wait to read Michael and Simon's story :)
I was upset when book 1 ended, so I'm glad Draven continued Grey and Mica's story. I love that it wasn't all fluff. It wasn't terribly angsty, but it had it moments. Draven manages to recapture the chemistry Grey and Mica have. I love these boys, and look forward to seeing them again in the future!
Sweet little festive short which sees Grey and Mica celebrating Christmas together and making new memories to help Grey get over looking his parents so close to the special day. There's some truly cute moments with Mica's family and a tasty little sex scene involving a delicious purple vibrator and some dirty talk as well as more great fire fighting bonding with the guys.
Grey has his reason for keeping busy at Christmas but Mica wants to share his joy. In the end they both found that compromise gave them both special memories. Now I need to go back and read the first book.
