Fabulous May/December Romance

First off skip this book if you are looking for a wet behind the ears hipster as the hero. Bishop writes manly men, who live with their action and deeds. Javier is one of the those primal, adult men. The book takes place in a community that is divided between the rich and poor. Where the rich (The Cliffs) have no heart and perpetrate violence on the poor side (The Narrows). In this book Javier past comes back to haunt him, in the form of a feisty beauty. She makes him confront his past and her future. The books as a brotherhood feel without being an over the top motorcycle club genre. I really like this quick, sexy read, as the characters have a back and forth slow burn that I love.

And how he would discover what had been missing in his life all these years. This novella checks several boxes—family, friends, revenge, redemption, and of course, hot sex—and is a perfect introduction to the Torch River cast of characters, and leaves readers wanting to know Javier and Memphis’ full story. Something tells me Sutton Bishop has quite a lineup in store for readers with this series!
