Sutton Bishop has always believed in happily ever after. Despite beginning her writing career while penning nonfiction essays and articles for magazines, Sutton’s heart belonged to romance long before she wrote her first book. After marrying her teenage heartthrob and starting her own family, she plunged into fiction—blending action, adventure, suspense, and romance. Sutton’s deeply layered and flawed characters are forced to contend with challenging plot twists that reveal their hidden motives and passions, in settings that range from America’s heartland to the heat of Guatemala, Morocco, Italy, and Spain.
Her current releases include the Ancient Passage Series, Piñon Ridge Series series, and Javier. Interlude (a Piñon Ridge spinoff), One Scorching Summer (part of the Texas Summer Series), and the first installment of the Torch River Series series will release in 2025.

First off skip this book if you are looking for a wet behind the ears hipster as the hero. Bishop writes manly men, who live with their action and deeds. Javier is one of the those primal, adult men. The book takes place in a community that is divided between the rich and poor. Where the rich (The Cliffs) have no heart and perpetrate violence on the poor side (The Narrows). In this book Javier past comes back to haunt him, in the form of a feisty beauty. She makes him confront his past and her future. The books as a brotherhood feel without being an over the top motorcycle club genre. I really like this quick, sexy read, as the characters have a back and forth slow burn that I love.
Javier Cabrera couldn’t know what was in store for him when Memphis Creed pulled into the Narrows in her fully restored GTO. How past mistakes were about to pull him back to a dark time in his past, his family’s past, the memories all-consuming. How he would be called upon to fight a fight not his own, but part of him. And how he would discover what had been missing in his life all these years. This novella checks several boxes—family, friends, revenge, redemption, and of course, hot sex—and is a perfect introduction to the Torch River cast of characters, and leaves readers wanting to know Javier and Memphis’ full story. Something tells me Sutton Bishop has quite a lineup in store for readers with this series!
